nateevs: I am not a huge fan of Arsene Wenger but this 5h1t must go down as the most perpeutated myth in the whole world. Wenger did not get youth policy wrong. What Wenger failed to do is balance. One will be mad to say Wenger's trusting of Fabregas at the time didn't yield a world class player. What he failed to do is go out there and get a ready made Defender and striker for the much needed balance.
Isn't it funny that when folks want to shut down the Youth argument, they turn to 'Wenger's failed policy?'
And to the question 'why do we need youth?, I repeat again. Count yourselves lucky mate.
No offense but you young and new folks are supporting Chelsea with the 'new money' so I can understand this pride that goes with a seemingly annoying sense of entitlement; the one responsible for the "we need ready-made material" statements. Because just like the half-baked analysis with Arsene Wenger, folks just somehow forget to realise that Roman has covered losses for up to a decade to the tune of over £1bn. And that in another life, with another owner, much of the injected funds will not have happened. Then we will be forced to plug that hole somehow yet still compete. How do you plug the hole? By doing what other clubs do - giving youth a chance. And yes I mean even the inexperienced ones.
Why do we need youth? You folks need to get a proper dose of reality. I hope Roman refuses to spend money for 3 years. Which new money side is not suffering losses? Which new money side is fielding homegrown youth? Definitely not PSG. Definitely not City |

Bimffo: Bamford was awarded the best player in Championship last Year. He cant be worse than Falcao. Falcao has 1 Goal.
Ake has gone on series of loans and still doesn't get a Chance. Seriously, we should just scrap off the system.
and about PvA. If his team is rock bottom, where is our team.? Are we any better.? And You cant compare the quality of players at Chelsea with the quality at Sunderland and we are not even better.
Lastly, Bertrand's case. We sold the ninja for £10 million. I wailed and Cried on this thread the night we sold that guy. Some of You came at me that it was the the best thing to do.. A year later we bought a Shakiri molested Baba. Bertrand was chosen as the best left back of the league, and since he left, we have not got 1 win from a league fixture against Soton.
RLC just needs time and Reorientation. As Ibime said, He lacks work ethics. And maybe a few loans will help him out. But right now he can not perform worse than Ramires. Oh please.... Is it Mourinho that is keeping Bamford on the bench at Palace? And Bertrand is an average Left Back. It's one thing to shine at Southampton who dont have any title aspirations and just want to finish somewhere in the top half. It's another thing to go to each match with the club, fans and manager demanding a win each game. I agree that in hindsight that we maybe should have kept Bertrand...but as what? He had a few chances under several different mangers but failed to make the spot his own. |

It's also important to remember that Alli was competing with Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason for a midfield spot....not Matic and Fabregas
In that regard his route to an EPL first team spot is much smoother Nd easier than RLC's.
Even with that Dele has by far outperformed any of the Chelsea youngsters. Pochettino recently came out to say that Dele was the fittest of all his players at the start of pre-season. |

RLC shitts on Dele Alli? Sometimes I wonder what this Bimffo has for tea in the morning Bimffo my nigga, Dele Alli is not RLC's mate in terms of experience or even skill. He was an integral part of the MK Dons team that won promotion to the championship last season, whilst RLC was busy scratching his bum in the reserves. And this is where you keep missing the point. Let RLC go and play real football first against real footballers before he can stake his claim. I don't rate u-21 and reserve football. I don't rate Vitesse football either. PvA that you shouted about is rock bottom of the league. Bamford that you shouted about can't get a sniff at Palace. The difference between reserve football and real football is as wide as Cossy's Toto...and you know how wide that is... |

raumdeuter: All these are excuses. Which one is govt subsidised football?
At the time Bayern blooded Alaba, Muller etc. We were not even Buli defending champions. Between 09 and 12 when these players solidified themselves into the team a period of 4 seasons we only won the league once.
I told you the first 90mins Alaba played was vs Fiorentina in the CL second round is that also a no pressure game? Or the Coman that started vs Arsenal is that also a no pressure game? or Muller that started ALL our CL games in 2010 bar the one he missed due to suspension and we played the finals. Are those also no pressure games?
LvG wrought destabilisation by upsetting the big boys but 5yrs later we dont need to buy a Left back we have Alaba, We dont need to but a striker like Muller
Both in todays market would cost almost 200M Euros and we got them for free from our academy and are guaranteed to still be at the top for the next 5yrs Your answer has been given already. Nihilist: the big boys can afford to sacrifice a few seasons to blood some youngsters. We can't. Besides, your examples up there actually validate my point. Maybe that's why you guys have only 1 UCL title in the last 10 years- Same as Porto. |

