Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy: 10:11pm On Aug 05, 2019
We just need jobs bro. To earn a living. Good jobs that won't destroy our mental health and leave us for dead.

geektrovert:
Aside.

@Jarus and other economists in the house. Something that has been bothering my mind.

In the current market conditions of Nigeria nowadays, is it better to play in the premium segment or mass market?

I mean, some brands play premium (their earnings model is based on higher brand value and higher GM - gross margin e.g Cocacola, Pampers), while others play to the volume (lower GM, but higher volume e.g. indomie, molfix, Bigi Cola)

What's your take on this guys? (Sorry I'm putting it on this thread)

Good morning oga Jarus cheesy How are you sir? smiley

NigelCundy:
Hello sir @Jarus , please sir I want to kindly ask if you can clarify with your sources on the issue of sms notification being sent to successful candidates. Like I mentioned some days ago, with a few people also confirming same; I have never received an SMS from the corporation, only mails. So, I'd like to know if the notification will come in form of mail and SMS.
Anyone with useful information can also respond to this.

Thank you and God bless you.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy: 6:40pm On Aug 01, 2019
How did you get the contact of the person that processed your payment? I'm confused

Afootee:
To clear the air a bit, I just called the woman who processed my payment(she called me on the 16th to confirm my account details and I got paid the following day).
I told her many of my friends have not received the TP fare, what could be the reason for the delay. She told me They are done with all the lists sent to them, she said we should contact nnpc that she only works for the bank. .

I was paid by farouk
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy: 8:50pm On Jul 31, 2019
I am interested in the bolded bro. Please don't hesitate to share

Swargu:
Ok let me burst some bubbles, just finished speaking to a contact.
Believe if you want but please do not quote or insult me, usually don't reply..
I called someone he seems to know more about TF than the APL..and i was like "damn it let's talk about TF".

He said some staff where paid millions to disburse to all that attended depending if distance/state.

He even mentioned temba and Faroouks name without me saying anything , he said he knows so cos he saw a payment slip with one of them.

Wondered if they fixed the money and said anything is possible. Everyone will get paid.

So 1% cry I am sorry, AB I am sorry cry there's no relation, maybe na cashout them take dey pay everybody.

Also he said they still maintain the 1300 staff they intended employing as that is what they got approval for.

They are yet to finish collation or marking or whatever it is called and yet to send to top management, sounded so sure.

I am just sharing it cos I know alot are scared and alot are still prouding...

Feel free to insult or debunk, i won't be replying any of it..

Note: my source may not know all so do good not to insult me.

Oh oh and in addition I forgot this part, if there is anyone that haven't received payment by next week he will provide me a number abi contact where they can lay complaint

Hello bro. Thanks for clarifying things for us. If it's not a hassle, could you please ask your brother if those who didn't put down their details due to circumstances beyond their control can still do that, and how we should go about it.

We'll greatly appreciate if you can help us.

Thank you sir.

Onunu:
Now to put an end to the saga of the relationship between Tfare and APL:

PS: You’re free to not believe me. I know I’m way too matured to spread fake news or just to generate clout for no reason. I’ll attach proof to this.

1. I had my interview on the 2nd and received alert last week.
2. I kept reading about the theories here and truly it got me thinking that they might be some truth to it.
3. I decided to investigate through the networks available to me.
4. I discovered that Terhemba king anyam (popularly known as King) works with a bros of mine at nnpc (I know about 4 close people working in the towers).
5. I decided to contact my bros to help clarify what I’ve been reading on Nairaland today. He promised to get back to me.
6. At midday I got impatient and decided to put a call through but his number was busy. Tried later after an hour and it was busy and he didn’t return the call.
7. He texted and said he’ll get back to me. That he wants to call the TA to the GMD to clarify.
8. Not to long ago, he called and told me that he wasn’t able to get through to the TA because of how busy they are and he’ll most likely get to him at night, but, he called King and king said that THERE’S NO TRUTH to the rumour. That they are working on paying everyone. That they are working based on lists and the work is still on going.

You got an SMS inviting you for CBT and Interview?

I'm asking because I never received an SMS from the corporation, the only means of communication has been through mails.

PhilipGallagher:
NNPC did not just start learning how to send sms today. They sent for CBT, they sent for interview, they sent for re-scheduling. They don't need to test run something they already know how to operate. Since they did not test run for before sending out CBT, interview, and rescheduling, i doubt they would need to test run before sending out employment feedback.

I might be wrong, but there is a strong chance that i'm not.

Please lets not start another theory that would take like 20 pages of this thread.

You're welcome.

Just heard Niger Delta Youths were planning to protest the ongoing recruitment because they believe the region wasn't well represented in the interview. They have since called it off due to the unrest in the nation's capital.
Honestly hope it doesn't affect the whole process.

