sweetcheecks: You are a very stubborn and hatefull man who likes to look as if you know more than others when you are clueless. Kaffirs you mean? Please go ahead insulting us, once again making yourself look like you know anything about SA. Now please come to SA to SOWETO and repeat calling a black SAcan kaffir then you will be the one who needs euthanasia and then you go around saying we are xenophobic. You have been warned.
Come o, so kaffir is a bad word in SA ? hmmmm, let me look it up:

Kaffir: Disparaging and Offensive. (in South Africa) a black person:

Nna, I didn't know this definition before now. What I meant was that you people are probably kafiris (as in Infidel, olodo).Ngwanu, no vex.

berem: you should blame onwu -chucks for starting such a stewpid thread. He ignited the anger in her. If Nigerians don't know how to respect their heroes, other countries do.
bia, ogini ne me gi? Why are you replacing ndu with onwu?

Many of the posters here are simply unnecessarily emotional and incapable of being rational. I will however, tender an unreserved apologies to all once one of you emotional wrecks prove to me that Mandela was consulted about whether his fate should be left to God or not.

Many of you people are probably kafiris, who do not believe that God can heal the man or call him home peacefully, if and when he chooses. Your poor spiritual states is why you concluded that my suggestion that they stop painful treatment and put his fate in God, means that I was calling for his death. You people should re examine your spiritual states of mind.
I wasn't trying to turn it into a tribal bashing issue. I apologize for the BH gibe. I was just taken aback by your post which I perceive to be insensitive considering how symbolic Mandela is to Africa/Africans.
The post is quite sensitive - sensitive to the wishes of Mandela himself which was never considered. Most people assume that oold folks prefer to live a painful life than to depart in peace. Even if the old folks tell their relatives to let it go, they typically will not accept it and say that the old folks have lost their minds. Truth is bitter and uncomfortable.

For your BH snide remark, Egbe ndi Anambra piafuka gi blokos.

Gbawe: grin grin grin grin Iwo omo oni Ijogbon yi. Otun ti de ibi? The essential character and aim of the DAWN initiative may be intangible if you are not of the 'disposition' to understand what DAWN is.

When, for example, Ogun conceded land to Lagos for agriculture, and you were on the thread arguing vacuously, what did you think that was about if not a deliberate drive to aid economic integration and cooperation?
I am not into mischief making or Ijogbon. I am however surprised that you proudly proclaim that the illegality of Ogun state "conceding" land to Lagos for agriculture is part of the DAWN agenda. That deal was shrouded in secrecy and up till today, no one knows how much compensation was paid to Ogun state, if any. Additionally, friends and associates of Ojuyobo and fashola, will own the farms and associated Agri business corporations if the project ever gets started, since this is the norm. One would hope that they don't divi up the land among themselves instead of using it for Agriculture.

Please join me in asking for accountability. I'd be most proud of you, if you'd provid some financial information regarding the Ogun/Lagos land deal. I trust you will share the information if you have it because I cannot find it anywhere.

Gbawe: You are no doctor and you are certainly not a family member privy to his medical record. What is this then in aid of? Just pray for him, or wish Mandela the best, and leave it at that. Ultimately, you cannot be about his best interest more than his direct family who are always around him.
Have we met? you say I'm not a doctor, but would it be OK with you if I were a cattle rearer? smiley

It takes a special kind of rationalism to realize that the current steps being taken medically, are more, in the best interest of family members who are afraid to lose the man, than in the interest of Mandela himself.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Please Let Nelson Mandela Depart Peacefully by nduchucks(op): 4:56pm On Mar 29, 2013
Gbawe: Look, this man is a much loved international icon. You may care about him but not more so than his family and many competent friends and associates around him who want the absolute best for Mandela. It is insulting to suggest you get what is going on but Mandela himself, and all his many loved ones around him, do not.

Please respect the man, his family and the fact that, difficult as it may be for all to witness, the best is probably being done for Mandela. Do you even know what you are saying? Mandela is being kept in a drug-induced comatose state and only you Ndu Chucks get that?
I don't know why you are being over dramatic about my opinion and implying that I am being disrespectful of the man and his family.

Earlier today, Zuma, speaking for Madela's family and SA, appeared to agree with the suggestion that South Africa should prepare for Mandela’s eventual death. “Is this a time for us to be aware of what is inevitable?” asked the BBC's Lerato Mbele. “Well, I would imagine so,” replied Zuma.

