A former Catholic priest tried to import vile child pornography into the country, a court has heard.

Peter Andrew Hansen, 61, pleaded guilty to 23 child exploitation charges when he faced Central Local Court, in Sydney, on Wednesday.

Hansen, a Labor party branch president, from Cabramatta, has been behind bars since last October when he returned home from a four month teaching stint in Vietnam.

Hansen was initially charged with three offences after he was arrested at Sydney International Airport when Australian Border Force officers found child pornography on an external hard drive in his luggage.
He was later charged with an extra 22 charges, two of which have since been withdrawn.

On Wednesday, the court heard disturbing details of the child pornography material Australian Border Force officers found in Hansen's luggage, including [/b]seven videos of boys engaged in sexual acts.[b]

According to the police fact sheet, the videos showed [/b]boys who were 'instructed to remove their clothing and perform sexual acts on themselves and other children'.[b]

A former pastor [/b]avoided a trial after pleading to a sexual assault charge[b] on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Christopher Cox, the former pastor of Long Lake Church in Traverse City, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree criminal sexual assault, according to 9&10 News.
The TV station was the only news outlet in the courtroom when the plea was given.

Cox faced several charges of sexual assault and a charge of delivering or manufacturing methamphetamine, according to the Associated Press.

The assaults occurred March 12 and in October at Cox’s Traverse City home, AP reported.

The March 12 accuser -- a 19-year-old man -- told police his life was threatened if he told anyone about the incident at Cox’s business office in Garfield Township.
Cox was arrested on March 29 in Muskegon, according to the AP.

At the time of his arrest, police said he was in possession of a package white crystalline substance suspected to be crystal meth.

Third-degree sexual assault involves penetration as well as that the offender “has reason to know that the victim is mentally incapable, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless, according to Michigan law.

In court, [/b]Cox admitted his victim was physically helpless, and that he didn’t have permission to have sex with him,[b] according to 9&10 News.

A caretaker of religious place here unleashed his pet lion on an electrician for demanding wages, recently.

According to the Pakistani media report, a case of attempt to murder has been registered against the caretaker. Though the incident took place on September 9 in the capital of Punjab province, the complaint was lodged just two days ago.

According to the police, electrician Mohammad Rafique didn't file any complaint against Ali Raza, caretaker of congregation hall Sada-e-Imam Hussain, as he had been promised proper treatment of injuries received in the lion attack.

But when Raza refused to get his wounds treated and pay the compensation he had promised, Rafique lodged the complaint, the police said.

Raza had hired Rafique for some work at the congregation hall. When Rafique demanded the wages on the completion of the job, Raza told him to come later. "The caretaker kept delaying the payment. But when Rafique persisted, Raza got annoyed and unleashed his pet lion on him. The lion wounded his face and arm," the police said.

Rafique's cry for help alerted some passers-by and they rescued him from the lion, the police said. A case under section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code has been lodged against Raza.

Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari was murdered in Lucknow on Friday (18 October) by unknown assailants.

As reported by Financial Express, the assailants had entered his office in the Uttar Pradesh capital on pretext of giving him a gift. After entering they repeatedly shot him before fleeing. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The modus operendi of the murder is not yet clear as some media reports claim that he was stabbed multiple times which led to his death. Reports have also claimed that his throat was slit.

Tiwari had made headlines for making a controversial remark against Prophet Mohammed in 2015 following which he was booked under the National Security Act (NSA).

A Shelby County man accused of stabbing, raping and pouring insecticides down his neighbor's throat is also a local pastor with a criminal past.

Memphis police say 58-year-old Norman Hudson forced himself into his neighbor’s home, grabbed a knife from her kitchen and raped her.

The police affidavit said that Hudson hit the victim, stabbed her in the neck and then poured the insecticides down her throat.

He faces charges for attempted murder, aggravated rape, robbery and several others.

A sign in front of Do you Believe Outreach Ministry on North Holmes Street names Hudson as the pastor of the church.

The incident Hudson is accused of happened on the morning of Oct. 9 on Wrenwood Street, just off Macon Road.

Neighbors in the area said they are more cautious after hearing about what happened.
"I don’t want to see anything like that happen ever again," one man said. "I know that detectives were here all day."

He did not want to be identified, but he recalled what happened Wednesday morning.

"They brought out a woman on a stretcher and we realized something happened to her," the man said.

The affidavit said Hudson also forced the woman to give him her bank card pin number that he later used to steal money from her account.

"Noticed around 8:30 that there were detectives and squad cars converging on that house," the man we spoke with said.

Hudson’s criminal record goes back to the early 1990s and includes charges like assault and aggravated robbery.

He remains in jail for his most recent charges on a $500,000 bond.

A former South Carolina pastor who was arrested earlier this year on child sex charges is headed to prison, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Phillip Jerard Buckson, 32, of Boiling Springs, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor 11 to 14 years old in Spartanburg County, according to the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.

