Mhhhnnn...Just a message from the universe saying "stick together, it will all work out somehow in the end". You might need to start considering PNP though, while hoping that the scores drop.
ddymples:
Thank you jare. we have tried that option too, den don sabi me for BC and MOD sef. Hubby set don rewrite, the guy is tired.

Its just the thought that with unaccompanying spouse the score should be higher but this one wey our own no wan follow the popular theory dey make me think whether there is something we are not doing properly.

To get CLB 10 is not beans sha o.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 6:15pm On Sep 27, 2018
@ddymples also consider rewriting for a 7.5 in writing which would get you straight to 442...
Tojued:
My thought is he's offering almost full points and you've lost the age advantage. In this instance your hubby is actually an asset and you two are stronger as a team. Let him retake ielts for 8777 so you guys can cross into 440.

Don't know if you're doing anything wrong sha, the crs tool experts will soon arrive.

Ohh wow!!! Lets hope someone has had a similar situation and has been able to sort it out so you can get some help here. Otherwise you might need to make some calls or send some mails, just to know whatsup
Popscicle:
I have been checking my CIC account. I submitted on 24th august and I observed the trend here, that was why I asked if anyone has similar experience.
Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 7:21pm On Sep 25, 2018

Hope you are not looking for this in your email but on your cic account. I ask because it seems a bit odd that would happen except you submitted your application before July 31 in which case your MeP was long overdue.
Popscicle:

MEP = 12/09/2018
BIL = 17/09/2018

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 6:57pm On Sep 21, 2018
I got there at 8.30am even though my appointment was for 8am and before all the initial lock ur bag here wahala and make two copies of ur biodata page it was already 9am but the queue moved really fast after that and i was done in 30 mins. I guess the network been down thing could have been a significant factor causing the delay.
Feezeel:
But what if one gets there by 6.30am or 7am? Wont the person be done within two to four hours?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 1:08pm On Sep 20, 2018

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 12:43pm On Sep 20, 2018
Just about to say the same thing, did mine in Lagos and was told to bring it back when its time for passport submission, no reference made to any update in my account.
Favoured2505:
I did mine in Abuja. I was told to bring it along when I come for passport submission.

In the event that you still have window to remark ur writing for a chance at 7.5, that will fetch u 3 additional points. If not, as others have advised, look for other ways to increase ur crs
pweetygeek:
Hello house, I really appreciate everybody on this thread for all the info, if i open Canada immigration shop I go sell market well well. God bless you guys. So quick question my CRS is humbly sitting at 438 and the draw so far has been 440 upwards at least for this year, my ielts is L8.5,R9.0, W7.0, S8.0, Bsc accounting, 3yrs work experience, age 24. Please what do you think my chances are? Should i still calm down or start looking for ways to increase my point? Thank you.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 6:03pm On Sep 10, 2018
Exactly, with me in a good mood, I would cause a scene until they let me in and then tell them im no longer interested in that day, grin grin grin Just because, one nonsense gateman who cant be polite enuf to ask for a tip has to understand right from wrong
Ifeoma77:
I don't know if Lagos insists on appointment but in VFS Abuja, you don't need an appointment for biometrics, just show them the biometrics instruction letter and they'll let you in. Infact it's written boldly on their site that appointment for biometrics is not compulsory

Thanks Aug 6
Amakaota:
Congratulations. When was your AOR?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 6:00pm On Sep 10, 2018
ohh wow!!! even though on their website it says you can walk in or book an appointment to avoid delays....Nigeria will always be great o. Thanks for the info.

clock89:
The gateman didn’t let me in without an appointment letter. With some hand greasing he would have let me in though but I no dey for that one grin
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Newbeecey: 3:47pm On Sep 10, 2018
Finally o, MeP notification received. Tried to book an appointment with VFS, another wahala, their portal has been down all day even from their end (thats what they said when i called, so they can't even book from their end). I cant afford to waste time at their office but was wondering if i could just risk it and go there without an appointment. Any ideas, if it could take longer than an hour?

BTW, congrats to oga bello321 on your PPR. More rain please

TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 2:00pm On Sep 04, 2018
OHH Right..I could be in a similar case soon, so i want to find out if you intend sponsoring him later or if you are already in the process. Also, seeing that you have kids too, how do you manage when you do not have your parents or husband in canada?
Nogen:
He is not.

TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 11:41am On Sep 03, 2018
I was just wondering if your hubby is a PR or not?
Nogen:
Been miles away. Congrats to those who have landed in Cannyland and may the land favour us all.
I have been very busy with studies and homefront, my parents have gone back to Naija since July and hubby came in for his vacation. At the point of entry, his passport was stamped PR. He quickly informed them he is on a visit not a permenant resident. Funny experience.

