Aderostock: Another omo ibo, if Tinubu should be cut down to size, Uzor kalu needs to be buried aliveibu onye JJC? |
Asiwaju Tinubu: Mimiko has called me a godfather, yes, I am a positive godfather and even, god fatherism is biblical and that is why Christians refer to God as their father.Did this man just say that since Christians refer to God as their father, then he is god to the people of the southwest because he is a self described godfather? Did he just infer that he is god to the people of the South-West? Nna, this man needs to be cut down to size, this is unbecoming of an alleged ex 419er. What nonsense. |
I must confess that I was on the tail of Eze ndiigbo NL gburugburu throughout his reign and challenged him frequently in attempts to make him a better Eze. Americans say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I therefore recommend that you return Eze Onlytruth unopposed. Let's hope you people with set aside your pathological ailment of big ego and do the do. |

BecomerichR, I agree with your assessment. It is impossible for Akeredolu to win without the support of the Obas |

It is time to speak: Look at the madness going on in Yoruba land. Slowpoke, nincompoop, people without family background causing problem because of money, ill gotten wealth. If a town or settlement is at peace, the bastard there is yet to grow up. If you are a bastard, there is nothing you can do to cover up with money. Where is your father’s compound? A bastard pretending to be a patriot. We are proud of our heritage because we have goodly heritage. There are those who call themselves nobles who are under the influence of Jezebel. Until they drink kainkain, they cannot function. They pretend to be larger than life.........Pastor Tunde Bakare on Tinubu Other people hate him because of his reputation of being a 419er in the US before he was "rehabilitated". Others still hate him because of his anti Awolowo stance. But ndu_chucks believes that the man is a genius who took advantage of opportunites before him to enrich himself. The Yorubas can do better than picking Tinubu as their leader, in my opinion. |
Basket mouth: Why are you peddling falsehood? Is power improvement Obj's handwork? Electoral reforms and so on. This man is trying for crying out loud. Ok, your problem is, why didn't Gej announce it earlier. Lay man thought. What's your understanding of Natural Disaster? These things don't give you notice, they just occur, you can only guide against future occurrence. Are you suggesting that becos it wasn't announced earlier, the project should be abandoned? Haba! For some reason, you think I simply do not want to give GEJ credit for anything and that is very far from the truth. I was simply pointing out that you should not attribute the successes of prior administrations to GEJ. There are very obvious archievements attributable to GEJ, here are a few below: (1) He began the construction of 400 Almajiri schools across the country. For me, GEJ will have a hat trick if he promotes legislation and forces NASS to pass same, which would mandate primary school education throughout the country. Parents who do not comply should face imprisonment and/or heavy fines. (2) Great progress in the area of Agriculture Another area which has been neglected by previous Presidents is Agriculture. OBJ, who saw the enormous profit potential of that area, shamefully built the great Ota farm for his personal gains, instead of promoting such across the country. Nasarawa state has just pledged to support a $90 million investment, projected to be Africa’s largest rice farm established by Olam Nigeria Limited. The farm will cover 10,000 hectares of fully irrigated commercial farm in Rukubi-Ondorie area of Doma in Nasarawa State. To support this and other such projects, GEJ's government is quietly resuscitate Abandoned Dams including the Doma dam which will support the said rice farm. I don't need to say anything about GEJ's support for the Cassava industry. www.nairaland.com/attachments/679290_Alh_GEJ_jpg189e4f18c98a779c467ada63b1c039ce |
Basket mouth: Have we ever recorded a competent Govt? Instead of commending This one that has managed to improve our lives, you are here arguing rubbish. Have'nt you noticed improved power, electoral reform, functional railways, improved education sector, Human developments and so on?If GEJ's plan to construct dams is a demonstration that he is proactive, according to you, why was this plan not announced earlier on, before the disaster? You also talked about improved power, functioning railways e.t.c and tried to give credits to the current administration - this shows how narrow minded you are. What we are reaping are the fruits of the projects started by GEJ's predecessors i.e. Yar'Adua and OBJ. Use your brain. |
usmanyaro17: I Thot we are talking abt the present, why not give govt the benefit of the doubt to see what they will do this time around..They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt, I had given this incompetent government the benefit of the doubt to the point that I have completely run out of benefits. The government is run by nothing but thieves. |
usmanyaro17: My broda natural disasters have no time table,at least something will be done to prevent future occurence. This is why you do not wait until you have the natural disasters before building dams which would minimize the effects of those disasters. For your information the Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources has received more than N10.5billion in the past few years - pray tell, what did they spend the money on, besides buying exotic SUVs for touring. |
This kneejerk reaction smacks of nothing short of irresponsibility and incompetence. Where were the plans for dams a priori? I suspect this is another opportunity to raise N1billion towards 2015 elections. Nonsense. |
The president has come of age. He is certainly enjoying politics as shown in the picture below, but for the life of me, I can't comprehend why he would wear Babanriga (Agbada) on top of suit. It must be due to the absense of Patience, may she return soon. Amu.

