Chaiks I just remembered now there is a certain scholarship by the German govt given to students before coming to Germany for certain courses . its called daad scholarship and Nigerians can benefit from it if dia course falls under it. You can Google search it. Daad scholarship!

OK @nevilbot. Of course if I am opportuned to be in Germany, I I'll learn the language at least to a point of every day conversation. Please d scholarship for living expenses, in which school can one search for it? Am extending my search to Germany alongside Estonia. But the block account is my huddle. Like how much can one expect to mk from part time job in Germany?which city and school are you in and does Germany permit easy transition from study to eventual settlement? I seriously wish I made to Dat side like u guys. Imagine finishing well in Nigeria but no job. At least if there is job here, one can hope to save up for d block acc. But it sucks. Let's say if I do ielts, together with a gud sop and cgpa of 4.49, can one stand a gud chance for full study grant over there? I appreciate ur responses all through.
Like I said scholarships don't come easy in Germany bcus the schools are tuition free so d bliv is why do u need scholarship again. But some schs offer living expenses to outstanding students who are already studying. This is not an info u can get while not yet a student as its usually in house via student emails.

So dey give grants to dia students who av good grades not for newly admitted students just coming in. Your grade before coming to Germany has nothing to do with u getting a subsidy on your arrival. D criteria used depends on d sch giving it and it is only to students who av already finished ist or second semesters. So if u need scholarship before u can fund your trip abroad, I will advice u to look else where like USA and Canada and not Germany cus without a block acct or a German resident sponsor, u won't get the visa

As for how much u can make while working, depends on d job contracts. Student mini jobs where u pay no tax, u must not earn more than 450€ per month. Midi jobs where u pay tax is max 850€ monthly while u can earn above that during holiday months of august and September. But mind u, u pay monthly rent (btw 220- 450 monthly) and monthly health insurance of 80€ if u are still below 30 and up to 171€ monthly if u are above 30. How much u spend on feeding and others depend on your life style

@nevilbot, gud to know u v been in Germany for a while. How's life in Germany? Are you studying and if do they give scholarships that covers d living expenses?
Life is fine in Germany but can be finer if u speak German well. Dia are scholarships to cover living expenses but dey are scarce and don't come easy so we just get along by doing part time jobs as we all have work permit as students

they have a session for january which is when am looking to start.
If you want to travel with a child, u can but ur block acct fee will be above 8700€ that a single fellow is required to pay. All education is free for everyone in Germany except kindergarten. As for hubbies and wifeys going with u, its possible and dey get a permit but u need to speak to d embassy on how to process the visa for all of u as d process is not sumtin I'm aware of

Hello guys am new here

recently started considering germany after canada decided to take forever in responding to PGC visa applications and since the amount i wantd to spend dere wud earm me a MBA degree (about 7M naira) in Germany

just a few pointers needed pls.

does one get 18months work permit after a 1year masters study?
can one apply for Permanent residency during the 18months period and after how many years after PR can one apply for citizenship
After buying health insurance is one completely covered?

I am leaning towards applying to Schiller International University for my MBA. i have sent them an email as i finished with a 2.2 and mentioned my work experience and certifications all in IT. They have indicated that my work experience could be leverage for the academics insufficiency so i would be considered.

Is anyone here scholling in Heidelberg. Also if i wanted to travel with a child would it complicate things?is education free for minors?do hubbies get work permits?

they have a session for january which is when am looking to start.
No, you can't apply for permanent resident during the 18 months. You qualify for Permanent resident after staying 5 yrs in Germany and u qualify for d German passport after staying for 8 yrs.

But also note that ur years used studying qualify as half to your permanent resident status meaning when counting d no of years, if you used 5 (msc+ bsc) years to study it only counts as 2.5 years while full year counts only wen u start working full time after graduation or u stsrt phd as phd is recognized as a full time job if its the one u get a contract for. So if u do a 3 year phd, it counts as 3 yrs. Meaning in your case if u only do a 2 yr MSC, den u av only gotten 1 yr of d needed 5 yrs to qualify for PR. Your 18 month job hunting period will also count as 9 months towards your PR. Meaning In all by d time your 18 elapse u only av used 1 yr and 9 months towards PR.

