AutosRe: Buying from COTONOU made easy by niyooo(m): 12:55pm On Dec 13, 2011
Hello sir, frankly but sadly we wont be able to get any Toyota or Honda not older than 15years and with payment of duties with her budget of N550k.
Clearing cost would take away about N200k of the N550k,leaving us with N350k to work with.
Looking forward to working for you.
Sorry, You misunderstood me. What I asked for was a quote for a toyota corolla or honda civic so I could give her an idea of what more she has to save to get something fairly ok

AutosRe: Buying from COTONOU made easy by niyooo(m): 9:48am On Dec 08, 2011
Good evening sir and thanks for appreciating what we love doing.
The limit has since been extended to 15years.
It would be almost impossible to get an Honda or Toyota with the budget but other equally strong brands like Vw,Audi,Nissan and Mazda would serve her well too.
Do feel free to call 08036363467 or email duduconsultt@yahoo.com for more procurement information,.

Thanks. I did not know the 15 year limit has been effected. I would love for her to have a toyota or honda brand because these two are more reliable and would be easier for her to maintain IMHO. She's not looking at something bogus. Can you please give me a rough estimate of the prices of maybe a corolla or civic inclusive of the clearing and dutyfees, so I'll let her know how much more she needs to raise. You can quote the year of production so I'll be able to show her the picture to get her opinion. It's her money and her car, so I want her to see it first. thanks.

@ femmy2010, You seem to be very honest and genuine from what I've seen of your postings on this forum. Please my younger sister wants to get a car, she doesn't have much though. What can she get for like 550k from Cotonou that will be within the 10 year limit set by the Federal Government and will also include paying the appropriate duties so she doesn't run into Customs wahala. Expecting to hear from you. Thanks
P.S. She wants something that's automatic and 4 doors. And I'll prefer something in the Honda/Toyota range.

Hi folks,

Don't know where else to post this but I just want to find out from those that know. Does it make sense getting electronics from abroad? Will Nigeria customs not disturb the person at the airports? By electronics, I mean personal stuff for myself and not for sale. Stuff like TV, Home theater etc. Your thoughts and advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

BEST SOLUTION: LET THE MAN EMPLOY THE SERVICES OF A MALE HOUSEHELP WHO IS NEITHER TOO YOUNG(to be able to take care of the kids) NOR TOO OLD. WHO IS SKILLED IN CULINARY SERVICES. That way, he avoids living with temptation under the same roof. Honestly, what God will judge among married couples is plenty. Some women are unbelievable.
Are you serious? MALE HOUSEHELP? The poster didn't say the gender of the remaining two kids but if any of them is female, then you want them to leave their small female daughter with a male househelp? Very funny.

Anyway, my two cents, The lady took too many things for granted, you can't just change your mind and decide to stay back to work. Unless you are married to J. Christ or something. Most men will cheat given this circumstance. And on the flip side, most men will cheat when not given this type of opportunity. If the woman is wise she better get her a.r.s.e back to PH quickly, the maid may not agree to another D & C.

Car TalkNew Vehicle License Number Needed. by niyooo(op): 12:27pm On Nov 26, 2011
Guys,

Please i want to know how I can get the new plate number. I reside in Lagos and I've seen it on a couple of cars. I figure that despite the House of Rep saying the exercise should be put on hold, since some cars have it already, it's only a matter of time before the issue is resolved. It doesn't make any sense getting the old one at this stage. I think.

So if you can help or know where I can get it, please drop the info here.

Thanks.

Someone who is knowledgeable will not give in when he's sure of what he's saying. That may be why the Ekiti's are said to be stubborn and argumentative. Though they may be wrong atimes but they'll always have some facts to put holes in the other persons' arguments. And dem fit fight for wetin dem believe be dem right die. That's why they are also known as the petition writing state, 'cos when they believe they are right, they don't mind putting the facts down in writing to the appropriate quarters.

It's their choice to make but if your conscience doesn't go with it, then don't give him the money 'cos if the outcome is bad, you'll always have it on your mind. Your friend should simply have asked you to lend him the money without telling you what he wants to use it for, that way you don't get to having pangs of guilt. the fact he has a child is also not the end of his life, In the African setting and Nigerian setting, I think one of both set of parents might agree to help with raising the child. My only fear is that with time, the lust they have for each other may fade and the child may be worse off for it.

At least now we know the caliber of people we elect into the National Assembly. How many bills has he passed to better the lives of Nigerians or Nigerian women? Rather than bring up bills on how the country will get better, he wants to pass bills that will stop the police from chasing the love peddlers he's busy chasing in Abuja. Useless Old man. Very soon he'll ask that lesbianism and g.ays be legalized to stop discrimination against them. I wonder what the i.diot will say when the daughter comes home and tells him she wants to be a LovePeddler.

