Hey. My advise is not to get stuck with choosing between NodeJS or php. Pick one and learn it very well. Must importantly build stuffs with it. These programming languages are just tools. You can easily pickup new tools as you go along in your software dev journey. 1 Like 1 Share |

During this time men will go from bad to worst; treating each other with so much wickedness and contempt. Indeed, man has dominated man to his injury. |

KVN1: I'll advise you get the fundamentals down: - networking - understand operating systems (Windows, Linux, mac) - understand how the web works. Learn some programming. Then register on tryhackme.com, I'll recommend going for premium for this one (8 USD/month). Practice practice. Have your own labs too. After gaining some experience with tryhackme.com you can take the elearn security junior penetration tester course and cert (eJPT). Keep reading and practising. Build yourself from there. Go for some advance certs too on the elearnsecurity platform. It's also important to find internships. But remember, penetration testing is just a tiny piece of information security. |

erubati: You do not need certification for all of them na. Lots of courses on udemy, youtube. Only go for certification for the area of security u want to get into. E.g application security - (Free resources: on networking, programming, web dev, mobile dev) then paid (CEH or eJPT, Security +, do try hack me or hacktheboux.eu). |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Cyber Security Or A Degree Top Up by Nascimento(m): 6:43pm On Sep 01, 2021 |
I studied some networking, MS server management, python, Some tutorials in Comptia A+, and I started some hacking training in hack the box (premium). Got a job as a web developer in the organization I work for currently. Then I was given a wonderful opportunity to learn on the job. Studied for ISMS exams and passed, and was given a lot of inhouse training before i was ready to take on customers' projects. I currently handle everything in Application security, since that is the area where I am more comfortable with becasue of my Dev background. I will say get the basis of networking and server management (Active directory et al). Then pay for security +. After that Get a premium account on try-hack-me (8 pounds/10 USD per month). Once you are confortable with exploiting vulnerable machine, start applying fr a job, say as a security analyst intern or so. You cannot know everything about IT security by going to these training centre. Get the fundamentals, then apply for an intern position. Ovo200: 1 Like |

Ovo200: Hello. I work in cybersecurity. I came from a bioscience background. I also have a background in web application development. One thing I will tell you is this: Cybersecurity is a combination of various IT skills - from Networking, to application development to server management et al. You must know and understand the basics, and the underlying technologies and processes in Information Technology. With that said, I'll advise you to get trainings and certification on the following: 1. Networking (Network+, CCNA etc). Not just to read book o. Go to centres that can teach you hands on skills in networking, how a SIEM works and the likes. 2. Learn how to program. Learn to be proficient in Python, intermediate skill in C++, Java and Web development (because you cannot hack a 3. web application without understanding how to build one) and may be some mobile development (If you want to go into mobile app pentesting). 4. Have a deep understanding of system administration. 5. Then take the CEH. But I prefer eJPT by Elearnsecurity because their exams is practical, you must hack to answer any of the 20 questions. 6. Take Security+ to understand how to secure your information assets. Just as a note too, cybersecurity is not just about hacking, there is compliance aspect to it too. Like ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System), TOGAF, ITSMS etc. Your HND is enough. Just show you competence in the things i mentioned above, and you will excel. Good health to you. 5 Likes 1 Share |
Religion / Re: 'Magnificent' Ruins From Time Of Jesus Found In Earth's Holiest Site, Jerusalem by Nascimento(m): 10:44am On Jul 18, 2021 |
sagenaija: If u are still thinking that Jerusalem is still the seat of pure worship or the holiest site of worship, then you are wrong. Granted, the Israelites were chosen, but they rejected the messiah. With that rejection, God rejected them as his chosen people. God turned to the gentiles (us), giving us the privilege of having a relationship with him through his son Jesus christ. The Bible even said that in Every LAND, the man that fears Him, is acceptable to him. So everywhere we are is holy to God. Not Jerusalem, but everywhere we are. As long as we conduct ourselves in harmony to God's righteous standards and serve him in spirit and truth. 2 Likes 1 Share |

