Politics › Re: Barack Obama Wins Nobel Price For Peace by nex(m): 7:49pm On Oct 09, 2009
Can anyone mention to me where in the world Obama has brought PEACE?

If he does anything for the USA or its citizenry, that's purely selfish and I don't know what it has to do with a Nobel peace prize. Was there some kind of uprising in the USA which he quelled?

It's all politics which Europe want to employ in bringing the USA to its knees.

The man himself confessed that he honestly does not believe he deserves it and that it is clearly not a reflection of his achievements.

The man was nominated for the award before February 1st 2009 and he was sworn into office on January 20th. That's 12 days. What are they trying to tell us? That he brought World Peace in 12 days?

So really, I don't know what to say apart from the fact that all these organizations are beginning to show themselves as political lobbyists.

If Obama does not immediately reject this award immediately, it will be used to restrain and control him by appealing to his sense of vanity. This is all it is.
Politics › Re: Obama Wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize by nex(m): 5:23pm On Oct 09, 2009
Obama does not deserve any such prize. For God sake, the man was nominated before February 1. For being the first African American President?

All these political organisations that have been lobbyist all along are beginning to bring themselves to ridicule. FIFA will soon award Yar'Adua as the most valuable player 2009.

@Mamajama

at least Nigerian presidents have brought several wars to an end. You can testify to the situation in Sudan.

If you're saving $500, how does that help world peace?

This is a scam!

Poems For Review › Re: A Satiric Poem In Pigdin English Directed On The Contemporary Nigeria. by nex(m): 9:37am On Oct 09, 2009
This is beautiful. I've always preferred to see poems in pidgin, cos it shows how versatile the writer can be. It's our language and there a lot of poetry in the way it is spoken so I think we should write it more.

Good job.

Politics › Re: President Yar Adua : From Zero To Hero. What A Difference A Day Makes. by nex(m): 7:15am On Oct 09, 2009
Carrot and the Rod. Works most times. I think what happened in Gbaramatu was really scary so the opportunity to give up violence was embraced quite well.

I wouldn't call Yar'Adua a hero yet because a big problem lies in how to deal with the militants and criminals who still retain their weapons in the Niger Delta. If they are attacked at any time, for any reason, the world will assume that the disarmament was done to make the militants powerless so the the government can annihilate the people of the Niger Delta.

Then secondly, let's see how fast development in the Miser Delta is going to take.

Don't tell me people will drop their real email address and phone number here. My spare SIM is missing and I think my most recent email address has been closed so I'm not eligible for all this.

Dating And Meet-up Zone › Re: Edo State Forum: If You Are From Edo State Please Identify Urself Here by nex(m): 5:54am On Oct 09, 2009
I guess I posted on this page earlier with my dnex ID.

Anyway, I schooled in UNIBEN, was born in Kano, and now I'm moving permanently to Benin from Lagos. I'm from Owan East Local Government Area, Warrake.

This thread seems a bit small to represent Edos on Nairaland because I certainly know a lot of my fellow Edo indigenes who use Nairaland yet have not come on this thread to represent.

There are several Edo groups on Facebook and I'm a member of a couple of them though I opened none. My favorite is Edo Facebook Party 2009ice. I hope we get to party it out till the Oba comes screaming.

Hmmm, did I miss out anything? Well, so far, I'm not impressed with the works which the governor has embarked on in the state.

O God! Really, I know am forgetting something but I can't tell what it is. I'll come back on the thread and chip in a little something if I recall.
Romance › Re: Giving A Lady Space! by nex(m): 5:38am On Oct 09, 2009
I'm asking a girl out and she did something kinda disrespectful recently so I decided to give her some space. I didn't say it, I just withdrew a lot.

All of a sudden she's all caring, replying messages I sent her weeks ago, commenting on everything I do on Facebook, which I usually delete, but really when is it time to do away with the space?
Politics › Re: Amnesty Shocker: Some Surrendered Arms Belong To Fg. by nex(m): 3:46pm On Oct 08, 2009
Tribune has come again with one of its stories from its many, many source and already people are beginning to rewrite the article. It said some of the weapons were gotten from the military and police. Stolen, bought and made away with during attacks. Where did it state that someone in the Federal Government sold these weapons to them?

And by the way, Tribune is not saying this as a fact, they are claiming that a little bird whispered to them.
Politics › Re: Homosexaulity Should It Be Lagalize In Nigeria? by nex(m): 1:15pm On Oct 08, 2009
It is no more secret that people are always trying to test their democracy and stretch it to its limit and even beyond if they're given the freedom to.

Democracy is not freedom to do whatever, it is not an opportunity to go crazy and live recklessly, democracy is not anarchy.

When the people come together in common interests, beliefs, and goals deciding that direction of the polity will be decided by the resolve of the majority of the populace.

Some American women want to go topless in public, some Chinese want a country of their own, some Israelis want to cede more lands to Palestine, some Koreans want to unite the Peninsula, and recently, I've been hearing some Nigerians want to legalize homosexuality.

These radical groups come up all the time with all sorts of outlandish ideologies. They have good lawyers and understand the manipulation of the press so It's not a wonder that every once in a while, they get their way.

Homosexuality is a very touchy issue and most people rather not get embroiled in it.  Today, a politician saying "I hate homosexuals" is no different from announcing on CNN that they'd love to kill six million Jews. Well, not me; I hate homosexuals.

Some gay scientist can train male monkeys to have sex with each other, but that doesn't mean crap to me. Some apologists may claim that the gay community is just minding its own but they don't know.

In the school gym, on the internet, on televisions, in church and in camps, they're marketing homosexuality below the line to our kids even under our own noses.

Homosexuality breeds diseases. Even we are still unsure of where HIV itself originated, we know that the gay community in the USA was the substrate on which it was cultured and where it thrived.

As a people living in a democracy, our laws are guided by our culture, religion, and wellbeing. In other words, the things we do, the things we should, and if it's good.

A man slamming a man in the butt does no good thus should not be done.
Politics › Re: I Love Nigeria And Fucking Hate Nigerians. by nex(m): 11:55am On Oct 08, 2009
I have often said it that I love this land, but the problem is the people. I wish all Nigerians could just rapture and leave me alone on my motherland.

Even the Nigerians here casting aspersions on the poster know that they hate one another. It's only when it comes to forum threads that the same people who say they are not Nigerians will come out to protect their Nigerianess once the truth is being told.

The land is good but majority of the people are stupid, wicked, lazy, crazy, blind, greedy, careless, hopeless and every other thing bad.
Romance › Re: Why are Men not Crazy about Tall Girls? by nex(m): 9:56am On Oct 07, 2009
@laide o

I so know this is xschnrd.

Well, I'm always open to tall girls, but I think they discriminate a bit without knowing it. Naturally, tall girls should go out with short guys and short girls with tall guys cos subconsciously they're actually considering their kids being of average height. However, society makes it difficult for them to be real with themselves.

I'm currently asking a tall girl out and she always has this look of "are you serious? What will people think?" so I gradually just turned everything to a joke. I hope she doesn't start this kind of thread someday cos it would really annoy me.

Hope I didn't seem rude in any part of that. Take care ya.