I hope u get my explanation?

And as for health insurance, u pay monthly for it to remain covered for as long as u stay in Germany. Its a monthly payment thing that u must not default or u get a fine for each month u default

According to the students here, you can earn an average of 4euros per/hr.Legally you can't work in other big schengen countries but there are jobs called black jobs that pays 8.5euros per/hr which is available in Germany. I stand to be corrected
And who says he can just come from Estonia and work the 8.5€ per hour job in Germany without the German resident permit? Sometimes I laff wen read abt d expectations of Nigerian youths online abt coming to Europe working and hammering big.

Plz don't be dcieved , he can't come to do holiday jobs in Germany if he does not av d papers. The so called black jobs are rare and don't pay that 8.5€ as 8.5€ is d legal minimum wage so y will a job that is under d table pay u that much. I av bin in Germany since 2014 and getting those under table jobs is like going thru d needle eye cus Germany is a paper country

Were you able to transfer via azimo or you just checked if they still have Nigeria in the countries list.
A friend of mine in kleve still used azimo around 5pm German time yesterday and it went thru in a jiffy. And Nigeria is still listed on azimo as at this morning.

After going thru d CBN secular, I think d CBN point of contention is that des companies do not transfer d euro or dollar equivalent of wat d Nigeria banks pay out in d sent foreign currency. Dey maybe found a way of sending naira instead. So wat CBN is saying is if a Nigerian in USA or Europe sends money to Nigeria, pay d Nigerian banks in d foreign currency and not in naira while d Nigerian bank will pay into d receivers acct in naira. I guess its a way to increase d amount of forex in circulation and I don't think that is too much to ask.

Just hope dey sort it out quickly

Money transfer service to Nigeria suspended

Dear customer,

As you may have seen in the media, almost all international money transfer operators have been forced to suspend transfers to Nigeria.

Unfortunately, WorldRemit and Azimo are among them.

This has happened because of drastic and unforeseen action taken by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Our local partners have been told they can no longer process transfers to bank accounts.

There was no advance warning that this was going to happen and the money transfer companies affected had no opportunity to appeal.

WorldRemit believes this action to be unfair and we are currently contesting it.

In the mean-time, we are not able to accept new money transfer requests to Nigeria.

We are working to complete all pending transfers. In the limited number of cases where this is not possible, we will communicate with you and arrange a refund.

Our mobile airtime service is unaffected.

If you have previously sent money to Nigeria with us, we will provide updates on the situation by email.

Kind regards,
The WorldRemit team
I got the same mail from world remit but azimo is still working cus dey didn't send such mail and after I got d wr mail, I went to azimo straight and transfer to Nigeria was still on. I don't get wat is wrong with this CBN and I dey see hand of western union in this one. Make dem no go try rubbish Ooo cus its azimo all d way!!

and end-receiver documents from European buyers?

The university sensed that Jamb was no longer a credible means assessing aspirants, so they adopted the postume mechanism for optimal appraisal of aspirants. And besides there is need to abate the number of those to secure admission into universities because the available slots in public universities(especially first generation varsities) are very limited when compared to the myriad and infinite number of aspirants or applicants.
I disagree with u sir on d credibility of jamb back in d days wen dia was no putme. To pass jamb then was like going thru d needle eye. If u scored 200 then sef na to do thanksgiving service. Jamb was the hardest and strictest exam known to Nigerian school cert leavers then only for putme to come and mess it all up. Putme came abt not to rectify any jamb inadequacies but to serve as means for extra income for unis.

Take for instance, some unis will sell putme form for students who picked them as second choice, allow dem sit for exam only to refuse to release dia scores claiming dey are not admitting second choice pickers. This is sumtin dey won't say before selling d forms oo. Lautech does dis very well.

