For those who attacked me recently thinking I only paint nice pictures that are not d reality on ground in Germany, attached is d picture of a Nigerian who came to Germany like any of us, did her bsc and MSC here in Fulda and got a job in Munich and got married last week to another Nigerian guy who came here also as a student. D wedding held also on German soil Funny enough, I av always come across the success stories of Nigerians here. That is not to say d success comes on a platter of gold like some people think I implied but if they can do it then I can. 8 Likes 1 Share

maestrojay: Wat I did was use my brother's company name with our flat in Lagos as company address. The sch was none wiser cus my residential address in sch records was in ondo and not Lagos. So dey sent it and I still av it with me till now as I only sent certified copies to unis in Germany. Another option is get ur student copy which most schs will give u by hand, certify copies of it and send to d German unis. Dey don't care if its student copy or school copy dey get so far its a certified copy 1 Like |

So u av to get sense and outsmart ur sch ni by tricking them to sending it to u by making dem think dey are sending it to a company in Nigeria that needs it for ur job application. willy2000: My guy may not is not the same as can not. May not simply means u av a choice not to but if u insist u want to, dia is no law anywhere to stop u so far u are above 18 years old. I am not saying it is easy as ABC but my point is contrary to wat eke said, it is possible. And mind u, of all d foreign embassy of Nigeria that I checked, only Germany says u av to go to Nigeria to do it. Others simply requires u to fill forms , pay the fees, submit ur nigerian passport and wait till dey get back to u. The ist page of d Nigerian passport says it is issued by d president but u and I know d president does not even see it when u get it. It is just a mere declaration in d name of d President d same as renouncing it will be a declaration in the name of the president. http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1271619 that link is the story of a woman who renounced her Nigerian citizenship and nothing happened. So if any one wants to, it is doable. I rest my case |

willy2000: I still don't see any difference BTW d wiki reference which is a summary of d section and d full one u quoted. The argument is not if d president approves it or not, d argument is if its possible to even try it in d ist place and from d constitution u and I citied, it is possible to try it. D President approving it or not is if u are seen as person of value or if d country is at war. And I av seen someone who tried it and it was approved and he did not even need to go to Nigeria to get it done |