As for the secrecy thing, I don't know what is secret in an employment process that was advertised, well discussed online including on NL here, and even handled by an external consulting firm, Philips Consulting I think.
Jarus, stop clinging to straws. I say make you post where CBN advertise, you never do am. Yet you want people to believe you know what you are saying? Mtsceeeew.

See the way you post the above as if say you dey tok fact. Yet now you can't produce a single shred of evidence. A wise man knows when to keep quiet. If you can't substantiate your claims then keep quiet. angry
PoliticsRe: Sanusi For President In 2015? by niyooo(m): 8:33am On Sep 22, 2011
Who is arguing on 'dem say dem say'?

I dont argue on sentiments. I speak with right people in right places. From UBA to FBN, to CBN, and other insiders in the industry. Outside that, I get facts facts directly from top investigative journalists and editors, things you wont even read in papers. So count me out of someone arguing on conjectures.

I maintain the allegation of recruitment nepotism is a lie, big fat lie.

Anyway, as a Nigerian, I know when people lose out in employment exercise, they always attribute their misfortune to somebody. So I'm not surprised here.
Mr "I speak with the right people in the right places", you are yarning dust abeg. Earlier you claimed the
CBn advert was advertised and even discussed on Nairaland. I challenge you to quote the newspapers where it was advertised and the thread where it was discussed on Nairaland. The only discussion on Nairaland was the one done by the people that passed the back door. Check other organisation's discussion on Nairaland, you'll see the thread will begin with the advert by the organisation and not people asking about the pay and all that.

Jarus stop yarning dust abeg. And there I was thinking you had something up there. It's sad and annoying really.  angry

You dey talk to people in right places. I dey tell you based on what I KNOW. Abegi make i hear word.

Do i sound like I'm looking for employment to have lost out? mtscheeew.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi For President In 2015? by niyooo(m): 10:43pm On Sep 21, 2011
I stand by all my arguments. Sanusi did not and cannot say recruitment/promotion should be tribe-based. To say 70% of those CBN recruited is from Kano is most laughable, just as the lie made up against him that he had re-introduced arabic lettering on Naira notes. They are all lies fabricated by mischief-makers.

Oba Otudeko and not Muttallab has the highest share in FBN and he is the behind-the-scene man in FBN. He is a Yoruba man.
I wonder why I'm back here,  Don't really know but I'll reply you though, maybe I've just got some spare time on my hands this night. Yes Sanusi did say promotion will be based on Federal character principle, of course you wont see any documentation to this effect. Yes majority of the recruitment done so far in Sanusi's tenure is of Northerners. Of those northerners, 70% are from Kano making even  other northern state employees to grumble also.

I never said anything about re-introduction of arabic letters, neither did I say Mutallab was the largest shareholder in FBN. Get off your a.r.s.e and do your research rather than arguing based on you think. Go and check the way Sanusi rose in FBN hierarchy. Ask questions from people in the CBN and FBN and stop arguing based on emotions or what you think. Argue with facts as the last poster advised you. I believe you are not that mentally lazy to do a little research.

I know what I'm talking about. My own no be say dem say dem say.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi For President In 2015? by niyooo(m): 9:19pm On Sep 21, 2011
@ Jarus, this is going to be my last post on this. Because you've blocked your mind and have a fanatical view about your Sanusi. You said you are that close to him, so do you expect him to tell you that yes, he recruited employees based on tribe? I've told you I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. All that s.hit about northeners being marginalized is just that  BULLS.H.I.T. Northerners were never marginalized during recruitment process in the CBN.  Get your facts straight please. The information cannot be gotten from the CBN website. You have to ask a neutral insider and not one that is close to Sanusi. If northerners were marginalized, how come that more than 70% of those recruited were from Kano? so much so that other northern states were even complaining? When Federal Character people made noise, he employed their candidates to shut them up, he employed Senators children to shut them up. Jarus I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I'm no longer posting anything on this story cos it doesn't even matter, the guy can never preside over Nigeria, he's just waiting to be the Emir of Kano anyway.
The man did not get to be MD of first bank based on merit, it was the Elder Muttalab that manipulated him to get there by giving him rapid promotion in order to get someone to represent the "northern" interest in First bank.
Also on the Islamic banking thing, as the Chief Regulator (which makes him the umpire in this case), should he be the one championing the Islamic banking thing? Should it not be the people that want to float the bank that should champion it? Sanusi is the one that caused the whole brouhaha over the thing by being at the fore-front of championing it, but of course he has to because that is what his benefactor Mutallab wants. In case you didn't know, he's on the Board of the Jaiz bank, I think he's even the chairman (MutallabI mean).

