A civil servant, Faith Ogu, on Tuesday, dragged her unemployed husband, Joseph Ogu, to a Jikwoyi Customary Court in Abuja, seeking for divorce on the grounds that he deceived her about his ’employment’ status. Faith told the court that her jobless husband had deceived her into believing he had a source of livelihood before their marriage, adding that she only got to knew about his status as a ‘jobless’ person after they had tied the knot. “He never told me that he had no job, instead he kept telling me that he works with the Zenith Bank and that he has a business in Lagos, that yields him millions.

“It was after I got married to him that I discovered the whole truth about him,” Faith said. She told the court that Joseph had also told her that he had built a house somewhere in Lugbe, but that after investigating, she realised that it was false. Faith said all her efforts to encourage him find a job did not elicit any positive response, as such she wanted the marriage dissolved. “He is lazy and does not want to do anything for a living; I have been lending him money, hoping that he would pay back. “I sponsored our wedding, I even lent him money to pay my bride price,” she said.

The petitioner said that she had reported the matter to her elder sister to see if she could advise him but to no avail. “I beg this court to dissolve my marriage so that I can be free; I am tired of feed, clothing and paying medical bills for my husband ,” she pleaded. The Presiding Judge, Mr Everyman Eleanya, however reiterated that the respondent had not been in court since the beginning of the case and therefore ordered that a Hearing Notice be pasted in his sister’s house. He adjourned the case to Feb. 9, for continuation of hearing.

Then remove the number of years your sister has worked from your post, that can make her traceable considering the "man fires at will".

Further to your question.

1. The implication of non-remittance is going be

A. a penalty imposition on the employer with full determined interest paid as may be audited covering the years of non-compliance.

B. a legal suit against the employer at the discretion of the regulator PENCOM while ensuring that the employees don't get victimisation.

C. the company will be unable to work with federal government i.e. execution of contracts.

Please, it is very important that we pay very important attention to this and very crucial to restate that this is about the worker and the new act as amended 2014, is to the benefit of the employees where employers are mandated to pay 12% of their Basic Housing & Transport (BHT) allowance before tax direct from company purse in addition to the deduction of 8% from the employee base on his/her BHT tax free.

For all you care this employer may have been evading tax to the detriment of the employees because it becomes a crime in this instance and can lead to prosecution of the "MD" and other responsible officers of the company.

This is your sister's right and she has every rights to demand it - If you will, we will be glad, as a champion of peoples' pension, to resolve this expeditiously on behalf of the company.

Sad submission, lazy and pathetic concurrence.
Can you do your research? PENCOM is independent of FIRs and it is completely wrapped in a 360 degree check and balance system. It may not be perfect but on this issue and integrityit scores 100%.
Do some research or use your company to try it out and see how you will seamlessly run outnof business!

It doesn't work. The MD settles pencom and firs. Once they have been settled at the detriment of fellow Nigerians they will provide them with way of avoiding paying the pension. I know what I talking about.
A typical example of what they do is to give appointment letter to their children, close relatives as employees and some few trusted members of staff and register as evidence of compliance with full collaboration of top officials of pencom and firs.