Eke40seven: I dont know d law u are quoting or incidence u are mentioning but wat I just know is that I know a Nigerian here married to a German who renounced is Nigerian citizenship. He has being here even before I was born and had both Nigerian and German passport but according to him, he does not see the benefit of having the Nigerian passport cus wen he travelled sumwia and had issues, it was d German embassy there that stood up for him and d German passport gives him more travel freedom and protection. So the man went to Berlin and renounced.even when he goes to Nigeria, he travels as a German with his German pass and prefers to apply for a Nigerian visa wen going home. Now to the law you are referring to, I will attach infos from various Nigerian embassies RENUNCIATION OF NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to inform all prospective applicants who desire to renounce their Nigerian citizenship that the power to approve renunciation of Nigerian citizenship or restoration of same is the sole prerogative of Mr. President, as enshrined in Chapter III, Article 29, sub. Section 1-2, of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999). Kindly note, therefore, that such powers are NOT TRANSFERABLE and that the process can only be carried out in Nigeria. Furthermore, please be informed that a citizen of Nigeria by birth may not renounce his Nigerian citizenship, being that he is allowed, under Nigerian Law, to acquire the citizenship or nationality of a second country, without the necessity to renounce the citizenship of the country of his/her birth (Nigeria). Embassy of Nigeria, Berlin, Germany 27 July, 2011 The law says may not and not can not. Embassy Of Nigeria Sweden Nigerian Embassy Sweden for Denmark, Finland and Norway RENUNCIATION OF NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP Posted by Embassy of Nigeria Sweden Print Friendly Nigerians wishing to renounce their Nigerian citizenship should complete and present the requirements below: 1). A formal application letter, duly signed by the applicant. 2). Payment of 500 SEK renunciation fee and 200 SEK administrative fee. (Please include the receipt of payment) 3). A duly completed application form. Renunciation (1.6 MiB) 4). Original Sworn affidavit for renunciation of citizenship in a Nigerian court of law. 5). Two copies of recent passport photographs. 6). Original Certificate or letter of identification from Local government of origin. 7). Original Birth certificate. . Original international passport. 9). Original letter from UDI. 10). A self-addressed envelope (Applicants in Sweden should include postage stamps worth 90SEK and applicants outside Sweden, 10 international postage coupons). REQUIREMENTS FOR RENUNCIATION OF NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP 1. Formal application to the Embassy by the individual renouncing his/her Nigerian citizenship. Include your current address and telephone number, please. 2. Applicant must surrender his/her Nigerian passport to the Embassy. 3. If there is any particular office/individual the applicant requires the Embassy to notify of his/her renounciation, the full address of such office/person must be made available to the Embassy on the application. 4. $50 money order only payable to the Embassy of Nigeria. 5. Acceptance of the renounciation of citizenship on behalf of the Nigerian government by the Embassy will be communicated to the applicant in due course. :-) Nigeria Edit The right to renounce Nigerian citizenship is established in § 29 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, which states that "any citizen of Nigeria of full age who wishes to renounce his/her Nigerian citizenship shall make a declaration in the prescribed manner for the renunciation", which the government is obliged to register except when Nigeria is physically involved in a war or when the President of Nigeria is of the opinion that the renunciation is contrary to public policy. - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renunciation_of_citizenship From all the fore going sir eke, I put it to u that u are wrong on ur conclusion and I can renounce my Nigerian citizenship if I want to. Eke40seven: Yes d targets are mainly refugees but do u know d volume of Nigerians claiming aduro refugee asylum in Germany? Guy dem many oo. I just hope dey draw a line sha if ur argument will be valid. And even if Nigeria does not av a renunciation law but Germany is saying u can't stay in our country with two citizenship, then wateva law Nigeria has becomes irrelevant in Germany if u still plan to stay. Plus I don't think u can't renounce Nigerian citizenship. U can renounce d citizenship of any country if u want to. Nigerian law is that u can keep ur citizenship and av that of another country, not that u can't renounce if u feel u are tired of ur green pali cus I know a Nigerian man here in Frankfurt who went to Berlin to renounce his green pali some years back. For instance, d Nigerian constitution says u can't contest for political office if u av dual citizenship. You must renounce d other before u can contest. |

onnenka: I am not a tribalist but I need to educate you cus I know d message u are trying to pass across. And as an ondo indigene from ilaje LGA, I need to explain to u wat u don't know. Now d riverine area of ondo used to av ijaw minority groups and d LGA den was ilaje ese odo LGA until war broke out BTW both tribes in 1999/2000. D war lasted close to a year and my grandmum only escaped death by whiskers. After d war and as a form of reconciliation, d LGA was splited into two namely ilaje LGA with headquarters in igbokoda for d Yoruba speaking ilajes and ESE odo LGA for d ijaws with headquarters in arogbo. Now these ijaws were migrants who had been accommodated over time by d ilajes due to the well known welcoming spirit of almost all Yoruba tribes. So that is why u can see an ijaw man claiming ondo state but that does not make him a Yoruba indigene. Even till tomorrow, news on d ondo state TV station is read in d ijaw language. And it is these ijaws who av shown to be violent severally that are now d militants terrorizing Lagos that d news is referring to. Even from his name it is obvious he is not an ilaje Yoruba or from any Yoruba tribe. 4 Likes |

Someone asked me here about scholarships in Germany. Attached is d only scholarship u can use to enter Germany as a student. Its called daad scholarship like I mentioned in an earlier post http://scholarship-positions.com/2013-2014-postgraduate-courses-for-professionals-with-relevance-to-developing-countries-germany/2012/03/20/ 1 Like |

