<Quote>The fact that the obi of owa said that he is of nri ancestry makes all your post crap, the obi is the highest authority in owa,now go and sleep, onye iberibe</quote> Makes no difference to me if he is Owa, Edo or Nri, the Obi and all the igboland is an offshoot of Yoruba nation. That's what's important here. Hey Agbotaen, I got it from here don't bother replying their stubborness to force on you Igbo, you all are under the Oduduwa flag. Thank you so far for your contributions, I will take over from here. |
Is it police or ethnic propagandists feeding lies through news media? |
To the question " Are people of onucha-ugbo of Igbo descent"! The answer is no. The etymology of the name "Onucha", "Onuche", "Onitsha", "Onitcha" and many similarly spelt names as well as "Ugbo", "Igbo". . . .are origination of and with root meaning in Yoruba tongue. Therefore, Onucha-Ugbo or other forms of which it is spelt is indeed an adulteration and mispell of the original; Orisha-Igbo. |
Andre, where did Nri come from and what age period? Eze, sit back and learn. Get your snuff box handy, you gonna need it! |
No one in Nigeria has a Saudi citizenship. You get a Yoruba citizenship though. |
Ezeagu, You don't assign any date, it will be assigned for you. Sit back and calm down. In fact you all continue what you wee doing. When I'm ready its going to be done on a new topic with a new post. Soldier, "as you were" |
Eze is Yoruba from Igboland |
That's addressed to the fear people have about an imposition of religion on them. |
5000yr old, by whose account? |
<Quote>But first, let me ask you a question. Who is the number 1 Igbo tribalist on Nairaland? </quote> Hey Eze, Take that as Seun's sense of humor, nothing harmful. Igbo kwenu!! Lol |
I wonder if the proposal will get this much pushback if it was introduced by a white christian in tie and suit? What people ought to fear and question are mega pastors who in the name of Jesus are taking from you but not giving back. Islamic banking gives back what you give + more based on your equity in the sharing. |
Chyz, get your pen and paper ready for more notes on these place you all call Igboland but in actuality is an old Yoruba tributary. |
Abagworo, The truth of the matter is Igbo ancestry is traceable to an Old Oyo offshoot. I'm already on it, don't worry I will post the full account when I get all the materials together. I've wondered why there was not an Igbo kingdom (Nri was not a kingdom but rather a tributary). All the Great societies East of Yorubaland had a kingddom except Igbo. Why is that? You all are about to find out. Maybe Yoruba can create a Southern domain afterall on a stretch of commonwealth that goes West to East. |
Andre, Given your narratie above, I'm beginning to think Igbo is actually an offshoot of the Yoruba race. It explains why finding and placing your root has been so difficult; ts because we are looking for a far away ancient civilization when in fact we should be looking at Old Oyo to track and define your migrant path. I shall do the tracking. . . . .and trust me, I will find a home for you within the Yoruba ancestry. |
This is a discussion forum. The total approach to the problem is far greater and more realistic to attend to on ground than in a virtual room. She is accused, there are instruments of law enforcement that can immediately be activated to prevent and limit her access and thus curtail any fear that Mrs Jonathan will continue to steal money or fraudulent use of government money. This monitoring does not in any way excuse past behavior or culpability under the law. However, the wisdom I call for will prevent our entire nation from becoming a ridicule and mockery for a new and trendy approach to corruption. American image was severely dented when the sexual affairs of a sitting President, a casual and unobtrusive act for most statesmen, was broadcasted and sold to the world as a monumental sin against the canon of office. We are a laughing stock already, let's not make it worse by putting this woman's issues out there in the media. I'm sure you know they will find other things in her closets that might become more dramatic and sensational than accusation of fraud. Once those discorveries are made you cannot close them back up. |
The best thing to do is deferr on the accusations until Gej finished his term and then open a criminalinvestigation query against the wife. If you do that now you run the risk of sending a First Lady to jail. That's not wise, even though it may be the lawful step to take. Gej himself is likely to be a conspirator and be equally indicted but as a sitting President he has immunity which does not extend to family members. I could be wrong on the specifics of the constitution on that but definitely its unwise to jail a sitting First lady. This is not Phillipines, this is Nigeria. |