So, what are you saying sir?

darado:
Let us reason with our number 7 plz. Do you know how long and cumbersome it is to get approval for recritment? HR via Governing Board via bla bla finally to Buhari for final review and approval? And now someone will just escalate to you that process is ongoing to increase or reduce number of hirings. Should even this be true, expect APL by December 2019 at least. We need to know the process of getting approvals, in particular when it involves presidential table. Now that nnpc is lobbying to get approvals for CBA and u expect the new GMD to meet President with a talk different from what Dr. Baru documented? A beg bring another reasonable story plz. NNPC Processess no be state govts type oooo that u can change and change.
Thank you guyz
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy:
Beautiful experience bro. Congratulations in advance.

Kspicz:
Since everyone is sharing thier interview experience, let me share mine too. I had mine on the 9th of July 2019, where i and 5 other candidates where accomplained to the waiting room by a HR officer. I observed we all had studied similar courses in our first degree ( History, tourism, international relations between)buts from different parts of the country. Prior to this, I have tried to prepare for this interview but was uncertain because i had graduated since 2014 plus i practiced as a human resources Officer before starting up a business of my own.

While in the waiting room, I observed there was an active CCTV watching us hence i had to modify my conducts knowing the implication of being an organization misfit. The nice receptionist tried making us feel at ease by informing us it was about being able to display confidence. After two persons, my name was finally called, I stood up and was lead by the panel secretary, a northern man in his mid 30's with a mean look like into the interview room.

My panel was constituted by four persons( two women one roof which was the panel chairperson and two men) . I was offered a seat by the panel chairperson no sooner had i settled they named jocks of my surname which had element of royalty from the Igbo race. Next i was asked to relax as they were my mother's and uncles for the day. The panel chairperson briefly took her leave, then one of the male panelist introduced the panel members. I dashed to pick up my jotter but was halted as he said he believed i must have written i had listening skills. He quickly persued through my CV but couldn't find it. No sooner had he finished, the Chairperson return and refund introduced the panel. She asked if she looked like my mum and i replied she was as beautiful as my mum. She also I required the meaning of my name which i told them, then they refer it to a veteran journalist which luckily enough i was named after. Then they inquired about my state of origin, lga and date of birth which i furnished them with the information.

To the business of the day, a male panelist commented on the recruitment process and how they were iching for retirement inother to go rest as well as access thier pension, then he asked what did i think the recruitment process was all about? I responded succession planning. He was impressed then said he didn't need to ask me why i wanted to work with NNPC.

Next, the chairperson provided a scenario on the dumping on good in Africa by neocolonial super powers then asked me what i understood by globalisation? I defined it and gave an example of the use of social media which had made connect with peeps easier than in the days of letters. Then was a follow up questions on the advantages and disadvantages of globalisation. I provided a few before the Chairperson interrupted it was enough. Then, I was asked a situational based question on the impact of goods dumping on local manufacturing. I responded by giving example of how it affected local production negatively especially in Nigeria. A question was on a skill i would like to develop i.e tailoring and i responded cooking and they panel laughed and nicked named me 'Ofe Owerri'. Then a question on steps undertaken in decision making, i mentioned five, then the chairperson asked what steps i undertook in prioritizing i mentioned a few but she was still expecting me to mention something, I told them that was all i knew, she added availability of others then i thought why didnt i think of that? Then i realized i worked in the private sector, no one asked if you where available, they just dump things on your end. Well i noted the correction and the interview process.I was asked a situation where i had to use my decision making skills and i gave the instance of registering my business and they were okay with that. It was the other lady's turn to ask her question, then she asked me if i drive and i responded " not at the moment" she re emphasised do you drive or not then i responded i have never driven. She then asked me safety precautions i would take when being driven by another on a rainy day. I managed to mention four, then I said i would look at my mirror from time to time to ensure i wasn't being followed. Then all responsed on a rainy day? I stood my ground insisting people could get followed irrespective of the weather conditions ( diary of a Lagos boy). They were satisfied but then i added the no drinking or sustainance abuse.
Then the male panelist asked me for the word i used in concluding, i felt he didn't hear me right, I said "in a nutshell" but he heard "on", I didn't argue or claim right, noted it and thanked him( I am human, not perfect). Then i was given a chance to asked my question, I asked about the change management process in NNPC and it's impact so far which was addressed by the chairperson who provided insight on the process so far. Next, I asked on the impact of AI on the operations of NNPC? She also responded to this before one of the male panelist added some more information and informed me that if i had talked about it in my globalisation question, i did have received all the marks plus a standing ovation. Well what is done is done!

