debosky: Any generalization as you term it must go back to the roots of that religion and the behaviour of its primary proponents. Mohammed was violent in his propagation of the religion and those have come behind (now termed extremists) have only maintained the propagation of the violence initiated at its start.I’m afraid I don’t agree with the implied conclusion of the above i.e. Islam is a violent religion. The above is not enough, without the presence of bigotry, to reach such a conclusion. I am however not surprised by your aggressive condemnation of Islam as a violent religion. You’ve chosen to ignore the presence of violence in many regions of the world ranging from Ireland to Lebanon to the Pacific Basin and involving many religions from Christianity to Hinduism, and decided to associate Islam more than any other religion with violence. The Muslim conquest of Spain, the Crusades – which were not begun by Muslims -, and the Ottoman domination of eastern Europe have wrongfully provided a historical memory of Islam as being related to force and power. You and many in the western world continue use this as a basis to call Islam a violent religion. Moreover, you are probably using the upheavals of the past few decades in the Middle East and especially movements using the name of Islam and seeking to solve problems of the Muslim world created by conditions and causes beyond the control of Muslims to justify your stance. As far as violence in the sense of the use of unjust force against the rights of others and laws is concerned, Islam stands totally opposed to it. Rights of human beings are defined by Islamic Law and are protected by this Law which embraces not only Muslims but also followers of other religions who are considered as 'People of the Book (ahl al-kitab)'. If there is nevertheless violation in Islamic society, it is due not to the teachings of Islam but the imperfection of the human recipients of the Divine Message. |
Danka7777: Give honor to whom honor is due. General Sani Abacha, a bold leader, a strong leader, a fearless leader, who fought with the international powers on the control of Nigeria economy and oil, eventually, he was defeated and murdered. We, who know you, admire your tenacity to succeed under pressure, economic shackles, sanctions, vituperation, threats, are appreciative of your 5 years in service. You are developing a reputation for apparent reasonableness with your recent posts. May I recommend that instead of assuming that folks who may disagree with you are ignorant, you yourself support your stance with verifiable facts. Revisionist are numerous here, do not risk joining their fold. |
It seems to me as if any generalization should require the exhibition by a majority, of the acts or behavior being generalized. To take the behavior or a minute number of muslims or christians to conclude that any of these religions is evil, or its practitioners are evil, is actually senseless and possibly bigoted |
Your answer lies in one Yoruba adage "eni ale mu n'anle idi mo". na him be say "na person wey we strong pass(weaker person) we dey grope with prick without worrying about any resulting dirty slap. |
CHESSBOARD: Stingy Yoruba man, see the kind of food he gave Orji Uzor Kalu, Bread and stewI'm afraid you need to broaden your horizon enough to become aware of fine foods including the Yoruba 5 course meal. The 5 course meal starts with Yoruba with nicely sliced bread, followed by the remaining courses. What you see in the picture is the 1st of the 5 courses. |
LONG LIVE NIGERIA, THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH ![]() |
I thought JTF captured and killed this Shekau guy, why is he still apparently alive. He accuses the government of killing women and children and lying about arrested BH members. A war has now been declared on Emirs, Governors, and other BH enemies. The guy appears angry which tells me that JTF is making some headway. Both BH and JTF should stop attacking innocent Nigerians, women and children - this is unacceptable. I'm not sure Nigerians will mourn the demise of any Emirs or Governors who become collateral damage. This madness must be checked. YouTubevideo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txUJCOKTIuk&feature=player_detailpage The Islamic insurgent group, Jama’atu ahlis sunnah lil daawati wal jihad, popularly known as Boko Haram, has declared a full scale war on Northern leaders, governors, and officials in authority. |
The properties in question are said to belong to Ikemba's father. Would a knowledgeable person tell me why these siblings did not share the 38 properties among themselves after the death of their father Ojukwu Sr. and when Ikemba was alive? Why did Ikemba have to die before the sharing? What's the real story here? |
