Politics › Re: Jonathan Nominates Akinkuotu As Demuren’s Replacement by Newcrescent(m): 9:21am On Mar 15, 2013 |
Maxymilliano: Another interesting angle to the story...
Aviation sources confided in Daily Independent on Thursday that besides Akinkuotu, two others are also being considered for top appointment at the NCAA.
They are Dele Sasogbon and Benedict Oluwole Adeyileka.
While Sasogbon is scheduled to come on board as Director, General Aviation, Adeyileka has been pencilled down as the new Director of Airworthiness Standards (DAWS).
Sasogbon is presently the Special Assistant (Technical) to the Minister of Aviation. Adeyileka is a Technical Director at Aero Contractors Airline.
Daily Independent learnt that the Federal Government, like Jonathan told Senate in the case of Akinkuotu, decided to make all the appointments from the South West region to correct the erroneous impression that the dismissal of Demuren had ethnic colouration.
It was equally gathered that Demuren would not have lost his job on Tuesday, but for the alleged intervention of former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu.
“The Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, had always maintained her stand that Demuren cannot be sacked based on the Dana crash of June 3, 2012. She even threatened at a time that she would quit her job should anything happen to Demuren. The Minister has a lot of respect for Demuren.
“But to her (Oduah) surprise, Demuren took his case to Tinubu for intervention.
The former Lagos State Governor through an emissary pleaded with President (Jonathan) that Demuren is the last Yoruba man standing in the aviation industry and that he should be spared.
“Tinubu based his intervention on a letter sent to all heads of aviation parastatals to indicate when they would observe their annual vacation.
“Demuren was to proceed on vacation today (March 15, 2013). Perhaps, that letter was perceived as a prelude to his exit from the NCAA.
“When the President called the Minister to inform her of Tinubu’s intervention, she (Oduah) got angry and told the President to take his appropriate decision on Demuren. That was how he was sacked,” our source said on Thursday.
http://dailyindependentnig.com/2013/03/fg-names-akinkuotu-new-ncaa-dg/first-plane-land/ Junk journalist having a field day on this. What is the source of your report, please produce the proof of Tinubu's letter to Stakeholders and Presidency on this. |

All said, it shows you are not in-tune to Globalization and Economic development. I believe it's hightime we try another set of people and get rid of the current occupant in the seat of power. Islam › Re: The True Meaning Of Jihad by Newcrescent(m): 9:01am On Jan 29, 2013 |
Saksreal: JIHAD is a Term often misunderstood and associated with radical militants. The arabic word is wrongly misinterpretated as "Holy War", although there is no such thing in islam. Holy war is something undertaken to forcibly subject others to certain religious doctrines, which is forbidden in Islam.
The arabic word "Jihad" means a struggle or striving and applies to any great effort on the personal and social level. It is striving to do good and remove injustice and evil from oneself and the society. This exertion of effort can be spiritual, economic, social or political. For example, one of the highest level of Jihad is to stand before a tyrant and speak a word of truth. Restraining oneself from wrongdoing is also a form of Jihad. It is a broad concept that includes opposing evil inclinations within oneself, opposing injustice through peaceful means, efforts to improve the quality of life in a society as well as the striving by military forces on a battlefield in defence of the community or oppressed people. Jihad is not synonymus with war and it certainly does not involve terrorism. Armed Jihad is not an option for muslim individuals or groups and can only be declared by the muslim head of state. Moreover it must never be fought for wordly gain, conquest or revenge. Muslims may only engage in battle to protect people's lives, properties and freedom.
Jihad has conditions of restraint that distinguishes it from any other kind of warfare. They can be summarised as follows.
** Muslims must not begin hostilities. They must strive for peace as much as possible. ** All treaties and agreements must be observed as long as the enemy observes them. ** Muslims must fight only those who fight against them; non-combatants are not to be harmed. ** Weapons of mass destruction must never be used and collective punishment is strictly prohibited. ** Self-defense is not considered jihad if muslims are striking back in revenge. ** Hostilities should be ended as soon as the other party is inclined to peace The word is always misconstrued. Anything good you does and worth emulating is basically Jihad. |

Politics › Re: Realistic Options For Opposition Presidency In 2015? by Newcrescent(m): 11:08am On Jan 21, 2013 |
ndu_chucks: The selection of either Fashola or Ngige, in addition to the support of a mega party, will make Buhari's electability more realistic than it has ever been. Ngige could help Buhari secure the East and cost GEJ a significant number of votes there. With proper campaign marketing and with a few big guns (IBB OBJ ) potentially jumping ship to the mega party, Buhari can come out smelling like roses, before the elections, regardless of current image.
After Buhari's first term, he will step aside for the new generation. I agree with you that, at that point, Ngige may not be the right flagbearer for the mega party. This is a more realistic permutation. |

The sugar used to mixed the concentrates of these juices were the bleached sugar which is harmful to health.
I do imagine what our regulatory agency(s) are doing to enlightened and ameliorate the abuse of these substances. Infact, they should encourage people going for the green (vegetables and natural fruits).
My mum used to be addicted to chilled Orobo Pepsi but the resultant effect almost killed her causing Hypertension and Diabetes.
Sugar consumption is allowable for kids and sportsmen because they can always burn out the calories but should be moderated not to lead to addiction. |

