Nairaland General › Re: Why Are Forum Topics Always in Questions? by nex(m): 11:28am On Nov 17, 2009
If you have noticed, Respondents in a forum are meant to Reply, that's why most times forum topics are usually, not always questions.

I think more people will reply or respond to an enquiry rather than a statement.

A question shows you're trying to find out something and those who know want to gladly teach. However declarative statements are conclusive by themselves and leave little or no avenue for further answers, only arguments from those that believe otherwise.

Politics › Re: Ibb's Wife Dying Of Cancer! by nex(m): 4:07pm On Nov 15, 2009
This is the breaking news that came out 10 years ago. Maryam Babangida is not dying of cancer. She's living with cancer just like Magic Johnson is living with HIV. Too much money.

However, if it is her time to die of cancer, then it is simply wrong for Nigerians to just rejoice of such a thing. It is not enough. I believe we have to put adverts in the newspapers expressing our joy and making a mockery of their entire family. I urge Nairalanders to form a group and start collecting donations towards this purpose.

Maryam was a woman with a good heart, but when she got in a position to act, she refused cos the lap of luxury felt too cosy.

All the government officials that have looted this country and even those that have made us suffer purely from poor decisionmaking, I have a grand plan for them which will manifest even after their deaths.

Whoever wants to rejoice should rejoice, whomsoever wants to weigh down their heart should swallow lead, but as Ohsisi had quoted and it is written, WHEN THE RIGHTEOUS PROSPER, THE CITY REJOICE. WHEN THE WICKED PERISH, THERE IS JOYFUL SHOUTING. (proverbs 11:10).

So if you don't shout joyfully when the Babangidas perish, you actually sin!
Business › Re: Nigeria To Generate Electricity From Nuclear Technology by nex(m): 10:37pm On Nov 11, 2009
There are places where nuclear accidents have taken place. They didn't revert to NEPA. They continued what they were doing. Let's put our weight behind this project.

Nuclear shalt it be.
Business › Re: Nigeria To Generate Electricity From Nuclear Technology by nex(m): 8:56pm On Nov 11, 2009
I've been advocating Nuclear for ages. Nuclear is actually one of the cheapest means of producing large quantities of energy. EDF proved that in Europe.

We need Nuclear Energy now, but the thing is that there's a lot of politics involved in generating Nuclear energy in a third world country. Western countries don't want third world countries to generate nucler energy because they know that would tea to production and less imports from the USA and Europe. So they'll accuse us of building nuclear weapons.

The issue is whether we have enough connections with China, India and South Africa to handle this.
Politics › Re: How Nigerians Are Abused In China. by nex(m): 4:30pm On Nov 10, 2009
When Nigerians go to some countries' embassies and even before they can see a member of staff, they are already being whipped and shoved, how do they expect to be treated when they get to the country itself?

Simple mathematics!

Well, one of the artistes I manage is looking for a new record deal. He's Adaz and he already put out his first album "From The Inside" with such hit tracks as Zaro Kome and Pepperminta.

If you have a good marketing network in North America and can fulfil other conditions, then you should hook up with us and let's see if we can have a deal.

Music/Radio › Re: Run This Town:jay Z Vs Kanye by nex(m): 10:46am On Nov 10, 2009
Both of them were just there talking crap but it was Rihanna who really held it down. So for me, Rihanna murdered them both.

Jay was just rhyming some childish stuff in his first verse and Kanye really didn't make much sense either. Such lines as "police escorts, everybody passports" just left me in doubt as to whether American Rappers can still step up to Nigerian rappers these days.

Ghetto P will so murder Kanye if these are the kinds of lines he wants to come forth with.

Politics › Re: Deregulation Or No Deregulation? What's Your Take? by nex(m): 5:28pm On Nov 09, 2009
Fellow Nigerians, in a democracy, in a free country, it is only right that we have a free market.

For government to keep dictating to us what price to buy what product, it is bound to keep them constantly dictating to us all of our lives.

When the government gives us freedom of association, why didn't all of you say that government is insincere so let them control our freedom to gather together till such a time as they can build a grand conference hall where we can comfortably associate. Why have we not asked the Federal Government to seize our freedom of speech till when the government has freed itself from every form of corruption and insincerity?