It was also after d advent of putme that unis started admitting ridiculous nos of students more than dia capacity, they use the cover of d exam to pack everyone into d schools. Lsutech again is an example here. Wen it was only jamb, admission was very restricted to wat facilities dey had.

Also the standard of jamb even went down with d advent of putme cus na den we begin to hear of ridiculous jamb scores that students could not defend. So all your reasons dont hold water to me. Its actuslly d opposite. Scraping of putme is good radiance to bad rubbish

My question to u plz is who did the universities consult in the ist place when they started post utme back then? Did any law back up the practice of putme?

Unis just woke up and started it to make money and we became cool with in cus we are used to lawlessness. When some of us entered uni , it was only jamb and jamb then had credibility so if no one was consulted to start it, I see no reason y anyone will be consulted to scrap it.

After extensive search and research, i came to discover that the official Estonia visa processing embassy on behalf of estonia in Nigeria is the belgian embassy in abuja

Estonia is represented in issuing visas to Estonia by Belgium.

For more information concerning visa applications in Nigeria, please consult VFS'website: http://www.vfsglobal-be-ng.com.

For more detailed information concerning documents to be submitted for visa application please contact the Embassy of Belgium.

9, Usuma Street, Maitama
Abuja
Nigeria
Phone +234 806 979 22 33
e-mail: visa.abuja@diplobel.fed.be
http://www.vfsglobal-be-ng.com

this info is according to the Republic of Estonia ministry of foreign affairs website http://vm.ee/en/nigeria-abuja so with this, i do not think the indian or uk or egypt or any other country route to get to Estonia will be necessary. Just get a schengen visa issued by the embassy of belgium and with it you can enter Estonia without having to go apply for another Estonia visa in india or UK. Just enter belgium ist, then move straight to Estonia to apply for your permit.

That is the result of my search. I hope i am right and this info is useful in saving stree

1] I think the first thing is to get the admission, then as you may have read on these thread since the Estonian embassy is not in Nigeria (if you are from Nigeria) then you have to go to the nearest one. I am not sure but thinking it might be an advantage for you to help your younger ones to Germany if possible to do the Visa thing there.

admission -> admission letter, confirmation from school, required docs for visa -> apply for visa and trp -> come to estonia.

Generally, I think the process of getting visa by Study purpose requires stody dcoumets (admission letter and co) then other documents regarding funds, confirmation, flights, health insurances, etc... this may vary with different embassies though smiley

2] Yes, they will require proof of fund and I believe a statement of account could suffice in this case except there is another development
3] There are prospect of part time job, to my own understanding, even full time job if you get one. I think there is a better chance with IT jobs since this is what Estonia sells. I cannot assure a 100 percent correctness in this, since I only know a little. My bosses here can speak better on this. cheesy
4] yes, the official language is NOT English but yes, people are surviving and by my experience it is possible, just that some jobs might be difficult to get because of the language, however language is one of those issues, and may not necessarily be a BIG problem (depends)
Thanks, I will keep here updated if she gets admitted

Hello everyone,

I came across this forum while searching on study in Estonia for my younger one. I have more than enuf info on how to apply and schools to apply to but where I seem not to find info is the visa application requirements and process if one gets the admission. I have read thru some pages here and I saw people talking abt India route or UK route and it left me confused

Plz I av the following questions.
1) after securing admission, what are the process and requirements for securing an estonia visa.
2) how do dey require proof of funding to be shown cus I'm presently in Germany and I know Germany requires something called a blocked acct before one can get a study visa
3) what are the prospect for part time jobs while studying? Are they available or not?
4) since the official language is Estonian, can an English speaker survive before he gets a hang of the language.

Thanks as I look forward to your answers

I will support the Iceland model for long term continuity goals. They signed largerback with a clause that an Icelandic coach must be his assistant. They eventually made them joint coaches to the euros and we saw the result.

So for me, Le Geun for coach with Yussuf as his assistant so that he can get more training and exposure to take over in the future.