usmanyaro17: His comments suggests so,if he is a true friend,he should t ell his friend the truth and advise him appropriately not supporting his antics. What you have are unproven allegations and nothing more. |
Billyonaire: They are right about the request for financial justice. I clamor for justice too. And the only justice is fiscal federalism and that is the solution to this country's problem. 100% Resource Control by the States and Agreed Taxation Paid to Abuja. Every State should generate their resources and expend their money.I am with you on this. 100% resource control applicable to all resources within state boundaries. All other resources in federal territories such as offshore resources should be under federal control and revenues from those resources should be distributed equitably if the funds must be transferred to states. What we have now is unsustainable. |
I am convinced that either you people are iliterates or mischievous. How did you reach the conclusion the El Rufai supports Dino's scandalous lifestyle or that a scandalous lifestyle exists in the first place? |

Prof Corruption: Tinubu knows silence is the best answer for a fool.In this case, I disagree with you. When someone questions and smeers the reputation of your revered leader, you must defend your leader i.e. unless you do not hold your leader (Awo) in esteem. |
@OP, they may be relatives of some highly placed people. ![]() |
^^^ OP never mentioned any name so why insinuating or are you trying to tell us something about Tinubu we're all missing?
keep waiting for the OP to mention names, olodo. The feuds between H.I.D Awolowo and Tinubu are well documented and I will not put any type of sponsorship as implied by the OP past Oju Yobo, though we do not yet have any evidence to confirm that he is a sponsor. The man na connie man. ![]() |
@OP, we all know that you are insinuating that Tinubu may have something to do with the current assault on Awo but you are yet to provide any proof. Admittedly Oju Yobo has been unusually silent on the matter, in an unusual stance for a person who is supposed to be the Asiwaju of Yoruba people. What do you know about the relationship between Tinubu and Achebe. |
Dear Mods, Super Mods, & Oga kpatakpata, ![]() I enjoy the ability to view all of my "Liked" posts through a hyperlink which is visible when I'm logged in. If it would not consume too much technical capital, may I suggest that a similar link be made available when I view other people's profiles? It would be nice to be able to view "Liked" posts of any NLer, currently I don't know how to do so. It would also be interesting to see posts with extraordinarily high number of "Likes", say 60 and above - there must be something about such posts which would be useful or interesting at least. |
Where is edoyad? |
The vigilantees must be prosecuted for murder, illegal possession of firearms, and endangering the lives of others. There should be no room for lawlessness. These are the same people who will arm rob innocent citizens at night. We cannot legitimize or celebrate their criminality simply because the Osun speaker employed them to track his wife down. |

This thread and its posters show that most of you people are the elites in Nigeria. While people are dying daily from the floods, losing everything they own, becoming homeless, living on oil platforms and boats without internet access, you are here blabbing your mouths and attimes appearing to be celebrating the demise of fellow Nigerians. You are the same set of people who are quick to call for the breakup of our dear country because you will be untouched by the resulting war of African wars. To you elitists, I say egbe ndi Iranians piafuka gi isi. ![]() |
Onlytruth: In fact, Ndigbo should resolutely scrutinize the "Awoist opinions" of every Yoruba seeking national office, or needing our political support. You people never learn. You killed Sardauna but underestimated how much the man was loved by his people, unfortunately, you are still suffering for the senseless killing. Achebe attacked Awolowo viciously and you, foolish Eze, fail to understand why the Yorubas are angry. Awolowo is as revered in the SW as Sardauna was in the North, your advise to Ndigbo in Lagos is narrow minded, counterproductive and dumb. |
Desola: Edo.girl an 'hater'? Prove it!Desola on my mind You quoted my post and asked the question above. No wonder my ears and other artifacts were ringing. |
hmmmmm, not sure what to make of this. (Reuters) - A gunshot was fired into President Barack Obama's downtown Denver re-election headquarters on Friday while campaign workers were inside but no one was struck, police said. |
This post shows the inadequacy of the Lagos traffic law. An exemption should be made for the leader of our Judiciary who chose not to cause more havoc by driving around with sirens and 10 or more car convoy, as the leaders of the legislative wing and executive wings do. Expecting the chief justice to move around Lagos like the rest of us, is foolish and equivalent to saying that GEJ and David Mark should drive around Lagos like the rest of us. You people should use your brains. I suppose you all would have preferred her to cause more traffic havoc by driving with police convoy and sirens. SMH |
@Jarus, I'm not sure you saw my post where I suggested that the NLers choose the winner of each debate. Since that post, a few other people have made similar suggestions and I'd strongly recommend that the rest of us have some sort of participation in choosing winners via poll - the idea of choosing the winners jointly (NLer and judges 50 - 50, 70-30 or ?) is not a bad one. I also suggested that after each debate, the judges should work on a document which itemizes the key points of both sides of the debate for publication here on NL, where the document will be accessible for reference by all and sundry. The output of the debates could serve a greater purpose than we may be willing to envision at the moment. What do you guys think about this? |
