My PIP5048GK: And finally, "tear-rubber" photos (8 and 9 of 9) of the optional WiFi module/box I ordered with it for remote data logging/monitoring.

From the sample outputs I've seen of the display screen, it appears to be a modest form of Victron Energy's CCGX module. wink

I will now take my time to acquire and put in place all the earth grounding and lightning/surge protection necessary and advised, to enable me properly and optimally deploy the PIP.

Thanks, guys; I will keep the house updated.

if interested you can pm me. but note however that it's not multi-strand and
the insulation has been scrapped in a few places (will require you applying the
usual black electrical insulation tape to make it good)

Here it is Sir @ attached pic. That is the 1hp in my bedroom.

1hp costs 130k & 1.5hp costs 135k last I checked

Please be sure to buy from an LG Fouani store and not a random 3rd party vendor - I hear people market some older generation LG ACs as inverter ACs when they are not - they don't behave or save energy like the ones people here have variously described do.
Only 5k difference?

220 or 230 x 2.9 = 667 watts but it will vary as this is usually the highest it can attend. Most times it's lower depending on settings of the TV esp if it has an eco mode

Inverter & cc = 400k, hybrid = 280k, The white man is not stupid .
Someone on powerforum sa compared axpert scc with that of victron and results were similar in fact axpert may have won that battle. Some in that same forum have been using theirs for years. Well mileage may differ i am enjoying mine for some months now and my parents have been using theirs going to 3 yrs now

Wow impressed with fangpusun. I bought their bmv 700 and when it delivered I noticed that the display had issues, it wasn't that bad the only problem been 7 looking like 1 and some mild clarity issues. So I mailed them and was expecting them to tell me they will offer a discount on my next buy but they said they will send another unit. I expected them to send only the display unit since the shunt and supplied cables were working buy lo and behold they sent another complete unit thru DHL ie the bmv 700 monitor, 500a shunt and cables. Infact they even added a temp sensor which is odd because the bmv doesn't use it and so I don't know why they added it. So I now have 2 units of complete bmv 700 plus a temp sensor wire that I don't know what to do with. Maybe I'll keep it for a future device, any suggestions? grin

BATTERY BALANCER REVIEW

so, there's been this debate whether battery balancer works or not... well, I 'like just state my observation.

so, I installed a 3.5kva/48v inverter system for this client with 4 batteries, December 2018. all batteries were reading 12.7v at purchase (why I always love Quanta; reads 12.9v at purchase)

As customary, the battery has to charge for at least 8hrs. However they charged it overnight. they only use the system once and drained it to just 48.8v before they shut it down. since they planned on adding four more batteries and solar this January, they decided not to use it again until the whole setup is complete.

last week Friday, I added battery meters and discovered that the batteries weren't just balanced. During charge they're reading 14.5v, 14.3v, 14.7v, 13.8v. (see Pic 1)

so I went and get a battery balancer and install it. 5 seconds later, I got pic 2; all were reading 13.9v

I removed the balancer and the batteries reading went back to pic1. put it back and the batteries reading went back to pic2.

will install the four new batteries tomorrow and carry out another observation.

Cheers
Do battery balancers work that fast..... 5 secs hmmm

ceaser:
Good evening to the gurus here.

I am completely off grid as my site is yet unserved by the national grid. I have a small living room set-up, DIYed that have served well and is two years old this December.
• Two 150 watts mono panels in 2p config.
• 20Amp PWM CC
• 1000watts BTS PSW inverter.
• 12volt 100 amps AGM battery

This set-up is replicated in each bedroom of the house and the kitchen. The set-ups depending on the location in the house, powers a TV, decoder, solar rechargeable standing fan, USB charging outlets. Along with a 22" TV, the kitchen set-up also powers a 60 watt fridge (230 watts start up current @ 230VAC) and with the exception of the kitchen set-up, every other similar set-up in the house rarely gets discharged below 12 volts (occasionally 11.9volts) by 12 midnight when everyone must have hit their beds.

The highest instantaneous peak current ever recorded is 6amps and a harvest of 210kwh (actually sub-200kwh on most sunny days). Considering the fact that each 150watts panel rated at 8.7amps should output at least 15amps instantaneous in a 2p config, isn't the 6 amps and below always recorded an abysmally low performance?

I recently got a give away deal of a MakeSkyBlue MPPT (20amps, 120volts) and thought of swapping this for the PWM CC in the living room. What re-arrangement/mods will you recommend for the solar panels to use with the MPPT CC? Also, I never used a circuit breaker in any of the set-ups, so can I get away with not using a CB with the new MPPT controller? If no, will a 20amps DC CB be appropriate? After installing the new CC, will an upgrade to 200amps AGM be a worthy investment?

What independent set-up will you recommend for an inverter AC of 1 horse power? I may have to alternate the set-up with a washing machine as needed (maybe twice weekly), so put that in mind also.

I plan to also revive the use of a sliding gate opener hitherto decommissioned since I can't be running the generator all day to power a gate opener that is used intermittently few moments of the day. A wattmeter showed the watt rating of 230 watts @ 240VAC. I tested it with a 12volt 1000watt MSW inverter i have lying around (actually I have two of it lying unused) connected with a 100amps AGM and it worked well. I also have a redundant 600 watts PSW that keeps sounding the alarm at any power draw above 180 watts, so it may not fit well into the gate opener scenario. Considering the high wattage of the sliding gate opener, would you recommend I use a 24volt inverter set-up instead (using two 30amps or 50amps AGM in series)? Will I likely get away with finally using the gate opener with the MSW inverter? The set-up powering the gate opener may eventually be recruited to power an electric fence unit overnight (if possible), but that's under maybe, also keep that in mind.

Please forgive my long epistle. I want to be as explicit as possible. I beseech you to be kind enough to read thru. Thank you Chiefs.

smf/agm wahala, reason why i love fla.
so the bank ran down today, as low as 45v or so.
the 4 batts on the left are about 6-7months old, while the batts on the right are 3 to 4months old. each bank has 1 balancer+1 desulphator.

my theory is that batt 2 failed on left bank, and has inadvertently damaged batt 5 on right bank.
am proposing replacing both batts to try and salvage the situation, 2ndlly i intend deploying a copper bus bar.
all batts tested ok to a 100amp load tester few wks ago when fully charged.

am open to suggestions on how to prudently salvage this situation.
abeg ignore the crude display box grin grin grin
Thought you will be maintaining 50% DOD max. I bought a fangpusun bmv 700 and aim to set the cut off at 50%. Hope u revive them shaa. Any equalization history?
