George cannot match up to tm quality

it might be the fitting and styles u prefer

tm has been arnd for yrs

gearge shirts are prob made by kids in india!
thats why i have only one george shirt(i think this was bought in america), your spot on wrt the fitting, anytime ppl see the fit they think its a TM. . .

one sad thing is how some ppl buy them TM classics that your s'posed to slim-fit yourself and now start wearing them up and down the place

. . . i also remember them days of thomas pink sef, but then i was strictly an adidas person, i hadn't seen the light yet! grin

@ topic

Had a hectic time today after returning from two days vacation. . . . felt like 10 given the sheer quantity of mail and requests that I met today.

February is getting more and more busy - submitted reports due on the 14th on the 16th (even databases must celebrate vals  grin) and I'm currently hustling to get data ready for the 19th, coupled with approval from head of finance. . . only for some woman to send me a request asking for MORE information by the 26th!! Don't these people know I still have a life outside of work?

The unit re-organisation is going on full pace - the new structure was announced at the weekend, as fate would have it, when I was on vacation.  grin

Everyone's on edge, waiting to know if they still have a job or if they have to move to the frozen north, team morale is really low.

Thank God some of us are exempt from the changes - not a bad thing to be low on the food chain in times like these.  wink

Need to start crunching my numbers soon - full year emissions forecasts are due like yesterday, and I'm still not done with my 'new' job yet. Maybe I can use Fourier Transforms too.  cheesy

I seriously need to hand over some of these routine tasks to other people - I can't claim to have moved to another job role and still be doing the old tasks plus the new tasks on the same pay. Either they double my money (I wish  grin) or I leave one set of tasks.

Big meeting is tomorrow. . . .been brushing up on the e-learning courses to refresh my technical jargon - dem go hear am when I start blowing grammar.  grin
thats prolly why. . .lol

AjanleKoko:

Don't be too quick to celebrate.
Except if you no do postgrad in engineering sha. Particularly control or comms.
nonlinear control and DSP is mostly about fourier.
comm what? or con what? tufia o. . .the only calculations imma be doing are load flows o. . .hopefully i'm glad i postponed the idea in time though, ppl have been recieving rejections left right and center. . .

^^ dont mind them

its a classic example of fashion illiteracy

in nigeria, most of the men wear it cos it might be considered as expensive, givin them levels'

in this country english tailors are known for one thing and one thing only

they cut wonderful shirts

no one cuts like them, the shirts are neat- fitted awesomely and flatterin

but these africans dont no that

anyways the english arent complainin at leadt they sell more now!

dayuum these nails look at all the errors!
well you hv a point sha. . .on both counts too! (though i've seen some awful looking TM's i think the're called classics)

my fav shirt is a george(the brand they sell in ASDA) the cut of that shirt is bloody

my TM's come next(only the fitted ones pref with darts sef. . .), then there's this shirt maker 'giant', fitted shirts are IT, i wouldn't be caught dead in anything else

FamilyRe: Quarter Of Parents Avoid Disciplining Their Children For Fear Of Upsetting Them. by netotse(m): 5:11pm On Feb 16, 2010
july123:
One in four parents won't discipline their children for fear of upsetting them, a study revealed today.

Researchers found that both mothers and fathers shy away from telling off their children because they don't want to be seen as unfair or too strict.

A third of parents admitted avoiding keeping their child in check in public because they didn't want others to think they were being too harsh.
Discipline: Parents shy away from scolding children for fear of upsetting them

Discipline: Parents shy away from scolding children for fear of upsetting them

And more than half (55 per cent) of those polled said they dished out less discipline than their own parents did.

Despite this, more than one in three said they feared a lack of discipline could lead to their child getting into trouble in future.

Three in ten parents admitted they were a 'pushover'.

A spokesman for Cadet150, which carried out the study to mark the 150th anniversary of the Cadet Forces, said: 'Discipline is all part of growing up and it's important for children that they are taught the difference between right and wrong.

