What's your point? I am a natural born American from centuries back. Any child born from me will be an American citizen no matter where the child is born. If I move to Nigeria and have a child with one of its citizens guess what, the child is still American and Nigerian., dual citizenship I guess.
.....
Well said!!!!.

Natural born means anyone born on U.S. soil and subject to its jurisdiction is a natural born citizen, regardless of parental citizenship
....
This is normal but natural born laws as practised in the US also recognise a child born in any part of the world(not limited to US jurisdictions) to a US citizen is considered and treated as US citizen at birth.

Those lawyers that suppose to be defending the government policies like this are the ones opposing them yet they criticise and compare their leaders with their counterparts abroad who use taxes paid by their citizens to develop their countries.
Besides, why is the NBA most pained by the way??.is it because some of them are now property agents instead of practising laws??...I don't just understand.

The website quoted is not run by US govt.but what the "natural born" laws clearly states is that any child born abroad to a US citizen is considered a natural born.
Simply put, irrespective of where a child is born,is a US citizen at birth and can vie for the presidency of the United States.

That's not true.,he can as well become the president cos one of his parents is a US citizen at birth.
Take Texas senator Ted Cruz as a typical example.he was never born in the United states but ran for the presidency last time.

Lolss @BJ,...well done on your AOS steps taken so far..it will sure end in praise but you need not become too worried, anxious or impatience over this thing.it will drop at the right time no matter how you feel, you are already on the right track.

That lady must have lied in her EDD disclosure if not no commercial airline would have been able to fly her in that condition and even some airlines could have sued her for negligence, emotional distress and safety issues.
About the issue of citizenship, the child automatically attain the citizenship of his parents,in this case the mother was traveling on a Nigeria passport which makes the child a nigeria citizen except she also has a dual nationality.the idea of which country own the aircraft or which airspace the child was born don't matter here as the child would be referred to as foreign born.
So the child is a Nigerian!!!!.

And why should anybody worried about what's going on in the white house??..
AOS has been a standard practice from inception in every country of the world and it shouldn't pose any concern whatever who occupies the white house think or say.
Let everyone do the right thing and you would be fine.

Meanwhile immigration reforms in the united states has been on for years and each administration upon administration has not been able to do much about it except issuing an executive order which only last the lifetime of that administration if not challenged in court.
Immingration reforms is a sole responsibility of the Congress and no party is willing to do something serious about it cos they are afraid of its backlash.
Whatever trump say or think is his own personal opinion which has no bearing on anything at this point.he's just trying to use DACA deal as a means to achieve his sinister motives.Americans are wiser now.

Happy sunday to you too and thank you.

Am very sure your wifey has a F setup in her phone and already conditioned her mind around that, think about when she ask you about weather reports and you give her the report in C..I can only imagine her guess.

Whether F or C ....the degree of hot or cold remains the same. Its all about the metric system the country decides to adopt. I hated F back in school for Physics. To convert from F to C, deduct 32, then multiply by 5, then divide by 9 (C = (F-32)*5/9) and from C to F multiply by 9, then divide by 5, then add 32 (F = (C*9/5) + 32 grin ...too much calculations shei? Stick to your C jaaaare. Happy Sunday. God is with you.
.....
You cannot stick to C while living in countries that measure with F,though the weather conditions still remain same but you will ended up confusing yourself and confuse other people around you in the long run.there's much difference in the figures BTW F and C...

Bigtt76 advised me to check on YouTube which is infact very useful. I will search on eBay for used OEM oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and fix the oxygen sensor. The title of the car just came in the mail today and very soon I might sell it but i always feel comfortable with the ride.

Why did you file i131. You planning to go to Nigeria soon?
.....
I would just advise you drive that car as it is until it's finally packed up and thrash it cos it's an old car,so the issues of engine light coming up will always comes up cos most of its functioning parts are well past there lifetime.

PS.....but what is the big deal driving a 2013 model car in 2018??..if you can't afford it straightaway, then go get from a dealer and an average $300-400/month...it would save you a lot of stress. Also,if you must buy an older vehicle, make sure you look the way of toyota or honda cos they have less electrical issues unlike Nissan makes.

If you have a fiance/boyfriend/girlfriend that is a US citizen and it is looking promising and really serious, I think you both should look into the form I-130 (I-130, Petition for Alien Relative - USCIS)

He/ she can file a petition for you and when the petition is approved (usually takes between 2-5months), you can go to the US embassy or consulate close to you to get a K1 visa which allows you to come to the US and finish the other process of becoming a permanent resident here in the US.

it is a straightforward

anyone that is connected to the US through relationship to a USC can look into this. it is 2018 people!!!
......

@BJ,
It's easier said than done,....form I-130 is for relatives and getting a K1 from the process is a hard nut to crack.

grin grin grin grin. Thank you for the advise. But you got the picture wrong. Pigin dey hard ti explain everything sometimes. If i say Mrs K said this or that. What i actually "Mrs K suggested that" or "Mrs K's opinion is"

She's calling no short. I think i have to elaborate better the kind of person she is (maybe on some other post) and the kind of person i am.

Also i want you to know that here is not like naija. Everyone has an opinion, even kids. America is a very opinionated country, you can't disregard other person's opinion just becuase you want to "take charge". Regardless, she listens to me and take my advise 99% of the time. That's why we have been able to work on our issues.

Let me write the direct transcript of our conversation lile i remembered it

Mrs K: (on Amazon looking for a winter jacket)Babe i like this one, should i buy it?

