The question is what is 1m in today's Nigeria? And if you're not well connected, you can spend more than 30 years in the service and still not get to that level.

The reason why modern women work hard like men is because of the increased financial demands in the home. A time would come when your salary alone wouldn't be enough for the home...

You want your kids to go to St Gregory's college, electronic gadgets are produced everyday and they don't come cheap, and your kids are nagging you that they want them, you want to upgrade your car or house. Your kids are done with high school you want to send them to the US or Cannada for university education....etc.

In order to maintain this lifestyle, you must put in more effort. Some women open boutiques, some open expensive restaurants...etc, all this is so that they can be able to absorb the ever increasing financial responsibilities in the home. Relying on only a federal government job wouldn't do that.

It would depend on the kind of job you're doing. There are some jobs that would demand your time, some would involve you travelling out of your state of residence for days or even weeks. Some would give you ample time to do other things.

In this economy it would be almost impossible to find a maid would would be resuming in the morning and leaving by 4pm. How much would you be paying her? By the time she removes transportation, feeding and other basic necessities, the money is gone. That's why most maids prefer to live on the property where they work. That way their feeding and accommodation would be taken care of. And there won't be need for a transportation budget.

As for ensuring that your kids remain safe, you can have hidden cameras installed in strategic areas of the house without her knowledge. That way, you can effectively monitor what she does to your kids.

Hiring maids would depend on the house. If it's a duplex, you'll definitely need maids. If it's a 2 or 3 bedroom flat, I'll suggest you spend at least 6 months together after marriage understanding and enjoying each other before considering getting a maid.

It's just 2 of you, this means that there won't be much household responsibilities aside sweeping, cooking and washing plates. So one of both partners can easily handle it.