He was sentenced to 20 years, suspended to 10 years and 5 years of probation, must register as a sex offender, and can have no contact with the victim. Two charges were dismissed.

Buckson was a formerly senior pastor at Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church, according to the church website.

A news release from authorities in February said an investigation began Jan. 30, when a Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office investigator assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received two tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators said the girl was found and gave a detailed statement to investigators about her involvement with Buckson.
The girl said she had sexual intercourse with Buckson many times in multiple locations starting when she was 13. She said she became pregnant twice and had abortions to terminate the pregnancies.
Investigators said that once he was taken into custody, Buckson gave a full confession to the allegations.

According to the church’s website at the time of his arrest, Buckson was born and raised in Gaffney and attended Spartanburg Methodist College, where he played basketball.

Buckson served as one of the coordinators for the Cherokee County School Curriculum Council, the website says. He previously served as pastor at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Iva.

He had been senior pastor at Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church in Spartanburg since 2014.

HEADLINE: West Alabama preacher pleads guilty to handling young girl!!!

A west Alabama preacher has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing an underage girl three years ago.

Gregory Lucy, 63, of Dixon Mills, was arrested in 2016 after being indicted on four counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of attempted rape. Lucy is a bishop at El Shaddai AOH church.

According to court records, Lucy was accused of handling the girl’s breasts and genitals in March of that year. Authorities didn’t say whether the victim was a member of Lucy’s congregation.
Lucy this week pleaded guilty in a Marengo County courtroom to one count of first-degree sex abuse. As part of his plea agreement, the other charges against him were dismissed.

District Attorney Greg Griggers is recommending a 10-year prison sentence for the Class C felony conviction, records show. Griggers said in court documents the state will be opposed to any probation or any type of split sentence for Lucy.

Lucy appeared before Circuit Judge Eddie Hardaway and declined to make a statement before the court. Hardaway then adjudicated him guilty. A sentencing date has not been set and Lucy remains free on bond.

Lucy graduated from Marengo High School and attended Bishop State Community College in Mobile. He also has degrees from International Bible Institute in Plymouth, Fla., Concordia College in Selma and the University of West Alabama.

An Arizona man was arrested in connection to the death of his 6-year-old son after [/b]he told investigators he poured hot water down the boy's throat to rid the child of a demon,[b] according to NBC affiliate KVOA in Tucson.

Pablo Martinez told police that he was performing an exorcism on the little boy Thursday because [/b]the child "was demonic and had a demon inside of him,"[b] KVOA reported, citing court documents.

The boy's adoptive mother, Romelia Martinez, told detectives that her son "had been acting demonic" and her husband offered to give the boy and their other child a bath. She told police that she could hear gurgling coming from the bathroom and when she opened the door she saw Pablo Martinez holding the 6-year-old underneath the faucet in the bathtub, according to KVOA.

Romelia Martinez said she yelled at him to stop and he told her that "he had to do it." She then called 911, telling the operator that at that time her husband was attempting CPR and poured cold water on the child.

A Stockton pastor who runs a business with former Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva is now accused of running an illegal gambling operation.

FOX40 first met Pastor Thai “John” Nguyen two years ago.

“’Mr. Mayor, you want bacon in that?’ And he said, ‘No, I want a double cheeseburger,’” Nguyen said at the time.

At the time, he was waiting for Silva to bail out.

On Tuesday, he was arrested and accused of running a now shut down illegal gambling operation on North El Dorado Street in Stockton.

It was a far cry from his work as a pastor and co-owner of a family-oriented, inflatable water park that he runs with Silva.

Nguyen claims he was not running an illegal gambling hall.
“Yeah, because it’s an arcade,” he told FOX40 while in jail. “You put the money there, you’re playing, you’re shooting airplane ... and nothing is really, like, violent.”

He said what he was trying to run was a thrift shop and that he had only been managing the place for the past two months.

“What I do is from my heart and to bring this to the community. You see a lot of homeless are coming and I’m trying to help the homeless,” Nguyen said.
Coincidentally, that's when investigators began their work.

“Our detectives from our Vice Unit has been looking at this establishment for approximately the last two months,” said Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva.

Officer Silva said numerous illegal items were taken by investigators.

“Thirty computers, [/b]along with three gaming tables that were used for the purpose of gambling, along with a large amount of cash and multiple firearms,”[b] Silva said.
[/b]That included a stolen gun.[b]

Nguyen claims none of those weapons were his.

“Everything they found is somewhere that I don’t even go,” he said.

At the end of the interview, Nguyen shared an apology to his customers, congregates and community.

“I’m sorry for what I did, I didn’t know it was wrong,” Nguyen said.

Nguyen is scheduled to be in court Thursday afternoon.
