braine: . Moreover, I think your scores without an additional upgrade, should be able to get you in. All the best! |
oseroke:Mine was from 32 to 42 and then to 49.41.Computer science too. I can easily deduce that you finished with a 2.1 hence the initial 39+ 15 = 54. The second addition varies from candidtate to candidate. I got 7+ marks added and you got 9+ marks added. Congrats bro. You are the highest csc guy I have come across, most csc guys scored 20s in the initial result. |
braine:Yes, I have in computer science. The first result that was pasted was our raw scores, I saw 32 then. After that, they added extra marks based on what one finished with; 20 marks for a first class, 15 marks for a second class upper and 10 marks for a second class lower. Mine changed from 32 to 42. A friend of mine that initially got 24 was upgraded to 39 (15 extra marks for getting a 2.1) . The results were still "not set" for everyone at that time, and then again, between 6 and 7+ marks was added for everyone, I don't know how they arrived at that and my scores changed to 49.41 and his changed to 45.88 and I had "recommended" on the remarks and he had "not recommended". I guess the method varies from department to department but the degree addition cuts across every department. So, you never can tell, there might still be a little upgrade on yours when it comes out. |
braine:Okay. I pray it comes out well. It is most likely that when the status has been put there, you won't see that score again, might be upgraded. |
braine:Thanks bro, Amen. How about yours? Department, scores and status? |
49.41 Msc computer science ....RECOMMENDED. Thank you God. I guess the cut off was at least 47 for csc cos I saw someone with 46 and he was not recommended. |
braine:You mean for physics? Or computer? |
Primate2:I guess he is asleep now. Will post it here tomorrow or when he forwards it to me.He told me about 12 people or thereabout got admitted.Physics Edu. Last year, just 28 peoole got admitted for csc. |
braine:Yeah, that was what he told me this evening. He got it today. I checked his result for him yesterday. |
temmyt20:Hmmm. Any news? Have you seen any other csc?The aggregate is over what? What's the chance of getting in? My friend got an admission text, scored 43 (MEdu Phsics), another person that scored 40 got but that's physics anyway; their test pattern and number of questions were different from ours |
Computer science was so brutal from the questions to the results. Mehn, 32 is just too low. I have seen lower scores though ( 20s) and 30. Any Msc computer science here? |
I have read this story before, I think it was on another platform. Did you submit it elsewhere? |
Anoruo:It is better you make a thorough research before you type rubbish . One of those schools up there is arguably the best school in Nigeria; I mean Loyola Jesuit College Abuja. Some of their pupils were involved in that Sosoliso plane crash. I have some friends that finished from there. In 2005, the best WAEC result and the third best was won by that school. Odaro Omusi cleared 9 A1s that year. There was a time that the school was having the best WASSCE results for years . They have won national JETS maths competition and physics competition severally. Students of that school have represented Nigeria in several internation olympiads. Gregory Ugwi finished from there too. Although he had just 6A1s in his WASSCE, he scored the highest in 2004's UME exams (346/400) or so. That school has so many achievements that are too numerous to mention. You can google the school and some of the names I mentioned to educate yourself. |
gunners160:God bless you too. |
halmeyd: . I no be English teacher o, I just dey try. I won't mind free tutorials in my free time. There is a very small English textbook called "SIMPLIFIED ENGLISH" by Steve O. Umeadi. As small as that textbook is, it made me score 75% in my UME's Use Of English (I studied it for just two months) . Although, it has been a long time, I hope it is still in the market..Try and get that book. |
gunners160:Based on the example you gave, both of them are correct. You can be in Lagos and you can be at Lagos depending on how it is used . What will determine maybe or not it is correct is how it is used. Don't let me confuse you. Here is the explanation; When you are comparing two locations, "in" is used for the larger one while "at" is used for the smaller and more specific one. E.g I live in Nigeria, at lagos. I live in Lagos, at Ikeja. I live in Ikeja, at Popoola street. I live in Popoola street, at number 12. I live in number 12 Popoola street, at flat 2. |
muaa:"Been" is usually used for past activities while "Being" applies to present activities, a past continuous activity or even a future continuous one. *The boy has been flogged.(It happened) * The boy is being flogged.( It is happening). *When the results of the election were being read yesterday, the chairman opened his mouth. ( The action is past, but the narrator was trying to describe what happened during a continuous event). * The results of the elections have been read yesterday ( past event). *When the righteous are being raptured, the sinners will look on. ( A future event) |
