My friend, I love placing bets but the odds on your proposed prospect is half baked. PDP has defeated itself and does not need a ACN/CPC merger to kick it out of Aso. We are going to have the Bush/Republican syndrome of 2008 happen to us in Nigeria in 2015. . . . .anything but PDP is welcome, even a coalition of almjiri on the ballot will defeat PDP in 2015. You are better off placing prospect on whether or not ACN/CPC merge will actually happen. That's a hot speculation than anything else on the political landscape. |
. . . oh by the way, the first thing Boeing will ask for is the maintenance log books and certifications for all the engineers and technicians that ever performed maintenance on the plane (powerplant, avionics, frame, radio, . . .name it!) and God helps Mr Allison that they are all correctly certified, no maintenance schedule was missed and that the plane itself is airworthy. |
David Chukwumonso Allison is throwing spaghetti on the wall and watching to see if it will stick. Who knows?? Perchance,. . . . .something intangible might be uncovered making Boeing and P&W tangibly culpable. |
Question: Sir does senate hv power to amend the constitution dt govern CBN operatn?. . .too many unqualified questions in this article. The host must not be a subject expert on the topic of check and balance and the distribution of powers. I am unimpressed with this interview,. . . did not reveal anything new. |
Buhari by showing such bragadocciosness while dealing with Umaru Dikko and even contracting out the job to the Mossad's(isreal's fromidable secret service) most muslim's worst arch enemy,. . . the surveillance, abduction, drugging, transporting, concealing and shipment was all carried out from end-to-end by Nigerian operatives. Not a single foreign agency was involved! |
igbo boy: igbo dey sweet you for mouth...thread concerning urhobo and ijaw don turn to igbo now?. . .we brought free education, free health care, introduced mass communication through radio and tv to the populace, introduced equal rights for women to vote. Everyone of these programs was successful and grandfathered into legacies that Nigerians enjoy today from North to South, from West to East. Now,. . . tell us what action your people have taken that has resulted in successful social progress for the country? You tree-hopping baboon!! |
GEJ is conscious of what his Presidency means for the Ijaws. They have struggled for many decades, along with the Ogonis, to correct the systemic economic discrimination against their land and peoples. In developed countries, landowners are issued monthly checques for use of their land (land lease) to explore and mine oil. In addition, they are also issued monthly checques as rolyalty (sometime as high as 15%) for sale of the mined product. Furthermore, the leasing oil enterprise is responsible for all the land management (waste disposal, toxic control, water quality test, etc. . . ) Why can't the landowners in Niger Delta enjoy the same rights as their counterparts in other parts of the globe? In the helm of governmental control and authority, GEJ is trying to correct the wrongs. However, he also realise the consequence of his actions. . . .the Ijaw nation will never smell the corrider of power for perhaps another 50yrs after him. So it is imperative that while it lasts, he sqaunders the largese on his ethnic people by giving them posts and power. |
1. Yoruba was deputy to him in a military rule, we must not return as his deputy in a civilian rule. What's wrong that he cannot serve as deputy to Fashola? 2. It does not matter if Yoruba was the last President, we have the reserve to run for Presidency again and succeed one another. 3. A muslim/muslim ticket is legitimate and valid for ballot. 4. If I hear another Yoruba person in here call for Fashola or any Yoruba man or woman to serve as VP to another ethnicity on top of the ticket I will fire a salvo of shots into your skull. |

Piyke: I perceive he will kill a lot of people if he is to become president. . . a lot of people need to be killed!! |