Chaiks I just remembered now there is a certain scholarship by the German govt given to students before coming to Germany for certain courses . its called daad scholarship and Nigerians can benefit from it if dia course falls under it. You can Google search it. Daad scholarship! |
Travel / Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by nevilbot: 7:51am On Aug 08, 2016 |
chaiks: Like I said scholarships don't come easy in Germany bcus the schools are tuition free so d bliv is why do u need scholarship again. But some schs offer living expenses to outstanding students who are already studying. This is not an info u can get while not yet a student as its usually in house via student emails. So dey give grants to dia students who av good grades not for newly admitted students just coming in. Your grade before coming to Germany has nothing to do with u getting a subsidy on your arrival. D criteria used depends on d sch giving it and it is only to students who av already finished ist or second semesters. So if u need scholarship before u can fund your trip abroad, I will advice u to look else where like USA and Canada and not Germany cus without a block acct or a German resident sponsor, u won't get the visa As for how much u can make while working, depends on d job contracts. Student mini jobs where u pay no tax, u must not earn more than 450€ per month. Midi jobs where u pay tax is max 850€ monthly while u can earn above that during holiday months of august and September. But mind u, u pay monthly rent (btw 220- 450 monthly) and monthly health insurance of 80€ if u are still below 30 and up to 171€ monthly if u are above 30. How much u spend on feeding and others depend on your life style |

t405: If you want to travel with a child, u can but ur block acct fee will be above 8700€ that a single fellow is required to pay. All education is free for everyone in Germany except kindergarten. As for hubbies and wifeys going with u, its possible and dey get a permit but u need to speak to d embassy on how to process the visa for all of u as d process is not sumtin I'm aware of |
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by nevilbot: 5:06am On Aug 08, 2016 |
t405: No, you can't apply for permanent resident during the 18 months. You qualify for Permanent resident after staying 5 yrs in Germany and u qualify for d German passport after staying for 8 yrs. But also note that ur years used studying qualify as half to your permanent resident status meaning when counting d no of years, if you used 5 (msc+ bsc) years to study it only counts as 2.5 years while full year counts only wen u start working full time after graduation or u stsrt phd as phd is recognized as a full time job if its the one u get a contract for. So if u do a 3 year phd, it counts as 3 yrs. Meaning in your case if u only do a 2 yr MSC, den u av only gotten 1 yr of d needed 5 yrs to qualify for PR. Your 18 month job hunting period will also count as 9 months towards your PR. Meaning In all by d time your 18 elapse u only av used 1 yr and 9 months towards PR. I hope u get my explanation? And as for health insurance, u pay monthly for it to remain covered for as long as u stay in Germany. Its a monthly payment thing that u must not default or u get a fine for each month u default 9 Likes 1 Share |

striker9: And who says he can just come from Estonia and work the 8.5€ per hour job in Germany without the German resident permit? Sometimes I laff wen read abt d expectations of Nigerian youths online abt coming to Europe working and hammering big. Plz don't be dcieved , he can't come to do holiday jobs in Germany if he does not av d papers. The so called black jobs are rare and don't pay that 8.5€ as 8.5€ is d legal minimum wage so y will a job that is under d table pay u that much. I av bin in Germany since 2014 and getting those under table jobs is like going thru d needle eye cus Germany is a paper country |

uchezdedon: A friend of mine in kleve still used azimo around 5pm German time yesterday and it went thru in a jiffy. And Nigeria is still listed on azimo as at this morning. After going thru d CBN secular, I think d CBN point of contention is that des companies do not transfer d euro or dollar equivalent of wat d Nigeria banks pay out in d sent foreign currency. Dey maybe found a way of sending naira instead. So wat CBN is saying is if a Nigerian in USA or Europe sends money to Nigeria, pay d Nigerian banks in d foreign currency and not in naira while d Nigerian bank will pay into d receivers acct in naira. I guess its a way to increase d amount of forex in circulation and I don't think that is too much to ask. Just hope dey sort it out quickly 4 Likes |

Our problem in nigeria is this na our pikin mentality and na my tribe so I must support it and these polithiefcians keep stealing us dry and confusing us on it. Wat is so difficult for d govnor to show us d farm and ansa those questions raised.
