@queeneve
Abeg i no understand dis your analogy at all. We are comparing a time-specific event(football) with another, though important but not really time specific. Instead of asking me to record the match and watch later why not consider the easier option of watching the match live and talk later? If conversation is a two-way thing, then i should expect that calls come when there are minimal distractions( except calls that relate to the match ), besides as i said earlier, the average call takes over 30mins

We don dey try settle sha, but as i talk i go dey switch off my phone for better match, the only problem be say i no go fit quickly call any of my guys when any correct move happen during the match.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu To Emerge As Ac Presidential Candidate by naso2(m): 10:39am On Jul 09, 2010
bluetooth: can you please tell me how jonathan is better than ribadu ? Pdp has never won any election credibly and if the 2011 election is to be conducted in a free and fair atmosphere, ribadu will beat jonathan hands down.
I doubt if you understand how elections really go. Pdp is bad , but the point is , it is not true that they always rig to win expecially the presidential election. party structure and general visibility is key to winning a presidential election. I cant speak for governorship elections.

I know votes were inflated in yaradua's favour in the last election, but the truth is he was always going to beat the other candidates.

Ac does not have the structure win a presidential election, forget all this one-ward parties that are talking about coalition.

MY PEOPLE MAKE UNA NO VEX. . . . .I NO TOO DEY COME DIS SECTION BEFORE BUT KATAKATA CARRY ME REACH HERE. MAKE UNA HELP ME JUDGE DIS MATTER.

She is exciting to be with and really engaging when you talk to her BUT one problem dey. She does not care if your are watching an exciting football match or not. Whenever she calls , you must be ready to converse , anything short is seen as an expression that football is more important than her. And for us a 20-minute call is short. It gets worse when she knows there is a match going on. She interprets every move as an attempt to discharge her .

As I like football reach, na only 20 minutes I watch for  el-classico (REAL vs BARCA). She called during the first half of the match and since I was watching with some other guys and could not really converse during the match, she made remarks that I valued the match more than her, else I should prove it by leaving the match to talk to her.  The thing pain me well , well but I just manage leave the match come go dey talk for phone. After that incident I warned her that towing that line was dangerous for us.

ENTER WORLD CUP……,
I am so passionate about football that I sqeezed out a 3 weeks leave just after the start of the world cup. I no just wan miss any match. The day Kaita messed everything up , na so baby start they harass me that if I was feeling bad, it was self-inflicted , that watching the match was my choice and if the results turned out bad , I should pick myself up and relate to her like nothing was wrong , that she did not care.  Later I devised a strategy of switching off my phone during very important matches.

But yesterday in that all important semi final match After deliberately missing mid-week church service,I went to one of these nice MTN centres , dey chill with chapman and smallchops. Before the match I was too confident that Germany would win (OCTOPUS or not), so you can imagine my state of confusion when those short ,aki-and-pawpaw-like Barca boys dey confuse my die MANCHAFT.

Just 15 minutes into the match na so Phone ring . I definitely was not going to pick. I knew if there was an emergency she would send a text. At the end of the match I had 7  missed calls and was personally feeling too bad(because of the result) to even talk to anyone. I just go my house go sleep.

Since this morning I have been calling, and she has also refused to pick. I know I will not apologise for this one , as it would mean approving of this her style.

Sometimes I feel she is being too insensitive, by trying to stand in the way of one of the things that I am really passionate about. It might be football today……. I no know wetin e go turn to tomorrow.

Candid advice , what should I have done differently?
PoliticsRe: Facebook Influenced My U-turn On National Teams’ Ban — President by naso2(m): 7:17pm On Jul 07, 2010
Tuyis:
Majority of Nigerians are not on Facebook, in fact most do not own or even know how to use a computer, how does that translate to listening to Nigerians?

Regarding the ban, did he have to humilliate himself in front of the whole world, just to get rid of two officials of an organization that relies on government funding?

He needs to sit up, if he has any hope of being elected.
I dont seem to understand your logic here. "Majority of Nigeians are not on facebook", whatever that means. we are comparing something(albeit small) to nothing at all. When he became president he made it clear that he will be on facebook to feel the pulse of nigerians, and in our normal way , we criticised it . we have been so blinded that we condemn everything we see our leaders do. we dont judge on case-by-case basis. May be you expect him to conduct another census to feel the pulse of people instead of facebook. Facebook may not be the best he can do for now, but it is surely a step in the right direction.