<Quote>vicenzo: Infact the issue here is not whether ika is igbo or not,we have since passed that stage in this thread, ezeagu's post solved that, the issue here is how ndiigbo should help anioma to reclaim, igbo communities in edo such as igbanke, ekpon and iru, while retaining oza people in agbor, that is the issue.</quote> Vicenzo, Would you like to lose Anioma before it has become a state? You are looking for real trouble now. Watch it! |
<Quot>alj_harem: I asked because u talk like the true son of the soil.So are u hausa by any chance </quote> Lol! I don't even know what you talking 'bout. |
Pagan, May your generations be cursed with far greater burden and destruction with which pagans in all history have been cursed and destroyed. |
Oh my, I regret the loss of that post because the questions you now ask were also covered in it. I will remember to use your suggestion for lengthy narratives. Anyway, I sensed from your writing that you are very philosophically minded. I see you as a great mind not because of your articulation but the spirit from which the thoughts originated. It will be appropriate to address you as such. AMOR4CE is not as honorable as AMORPHOUS. Also, I'm careful with numbers and their use as an identity. In your previous write you touched lightly on the 16 Odus. Ifa itself came from the Canaanites who were the original Hebrews. In Hebrew alphabeth the 16th character is "AYIN", which means "veiled" or "mystery". In Qabbalah and as well Sufi, AYIN is symbolised with the EYE. This could be interpreted as "The Third Eye" or the shrouded eye, which agrees with something veiled, which is what Ifa is. But get this, in Yoruba language what is eye? EYIN oju! Lookn there is too much in that to talk about. On the issue of hairdo with Sudanese. In the lost response I wrote the following: The Yoruba facial feature is same and interchangeable with the facial feature of the Kanemi (Kanuri) and same and interchangeable with the facial feature of the Nubian. We will talk some more. |
Heeyyy, lol! Watsup tpia? I said that for several reasons. Under the current Nigerian context Owa has protection against usurpation. We don't know if that security will be there in 10 or 20yrs. Owa is sitting on a border line of distinctly different cultures and languages - Edo/Igbo - and must be conscious of where its future lies. Saying Ika is independent of Edo and indepedent of Igbo is not enough, they will get swallowed up by one of the two. They have time, beginning now, to start a programme that align them with a choice. They clearly have turned down the Igbo option, then jump on the Edo one and in addition start cleaning up your language and culture to that effect. This is political talk! Agbotaen is stressing culture and demonstrating the richness of their language and customs, totally unaware of the Igbo political plot. Agbotaen need to bring an Ika man that's strongly ideological and can match them BS for BS! Lol. |
Agbotaen, Here is the problem you face - language and rituals! Igbo is going around looking for traces of language and rituals as a drill up to link with Nri. They are claiming you as Igbo clearly from that one angle alone. I am sure there are communities, like Owa that were settled by Ndigbo in those ages but the Igbo language lost to the host community. I don't see Ogbuefi or anyone else going after them and making them Igbo. I suspect now that they have eyes on you to snatch Owa it will eventually happen. It might take another 50yrs but they will do it unless your own people begin a counterprogramm of your own to become a non-Igbo community. The creation of Anioma will split the Ika commuunity and thereby accelerate your eventual swallow into Igbo. Once that happen they will wipe all traces of Bini/Edo from your language and rituals. You will be Igbofied! Lol! Its unfortunate that you have also distanced yourself from Edo and declared your independence. So as an independent community you now have to defend yourself independently and not count on Edo support. |
Ekt, There are several things hat need to be ironed out on this banking issue. First, the position, forget that its called "governor", is a ministerial post. All ministers are aide to the President. They assist with policies. How is Sanusi able to subscribe the nation to Islamic Banking without prior discussion and concurrence from Gej? Second, who owns the bank, Nigeria or Northern Nigeria? Third, will the Islamic principle be a drill down? In other words, will things such as dress codes for staff be subjected to islamic principles and guuidelines? Fourth, how is board appointment done and is executive positions open to all regardless of religion and tribe? Fifth, has the benefits been thoroughly discussed and are they valid, regardless of what its called, Islamic or Templar? |