'It seems children these days get a far easier ride than parents did twenty or thirty years ago.

'Our survey suggests mums and dads tend to avoid ticking off their children because it's easier than having to deal with them kicking up more of a fuss.

'They don't want to be seen as too strict and not enough of a friend their kids feel comfortable talking to."  The survey questioned 2,000 parents on their attitudes towards discipline.

Nine in ten adults considered themselves to be well-disciplined as a child - with six in ten being smacked or sent to their bedroom and almost half being ordered to bed early.

One in five adults said they were banished to bed without dinner, while one in ten had their 'ears boxed' or their mouths washed out with soap.
you shoulda added 'not in nigeria' to the topic

i'm giving my first salary this year not because of anything a pastor said but because by doing so i want to tell God 'You mean more to me than all this'(. . .personally, i like the what the israelites were to recite after giving the priest their firstfruit in deut 26: 5-. . .'my father was a wandering aramean. . .' cos to me they're saying 'Lord it was You that took care of me, and here i am now')

i feel what is important about first fruit is your motive for doing it, and it need not be your entire salary, it could be a day, a week, just part of it. . .
You should inform the pastor definitely.
Also inform the detectives at the local police department, the district attorney at the court house, the butcher at the local grocery store and if you have time the mechanic that regularly services your car.

thanks guys
here is the problem.
sometime ago, i discovered my dvd player wasn't working. i asked for help here and pcbusayo gave me this link where i can fix it. when i clicked on "fix this problem", it gave me an error message that my browser is not supported and i should use IE 8 or 9. the IE 8 on my computer has been giving me problems for some time and i never thought i would need it till this dvd player. i've never needed the dvd player more than now. pls i need suggestions cry cry cry
u cld try downloading another program to play your dvd's, if you're stuck on that one, it could be a lil work but we might be able to solve it if you can paste a screen shot of the error message you recieve when you try to use your internet explorer,( which would lead to us having to ask you a lot of questions)

also you could try downloading the IE9 from a source other than microsoft

update

i went back to look at some of your last posts and i finally understand that you mean dvd drive not player. . .it seems there is no way round fixing your ie8 problems. . .i'm assuming you use vista, so use printscreen to copy your screen and past the error message here. . .

I have a compaq 8710p. There was a time the power cable fell on the floor while it was connnected.

since that time, whenever i switched off the laptop and disconnect the power, the ethernet port will be blinking as if there is an activity and if i leave it like that for 5 hrs, the power of the battery will be drained.

If i connect the power to the laptop and the other end of the power is not connected NEPA, the LED light at the converter point will come ON as if its plugged to NEPA. which means, it is being powered by the battery of the laptop. This started after the power cord fell on the floor.

Please what is the solution cause my battery keeps draining anytime i disconnect it from power.

thank you as i expect a solution.
na so e easy reach?

you need to get someone to look at that computer, this isn't the type of thing we can help you with, it seems your motherboard was affected when it dropped and seeing as we cant physically see the computer, there's lil we can do. as per your lan thingy, you cld try to uninstall just before you shut down and see if that'll stop it from draining your battery

i'm browsing at work for the last time, i'm officially leaving this dam today, so that means bye-bye to 24/7 electricity, soldiers guarding you, and peace and quiet, people liking you just because you're a corper . . .the downs: having goats shit on your front porch, seeing more animals than people, hearing people speak in hausa(even when we're in the switchyard), having to wait for shift bus or 'abeg-sir', being around the many incompetent people that make up a large percentage of the nigerian power sector and a host of other things.

it also means hello to decent looking buildings, girls i can actually have decent conversations with, a proper internet connection among others.

dont worry, i'm not abandoning this thread. . .i'm temporarily resuming work with mumsie asap, she's a M&E(monitoring and evaluation) consultant and she works from home(was a civil servant for donkey years though), at least i will have funding for my womanisingphilanthropic activities. grin
