Like I said, most of the arguments on this forum are wastes of time. Some arguments last for a week or longer, reaching 3pages or 5. In the end no conclusion.
The reason is just one:

#Sufis and shias have no principles, they are seekers and followers of anarchy. They want to rip the Quran,sunnah and Consensus of the first generations of validity and being used as proofs.
They have their point and opinion already, then they seek evidence for their claim desperately.

By declaring weak hadith reliable or declaring reliable books and hadith weak and unreliable.
or by Interpolating the meaning of verses and reports.

The shias are the worst in these. Their ideology has no authentic claim to any of the first generations of the household except claims and clear lies. That's why they can never mention the chain of their hadith.

The one who has any sense of foresight knows that the the one who has no aim for the truth but is only after supporting his ideology is the last person that a wise person will argue with.

Especially, the shias, lying and fabrication is their religion.

If I respond to any of their claims its just because of my fear that some innocent but ignorant Muslims might be misguided by them not because I see them fit for discussion or debate.

Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 3:
أَلَا لِلَّهِ الدِّينُ الْخَالِصُ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَا إِلَى اللَّهِ زُلْفَىٰ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ

Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Auliya' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.

So, the verse explains that calling other than Allah is clear disbelief even if the callers claim that they are only intermediary to take them closer to Allah.

TAWASSUL - MEDIATION/INTERCESSION

# First, Tawassul is an act or process of seeking Allah's help or nearness to Him via a means (wasila).

Note:[s] Quran commands and states two forms or processes of approaching Allah:

1. You go directly: "call upon Me, I will answer you", "Say, 'Allah or ar-Rahman, whichever name you use to call Him, it is good for He has the most beautiful names..."

A beautiful example out of many is the Christians and Nabi Jesus. They took him as "God", 3 in 1 i.e same as God or God who manifest in human form therefore they pray directly unto him. This form, Quran condemned, for example:

# Surah Al-Isra, Verse 57:

Those whom they call upon, themselves seek the means of access (wasila) to their Lord-- whoever of them is nearest-- and they hope for His mercy and fear His chastisement; surely the chastisement of your Lord is a thing to be cautious of"

This ayah did not only condemned the act of shrik of e.g the Christians but even exposed the validity of Tawassul.

The verse of Isra is an evidence against you not for you.

Allah condemned the polytheists who worshipped righteous people such as the Christians and told them that even these righteous people whom the kuffar call on besides Allah seek also a means of closeness to Allah. So don't call them, rather call on Allah alone not those pious people.

The Creed of Imam Malik Ibn Anas (Rahimahullah) (1)

This will be the first post in the series where I shall discuss the creed of the Four Imams, namely: Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi’ee, and Imam Ahmad. Insha-Allah, this series of posts will benefit the readers and give them a good understanding at the Aqeedah of the Four Imams.

My goal is to show that all four have hade the same creed except in one case, that is regarding Eemaan about which Imam Abu Hanifa had a different position.
Statements of Imam Malik concerning Tawheed:

1. It is related by Al-Harawee from Ash-Shafi’ee, that he said, ‘Malik was asked about theological rhetoric and tawheed. He replied:
It is inconceivable to suggest that the Prophet (PBUH) taught his Ummah
about the manners of cleansing themselves after using the bathroom, yet he
did not teach them Tawheed. Tawheed is what the Prophet (PBUH) spoke of:
“I have been commanded to fight the people until they say: There is no diety worthy of worship besides Allah…” [i]

2. Ad-Daraqutnee (d. 385H) – may Allah have Mercy on him- relates from Waleed Ibn Muslim who said, “I asked Malik, ath-Thawree, al-Awzaa’ee, and al-Layth Ibn Sa’d about the narrations concerning the Attributes ( Sifat of Allah-SWT) . They all said:
‘Pass them on (as) they have come.’” [ii]

3. Ibn `Abdil-Barr said, “Malik was asked (by some people), ‘Will Allah be seen on the Day of Judgement?’ So he said, ‘Yes, Allah says,

