Plenty of road side/quacks are in the industry. They'll tell clients that they can build a robust software in 3 days for just peanut fee. This is one major factor I see in the industry. Very few good and capable programmers, but plenty people who claim to be software developers because they know small HTML. |
Lolz. OP don't mind the guy Jare. Many so-called programmers/developers ain't actually developers. As soon as they know html, css and bootstrap they'll start claiming badass programmers. |
Please what are you returning? |
Poo? Poo contains methane n'a, an ingredient for explosive. See this guys o. Lolzz |
A friend used to tell me this: "don't learn programming language, learn to program". Languages are just tools. Depending on where your interest lies; if you are going to be interested in web development (html, css, Javascript, bootstrap and php/asp.net mvc). Android development (java). Dive in. |
She died, later she now dead. |
Learn python or Go, and become a data scientist. It is a hot niche |
Good day everyone. I need help on this test. My solution is not passing the test. Here is the question: HST2: RECURSION LAB Write a function power that accepts two arguments, a and b and calculates a raised to the power b. Example: power(2,3) = 8 Raise a TypeError with the message Argument must be integer or float if the inputs are anything other that ints or floats. Note: Don't use ** And here is my solution: def power(a,b): if not isinstance(a or b,int or float): raise TypeError('Argument must be integer or float') else: if(int(b)==0): return 1 elif(int(a)==0 and int(b) >= 0): return 0 elif(int(b)==1): return a else: n = 1 c = int(a) while n < int(b): c*=int(a) n+=1 return c |
SeunEgbegbe:And talking about what you've never researched on is mediocrity of the highest order. |
TheRector:It is very pathetic bro. Don't just mind them. The underlying factor(s) is not recession; it is GREED and LAZINESS! |
Some Nigerians have lost their power of reasoning. Whether Ponzi schemes or Peer to peer schemes; all are bound to crash. Please just get your self into a genuine hustle, and see How God blesses the hustle. |
Had similar challenge. Windows 10 is voracious when it comes to data consumption. Just meter ur connection and you'll be fine. |
This is nice. The highest paid programmers in the Nigeria are c# (asp.net mvc) programmers. It's worth been a proficient c# programmer. |
Just as a father never gave birth to a thief, that is how God never created demons. Like humans, God gave the angels free will. They have the power to choose. But sadly, like the child who chose to become a criminal, the disobedient angels, plus Satan, choose to spurn God's sovereignty. They became demons. But that doesn't mean that they now changed to hideous monster creatures like what we have in our movies. They still maintain they beautiful nature; only that they became vicious and cruel. Because just like Satan, they have a short period of time, before God, through his son Jesus Christ destroys them and all wickedness on earth. |
Revelation1:Demons = fallen Angels. And demons are not like those things that are depicted in Hollywood movies. They're actually beautiful like their leader, Satan the devil. They're disobedient angels who were cast down to the earth. |
rapmike:Organizations like... Have you tried to Google some IT firms in Nigeria, especially Lagos? Get their addresses man, and stop waiting to be spoon fed. NB: make sure you've got some thing nice in your portfolio to show that your skill is genuine. |
Until we see action abeg. It's a good initiative. But one trend in the news these days is: "this or that TO start this". Let's start seeing some actions. |
jeff1607:Exactly my thought. |
I don't like php. It might be loosing prominence in developed world, But it's not dying in Nigeria, probably because we are slow to adopt new technologies here. Infact most shops in Nigeria use php. It's not a bad idea to get a full grasp of it for the sake of most Nigerian shops. |
I bet that those posting negative comments and what not don't know anything about what the Op has in mind. Was MySpace to there when Facebook started? Was Nokia and Symbian os not the king when Google and android began. Op. Just do your thing. Any programmer that want to dare can join you in making your ideals come true. I wish I'm a very good programmer, I could've stuck my foot in. I'm still a budding web developer. Success Op |
adeoyeyemi:Yea. The web is there. Mind you angular js is open source, I see no reason why you should sell the materials. |
I believe Php is very popular because of the use of WordPress cms and Co, but C# (asp.net) pays like mad. |
First of all, what kind of service do you wanna render? We need that information, or someone can tell you to learn C or C++ or Pascal. |
I will not say "python is easy to learn". I'd rather say "The syntax of python are easy to learn". A dummy can get a hang of it in few days. But the issue is, how long will it take you to be fluent in using it to solve problems. |
A developer is a person who has the technical skills to make good use of his tools (programming languages, frameworks etc) to create solutions to complex task. |
orimion:All languages have limitations. Lolz. Let's see how js goes. |
First of all, no-one-in-all language. Programming languages are like tools you use to build something, depending on what you are building. As per your startup: you need to define what solutions your startup will provide or what problems it willsolve, before thinking about what language to learn to achieve that purpose. If you have that, then research on the technologies that can help you achieve ur aim. Learn those technologies. And apply them. |
Solo learn is also a good website to learn |
Ihinmi:Use any version. The version doesn't matter. Though I'd recommend python 3, because it's the future. The main thing is to know how to solve problems in python. |
