The Nigerian Army has debunked the report which said that 1,009 ex-Boko Haram fighters were released to the Borno State government, WonderTV Media reports.

This was contained in a statement released by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu.
Recall that The PUNCH has earlier reported that 1,009 ex-Boko Haram fighters were released to the Borno State government on Wednesday the 14th of July, 2021.

The statement released by the Director of Army Public Relations reads;

“The Nigerian Army (NA) has been notified of a media publication alleging that the NA has handed over 1009 Ex-Boko Haram fighters to Borno State government. The report also alleged that the event was shrouded in secrecy. This report, is obviously one of those attempts to dampen troops’ morale and denegrate the NA, riding on the back of unsubstantiated report and misinformation.

While the NA would not want to join issues with the masterminds of this false narrative, it is important to set the records straight.
It is an indisputable fact that the ongoing Counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency Operations (CTCOIN) in the North East has led to the arrest of several terrorism/insurgency suspects. These suspects have been held in custody, while undergoing profiling and further investigations by experts from the Joint Investigation Centre (JIC) and those who are found culpable are usually handed over to prosecuting agencies accordingly, while those who are not implicated in terrorism and insurgency are cleared and released to the state government for rehabilitation before they are reintegrated into the society. These cleared suspects are therefore not ex Boko Haram fighters, as peddled in the said online report and as the masterminds would want to impress on the public. A total of 1009 cleared suspects, not ex fighters, were therefore released after this rigorous process on Wednesday 14 July 2021. It is also necessary to categorically state that the handing over of the cleared suspects was not shrouded in secrecy as it was witnessed by United Nations Humanitarian and government agencies, in tandem with global best practice.

The NA therefore urges the general public to discountenance this misinformation, as it is evidently a manipulation and distortion of the truth and reality of the event.”

British Airways is urging travellers to consider dropping off their luggage the day before flying after chaotic scenes at Heathrow Airport due to staff shortages.

The UK’s flagship carrier is sending reminders to customers that the airport’s Terminal 5 will be ‘busy’ and that they may want to check-in their bags the night before they fly.

On Monday travellers described scenes of ‘total chaos’ as dozens of security staff failed to show for work because they were ‘pinged’ and told to self-isolate by the NHS app.

Travellers reported only two security lanes being open at one point for thousands of travellers.

Images and video were posted on social media showing travellers packed into Terminal 5 with little social distancing as they waited to get through security.

It meant dozens of flights were delayed and some passengers missed their flights.

BA is now urging travellers to consider dropping off their bags at Terminal 5 between the hours of 4pm and 9pm the night before if they are due to fly before 1pm the next day.

The message being sent by text and email to customers reads: ‘The airport will be busy when you fly.

‘To save time and avoid long queues, you can check in your bag the day before you fly from 16:00 – 21:00 at London Heathrow T5.

‘You can also check-in hand baggage free of charge.’

The chaos at Heathrow on Monday morning affected flights between 7am and 1pm, with the airport drafting in extra staff and insisting the problem had been fixed by the afternoon.

However, with further security staff subject to being ‘pinged’ and having to self-isolate, travellers are being urged to arrive at the airport several hours before they are due to take off.

A BA spokesman said: ‘We are pleased to offer our long-standing twilight check-in service for customers to enable them to start their journey as relaxed as possible.’

* The diving complex has a restaurant equipped with large windows and TV screens, allowing non-diving families and friends to watch from dry land.
* It also has the region’s most advanced hyperbaric chamber with a capacity of 12 people in case of an emergency.

The facility is expected to open to the public in late July and anyone of any experience level can dive, as long as they are 10 years or older.

Is the blood of HIV/AIDS patient sellable? And where can one buy. or Is there any incurable disease one can infect another without being infected?

A friend of mine dated a guy some years back and got pregnant for the guy. At first he denied the pregnancy. My friend aborted the pregnancy. two years later he came back and begged for forgiveness. My friend forgave him and the started dating. A year after two years of dating my friend got pregnant again for him and this time around he admitted and begged my friend to abort it which she did.