– ﻭُﺟُﻮﻩٌ ﻳَﻮْﻣَﺌِﺬٍ ﻧَﺎﺿِﺮَﺓٌ –

And some faces shall be shining and radiant upon that day, looking at their Lord. ( Suratul Munafiqun, 75: 22)

And He (SWT) said about another people,
– ﻛَﻼ ﺇِﻧَّﻬُﻢْ ﻋَﻦْ ﺭَﺑِّﻬِﻢْ ﻳَﻮْﻣَﺌِﺬٍ ﻟَﻤَﺤْﺠُﻮﺑُﻮﻥَ –

No! Verily they shall be veiled from their Lord upon that day. ( Suratul Mutaffifeen 83: 15)’”
He was further asked, ‘ will they be looking towards Allah?’ He said, ‘Yes, with their own two eyes.’ So one of the people present said to him, ‘There are some people who say that Allah can not be looked at, and that ‘to look at Him’ really means: looking forward to the reward.’ He said, ‘They have lied, rather Allah will be seen. Have you not heard the statement of Musa (AS),

- ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺭَﺏِّ ﺃَﺭِﻧِﻲ ﺃَﻧْﻈُﺮْ –
“Lord, I wish to look at You.” (Suratul A’raaf 7:143)

So do you hold that Musa would ask his Lord for something impossible? Allah said,
– ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﻟَﻦْ ﺗَﺮَﺍﻧِﻲ –
“You will not (be able to) see Me.” (Suratul A’raaf 7:143)

This refers to this worldly life, because it will come to an end, and things that come to an end shall not see something that does not come to an end. However, when they reach place of unending life, they will look using what is unending (their eyesight) at what is eternal (Allah). And Allah said,

– ﻛَﻼ ﺇِﻧَّﻬُﻢْ ﻋَﻦْ ﺭَﺑِّﻬِﻢْ ﻳَﻮْﻣَﺌِﺬٍ ﻟَﻤَﺤْﺠُﻮﺑُﻮﻥَ –
“No! Verily they will be veiled from their Lord upon that day.” ( Suratul Mutaffifeen 83: 15)’” [iii]

IMAAM MAALIK’ S FATEFUL DEATH:

During the last few years of his life, Imaam Maalik (RA) preferred to remain alone. He never even used to attend the Jamaa’ at Friday prayer and used to say that not everyone can openly explain themselves.

According to another statement, Imaam Maalik (RA) imparted that he had a weak bladder. In this condition he found it to be disrespectful to visit Masjid-e-Nabawi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). He further stated that he did not wish to voice his illness as it would be likened to complaining upon that which Allah had procured him with. Hence, Imaam Maalik (RA) remained ill for a number of 22 days. On Monday 14th of Rabi-ul-Awwal 179 A H., Imaam Maalik (R.A) took leave from this world.
(To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return).

Ibn Kanaanaa and Ibn Zubyr performed Ghusl. Imaam Maalik’s son; Yahyaa and his student (calligrapher) Habeeb poured the water, and as Imaam Maalik (R.A) had willed, he was shrouded in a white cloth. Ameere Madeenah Abdul Azeez Ibn Muhammad Ibn Ibraheem led the Janazah prayer. Before his death, Imaam Maalik (R.A) recited Tashah’hud (verification of the oneness of Allah) and then said:
‘With Allah is the command in the past and in the future’ .(Surah Ar Rum : part verse 4)
Imaam Maalik (R.A) was buried in Jannatul Baqee’ in Madinah Munawwarah

IMAAM MAALIK’ S METHOD OF TEACHING:

Imaam Maalik (RA) would appoint his specific writer; Habeeb, to recite Ahaadeeth from Mu’atta (a prestigious hadith kitaab compiled by Imaam Maalik (RA) ).

The other students and participants would silently listen attentively, due to the fear and respect of lmam Maalik (R.A).

No student would look into his kitaab or ask any questions. If Habeeb would make an error within the recital, Imaam Maalik (R. A) would promptly rectify the error. If the door was crowded with students lmam Maalik (R. A) would call them inside.