Wasn't Shekau killed by JTF last week? Was that his ghost in the video? Anyway the message is simply the ranting of an ant! If foolish GEJ has played his cards right, that Shekau boy would have been smoked out by now. SMH |
ikeyman00: ^^^^^ u mind telling us what really taking place in the northYou sound like an illiterate creating. This thread is not about North, open a new thread if u want to discuss North. Mum |
I'm sure this move was well reasoned. Would someone please tell us what programs were put in place to assist the displaced market women and other youths who make their living through business activities in the market? |
Is Bianca as bad as people are making her out to be? Do we have NLers who have another perspective? Something is not right about the way she is being treated and I am not convinced that her humiliation is self inflicted. |
Danka7777: But as I said before, the real fight is between Ikemba's older children and Bianca. These children will not let her have it as they want it too for their mothers. So these siblins, doctors, lawyers, engineers, who are primarily men, are running around fighting a woman about properties and disgracing the Ojukwu family name and ndiigbo, correct? All the family elders had to do was to summon Bianca and all parties involved and quietly resolve the issue. Instead they are all disgracing ndiigbo and you sir, are getting close to joining their gang. |
May God have mercy on our people. I'm afraid the impact of this flood will be felt across Nigeria for years to come. I awaid the federal government's plan for disaster relief. |
Lets assume that Danka is correct, we know that there are at least 38 choice properties in question, why then can't the said siblings honor Ikemba by allowing Bianca to keep the Ikoyi home? Ijukwu had custody of only 5 out of the 38 properties owned by Ikemba's father, the siblings should be dividing those among themselves and allow Bianca to keep the 5 which were in the custody of the Ikemba's. If greed would not allow them to do that, they should at least make an exception and let Bianca and Ikemba's residence in Ikoyi remain with Bianca. Greedy people. |
Bianca’s quit notice, an abomination -Okwuosa What a shame, I was expecting all parties to work things out amicably. The feud in the family of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu over the sharing of the property of their father, Sir Louis Ojukwu, took another dimension yesterday with a top confidant of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Sir Hon. Azuka Okwuosa, accusing Ikemba's siblings of committing abomination by giving his widow, Bianca, a quit notice from the late husband's residence less than a year after his demise. |
Back in 1993 The Lagos-based Daily Independent Newspaper on Thursday, June 12, 2003, published what it desperately commended to its readers as an important scoop on the "agenda and blueprint" of the "new administration" of President Olusegun Obasanjo.I suspect the same thing which happened to OBJ's big SNC plans or even worse will happen to this plan of GEJ's, that is even if the story is true. I'm sorry to say that expecting big ideas such as conducting a SNC from GEJ is like expecting Rick Ross to miraculously outrun Mr. Usain Bolt in a 100meter race. I dey laugh o. |
so you didnt read from the article where it clearly stated majority of those deported are not from Anambra and investigations were still ongoing
Majority = 51%, 65% 80%, 99%, or ![]() If 80% of those deported to the East were non Igbos, Obi would have made that very clear. Since he didn't do that, where did you get your 80% from? |
homerac7: @ Cleverly,I'm glad you are ready for a smooth discussion, but lets make it one without childish name calling. To engage me further, you'll have to communicate in Pidgin or proper English. I will not respond to any of your posts which contain abbreviated gibberish. Now, without preconceived notions and prejudice, what exactly is your disagreement with my posts? |
homerac7: ^Our people are certainly not the PDP. One would have thought you understood that, but you may have some prejudices which did not allow you to see what was obvious. One would also hope that you are not hiding your illiteracy and being a dullard, behind the silly abbreviations contained in your posts. |
What is wrong with these officials,is this the first time you are sponsoring women to Hajj. Why did the Saudis decide to deport the women this year and did not deport the ones who went to Hajj unaccompanied last year and before? Starting from your boss GEJ, you people have been disgracing our country in a way and manner we have never seen throughout the history of Nigeria. Even Malawi is insulting us, not to talk of Cameroon which opened up various dams which has caused the deaths of hundreds of Nigerians and cost us billions of naira. What was the Federal government's response to the flooding - an official said we have done our best!!!! SMH You people don fall our hand finish. 2015 is just around the corner. |