GeneralDae: Granted God has the power to know everything, but he choose not to interfere in all things. He create man as free moral agent. He gave man the liberty to choose. The only thing required for man to show his integrity to God and continue to enjoy blessings is to be obedient. But man chose to follow Satan, hence we suffer from our first parents single act of disobedience. |

BrainSanitizer: There is nothing like the spirit of good and bad dwelling in man. We are free moral agents. We decide what to do, good or bad. If you say satan is not a creature, then who tempted Jesus after he got baptised? Who challenged Job's integrity before God in heaven? Who contended with Michael for the body of Moses? Who did the Bible refer to as "the god of this system of thing"? Who does was the book of revelation 12:12 referring to when it say: "... Devil has come down to you... Knowing he has a short period of time". The Devil is real. He's a wicked spirit creature influencing all the vices in the world today. Jesus came to break the works of the Devil not the work of man, but the works of the Devil. Please get that. |
Religion / Re: Satan Lied When He Claimed The Kingdoms Of The World Were His by Nascimento(m): 9:46am On May 09, 2021 |
bingbagbo: Satan did not lie. 2 corinth 4:4 and Eph 16:11 show that he's the ruler of the world. God allowed Satan to rule. Satan challenged God's sovereignty or right to rule man back in Eden because of his selfish desires. He's been given a chance to show that he has the right to rule. But we all know he's failed woefully. Never has mankind been plunged into senseless misery and brutality. Satan knows he has a short period of time because his time is up. Shortly, he's be dashed to pieces. And between, Satan is not man. He's a powerful spirit creature. He's ruthless and targets anyone who put faith in God. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

nextstep: There is this notion that the vaccine is a medium to have the world under the control/influence of the antichrist. Hence, the call to boycott it from some churches. The problem with these guys is that they never experienced first hand what the virus has done Europe and America. If they had seen how people get wasted by the virus, I don't think they be talking like this. This is simple science: vaccine is not a cure. It's only helps the body learn to fight the virus, giving us better chance to survive, when we catch the virus. It also surprises me how these so called Christians deny that there is a pandemic. It gets to show that they don't even study their bibles. Didnt the read that "there is going to be pestilence" (diseases, pandemic) in the last days? Blind faiths everywhere. 1 Like 1 Share |

appreciate001: All great speakers experience nervousness as soon as they climb a platform to give a speech. The following can help: 1) have a proper understanding of your topic or what you want to say. 2)arrange your thoughts chronologically like an outline before you speak. That way your thoughts can flow well. 3) know how to breathe properly when speaking. 4) start slow. 5) practice practice practice. Always practice your speech as if you were facing the real audience. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Programming / Re: [Advice] For New Programmers, what server-Side Programming Language Is The Best? by Nascimento(m): 8:02am On Oct 08, 2019 |
I think it all depends on the requirements of each project. Some project will require you to use PHP, while others will require you to use C#. The bottom line is that you have a firm grasp of the principles of programming and problem solving. You can get hired as a backend engineer, and you probably know only C#. If there is a project that requires PHP, you won't tell your boss that you can't do the job because you don't know PHP. You just have to pick up languages as you go. You are a problem solver. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Emphasis should be placed on equalizing theory (updated knowledge) with practical hands-on knowledge, along with easy access to industry mentors and internships. 3 Likes |

Programming / Re: Whats The Expectant Salary For A Cybersecurity Software Engineer by Nascimento(m): 11:00am On Jun 24, 2019 |
Cybersecurity is broad. You could be an Ethical hacker, security analyst, compliance officer etc. First you need to know: 1) Networking (comptia network plus is a good start) 2) Server management 3)Linux 4) information systems security (comptia security +) and probably. 5) ISO 27001 information security management systems ( its a standard for managing information assets in an organization). I believe that's what you need to get into the field. But going forward you might need: CEH, CISSP etc depends on what area of security you wanna go into. Hope this helps 2 Likes 4 Shares |