On humiliating himself before the world, there is a saying that "it is only a fool who can not change his mind" the changes in the NFF that necessitated the suspension had somehow been achieved so why should he retain his earlier stance? pride alone, what else. in this case that pride is of little value. It is called humility my friend.
PoliticsRe: Facebook Influenced My U-turn On National Teams’ Ban — President by naso2(m): 6:40pm On Jul 07, 2010
The comments here show how impossible we are as Nigerians. The reversal was a good decision.

We returned from the world cup woefully, the president takes a decision because the NFF was a house full of thieves hiding under the fifa article 13 on government interference. The president makes an announcement preparing for the worst(ban for 2 years), that announcement leads to some drastic changes in the NFF which is  less 3 of its biggest thieves (LULU,OGUNJOBI,UCHEGBULAM).

The remaining board members have agreed to work amicably with the interim team created by government, Fifa too is not making any noise about interference when we all know that the newly set up team can easily be interpreted as interference. Why is Fifa this careful? because Sepp blatter and his team know that government can go any length to clean up the NFF . This is a win-win for government. make the changes in the board without bleeding so much(fifa ban/suspension)

Secondly i expect any reasonble person to go check up the facebook page being spoken of here to ascertain the general tone of responses the president got after the initial announcement , to affirm how it could have affected the final decision.

What GEJ is saying is that he now has a means of feeling the pulse of the populace directly. What we now need to do is to test the effectiveness of this medium in tackling other challenges we have as a nation.

Guys ignore the useless octopus, My heart and head says Germany. I however hope the germans will approach the game rightly. They have been the underdogs in the last two games and it paid off. Now they are marginally the favourites, I hope they can cope with the pressure. Else spain fit go surprise them big time.

Kai Uncle Joe i never knew you were so chicken hearted.

KAi! I miss ABACHA,
This is not about being chicken hearted or lion hearted. Its about getting the results you want. pride in itself has little political value. Lulu was hiding under Fifa's immunity and Joe wanted him and other board members out, which has been achieved so why remain inflexible?
SportsRe: Breaking News: Jonathan Reverses Ban On Super Eagles Hours To Fifa Deadline! by naso2(m): 6:01pm On Jul 05, 2010
Nigerians are just too funny. When the same people like tkb417 that simply labelled jonathan silly for his earlier action are the same people that condemn this unbanning, then it becomes easy to understand Ebenezer Obey's ketekete song.

Yes you are correct  about the title. A woman that was to die in six months, with ten children had to look for foster parents for all her children b4 dying becuase the husband was a bloody drunk.

I am not the crying type but that film really really touched me.

E be like say my broda don misfire this time o.

I am really disappointed by this decision.  I hope the president understands how sensitive football is. However , unlike the Abacha era where it was seemingly a persoal decision to spite Mandela, I think GEJ in this case would have acted on the recommendation of PTF and the minister. Why thye had to recommed this is what i struggle to understand

Please read this excerpt from the article

If i'm not reading this right, care to explain what that part means?
According to the CBN officials, almost all the executive directors of the rescued banks had been issued the letters except one or two that have refused to cooperate with CBN and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The CEO'S are still wanted but almost all executive directors have been cleared save 3. I dont see how from your explanation this move is to make the directors cooporate with EFCC.

If we understand how this banks run , then it insults common sense that all the EDs have been cleared to return to the industry while sanusi's original claim on the banks and the CEOs remain.

With an average figure of 5 EDs each from the 8 queried banks, we are saying that about 35 have been cleared and nobody is asking sanusi questions? Haba.

I am beginning to sense that sanusi is just waking up to the difficult task of justifying his rash actions in court and is only seeking other forms of settlement.

I don't really get why this is raising eyebrows. The article clearly indicates that all the affected chiefs that have been let off the hook had co-operated fully with the EFCC and the CBN.
If someone gets sacked for non-performance or incompetence, is that reason enough to blacklist the person from employment in their industry?
Oga , except if you are only trying to explain the article to suit yourself. on the bolded parts, you seem to be the only one seeing it that way.

Na God go punish all this NFF people. They think they can just toy with the future of this country abi? This will be the last straw that will break the camel's back.