homerac7: What nonsense r ds? ds sort of stupeed mindset led ds nation down ds dark alley of pandemonium n u r still nursing it in Q3 2012? shame on u man, dts grossly foolish of u sir and ur post shows high sense of irresponsibility. u r an anti-thesis to every good man and woman working painfully and yet, tirelessly towards building a our society of better and free future. ur reasoning as displayed here sits in same type wt Boko Haram. May ur wishes fail by d powers of The Most High. may ideeots wt ur kind of thinking fail by any means to reach positions of influence in any corner of ds nation. and above all, may the best man/woman for d job rule ds land irrespective of tribe, tongue, language, religion and creed. You spent enough time writing your gibberish than you would have, expressing your views more succinctly. Please rephrase your thoughts so that we can respond appropriately. Thanks. |
Antivirus92: but it can swear out my head that 8/10 of the deportees are not igbos. So you want peter obi to dump them into the river niger before you know that they are not igbos. Fassholeiola is a callous man but peter obi has igboman blood inside him.Stop making up your own facts if you want to be taken seriously. The notion that 80% of the deportees are not Igbos is very significant and if true, Obi should have made that a major talking point because not doing so would make Obi, senseless, incompetent, and a dummy - I'm sure that is not what you are implying. @sheyuy, According to the story posted by the OP, Obi was said to have confronted Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, at the Governors’ Forum parley on the deportation issue. The Lagos governor was said to have denied knowledge of this. |
^^^^ Nice theory you have up there, but it does not explain why there has been more flooding along the River Benue basin, an area which is just downstream of the opened Cameroon dams. Benue was not dredged. Do you have any theory on the why flooding of Benue was worse that that of the River Niger? |
The bit about the Igbo deportees still living in shelters is eye opening and quite disgraceful. Equally disgraceful is the deportation of these victims in the first place. One can understand why Fashola is now denying being knowledgeable of the deportation. SMH |
Interesting Musiwa. May I ask you when were those dams on the Niger river built and when did Asaba become an entity? |
Insha Allah, once our people take control of power in Nigeria, we will forcibly retake Bakassi. The resulting war with Cameroon may be what Nigerians needs to become nationalists and patriots. Moda F the foreign bodies who ruled against Nigeria and may OBJ and his cohorts pay dearly for giving these people away. |
That dredging caused the massive flooding does not make sense to me. If anything, dredging should help to reduce flooding because one of its purposes is to gather up bottom sediments and removing them, thus allowing water to flow more freely. The opening of Cameroon dams is more likely a major factor. GEJ and his peeps need to look into this as a national security issue. If indeed the Cameroonians intensional or unintensional caused this flooding, Nigeria must demand some sort of control of those dams. |
What point is being made with this thread? |
Dear President Goodluck Jonathan, Please use the China technique against these jealous Malawians, who we know are as poor as a Catholic church rat. Bikonu, offer them N1billion financial aid, call it African Brotherhood grant, (PS Malawians have never seen that kind of money ). Tie a string to the grant which would require Nigerians to come in and manage the projects started with the grant, with the stipulation that 30% of the people employed for the projects come directly from Nigeria. Issokay to use rehabilitated MEND and Boko members in addition to some of our unemployed youths.Nwanne m, squeeeze the balls of Dangote, Odetola, Oyenuga, Dantata, a couple of rich bishops and Imams, OBJ, IBB, and of course Danjuma, to raise another N2billion within weeks. Sneek that N2billion into Malawi after the first project gets underway. Sir, use only N300million of that to buy up their radio stations and replace their key personnel with Nigerians. The rest of N1.7billion can be used to buy miscellaneous goodwill for Nigerians and control Malawian politics. Oga GEJ, if you do this and 3 of their best towns are not renamed, New Lagos, New Enugu, and New Kano, within 3 years, then my name is not ndu_chucks. |
omenka: Na photoshop! You are in denial, buddy. I understand your apprehension, the disgrace is a bit too much to take. Here's the source |