So Oga, my posts are based on compassion, respect, and nothing more. I am still of the opinion that they should let the man be and stop the drugs. Very powerful drugs are required to treat lung infections especially of a 94 year old patient with a history of Tuberculosis.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Please Let Nelson Mandela Depart Peacefully by nduchucks(op): 4:12pm On Mar 29, 2013
Gbawe: Oga Ndu Chucks, it is a difficult one. The man is indeed old. We are all fond of him and wish him the sort of rest only the very best should experience. Nonetheless, he cannot really be in pain and discomfort while treatment is deliberately deferred. Painful Euthanasia, by deliberate lack of medical intervention, can simply never be an option in Madiba's case. I don't think anyone is "drugging" him.
Painful Euthanasia is exactly the option being employed by the so-called medical intervention. The side effects of the drugs administered to treat his lung infections could actually cause more pain and ultimately kill Mandela. His 94 year old body is no longer capable of fighting these side effects without causing pain. The pain killers which will be prescribed to him will essentially keep him dazed and doped up, to the point of not recognizing his family members and being unable to communicate with them.

They should stop all treatments and let the man at peace.
Politics › Development Agenda For Western Nigeria (DAWN) - Progress Report by nduchucks(op): 3:50pm On Mar 29, 2013
Last year, amid fanfare, SW leaders announced a composite Regional Integration and Development Agenda for the Southwest claiming that the agenda has therefore become imperative in order to fulfill the immense potential of the Region.

Over a year has passed and after watching the players with kin interest, I'm afraid I cannot find any pertinent progress to report. If anyone has any information on DAWN and its implementation, I'd appreciate the information.

The word boondoggle keeps ringing a bell when I think of DAWN, lets hope my instincts are wrong.

Foreign Affairs › Please Let Nelson Mandela Depart Peacefully by nduchucks(op): 1:23am On Mar 29, 2013
The Great Nelson Mandela is 94 years old and by any account he has lived a very full life. In the days of old,the greatest blessing is to be able to live a full life and die peacefully in one's sleep, preferably among loved ones.

Technology has changed us so much to the point of having robbed us of the joy of dying peacefully. They patch the organs of our aged parents and grand parents, keep them on drugs with painful side effects until they die without experiencing the joy of dying peacefully.

I use this forum to appeal to the South African government and his family, to stop drugging this great man, take him home, and allow him to be with his family until God calls him.

ACM10: Mr. you lied that Prof Achebe used the term "Ibo" in his book. The instances he used "Ibo" was when he quoted other sources.
You have started your distortion of facts again. Achebe accepted his first national honour taking into consideration that Nigeria is not perfect and has room for improvement, but rejected later awards in 2003 and 2001 as a form of protest. His action is typical of an Igboman with integrity. 46yrs ago, Dr. Akanu Ibiam did the same to the Britist royalties on account of their support for genocide in Nigeria.

Below is your lie and my response. . .

You are in fact the most daring and shameless liar that I've encountered on this forum. Prof Achebe used "Igbo" all through the book. The instances he made metion of "Ibo" was when he quoted other sources. You are taking advantage of the fact that none of us has read the book. Your cup has filled up.

231 quoted richard nixon 1968 sept 10
274 quoted anber's observation
289 ojukwu freed awolowo
296 american jewish congress quotin adekunle
313 american jewish congress
315 Sir Robert Stapledon British governor of eastern region(1959 - 1960)
You appear to be a compound fool. If the people Achebe quoted had called Igbos Baboons, Savages, and Cannibals, would Achebe have quoted them verbatim? The fact is Achebe saw nothing wrong with the term, he didn't even Use sic parenthetically to denote that the word Ibo is wrong or strange.

So. get lost, dolo

These Afenifere old gizzards need to return to the village and retire. They have either forgotten that the youths of the community are supposed to fight their wars or have no faith in the youths. The bushmen still believe that their ancestors, whose remains have been recycled a million times over, will fight IEDs and Boko Haram clubs. Wonders shall never end.

If SSS found out they were illegal aliens from Niger, Mali or Chad, they would hand them over to the NIS for deportation.

http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/boko-haram-deported-nigerien-vows-to-return/
This exercise is outrageous and a gross violation of the civil, human, and constitutional rights of Nigerian citizens. The authorities, in a knee jerk reaction, rounded up people including Nigerian citizens, suspected to be illegal immigrants, arrested and detained them simply because they were youthful and live in a particular part of their homeland. It is most unfortunate that the bigotry of many posters has blinded them from seeing how preposterous the actions of the authorities are,