You guys outside Quebec really pay so much on rent. I couldn't believe my eyes as I saw some comments on renting a 3 bedroom appartment between $1300 to $1700. While I pay for the same 3 bedroom here for $795 per month.

Success to us all in our endeavours.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 6:05pm On Sep 02, 2018
Hello Mrs Bee, did this trip finally happen and as a shortlanding? I am interested in how you managed to get ur PR cards back to naij, if you have done that already
MrsBee:
Good Day All,

We would be going to Ontario in March for short-landing. Please can you advise on how much we can achieve in 10 days. Apart from landing formalities, SIN, bank account opening, possibly write the DL test. I had a crazy idea of looking for a volunteer or job shadow opportunity for a week, but i think i am being overambitious.

We are also considering going across the border to Niagara falls/Bufallo NY during the weekend while we are there but my worry is how to return into Canada without a PR card.

Landed seniors , please help with your advise/suggestions.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 5:31pm On Sep 02, 2018
sorry i should have modified my previous post after i saw the various responses subsequent to your initial post. I understand the concept now
AZeD1:
I spoke to someone who explained it to me.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey:
Could you please provide further information about what you were told that made you feel comfortable you weren't been scammed? Modified: Read subsequent posts for clarification.
AZeD1:
My work place as do most places pay salaries every two weeks (not bi monthly) so my first week was a pay

So I was spared the "embarrassment" of confronting the MD. A member of this group wasn't so lucky. He saw his pay check and went to HR.

Moral of the story, know if your wages are bi weekly or bi monthly before you "go an vex for oga at the top".

PS: For those in Ottawa, we need to pick a weekend that would be comfortable for everyone to meet in person and hang out.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 2:14pm On Aug 27, 2018
Actually quite amusing and ironic is the fact that a lot of hospitals have "We care but God heals" inscribed on their walls, at least in Nigeria.
@vcole so u see, na all of us get the wahala
einsteino:
I agree with your perspective, but we have to understand the truth is that it is difficult to draw the line between religion and reason. The bible says christains should give all gloryy to God. So for a christain, even healing after treatment is an art of God. it is this ambiguity and exclusivity to all success that makes one reference God in all things, or should i say all things good cos in Nigeria all negatives are attributed to the devil and village people that know nothing about it.

point is when we do this, we are acting in accordance with the christain belief, wether it is logical or not is a debate for another day. So the focus here should remain what civility demands, as your first comment beautifully put. For me, doesnt matter how much one chants "na God do am for me", I quietely focus on the practical things they did, I have realised cause and effect works more times than miracles.. funny thing is that soon as i repeat what they did and mine works out fine, i start out with praise God cos it is what we christains have to do... lol

Have you attended planning for Canada session? Have you identified your career path and short term goals immediately after landing? What's your plan for your children? Have you started planning how to get into daycare waiting lists, or will one spouse's income be sufficient to tide over while the other stays home? Have you adapted your CV and updated your LinkedIn? Have you started taking free courses or started your licensure process? Do you already know how you'll convert your driver's license? And so on and so forth. These things can keep you busy enough to be distracted.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 10:22pm On Aug 26, 2018
Ohh seen. Thanks
XX01:
Sure. But school registration doesn't take time. Register on one day and start school the next day or 2
depending on which region you are and what school board. They need the kids to be around so they will just postpone the registration till kids are around.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 12:39am On Aug 25, 2018
Congratulations albeit belated are still in order I assume.

My naija driver’s license will be 2years in January, I did the knowledge test and applied for exemption. I have the class 7 license and they said I can go ahead and do the basic road test now or wait till January for the advanced road test.

I had a baby last Wednesday , PR cards received and my older child has been paid child benefits for October & November, thought we had to wait for 3months before the ist pay
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Newbeecey: 10:06pm On Aug 24, 2018
Is it possible for the principal applicant to go ahead first and start sorting out school registration and other stuff first before dependants land? The school registration is my main focus please
Teatop1234:
Thanks XX01.

Yes, hubby is the PA and we want him to go first to sort out school for the children, get a job and rent apartment. We can then join once the Children finishes this session.

@canadafly , kayla10 u pple shld please leave our "how was ur night alone" biko. Im sure some of us will still tell some people "I greeted you and u dint answer, dd you not hear me?" lol . just joking sha, but it will be quite a culture shock not to be able to say how is your baby especially if you told me she had the flu yesterday
Kayla10:
I was genuinely befuddled the first time someone asked me that question. I took it quite literally and couldn't quite figure out why they needed to know about my night. I didn't know how to answer and had to ask someone else about it as I didn't know when it became the norm to ask people about their after dark activities.