Occasionally, Imaam Maalik (RA) would read himself from Mua’tta. Yahya Ibn Bukayr has stated: ‘I have heard the kitaab Muatta recited directly by Imaam Maalik (RA) a number of 14 times.,"

Imaam Maalik’s (R.A) daughter Fatima had memorised the kitaab Mu’atta; during lessons she would stand behind the door, if the recitor made an error, she would tap her nails on the door. Imaam Maalik (R. A) would understand her action and rectify the error.


Imaam Maalik’ s (RA) son Yahyaa later grew to become a great man of knowledge. He also journeyed to Egypt and conducted lessons of Ahaadeeth.


IMAAM MAALIK’S (R.A.) CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN:

Ibn Hazm (R.A) has written : ‘Imaam Maalik (RA) had two boys; Yahyaa and Muhammed. One grandson Ahmed Ibne Yahyaa Ibne Malik.’
Imaam Malik (R.A) also had a daughter named Fatima.

IMAAM MAALIK’S CHARACTERISTICS:

-Imaam Maalik ( R. A.) was very cautious in procuring fatawaa.

-Imaam Maalik (R. A.) was very active within the conduct of Sunnah

-Imaam Maalik (R. A.) loathed innovations (bidaah).

-Matters of belief( aqaaid ) were very religiously followed by way of Qur’an and sunnah.

- Although during Imaam Maalik’ s ( R. A.) era there were many sects that arose, yet Imaam Maalik (RA.) refrained from enjoining with these.

- When the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was mentioned, the colour of Imaam Maalik’ s (R.A.) face would change.

- Imaam Maalik (RA.) never recited a hadith without ablution.

- Caliph Harun Rashid requested that Imaam Maalik’s kitaab, Mu’atta, should be displayed in the Kaaba, and that all Muslims be imposed to follow Imaam Maalik within all jurisprudential matters. Imaam Maalik (R.A.) refused saying " Refrain from this as the Companions of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam themselves held opposing views within subsidiary masaail. The common folk already follow these differing views. All are upon the righteous path."

ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE:

From infanthood Imaam Maalik (R. A.) was surrounded by the very gardens of Madinah Munawwarah. Imaam Maalik (RA) did not set foot outside Madinah Munawwarah for purposes of acquiring knowledge. His own household was a resort of knowledge.
Imaam Maalik (R. A.) acquired Qur’anic teachings from Naafe’ and Abdur Rahmaan Other than Naafe’, Imaam Maalik (RA) sought knowledge from others too. Namely, Abdur Rahmaan Ibn Hurmuz, Safwaan Ibn Sulaym, Ibn Shihaab Zuhri etc.

The most followed school of Islamic Jurisprudence in west Africa is the Malikiyyah named after the great scholar Malik bn Anas.
Unfortunately, many of us are ignorant of the biography and creed of this great Imam. As a result I have created this thread to enlighten us all seeking the reward of Allah alone.

IMAAM MAALIK (R.A.)

Imaam-e Daarul Hijrah; Imaam of Madina Munawwarah was the appellation of lmam Maalik (RA.).

As well as being a great muhaddith (Scholar of the sayings of the
Prophet Muhammad ) and mujtahid, Imaam Maalik (RA) was also renowned for his pious, abstinent God fearing, and truthful ways.
A great number of scholars and muhadditheen have spoken and referred to Imaam Maalik’ S (RA) great knowledge and literary works.

Amongst his various literary compilations ‘ kitaabul Mu’atta’ is the most eminent.
Imaam Shaafi’ee (R.A.) has stated regarding ‘Kitaabul Mu’atta’: ‘On the face of the earth there is no kitaab more authentic than Mu’atta." It should be borne in mind that Imaam Shafi’ee (R. A.) passed away in the year 204 A.H. before the compilation of Sahih Bukhari.


