Supreme Court has the final say, not the executive branch The same supreme stupid court should go and print more old naira notes. Very soon ,supreme court will declare that the current interest rate limit is illegal, unconstitutional, against human rights to decent living. They have also declared Cash withdrawal limit as illegal and unconstitutional. Is the Cash withdrawal limit in the interest of the society ,against criminality or not? Supreme stupid court setting its own DEADLINE for the implementation of a monetary policy, an exclusive preserve of the CBN. Those who are consequentially kidnaped for physical cash ransom, should approach the supreme stupid court for help Rubbish! |

IgOga: It doesn't say transmitted electronically.....results were announced at PUs....then at ward level.....then at state level....then at national level......
Inec said they will use irev to transmit it...but then decided to transmit it manually.... no law was broken.. the idea that election must be annulled ir cancelled is evil.......anyone suggesting it hates you....I grew up under that condition and I can tell you those encouraging you will be the first to leave Nigeria cos they hold dual nationality.... May God give you the power of understanding. Read the section from the beginning and reconsider whether you are talking sense? (4) A collation officer or returning officerat an election shall collate and announce the result of an election, subject to his or her verification and confirmation that the—(a) number of accredited voters stated on the collated result are correct and consistent with the number of accredited voters recorded and transmitteddirectly from polling units under section 47 (2) of this Act ; and (b) the votes stated on the collated result are correct and consistent with the votes or results recorded and transmitted directly from polling units under section 60 (4) of this Act. 47.—(1) A person intending to vote in an election shall present himself with his voter’s card to a Presiding officer for accreditation at the polling unit in the constituency in which his name is registered. (2) To vote, the presiding officer shall use a smart card reader or any other technological device that may be prescribed by the Commission, for the accreditation of voters, to verify, confirm or authenticate the particulars of the intending voter in the manner prescribed by the Commission. Are you still in doubt that the law is talking of electronic transmission ? What do you understand by transmitted directly before announcing the result? |

obi58: Thanks so much for succinctly highlighting the salient points of this policy! I couldn't have expressed it better myself!!
CBN is empowered by law to change currency and apply sundry instruments to regulate monetary policy with view to improving the economy.
In line with current economic realities are reflected by current economic indicators, the CBN can decide to pursue expansionary or contractionary measures. With our inflation at 20%, there is no better time to introduce this amongst other measures to help check the current galloping inflation.
Fashola is just playing politics. He knows this is within the exclusive list and that the case would be eventually thrown out of the Supreme court for lack of merit. Fashola has been talking so many trashes recently. Even a Kindergarten lawyer cannot say that CBN has confiscated Naira note. He has lost all the respect I had for him! |

onegig: A lot of you just talk blindly without the context of reality just like your bald CBN governor and wool in the ear Buhari.
He has warehouse that sells flour. They make 1billion naira in sales monthly . That's average of 33million naira daily and most of these sales are in cash. How do you want such a person to transition into a cashless banking service within 2 months when their customers are largely cash based . Also a lot of their customers would likely be cross border buyers from Niger, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso who bring in CFA to exchange to naira cash before making purchases. You think such models can be processed overnight?
To Emefiele fans and his minions thinking this solves vote buying...
When Emefiele grinds all businesses down to their grounds because of some shortsighted policies a lot you would be the ones to bear the brunt. There's a difference between supporting a policy and having commonsense and logic to understand the ramifications of a policy. You can't rail road people to perform a business in a way when the infrastructure isn't there.
A friend has sent in money to my GTB since 12pm Nigerian time. It is 11pm now and same funds has not reflected and she has been debited by her bank. Imagine how that hampers millions of businesses when we don't have the infrastructure to run such?
Banks don't just upgrade servers overnight to cope with x3 volume of requests. It takes meticulous planning and scaling up. A server built with a max thoroughput of 1million API calls would break down with 2million requests. It's common sense Trash! A businessman with such a volume cannot instruct his customers to make transfers or deposits into his account? |
Politics › Shehu Sani: Aggrieved Nigerian Governors Should Join AAC, Sowore’s Party by Nfora(op): 11:42am On Feb 16, 2023 |
Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has asked Governors aggrieved with their parties to join the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore in his party.
Recall that some Governors are at loggerheads with the leadership of their parties especially as the general elections approaches.
Some of the Governors have also been involved in prolonged legal battles with their parties.
Advising them, the former lawmaker said Sowore’s party could offer the Governors some sort of succor as the party is crisis-free.
“Governors who are aggrieved with their parties should join Brother Sowore’s Revolutionary party where there is no crisis. They should only be ready to go to court daily, Jog weekly and protest monthly.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/02/aggrieved-nigerian-governors-should-join-sowores-party-senator-shehu-sani/

Supreme Court Of Corruption.
Even though we should not encourage disobedience to court order, I just wonder why a very urgent case like this can not be heard and decided within days.
When you adjourn hearing to February 22,you then give judgement in March, when the elections would have been over and votes bought with old notes.
Even if votes are bought with new notes, the limited availability would ensure limited vote buying.
The Supreme Court should stop ridiculing itself by dinning with corrupt politicians! |

Yankiss: My people, presidency is not for every dick, Tom and Harry. It's a very serious matter. The complexities are very difficult for the lay to grasp. You can have bright ideas but unable to carry them out. You can have prototypes that look good on paper but implementation is disastrous. You can have the resources but unable to deliver due to graft and corruption reigning supreme under you! Know it and know peace, Presidency is not for beginners. You have to climb the ladder gradually. That is why nobody is taking Sowore seriously. This one should go to house of Assembly, then governorship, etc before pricing the presidency. By the way, source of wealth wasnt stated. It has to be, so we arent dealing with a drug cartel lord. I only hope his income is neat. Trash. Presidency is a leadership and not technical function. All that is required is the capacity and capability to lead and organise technocrats to deliver. We've had many great leaders globally that never climbed the ladder gradually, including military coup plotters.. Do I need mention names? What Nigeria needs now is a revolutionist that was never part of the rotten system. What ladder did MKO Abiola climb to become elected president in 1993,that would discriminate against Sowore? What ladder did Mandela climb before being elected president and becoming one of the greatest leaders of all times?-- Th earlier we stopped recycling oldies all in the name of "experience", the better for us all. |

Do Nigerians deserve to know the true background of a presidential candidate in the caliber of Bola Ahmed Tinubu?
We were told his mother was Abibatu Mogaji, but married to who?
Who was Bola Tinubu's father?
Who were his siblings?
Which primary and secondary schools did he attend with dates?
Please who can help us unravel this misery?