Car Talk › Re: Driving With Or Without Shoes by Newcrescent(m): 3:59pm On Dec 29, 2012 |
With or without shoes on, I love driving.
I started off without shoes, then later with shoes on and it's pretty interesting 'cos the type of shoe determines how u press the accelerator e.g. with utility boots you'll probably press gentler 'cos pressing harder due to the boots will kind of make the car jerk forward. I guess in that situation, somebody not too experience will have to drive with shoe/boot off.
Driving with office shoe will cause wrinkles and may deform the shoe. That is the essence of removing shoes while driving. If you can't do without shoe, then get a pair of slippers (I gat one in the car). |
Politics › Re: Jonathan Continues To Impress!! by Newcrescent(m): 10:48am On Dec 14, 2012 |
Sincere 9gerian: It's so exciting to note that while the HATERS continue to HATE, Jonathan has continued to IMPRESS and DELIVER.
1) Nothing excites me more than the privatisation of PHCN that is almost being concluded by this govt. For me, this is the most important achievement of the GEJ administration. 24hrs power supply is around the corner. Some of us now see more days of 24hrs non-stop public power supply. http://allafrica.com/stories/201211250072.html http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/phcn-fg-shifts-ground-agrees-to-pay-off-54000-staff/
2) Another exciting transformation is the massive rehabilitation of the rail transport system. Only few days ago, it was reported that the Lagos-Kano rail line has been completed and tested, and ready to take-off 20th of this month. This will add to the numerous other rail routes that have been rehabilitated and put to use including the Lagos-Illorin rail line and other intra-city railway services. Other corridors currently under serious construction include eastern corridor(Enugu-PH-north), Abuja-Kaduna(fast rail line), Itapke-Ajaokuta-Warri(fast rail line). The implication of reviving the rail transport cannot be over-emphasised, including reduced cost of transportation, reduced price of food items, safer transport, longer life span of our roads, etc http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/04/1000-commuters-move-by-train-to-ilorin/ http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/sambo-rehabilitation-of-4000km-rail-lines-in-advanced-stages/126761/ http://www.punchng.com/news/lagos-kano-mass-transit-train-service-begins-dec-20/
3) What about the massive re-building of 11 airports in Nigeria, including the one Enugu, Owerri, Benin,Lagos, etc The completed ones are simple beautiful to behold. When the 11 airports currently under re-construction are completed, reconstruction will begin immediately in the remaining 11 airports under FAAN. Also part of the aviation master plan of this govt is total over-haul of the institutions in the industry(done already), creation of a national carrier, building of aero-tropolis, building of 5 new international terminals in 5 airports, including Enugu. If this is not transformation, tell me what it is. https://www.nairaland.com/1087612/new-face-remodelled-benin-airport http://www.informationnigeria.org/2012/10/photo-speak-commissioning-of-remodelled-gat-mma-lagos.html http://nigerianaviation./2012/09/26/upgraded-airport-terminals-at-enugu-and-port-harcourt/ http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=95770:airports-remodelling-on-course&catid=32:business-travel&Itemid=563
4) The education sector has also received serious attention in terms of infrastructural upgrade. The federal unity schools are being rehabilitated in phases, Almajiri schools are being built to cater for the over 11million out of school children in the north, the higher institutions are recieving more funds than ever this time, etc Also important is the creation of 9 new federal universities in Ebonyi, Jigawa, Gombe, Ekiti, Bayelsa, Kogi, etc In fact, some of the brand new universities, including federal university Kashere, Gombe has commenced operation providing access to higher education for locals and employment. http://prnigeria.com/2012/08/08/federal-university-kashere-holds-maiden-matriculation/ http://www.fulokoja.edu.ng/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=38 http://www.universitiesnews.com/2012/08/10/nigeria-fg-increases-funding-to-universities-others-by-over-40-percent/
5) Significant progress is being made in terms of road construction. In the last 1 to 2yrs, 11 inherited(most abandoned) road projects, were COMPLETED, including: Vom-Manchok road (Plateau State), Yola-Numan road (Adamawa State), Gombe Bye-pass (Gombe State), Kaduna Refinery road (Kaduna State), Kano-Daura-Mai Adua road (Katsina State), Aba-Owerri road (Abia State), Onitsha-Owerri road (Anambra State) and Oyo-Ogbomosho road (Oyo State). Massive work is ongoing in various other highways in the 6 geo-political zones, including ongoing dualisation of Abuja–Abaji–Lokoja Road, Kano–Potiskum–Maiduguri Road; the Benin–Ore–Shagamu Expressway; the Onitsha–Enugu Expressway; and the construction of the Loko–Oweto bridge( across River Benue), East-West road, etc http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/09/providing-motorable-road-for-nigerians-is-my-commitment/ http://leadership.ng/nga/articles/42461/2012/12/13/abujalokoja_road_ready_2014_minister.html http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/newsextra/60567-govt-to-complete-enugu-onitsha-expressway-soon.html We expect ACTUAL construction of 2nd Niger bridge to commence in 2013. Failure to build 2nd Niger Bridge is the ONLY thing that can make me stop supporting GEJ. Enugu-PH road is currently undergoing rehabilitation to make it motorable, pending when full re-construction will commence. Lagos-Ibadan expressway is currently recieving similar attention. I guess u are living in a fool's world. sleeping slowpoke with unguided and unrealistic facts. |

I'm a student of the state university, which means I know more about my school more than yourself. A university having two lecture theatres, 3 blocks of classroom and some shitty laboratories. I know a lot of parent will prefer paying 30k as tuition fee, but the standard of learning is nothing to write home about, because in the long run, student will feel inferior to is colleagues in other university. The senior lecturers are sad, the non-teaching staffs are on strike.
I think the major town in ondo state are : Akure, Ondo town, Owo and Okitipupa. Apart from painting Akure, just state a single "project" which his administration worked on.
Meanwhile, planting flowers and tree isn't to help government, it is for you and me. It's helps in bioremediation, which in turns reduces the effect of ozone depletion. The flooding that is happening all over the country now can be corrected by planting trees. Dude, you really need to help your kids Thanks dorothy111 Most of the Fash haters need to get a life or they will be walking on a thin rope. Presently, Lagos is still witnessing unprecedented transformation.