Me: (checks computer sees price) chineke!!, 189$?. No!, e too cost. I think you can get it cheaper on cyber Monday. Why not wait or check eBay. you have to buy a size larger though.

Mrs K: it's not that expensive you know. Besides, its a brand name. And why a size larger?

Me:So it fits next year, you know, just incase we got preg

Mrs k: i actually been reading about that and post baby fats. I really think we should change our diet to include more vegetables and healthy options. It's for our own good and also the baby. I need your support about it. You know i can't do it on my own. Think about it as you finally getting the six packs.

Me: with all the food wey you chop sef, you no even change. I'd have to think about it. Make a list of things we need to cut out of our groceries and the list of the healthy options. Let's see what we need to improve on

Mrs K: (Making a list) (first on list, Pizza)

Me: (saw pizza). No, not pizza. You can decide not to eat pizza.

Mrs K: (makes the list without pizza). I'm gonna buy you baby books for xmas (while giggling uncontrollably).

Me: (stares at her)

Mrs K: c'mon, its cute. It gets you prepared mentally.(still laughing)

*Notification comes up on her Facebook*

Conversation changes to getting an oil change , back to winter jacket, to the amount of points i have on Jet blue airline, to spending xmas in New york.....
...

@BJ,

Wow!!..let me say I salute your calmness and your maturity from your comment above.let's just say I was a bit harsh with my comment but I was glad you got the point I was trying to make unlike some who claim to love you more than you love yourself and wanted to murder me for given you such a "bad" advise.
My comments so far on this thread have not only been unbiased but balanced and were centered solely on what you wrote here which may not be exactly how it is in your home in real life,so to those shouting gender equality,Africa mentality etc,i excuse your ignorance.

Mrs K is doing alright. She said we must change our diet and eat healthier and exercise more, i should read more books so we can be in a good mental state and prepare to have a baby (see me se wahalah, no be to just do am more often? grin grin).

Now, our budget for groceries is about 150% higher. We most likely will be spending 150-200$ on foods (really good stuffs like she said, i no really too care)

Now am forced to say this,i think it's high time you manned up and take charge of your home.you need to stop this your MS K said this, she said that, she wants this, she wants that...it's obvious she's the one calling the shots here and it's a big aberration that should never be allowed to linger on.this is how it starts and before you know it,you won't have any inputs whatsoever in the running of the house if care is not taking.

@BJ, big congratulations on your wedding...thankfully it has come and gone now,you can now focus your mind on things that matters....making your marriage works cos from some of your posts recently,it's obvious you would need extra efforts to keep your marriage going..I said this because irrespective of where you married from,no woman would like that you said happened (investments back home) and would be happy, remember you once said her colleague has been trying to turn her against you,it won't stop there just because you are now married,so pls do more to solidify your relationship.
Secondly,I would advise you focus more on investing where your family is at this time so you don't let the woman start attaching any truthful approach to what she has been hearing.
I work in the XYZ,(if you know what that means),Pls know today that any investments you do anywhere on the surface of this earth equally belongs to her if not entirely,so invest wisely.(hopefully I get to talk privately with you soon).
In all,you just entering a new chapter in your life which can have an adverse effect on what comes out of your life in the US,so all your thoughts, deeds and prayers would have to center on how to make your family succeed and not that wild feelings either of you can just wake up one day and decides to take a walk
.it's not gonna be your portion IJN...it may not end well..pls take heed.
It's well with you.

you're not entirely wrong. but you are wrong about J1 not being able to Adjust status. Like i mentioned earlier on in the thread. J1 visa is the easiest sorta work Visa to get. Most times, it comes with conditions. As long as you are not subjected to the 2 years rule, you can adjust. if you are, you will need a waiver from USCIS applied through department of state
....

Every j1 visas come with 2 years rules and you can change that through waivers for sure but the waivers are not automatics..I have a relation in this category..if I start narrating her ordeal while trying to change status ehn,no be small matter my brother and the waiver can be done through your country high commission on the United states.so don't think it's a sure banker.
Besides apart from getting married, your only option as a J1 is to change your status to F1 which most time still requires you to travel back to your home country as this is the law.

Bro, i have enough questions. I've been thinking about the whole process and i honestly wanna leave to apply for K1 visa (Lady K having a nervous break down with me even mentioning leaving cry cry cry) .

First question, is the interviewing process that serious? what do they ask? Do they interview couples separately?
.....
As someone rightly pointed out,you don't need a K1 visa since you are already in the United states.
Also, you don't need any attorney to help you through your filling process cos it's self explanatory except you have some money to dash out.
Let it be known that the purpose of couple interviews is to verify if you have a bona-fide relationship with each other and only you guys and not your lawyers will do that for you.Besides, most interviews are relatively easy (have heard and assisted some friends through this),(it even makes the whole interview easier if there's an evidence of pregnancy or a child is already involved) except if they noticed some red flags which can be just anything and sometimes the interviews are held separately..(so @op be prepared as your case is not that common as well....black man marrying a white lady.but since you guys have been living together for sometimes now according to you,you should be fine but you need to master every details.
All the best.

Let me lend my own opinion on the subject matter, this may just be an addition to what some peeps have already mentioned.
Concerning status changes....the most effective way is through marriage follow by student visa (if you can afford that since you have to pay as an international students, this after completion may afford you an HB1 depending on your circumstances and later leads to green card).
As for J1,you can't change from bi/b2 to j1 once you are already in the United states,as J1 visas are mostly through sponsors such as research institutes or your institution you work for....even that,it has its own cons and pros but you can NEVER attain green card through JI category ).