Some people say a Cartel will come and rip Nigerians off and hold them to ransom. Well, maybe we should try to remember here. When the telecommunications industry was deregulated, MTN and ECONET formed a cartel. They fixed prices at N50 then it slid to N45 and they claimed they could not shift to per second billing, they claimed that they could not shoot their ADs in Nigeria, they did many crappy stuff, but the good thing about deregulation is that the market is open to anyone who qualifies to enter and therefore came Globacom. Globacom knew that if they continued this cartel thing with the other two companies, they would not make as much money as they should. Globacom sold SIM cards for N1 when the other networks were selling theirs at N21,000. They then had to bring their prices to N200 where it is today. Globacom started per second billing and in order not to lose the market, the others followed. MTN was charging for customer care but when GSM users formed a conference and started putting pressure, boycotting some networks, they straightened up. This is the beauty of the free market.

In countries like Iran, the government has regulated the petroleum market to an extent that now, besides the fixing of the price to be bought, they also fix the quantity to be bought or sold, more than which you cannot demand!
Music Business › Recording Studio On The Mainland With S.a Based Producer by nex(op): 4:30pm On Nov 09, 2009
For those artistes and upcoming artistes who are trying to get those mad instrumentals that will usher their hits unto the entertainment industry and make them the next big thing, our producer Ray X is just back from training young producers in South Africa and obviously has come off learning something himself. He would be spending 2 weeks each in Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Owerri and finally Benin making beats .

Currently in Magodo GRA on the Lagos Mainland, artistes are called upon to take this opportunity to ensure that the new fresh sounds Ray X is spinning off rubs on their music to produce a unique sound like nothing Nigeria has ever heard.

With a blend of hiphop, afrobeat, R&B, highlife and now an infusion of little bit of that Kwaito sound, you'll no doubt be impressed.

Less than 2 days after touching down at the Murtala Muhammed international Airport, he has already produced 1 hiphop track (fastlane), 1 R&B track (all around the world), and a couple more. Currently, Adaz is in the building trying to make beats for his next big hit after Zaro Kome, a couple other artistes have booked to meet up in the other cities especially Abuja.

Ray X got his first training at Full Sail in 2001.

To book for a session in order for Ray X to get a beat produced for you, call me on 08135048278 to get directions or send an email to acenex@yahoo.com to receive a reply with a song produced by Ray X.

Please be sure to utilize this 2 week period as after that, the train moves elsewhere. Book now.

Politics › Re: Why Cbn Removed And Then Immediately Returned Etb Back To Mike Adenuga by nex(m): 5:32pm On Nov 06, 2009
Instead of saying why, you're heaping praises on the man. Do you think that the CBN don't have a record of his credentials? Those are the documents he submitted before his bank was licensed.

He immediately agreed to fulfill the terms the CBN gave him and he showed adequate capacity to do such. So his bank has to be returned to him.

@puskin

please don't mind me, I was only exercising my freedom of speech as decreed by that Shege.

@all

I'm not saying we should respect rulers who are yet to achieve much in government. If I don't respect the President, it is not a crime but if I go ahead and insult him, or make declarations about him that cannot be proven, then that is a crime and if the President as much as has the time for me, he will sue and win the case and I'll end up in jail. Can Shege prove with hard evidence, and without any doubt in the mind of the judge that Yar'Adua is a fool?

In as much as we want to express ourselves in order to protest the way things are going, let's obey the law.

Nairaland was built with our efforts and contributions in terms of time and knowledge, but it still is somebody's property and we put this person at risk of closure when we start committing crimes with his property.

I'm sure a lot of members do not know that the Federal Government can shut down Nairaland. Do you know how other websites are shut down in Iran and China? All the government needs to do is talk to google and offer them some benefits and Nairaland shall be no more.

So please let's all be moderate, obey the law and consider others. Let's stop incitement and committing sedition in the name of freedom of expression.

Even if you say we shouldn't look, and we try to look away, but sometimes there's no warning. But what about our kids? Do they have so much self control as not to look? Our little children are being corrupted daily on their way to and from school by the bare breasts and buttocks of adult women.