In bed/ on bed To be in bed means to be asleep or be sleeping but when one is on bed, one isn't asleep but just on it. *The caring mother on bed, watches over the baby in bed. * I am usually in bed for 8 hours everyday. |
Tnycee:I think there are different types or maybe levels of trainees. I know a trainee process engineer and he told me he gets 8M per annum, he will soon be confirmed. I will also make morer researches. Thanks. |
Twerkjack and chubbyt, you gurls ain't bad. Nice pics. |
Well, self defence skills is very important too. Everyone needs it, it gives a little bit of confidence and gaurantee. Let me share a short story; A man, his wife and child were walking along the road by the express. Suddenly, a bus came from nowhere, left the express and almost hit them. In annoyance, the man hit the side mirror of the bus and it broke. The driver came down, dragged him into the bus and beat the hell out of him despite the fact that the driver was wrong. If the man could defend himself, it wouldn't have been as bad as it turned out to be before he was rescued, I felt so sad. So, self defence skills is very very important. Another important skill is driving skills, you never can tell when you will need it particularly during emergencies. It is important everyone learns to drive. Moreover, swimming skills is a necessary skill too, useful for emergencies and some dangerous situations, everyone should learn how to swim. Finally, I think knowing how to play a musical instrument is important too for relaxation, expression of thoughts, meditation and so many things. For the guys, knowing how to play ian instrument can get you that lovely geishee too .....I remember how my friend, Evans had a lot of girls around him in the university days, he plays the guiter so well, composes R and B songs with their names whenever they come visiting and they just smile and blush along as he sings on. At least, it can put a smile on somebody's face. I manage to play the harmonica (mouth organ) and it is so much fun when friends, ladies and all request for a particular song and say, "can you please play this for me?" . |
Talk about beauty and brains, talk about Vivly. |
I see a lot of solidarity votes for Rozzay. I guess at the end of the day, popularity takes the lead which I am afraid is a bad way of chosing our own miss Nairaland. Moreover, her response to the questions was below average and mixed with pidgin English (which is a no no). It will be an insult to this great forum if Rozzay emerges the queen ( no offence), Jennima is even still okay. @Vivly, win or not, you are already a queen and far above most of the contestants structurally, intellectually and all. Unfortunately, voting is mostly done based on solidarity and popularity here and that's why you have been seeing some names allover. Keep it up. #Team vivly# |
Just give this damn award to Vivly. I vote for VIVLY. |
There is this school called NEKEDE (I don't know the full name), it is a polytechnic. If the school is not the worst higher institution in Nigeria, it should be one of the worst. |
Bale1:+ FUNAAB |
enairaprof:UI and Uniben shouldn't be on that list. |
kunlebabs:The home page was opening was opening but as soon as you click on the "Application" section, nothing goes through again. Moreover, I used a cafe, used my phone and laptop when I got home, used an ipad too but it was still the same. When I got to the school on saturday, they couldn't do anything at the school cafes too, they said "yes", it isn't going through. This is not the first time this will be happening. During regustration, the site was not accessible for about 4 days and registration was about to close. I went to school and discovered that even the staff couldn't access the portal too, no one could access it. The fact is Unilag's web. Administration is too poor, the persons in charge of their sites are incompetent. How will you explain having information about 2011/2012 admission on the homepage and the requirement for the registration when another session is about to start, too many stale news on the page too. |
boldan:I know how to print the pass joor not talking about that. What I meant is that the link that will take you to where you will enter your details stopped going and the school couldn't do anything about it.Unfortunately, I didn't make a copy of my application print out because I rushed to submit and there was no time then.I only went with my teller, the print out that has the reference number andd passport, the woman didn't allow me in, I found my way around the pass at the end of the day. How can a whole school portal be down for 24 hours+? Unilag is overrated . |
braine:What I mean is that the link to even take you to where you can access the exam pass isn't going talkless of printing. |
boldan:Didn't make a copy of the application form I submitted to the department. I submitted a coloured one , they should be able to retrieve it. Unilag is below par when it comes to all these net issues, it was war too before we could register, a whole university of lagos. Smh. |
I have not been able to print out an exam pass. The page is not going . |