You are also trying to defend a Sanusi that says promotion in the CBN will be on quota system? Is that how to encourage merit? If you recruit on quota system, does that mean merit should also be discountenanced on the job in rewarding/motivating empoyees?

Also, when you say there was a CBN advert, I begin to wonder, did you see the advert? For graduate officers? Or did you hear from someone that it was advertised? Because I KNOW THERE WAS NO SUCH ADVERT ASKING QUALIFIED GRADUATES TO APPLY but the CBN has recruited close to a thousand if not more, graduate officers in just two years in the mallams tenure.

C'mon Jarus, you are too intelligent not to know there are always two sides to every story, so why would you not want to even consider that you know nothing about the other side to this story?

PoliticsRe: Sanusi For President In 2015? by niyooo(m): 9:44pm On Sep 20, 2011
Can the person that claims SLS's CBN's recruitment impartially favours Northerners give a proof to that? The SLS I know will not recruit anyone based on ethnicity or religion. Ask people that worked around him from FBN to CBN.
Oh like you want me to bring the CBN employment list and show you the names or what? C'mon Jarus, though I don't post much I read a lot of stuff that goes on on this forum and I know you are quite intelligent. I'm not fetching my stuff from the air. I KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING. It's for you to actually know someone other than what you read on the pages of the paper. Get someone that knows what's going on within CBN or that works there and they'll get the wool off your eyes. And don't ask people that work with him, what do you expect them to say? Ask a neutral person that works in the CBN. And you need to go ask the FBN staff how happy they were when he left them. Jarus, please get your facts and stop arguing on sentiments, emotions or what you think. As they say not all that glitters is gold and as Wycleff said some peeps wear Cubic Zirconian and claim it's diamond.

When you say the "SLS you know", how well do you know him? based on what?  As bad as Hitler was, there were a lot of Germans who believed he was "God". So my dear friend, take a step back and really get to know him.

About getting Moghalu to be DG. there's nothing about persuading. There are not that many people that will say no to being invited to come and chop. As I said in my last post, unlike the corporate governance being advertised to the banks, the most powerful person on the Board of the CBN is SLS so what he says goes and who he wants goes. What was there to persuade Yaradull about?
PoliticsRe: Sanusi For President In 2015? by niyooo(m): 9:27pm On Sep 19, 2011
Are you guys rooting for him even enlightened at all? For example you say XYZ banks are bad because they are exposed to the market to the tune of say 50 million. You say now i've pumped in say 80 million of taxpayers money to make the banks stable and they are ok. next thing you solely appoint some people to manage those banks
(based on what criteria) after some time and billions down the drain, you sack them and say you've nationalized the banks. Is that not an indictment on the people you appointed and indirectly on your capability? And dont even give me the s.t.upid excuse that the banks could not be rescued because as the CBN governor you should have all the facts before appointing them to the banks, you should know if the banks can be rescued or not and save taxpayers money by nationalizing them immediately instead of doling out billions of tax payers money to your cronies for almost two years after which you now compensate them heavily with retirement benefits, Abeg i dey go sleep jare. Make una no make me vex o.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi For President In 2015? by niyooo(m): 9:17pm On Sep 19, 2011
Sanusi as CBN governor is a mistake that Nigeria will take years to recover from. Sanusi as President will be the end of Nigeria as we know it. Jarus and Co that are defending him should get people that really know the guy and stop quoting based on a few things you read in the papers or where ever. Sanusi is a bigot that went on an employment spree of people from his state (Kano) on appointment as the CBN governor ignoring all forms of Federal character even to the extent that fellow northerners not from Kano state were also complaining. And for those of you that say his Deputy Governors defend him in public. Are you silly or what? Do you expect them to criticize him in public? In Nigeria? Are you naturally dumb or is it an acquired dumbness? So you expect them to pour sand sand in the place their gari comes from? And contrary to the Corporate governance being preached to the banks about the Chairman and MD not being the same person, the governor of CBN is the most powerful person on the board and so gets what he wants. How many times have you seen the Chairman/Governor of the Federal Reserve of USA or FSA in the UK go on air to destroy banks they are supposed to manage and send them down the drain? Even when banks commit crimes as almost all banks do world wide, they find a way to manage it while punishing those guilty of such crimes but this one just goes about it like a bull in a china shop. Abeg make una no mention Sanusi and President in the same vein. The guy don employ all them Senator and Emir pikin finish for CBN without following due process. When was the last time you saw an advert in the papers from CBN advertising vacancies? And yet the man dey employ him brothers go as if tomorrow no dey through back door. Jarus, you never see mentor o. Make u find better mentor go forward. So fvcking annoyed right now. AS a CBN governor, you are supposed to manage the economy to develop and not go down the drain as the ignorant mallam is doing.