Ibos have been warned in uncounted number of ways to drive home the message that Biafra cannot co-exist with Nigeria on the soil and dominion under the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Therefore hoisting and flying a Biafran flag on Nigerian soil is an act of confrontation and will be interpreted, correctly so, by the Nigerian Armed Services as an act of territorial violation and should be summarily terminated anywhere it is encountered. It is unfortunate that these people lost their lives but c'mon, a word is enough for the wise. . . .Biafra is dead and should remain buried! Re-brand who you are now and what you are about in future and stop clinging to your failed attempts in past to dominate supremacy of Ibo over the rest of the country. You are bothered in all directions and caged in by other ethnic groups, no sea coast to your advantage, no international border to your advantage. . . .your attachment to Biafra will slowly lead to your complete wipe out on the soil of this country. |
GEJ and his low creek mentality. . . .in what honor is he renaming UNILAG to Moshood Abiola? What contributions did Moshood make to the advancement of academic scholarship? MKO should be honored for his efforts in enterprise and industrial productivity and in that line would have been more apperopriate to name a faculty building (Economics, Industrial Engineering, etc. . .)in his honor and not the whole institution. What else should one expect from Beaf's kin? Befittingly demonstrating fisherman mentality. lol. |
May their souls rest in peace |
Mimiko has lost his mind for joining mouth to praise the stupidity of rewarding criminality. Of all the possible areas he could train on he has chosen his state to be the base for training killers. |
talk true: THE Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, warned Wednesday that if the present autonomy being enjoyed by it was removed, the nation’s economy stands the risk of collapsing. We have a democratic structure on paper that does not translate to democratic practices on the ground and where our government is structured on democratic ideals, the principles and actions of the society itself is far from democratic. It is well established that the constitution empowers the CBN to operate its budget independent of an external supervision or approval. The intent of the drafters may have been different and initially meant to subject CBN to oversight by NASS, but unfortunately that intent was not communicated in text. The CBN has upper hand on this one and is lessons learnt for the politicians to pay attention and do due dilligence when drafting or passing bills into law. Outside of what CBN voluntarily submits to, there is no statutorily binding power obligating a compliance to scrutiny by an external authority. C'est Finis! |
On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his ministers that the phenomenon of “illegal work infiltrators” was “very grave,” and that it “threatened the social fabric of society,” Israel’s national security and national identity. He also warned that unless action is taken, the migrants could “inundate” the country and “cancel out its image as a Jewish and democratic state.”They are not in the country illegally but what does the Prime Minister mean by the highlight? What is illegal work and what illegal work are they involved in? Zionism wants to infiltrate other people land but does not want its own land infiltrated. . .bunch of fvckers! Well, we have their kins here. . . .since they dont want Sudanese and Eritreans will they please evacuate the Ibos (Heeboes/Hebrews) from here and resettle them in Tel Aviv? |
Gbawe, You don't believe that people will sit here and just watch their kins at home be slaughtered off by the Northerner, do you? Boko haram has survived JTF and all other Governmental security strategies to wipe them off thus far because the backbone of their operation and support is outside and far away from Nigeria. The strategy of defense has morphed. . . you will need us and we will need you, so do not discount what we say as irrelevant because our feet are not with you on the ground. Hausa/Fulani are bragging and playing on the psyche of the South to yield to threat of bloodshed knowing it has always worked effortlessly for securing concessions from the Southerners. They are not that s t u p i d to make the coastal peoples their enemies, that will choke off their supply chain and accessibility to the market stream. They know this and is reason they are now looking for support in West in case they loose friendliness with East and South. If West, East and South block them off that will be the end of the Emirates! I must ask you, what will the South loose by doing just that? |
^^^^ This is quite simplistic and naive.