nateevs: All this una theories wey dey fly left right and centre is only propped up by the fortunate situation we have found ourselves - having an immensely benevolent Billionaire. I doubt if the same tune will be sung if our owner was Randy Lerner.
It is also a subjective point that we are trying to be Barcelona 'only' in terms of trophies won. I do not remember what moment in time the official declaration was made. If anything, I believe we are trying to be like the elite in terms of trophies won and very importantly, the enviable STATUS of producing players from the academy. Otherwise, I would require an alternative explanation on why Roman will spend hundreds of millions on the academy to build arguably the best facilities in the land. Sir Nateevs, There is quite simply no point trying to develop academy players at time when we are chasing success. Let's actually take a closer look at all the elite teams you mentioned Madrid - The less said about these ones, the better. These ones simply do not do youth. And they are the most successful European side. Barca - 2nd biggest football institution in the world with a world famous academy. How many youth players have they actually produced recently? I posted an article on the shift in mentality at Barcelona a few months back. Neymar is by all definitions still a youth. That they were willing to risk reportedly over a hundred million pounds, accusations of financial impropriety and transfer embargoes to land a player in Munir's age bracket tells you all there is to know. How many academy players can even get a look in their team now? Bayern- Government subsidised football and a guaranteed perpetual title win ensures that these guys are free to experiment...and they do. Yes Alaba, Lahm and co are there...but can Dayo please talk about the destabilisation wrought by LVG while bringing these guys through? No story baba. File |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 8:06pm On Nov 06, 2015 |
nateevs: The idea that it cannot be at a high pressure environment will always remain subjective. Chelsea cannot be more of a high-pressure environment than Barcelona, United, Madrid and Bayern. Yet these clubs from time to time commit to giving a few kids decent minutes in competitive games. In the end, it always depends on the mentality of the current manager.
No one's asking number two and number 3 strikers to be Isaiah Brown and Dom Solanke. That would be pushing it. But as it's turned out this season, no one can tell me we would have fared worse if Patrick Bamford was chosen as no 3 striker instead of Falcao. That is one scenario where the "ready-made" ideology falls flat on its face. Some dudes who are feeling brave like me would have chosen RLC every single time this season in place of Mikel.
Many people will rave about this player and that player. 90% of them will not turn out use-able. FACT! But there are times where you can clearly see that some just have it and the right thing to do is to field them. End of! Where you missed it is comparing to Chelsea to Barca, Manyoo, Bayern etc. In terms of trophies won, those guys are the elite of the Europe. They can afford to sacrifice a few seasons as the cost blooding in new youngsters. We don't have that luxury. You must not forget that these guys are the benchmark. They are who we want to be. We are the ones chasing the sheer amount of success they have achieved. What you're suggesting is the equivalent of a O-Level holder taking a break in his education because he saw a PhD holder doing so. We cannot afford to do that. Ignoring our poor position on the log sef, we are competing with City, Arsenal, PSG, and co to be seen as the leaders of the new school. Arsenal that was the most pro-academy team in the EPL has only 1 genuine academy in their first team. No stories at this level my G. If Arsene Wenger can forsake his philosophy, then the youth theory is dead. RIP P.s Bamford is not even 3rd choice striker at Palace. They sold Glenn Murray and Bamford is still rooted to the bench. Pardew prefers a 9 goal a season beanpole up front. Bamford can play on either flank too...but he's behind a championship level winger on the bench too. I don't want to say I told you guys so but...sorry Bimmfo_rd |

The question is where is the 'somewhere' though? It can't be at a high pressure environment like the bridge. Let them show themselves on loan first. I remember when Bimffo used to rave about PvA. The lad is now an integral member of one of the worst defences to be seen over the last 4-5 years. Admittedly it's not all his fault, but the point stands. MadCow1: You may wish to go check out the meaning of molestation and the legal boundaries within which molestation applies..
The fact that she accepted money does not change that fact.
Otherwise, you can sleep with a 16 year old girl and pay her and its okay. Geddit!
Thanks. My friend shut up if you have nothing reasonable to say. 1. The court case is a divorce proceeding. That already tells you that the issue is considered a civil matter and not a criminal case. 2. The girl wilfully admitted to recieving payment on numerous occasions. Molestation involves unwanted sexual intercourse. Keyword unwanted. With the girl being offered and receiving payment on at least 3 occasions of sexual interaction, it's very clear that she is a willing participant. Only a fool would argue molestation here. Indeed, neither judge nor plaintiff accussed the man of molestation 3. She was 19 when the affair was discovered. Nothing in the article suggests it started at an earlier date. It's better to close your mouth instead of rambling on about nothing |

MadCow1: Sexually molesting/assaulting his daughter.. Did you read the article? Which of the principal actors in the article ever claimed that the girl was molested or assaulted? Or did you miss the part where the daughter freely admitted to collecting payment for services rendered? |
Family › Re: My Husband Fondles Our 19-year-old Daughter’s Breasts – Woman Tells Court by Nihilist: 11:33am On Nov 05, 2015 |
MadCow1: Not always true. The grounds for which a woman can get a divorce under the Nigerian Law don't always require infidelity or incest to achieve. Irreconcilable difference can also get her a divorce.
Ask yourself this.. Why do women find it hard to report a rape to the Nigerian Police? Why do women find it hard to report an assault to the Police? Why would a woman sit quietly in an abusive marriage rather than run for her dear life? Why is it that Divorced Men are more acceptable in society than Divorced Women?
The Answer is simple, we live in a male dominated society that is grossly unfair to women. A woman walks into a Police station to report a rape case, it becomes her words against his. Same for assault where no physical bruises are present. etc.
So yes, she may have seen it and did not immediately rush off to the police. Same way many women get bruised and battered and raped and still don't report to the police.
Same reason as the one stated above.
[i]Also add; Shame, Fear of stigmatization and ultimately..... ITS HER FATHER.
[i]Please be careful how you pass judgement because you hve just shown some of the traits I mentioned above.
What you should ask yourself is this: Is there are possibility that this woman is telling the truth? IF YES!!! Then its the duty of the Law enforcement and Judiciary to bring him to justice.
Have you not seen stories here on Nairaland of fathers molesting there daughters, impregnating them and giving birth to more than one kid on Nairaland?
So what makes this case so unbelievable?
With the number of spousal abuse in our local neighbourhood, its a shock that the courts are not swamped with Divorce and abuse cases.
Please don't fall my hand with this type of posts. You appear like a woman hater. Yes some vindictive women may go to any length to pull down a man, but not ALL!!! There are cases of child abuse and molestion going on in Nigeria daily. For that reason alone, you should never be quick to brush aside any case.
My Post said: IF he is found guilty, EXECUTE HIM! IF being the operative word.
