I recently had a meeting with executives of a company that wanted a website. After discussing with them , i gave them my bill and guess what? they said I had charged them 20 times more than a similar web developer that came in for the same bid a week earlier.

After I made some points, and answered a few questions, i got the contract, PRAISE GOD (so get ready for my usual site reviews )

So now, my question is "if you were in my shoes, what would you say your justification is for charging about 20 times higher than our fellow 10k persite developers?"

try www.net2ftp.com its a web based ftp site and its completely free. all you need are the usual parameters , ftp, username and password. the cool thing about this is that you can use it from any computer cus its web based.

If web development is your thing, focus on it.
Web dev is lucrative business if you kno how.
You can earn as much as 400k per month (how many bank managers get up to that?) if you are skilled enough.

you must understand that the internet is next to reality these days. people ( Nigerians inclusive) are now lookin to the internet for everything. from shopping, to information, pay biills, services , u name it, and its on the internet.

so my thot is, if you are skilled enough to build applications and solutions for the interenet, you will earn good money.

but hey, if webdev is a hobby to you, you will earn hobby cash from it (she they say output=input?, what you give is what you get!!!).

i think thats one of the reasons someone will charge as low as 15k for a website and someone else will charge 200k for the same site. to one, its a hobby, to another its a profession hence the difference.

I ve given you the physical location , i think its best you get thete yourself so u cn have first hand information nd understand what they requir.but in anycase, i understand they take a one off fee of 150, 000 naira for integration and a percentage of every transaction is also surcharged.
They will give you an API will help you integrate your site no matter wat language u using to their server .

thats a little summary of it. hope it helps. but if ur in Lagos, your best bet is going there yourself.

I think you've already answered your own question. If you kno its interswitch, then get in touch with interswitch. Why chase shadows wen u can get access to the main substance?

Thanks for the post, but wat am sayin is, it worked perfectly on my own system, its wen i hosted the site on the live server ( with my webhost) that the problem shows up.

how can i get it enabled on my live server.

Happy new year. I recently developed a site that needed me to use the GD library in my code but for me to use it, i had to enable GD to run on my locall system.
Now my question is, for my code to work properly on my server, i need to enble GD, but i can t seem to find out were to do it on my live server. I tried calling the host, but to no avail.

so my guys, my2cents, afam etc, pls lemme hear wat the solution is.

To be honest , i am impressed @ ur creativity in makin us view ya website by force. u shud probably think about seeking a job in an adverstising agency. well, back to your site, one thing i kno about site reviews in nairaland is that pple wanna see wat u can do. and not what you can do with another mans software.
If yu design a blog from ground up, post it ere and trust me, i kno a lot of constant web designers that will comment on yu. but for now, guy , i dont think anyone has the tim to comment on a blog u didnt design yurself.

Its not an issue wwith the webhost, its an issue with the development platform you will use to buid your application (e.g ASP. PHP, JSP, .NET, CFM etc)
as far as i know, Interswitch has APIs for almost all progarmming languages.
So i f you wanna connect your site to Interswitchs server, after making payments, they will give you several documents on how you ca integrate webpay to your site.