Today, it is a unanimously agreed opinion that Sahih Bukhari is ranked as No.1 in this field.
He was born in the era of Taabi’een, Imaam Maalik (R.A.) acquired knowledge from many famous Taabi’een, jurists and muhadditheen.
Due to Imaam Maalik’ s (R.A.) intelligence, efforts, zeal and determination, upon reaching the age of 17, he had acquired a vast amount of Islamic knowledge which was of great standard and it was at this very age, with the approval of his teachers and scholars that Imaam Maalik (R.A.) commenced teaching and conducting theories (Fataawaa).

Those verses -in line with the theme of the chapter- are discussing resurrection on the last day.

Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 185:

The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days which one did not observe Saum (fasts) must be made up] from other days. Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah [i.e. to say Takbir (Allahu-Akbar; Allah is the Most Great) on seeing the crescent of the months of Ramadan and Shawwal] for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him.

I know a Sheikh like that, he starts his fast 10days before Ramadan and ends 10days before Ramadan ends! And they still call him a sheikh and still make him a tawassul to Allah.

Allah defines a waliy thus:

Surah Yunus, Verse 62:
أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

No doubt! Verily, the Auliya' of Allah [i.e. those who believe in the Oneness of Allah and fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which he has forbidden), and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)], no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve,

الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ

Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and used to fear Allah much (by abstaining from evil deeds and sins and by doing righteous deeds).

For what you seek.

However, in summary, the believer should call upon Allah alone seeking no partner with Him.
Allah answers the prayer of whoever He wills and whenever He wills.

Is it right for a Muslim to pray and say: in Jesus name?

We rebuke the Christians for this act and call it polytheism, but we find it hard to believe that saying in the name of Sheikh Lagbaja is polytheism and association of partners with Allah!

And there's no doubt that Jesus is more virtuoso and beloved to Allah than all the Sheikhs put together. Jesus is from the ulul azmi if you know the implication of that.

Coupled with the fact that many of these Sheikhs are criminals in the religion of Allah, neglecting Solah in congregation, have no regard for the boundary of Allah regarding women.

There's no eagerness to follow the sunnah in their statements and life. The only way of loving the Messenger of Allah alyhissolaat wassalaam to them is maolid.

The belittle the sunnah and: "sebi sunnah lasan ni" subhanaLLaah.

No doubt, people pool etc like this are not waliy of Allah.

May Allah grant us beneficial knowledge and save us from Shirk in every form of it.

“… till when you are in the ships and they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they are glad therein, then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think that they are encircled therein, they invoke Allaah, making their Faith pure for Him Alone…” [Yoonus 10:33]

The shirk of some people nowadays goes even further than the shirk of people in the past, because they direct some acts of worship to something other than Allaah, calling upon them and asking them for help even at times of distress; laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah (there is no strength and no help except in Allaah). We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound.

To sum up our response to what your friend mentioned: asking the dead for anything is shirk, and asking the living for anything that no one except Allaah is able to do, is also shirk. And Allaah knows best.

In this aayah, Allaah explains that He is the only One Who deserves to be called upon, because He, and no one else, is the Sovereign who is directing everything.

Those things that are worshipped cannot hear du’aa’s, let alone respond to the one who invokes them, and even if they were able to hear, they cannot respond, because they do not have the power to either benefit or harm.

The mushrik Arabs whom the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was sent to call were disbelievers because of this shirk. They would call upon Allaah sincerely at times of difficulty, but they became disbelievers at times of ease and plenty, when they would call on others besides Him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings):

“And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allaah, making their Faith pure for Him only, but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others.” [al-‘Ankaboot 29:65]

“And when harm touches you upon the sea, those that you call upon besides Him vanish from you excpet Him (Allaah Alone). But when He brings you safely to land, you turn away (from Him)…” [al-Isra’ 17:67].

Allaah says of the people of Hell (interpretation of the meaning):

“[They say:] ‘By Allaah, we were truly in a manifest error when we held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the Worlds.” [al-Shu’ara’ 26:96-97]

Anything that results in equating something other than Allaah with Allaah in worship or acts of obedience is shirk, the crime of associating partners with Him.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And who is more astray than one who calls (invokes) besides Allaah, such as will not answer him until the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them? And when mankind are gathered (one the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become enemies for them and will deny their worshipping.” [al-Ahqaaf 46:5-6]


Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “ And whoever invokes (or worships) besides Allaah, any other god, of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely, al-kaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah) will not be successful.” [al-Mu’minoon 23:117] .