Eguavon has done it before with limited success, then why bring him back? has he done anything exceptional between the last time and now? I swear this NFF GUYS DEY JOKE. IT IS NOT GOING TO BE A FOREIGN COACH THEN IT MUST BE SIASIA. SO AMOKACHI DON SABI BALL PASS SIASIA?
SportsWhy Are Referees Ruining This World Cup? by naso2(op): 10:35pm On Jun 27, 2010
I have never watched any fifa organised competition with as many referee mistakes like the ongoing world cup.The list is endless;
from argentina's goal against nigeria,
uruguay's second goal against south africa which came from an erroneous penalty and red card to the GK,
USA's clean goal against slovakia which was cancelled,
England's equaliser against germany from frank lampard's boots which was cancelled,
Tevez's first clear offside goal against mexico.

While we agree that the ref's are humans and can make mistakes while taking quick decisions , I think these cases are far beyond acceptable limits in this world cup.

omar22:
Why dont you go and do it? if its that simple!!!

Name another Nigerian striker that could play the lone role? looking at the nations cup video means, what? that he should always look back, most news managers at a club wipe the slate clean, why would you want to watch a video of a competition were the player were not motivated to play for Amodu!!!

New managers gives everyone a fair chance,

Yes he had the job from Feb, what happened to international window in March and April for Friendlies? the NFF ,essed it up,
My broda God bless you. Yes we know coaches are judged by results but there are exceptions expecially when some circumstances are beyond the coaches control. On a luckier day Nigeria would have made 6 points at least from that group, but sometimes things dont work that way.

Ayegbeni showed some good flashes at the tail end of the season for everton, hence he sure would have been considered by any coach. Anichebe's injury , martins' poor attitude during trainings, and osaze's poor form and his foolish demand for respect from LARS, all played to push Ayegbeni to the top of the order of strikers.

If LARS can drop his wage , which i believe is too high at least for now that we dont have any major competition then he should be retained , except if NFF want to consider siasia for once.

Well done, Black Stars of Ghana. cool

The Super Fowl Eagles need to learn your tactical discipline. Ghana's only major weakness is its lack of a top class finisher and a better goalie. The midfield is really good. I loved how Dede Ayew and Annan played. KPB was good too. Ghana should start with Muntari not Tagoe.
Bros i beg to differ abeg. The Ghanian coach does not believe in big man football. Muntari's passing is very poor. well it looks like AYEW is suspended, may be muntari can fill that role.

SportsRe: Sacking Amodu Was A Mistake - Odemwingie by naso2(m): 6:01pm On Jun 23, 2010
This useless Osaze that can not manage a little light, he thinks he is so important that he directs everyone on coach selection.

He is one of the main reasons why siasia was not chosen to coach SE. After the olympics where he saw that siasia does not have respect for big names, he openly counselled the NFF that having been a member in siasia's team, he knows that SIA1 is very intelligent as a coach, but not matured enough to coach the eagles.

After the loss to Ghana at the ANC he made statements that led to Amodu's sack, from the first training with lagerback, he said "OYINBO NA OYINBO" meaning lagerback came with a special touch. Now that he was rightly made to remain on the bench for his poor showing, not only in the friendlies but the competition proper, he is now talking nonsense.

For me, we have seen Eguavon, Amokachi and Chukwu before so there is nothing new this bunch can offer. We either retain lagerback or hand this team to Siasia to be assisted by Oliseh. I can assure that we will laugh again.

SportsRe: Ghana Vs Germany [0 - 1] On June 23 @ World Cup 2010 by naso2(m): 12:33pm On Jun 23, 2010
i wish Ghana all the luck they need. I fear though that a draw against germany is a more difficult task than most of us seem to understand.

I suspect that Australia will just do Ghana a favour by beating Serbia by a slim margin. Hence Ghana qualifies even if they loose.
PoliticsRe: We Have No Money To Fix Power Sector – Jebba Power Chief by naso2(m): 12:27pm On Jun 23, 2010
some of us are just being overreactive here. First the minister was mainly trying to sell the privatisation program to the workers who presently seem to oppose it. I do not think any of us believe the current structure can both attract and sustain reasonable investment in the sector.

Secondly we need to confirm how real the $6billion annual requirement is by considering the what it would cost in other countries with similar power needs.
