Jobs/VacanciesRe: Should I Take This Sales Job? by Nice2023(m):

I currently work as an a bank reconciliation officer with a monthly pay of #50k and I have an offer for a Guinness depot sales reps job.

I would love to know how financially rewarding the sales rep job for Guinness products is.

I'll really appreciate your inputs.
If u take up the sales offer job...expect ur life to change for the better.

Let me tell u what happened to me after I got a sales work at the bank in 2012 in Abuja. At first I never liked it because of how tough it could get to meet up with monthly or quarterly target but as I took up the job,I started showing a burning interest in it as mine involved getting clients to buy mortgage properties.

I could remember my pay then was 48k and everything was going on well,I was getting client I was also learning on the job as a fresh graduate from school then and after about five years,I exited the system and started money lending and that has earned me more than my salary in 50years. As thus was part of the things I learnt while working in the bank.

If u want to do well for yourself fast, pick up a sales man job, don't also forget that it is tedious, tiring, interesting and funny enough it will certainly lead u to meet people of all kinds and connect u to a whole alot.

In Robert Kiyosakis book,he mentioned that being a sales man helps u create solution, and also help u over come timidity and as well as help u to find solutions to problems e.g peoples problem
.

Pick up the the new job if only u are u sure and good luck to u.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Got Sacked After Asking For My Four Month Salary. by Nice2023(m): 12:33pm On Oct 30, 2023
Abisolababe:
Good morning nairalanders
I think this world is turning to something else

I work with a private organisation where I earn 20k as my monthly stipend
For the past one four month now we have not been paid salary and we dare not ask my boss because she is a disciplined woman who doesn't tolerate nonsense..

Things are really getting hard and I couldn't even afford transport fee to work this morning as I have to trek down to work this morning, and on getting to work I decided to summon courage to ask this woman about my salary, She told me to go back to my duty .
but to my greatest surprise it was sack letter that follows.
I tried talking to her and telling her the situation of things but she wouldn't listen and all what she said is that I have been fired.

I was told to come back ending of November to get my salary..

I don't really know what to do right now, it looks like cheating to me .
This is my sweat, something I have work for ...
In ur write pls I beg remove or expunge that part that says,"she is a disciplined woman" rather say she is a mean woman. Because a discipline woman will never owe people salary.

Obaofaba:
Ipob terrorists at it again.

Kanu and his minions including their sponsors should never see day light again.

But that guy is damned lucky, no other regions in Nigeria will condone his devilish acts except where he held sway before his incarceration.

Instead of the victims to support the government to deal mercilessly with him, they are busy pressurising the government to free their killers.

What a people!!!
Try and know where this market is before u comment nonsense.

This market are hausa and fulani market area. It was Orji Uzor kalu that mapped out this area for them at that time while the nearby village protested against it.

But he refused and today, they have constituted the greatest danger in that area by taking to kidnapping armed robbery and even prostitution.

So,don't say what u don't know.

Most of the kidnappings that happened in Abia,Lokpanta constitutes about 80% of them all.

I don't know how people prefer the life here over the one in Nigeria. I think it's just a defence on the syndrome using something like security, good life and others but I am not part of them. My goal is to make money here and establish myself in Nigeria.

I prefer an insecure Nigeria to a secure UK provided there is money. Let's stop deceiving ourselves. Our main motive here is to make money not that we enjoy life here.
U are a smart guy.

That is the goal.

Funny enough,I have about three children and one on the way...there are ways to manage family these days.

One sure way is to invest 10 to 15 million for for ur children @10% interest minimum. As this can pay their school fees...and possibly feeding.

Then u can rest small but in all,it is not easy at all.

Sequel to my last post where I posted the cow we bought at keffi Road in Nasarawa state.

Here is another post where I and my daughter went to buy some vegetables, onions and pepper, shombo,Tomatoes and okra. In fact, based on previous experience, the cost of these items have dramatically increased such that,I wonder how it would be in December.

A bag of onions is now #75k
A basket of Tomatoes biggest baskets #37,000 and the medium such as the one in my car below is # #22,000.
Okra in plastic baskest is now sold for #1,200.
Big baf of pepper ..........#10,000. We were just 6 of us that shared one bag of pepper and I got a substantial amount of it.

Shombo is the cheapest I got this time around for #2,000 for a plasket basked.

Tatashi just like we call it in yoruba land where I grew up as "omo igbo" i git for a half of basket for #1,500.

Onions is another thing that I had to buy half a quarter bag #9,000. I will show the picture below.

Additionally,i bought ugu the most popular vegetables in Nigeria, for just #1,000. See below how my daughter carried it towards the car.

She was extremely happy to have followed me to the market to see how it feels to be a good father. I feel so grateful seeing her assisting me in carrying little items for me in the market and she did promised to come with me again.

Lastly, there is nothing that can be compared to bulk buying especially in Nigeria of today and doing so would also help in economically managing ur home effectively.

My mom is going to be getting anywhere from $150k-200k from a dog bite injury due to a negligent owner . She'll be 64 soon and needs to get ready for retirement. Thankfully she has no debts and her house is paid off ( she and my dad are separated). First, I figured she should build an emergency fund as she currently doesn't have any savings. I think about $10k should be sufficient for her for any emergencies. That would leave $140k to $190k for investments.
She doesn't have any retirement investments.
Are there any investments you guys would recommend? I think a small amount in crypto wouldn't be bad either at this point. But I'd rather have most of her money in stocks and bonds because of her age.
People who are of that age are often advised to put their money in less risky business/portfolio which means u should eliminate the following;crypto, stocks and other risky investments for a woman of that age.

Treasury bills are low risk...bonds are also good.

The bolt driver by this action has proven a point before the law. And by the same law,he is not permitted to stay more than 24hours in the station and by extention, the so called family are yet to report to the police that they have a missing person.

For now,the guy can report a case of threat against the family until the family officially reports their case.

I don't know if I should be angry or just smile and take it as it is. This is someone that I fed, I clothed despite us being closed friends since we were kids. We could go to a gathering together and I will be the one ordering and paying for everything we bought. Just last week I saw it on his status about is house opening invite. I later got a dm from him that same evening telling me about it that I should come through.
It came as a surprise I admit, even though I know he was doing quite well for himself. I know some will call it entitlement mentality but since I considered we were close like a brother we even ate from same plate last 2weeks, I thought I should have known atleast.
And u are still calling that guy ur friend.

During my second year at the university,I bought UBA shares and in my third year also,I bought Finbank shares now FCMB. These shares are not what they claimed to be. There are some hidden things behind such companies which can only be traced to the manners those CEO's manipulated figures in the past which has affected the present.

After this experience,i can't wish anyone to delve into that journey.

It is not for the faint hearted.