Allaah states that anyone who calls on anything other than him is taking that thing as a god, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “…And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a qitmeer (the thin membrane over a date-stone). If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad), like Him Who is the All-Knower (of everything).” [Faatir 35:13-14].

Tawassul that is bid’ah and therefore forbidden:


This is the attempt to draw close to Allaah by means of things that He does not like and that do not please Him, whether they be words, deeds or beliefs. One example of this is trying to draw close to Allaah by calling on the dead or people who are absent, asking them for help, and so on. This is a form of major shirk ( shirk akbar ), which goes against Tawheed and means that a person is no longer considered to be a Muslim. Calling upon Allaah, whether it is for a purpose such as asking Him to grant some benefit or to ward off some harm, or as an act of worship to express humility and submission before Him, can only be addressed directly to Allaah. If du’aa’s or prayers are addressed to anything or anyone else, this is shirk. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And your Lord said: ‘Invoke
Me (and ask Me for anything), I will respond to your invocation. Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e., do not invoke Me and do not believe in My Oneness], they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!” [Ghaafir 40:60].

In this aayah, Allaah explains the punishment of those who arrogantly refuse to call on Allaah, whether they call on someone other than Allaah or they do not call on Him at all, out of pride and self-admiration, even if they do not call on anyone else.

Seeking to draw close to Allaah through righteous deeds, whereby a person asks Allaah by virtue of the best deeds that he has done, such as salaah, fasting, reading Qur’aan, avoiding haraam things, and so on.

An example of this is the saheeh hadeeth narrated in the Saheehayn about the three people who entered a cave, and a rock fell and blocked their way out. They asked Allaah by virtue of their best deeds (to save them). A person may also ask Allaah by virtue of his total dependency upon Him, as Allaah mentions in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning): “[Ayyoob said:] ‘Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.’ [al-Anbiya’ 21:83]; or by admitting his own wrongdoing and his need for Allaah, as Yoonus is described as saying (interpretation of the meaning): “ ‘None has the right to be worshipped except You (O Allaah). Glorified (and exalted) are You. Truly I have been of the wrong-doers.’” [al-Anbiya’ 21:87]

The rulings on Islamically correct tawassul vary according to its type. Some types are waajib, such as seeking to draw close to Allaah through His names and attributes and through Tawheed (believing in His absolute Oneness), and some are mustahabb, such as seeking to draw close to Him by virtue of all kinds of righteous deeds.

Ya sheikh, I have question regarding the tawasul, I was telling someone that seeking tawasul at graves and asking the person who died to make dua to Allah it's wrong, he told me what is wrong with if I asked pious person during his life to make Dua and when he died I asked him to make dua what wrong with it. So I want you to clarify to me how to answer the brother, what kind Tawasul is allowed and which one not allowed since a lot people have been misguided in this Area?

Tawassul in Arabic means seeking to draw close. Allaah says in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning): “…[they] desire means of access to their Lord…” [al-Isra’ 17:57] , i.e., means of drawing close to Him. There are two types of Tawassul, correct Islamic tawassul and forbidden tawassul.

Correct Islamic tawassul:

This means seeking to draw close to Allaah through acts of worship which He loves and which please Him; these may be waajib (obligatory) or mustahabb (encouraged), and may take the form of words, actions or beliefs. Some types are as follows:

Seeking to draw close to Allaah by means of His names and attributes. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allaah, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His names. They will be requited for what they used to do.” [al-A’raaf 7:180]. So when a person makes du’aa’ to Allaah, he begins by calling on Allaah with the name that is most apt, such as “al-Rahmaan” (the Most Merciful) when seeking mercy and al-Ghafoor (the All-Forgiving) when asking for forgiveness, and so on.

Seeking to draw close to Allaah by means of faith and Tawheed. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger, so write us down among those who bear witness (to the truth).” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:53]