As a HR practitioner we believe it is wrong for an applicant to come for an interview without preparing a question on the organisation. It gives a bad impression on your candidancy or your intentions for joining the organization. But what do i know, I don't have public service experience! Interviews are all about Knowledge, skills, attitude and experience, please be guided! Recruitment would also be inline with organisations' values, it is formal, there is no absolute rule but moderation is key! Your panel is laughing, joking or playing with you, respond adequately but don't forget your professionalism, because everything about you is being assessed ie talk, act, sit, behave etc and the best way to get that information is to make you relax and unguarded but like I would say what do i know, no public service experience ! Las Las, we go dey alright! Pray for grace and favour.

I wish all GT and EH the very best! See you at the towers, God willing!

Panel 29?

uxomykaz:
Hello Everyone!
I was scheduled for 9th July, 7am.
We were only four present when the list was called for 7am to go meet our panelist.
I was the third to be interviewed. I was invited into the room by the secretary, then offered a seat by the chief panelist. The chief panelist asked how was my journey from Lagos, and when I arrived into Abuja. Then each of the panelist introduced themselves, and I was asked to introduced myself in 30 seconds.
I kept it short and simple , highlighting the necessary info I believed they wanted to here, and they nodded when I was done.

The first question was "from your CV, I can see you have a knowledge of database, views, and tables since you are a technology officer at xyz bank, tell us what is stored procedure in database" I explained what a procedure is and what "stored" meant and related it to database

The second question was "tell us a time when a colleague at work , wasn't doing their duty, how did you react" I answered in the direction of trying to know why the colleague wasn't doing their job and motivating the colleague in the way I could.

The third question, " Give me five safety precautions to take while driving on a rainy day" ****Use of wiper, Seatbelt, Driving at a reduced speed , traffic light, Use of pointer were my response.

The Fourth question, "from ur CV , you talked about disaster recovery on database, tell us a time when you recovered from a disaster" My response was to ask if they were talking about recovering from a work related disaster or life experience (personal) and they said a personal experience, I gave my response, while they noted certain things down on their papers.

Then I was asked by the chief panelist, if I had any question, I commended the whole recruitment process and asked the chief panelist "what would be his advise to a newly employed GT into the organization" He laid emphasis on being open minded. I was thanked for coming, and on my way out , the safety officer called me back for the famous handshake, lol.

I believe I did my best, praying to God for Success!

Wishing us all the best, irrespective of the outcome.

The funny thing is after the cbt, I moved on. I'm sure many of us did and I didn't even remember I wrote any test until I got the invitation for interview. Then I started to believe, and here we all are today believing and postulating whatever theory suits us.
In all fairness, if we had about 300-500 MDAs conducting recruitments like this (maybe regularly too), things possibly wouldn't be this tensed and everyone would be assured of a good life regardless of where we earn our money.

bobowaja:
Lol... I laugh when people said d cbt was easy at my centre. All the answer options to the questions looks like an answer (it is a trick). You have to be calm, logical and be sure of what you know to pick the correct one.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy: 9:04am On Jul 26, 2019
You seem to have very good info bro, kudos. Could you please confirm who are those that won't receive Tfare?

Clifwoods:
Why did the mods delete this comment? Obviously because someone here reported and doesn't want people to know the first criteria used.

Just like the CBT, cut off mark was first set at 75%, then later reduce to 70%. The interview cut off mark was set at 60% and those who did not score up to that were first removed.

As for Tfare, not everyone will receive it.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy: 8:56pm On Jul 25, 2019
Okay sir.

chidiebereuzoma:
I didn't say explicitly that I was interviewed on 2nd. I was actually interviewed on 5th... ICT GT, panel 26.
Go back and read my post
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy: 8:51pm On Jul 25, 2019
He first stated that he was interviewed on the 5th then later claimed 2nd. Don't be surprised if he didn't even apply for the job. Some people are just trolls causing unnecessary panic.

Bankalert:
From No. 5 above, i can deduce that you have been told by the "HR", that those that have received Tfare are the chosen ones for APL. cheesy cheesy...

This is because you have also been paid as you stated earlier and you were interviewed on Day 2, and you think spilling it out will affect your luck. The earlier stand you are referring to in No. 4 is the access bank theory, of which the above I deduced goes against cheesy

I hope that "works out" for "you" though... Else it will just be sad.

It stills remains TF/NO TF is not equal to APL gbam!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by NigelCundy: 4:02pm On Jul 25, 2019
Really man? Why build up tension only to leave people halfway? That is a tragic and heartless thing to do.

If your information is solid please go ahead and share it. If it's not, don't cause unnecessary panic among people whose faiths are up. Be kind!

chidiebereuzoma:
I'm really having a fight with my conscience on whether it's right for me to say this or not. Because I know it's going to affect some people (not all). My conscience says no that it's not proper.