. . .taken in background with the dog and baboon threat, would you say it is far from the reality on the ground? Truth is bitter! Buhari took the liberty to make that threat because he believes in the effect of that myth to scare the South. It's not about rigging. . . he could care less one way or another how the Presidency is won as long it's a Northerner, the birthright owner, that wins it, otherwise there will be bloodletting. Whose blood I dare ask, the Northerner's or the Southerner's? simplistic and naive is overused. . . find some other dimsissive word to shut me up. |
Chucks, The reality on ground can be changed if there is enough awareness to demystify the myth that Hausa/Fulani will bring out its slaughtering dagger when offended. The reality on ground is that people still have fear of the "mythical Hausa/Fulani dagger" and they do not want to be slaughtered by it. Once people understand that they have access and right to own a dagger and to slaughter an offending Hausa/Fulani, then they will know how to bring the Northerner under control and manipulation. |
Thanks Tony. I am still researching on Yoruba and making quite a number of new discoveries, particularly in the rites and symbolism with life. I cannot at moment commit to do anything on any other ethnic unless if there is an trail linking it with Yoruba. I can take a look at Luo for possible link but wont do a deep dive. |
Gbawe, I read your response on page 9. Part of the recipe for forging ahead in progress is to wean the North of it's birthright mentality. They do not have a birthright to rulership or to bloodshed. If as you suggested West should compromise for peace by putting Fashola for VP to a Northerner on top of the ticket, then it is a position of yielding. The West must not yield, even in the face of terror and carnage. In fact, I am in support of humbling the Northerners by denying them rulership for the next 20yrs. Let the Presidency rotate in the South and the Middle Belt and let the North learn to get along peacefully with everyone, instead of everyone else compromising to get along with the North. |
What does sim card do? Define its function and a Yoruba word can be coined for it. |
Ekt, I support your grievance on our penchance for rewarding non-performance. The end determines the mean. . . if we are looking for social progress then we ought to reward actions that contribute tangibly to society and improve life for people. We need to create indices for measuring and guaging performance. Politicians promise a lot to get our attention and support and unfortunately there is no voter advocate group that keep a tab, to supervise, and hold politicians' feet to fire once they get in office. Fashola is an unusual politician in the Nigerian landscape, he is a model and ideal of what we would love the rest to do. He is self supervised and self-accountable. None of them have an external and independent supervision body looking over their shoulders but Fashola's output and results are self-evident. Why should we go searching and poring through archives and news to get evidence of work done by his peers in other states? Their work should be out there on the ground for everyone to see. Jmaine, I love you brother but ask anyone here and they will attest to the fact that I am strongly against people throwing and flashing "intelligence" as an index of worthiness and ability. Intelligence is good for what it does but in this age and time, everyone is educated and intelligent and it is time we stop flashing "intelligence" as an edge over the next person. SHOW ME WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AND CAN DO. . . .rather than TELL ME HOW THINGS CAN BE DONE. We must ask Aliyu and anyone else seeking national reward to show us "what they have done" with the opportunity they are currently sitting on for past years. |
It should come as no surprise at all. Democracy and Capitalism go hand in hand. You will not get one without the other. . . democracy empowers you to make choice, capitalism narrows your choices to a pre-selected pocket. You think wal mart is bad. . . wait till they start telling you, in the name of democracy, how you will spend your money. |
This is putting media and instant messaging to good and effective use. Richie Boi, God Bless you for the quick response and alert. I dont know the circumstance of his death but only God knows. |
I smell some serious hypocrisy here. I'm not surprised though. Many posters are suspicious that this was ''staged'' or an ''arrangee''. I wonder if they they would have shared the same sentiments if the bomber's name was Yakubu Bello or Aliyu Adamu, or any other muslim/northern name. And you wonder why this country hasn't progressed.........when bonafide bigots proclaim in loud voices that other people are bigots. #smh
. . . his name was not a factor in my consideration at all. 386 explosives is highly fatal, yet his captors did not immediately clear the area and lock it down for public safety, instead they went immediately into the bag and started bringing the explosives out into view. If he was there to blow the place up, then apparently the ammos are live. You don't handle live ammos in the manner they did with these 386 units. We sam the outcome in Kaduna with that mobile police that approached one with indifference. Moreover, if they were live ammos, then they have damaged the government case against him in the manner the evidence were handled. With a very good lawyer he could get the charges dismissed out of court. |
PhysicsQED: This sounds plausible, except why would the man publicly humiliate himself or ostracize himself from society? Now that his face is known it's not like he can just change his name, move to a different state and everything will be alright.. . . depends on whatever is promised to him for reward. Isn't it the promise of virgins that make some people abandon themselves to a failed mission? |
It is a good time to talk and develop a framework for State Police and keep whatever agreements exist as a future implementation. It is ill-advised to implement State Police considering the current national political landscape. A premature implementation will end up with certain legacy problems and when ultimately an ideal political condition does arrive its suffered inefficiencies will be too difficult to reverse. |
John Akpabu was not a suicide bomber. He was part of a staging for a dramatic event at a future date. His detection and arrest were choreographed. |
