Thank you very much for this. I really appreciate it.

You will need a consent letter from his dad along with the child's birth certificate showing his dad's name.
You may also need your sister death certificate to back up your story.

Also make sure you travel with those documents because you will need to explain to different authorities why you are traveling with a child who isn't yours.
Child abduction is something that is been tackled very seriously

Hello house, please I want to travel to the US with my 7 mo baby nephew, I've been raising him since his mom passed away 3 weeks after his birth. I want to know if the difference in our surnames will raise a red flag with the VO. Legal adoption is not an option as his dad is against it. What do y'all suggest I do?

Please check your eligibility here. If you are eligible then check your CRS here.

I totally agree with the bolded. We PAID for this IELTS thingy and as such have the right to ask questions about it no matter how trivial. It is their responsibility to recruit and train customer service personnel to respond to such questions

ednut1:
this is so wrong. We as customers have a right to call them as we please. I missed my ielts exam in november as i had to leave lagos on an emergency. I called for 4 days to no avail. Blatant rubbish

So you have an advantage. Have not considered Montreal...right now I just want to boost my CRS
Fuzzyman:

No i was not, learnt french from childhood on and off , including two months at alliance francais Yaba. I made the most progress when i took it as a volunteer course at uni for 18 months. Duolingo has helped me get back to that level which is post beginner/ lower intermediate. The short videos and going on online forums will really help. Thanks for wishing me luck.

Do you want to live in montreal? I'm seriously considering it
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by njbybrthnly: 5:56pm On Mar 30, 2018
Will seriously consider the bolded...I've also heard that french...especially the TEF is difficult. I'll just give it my best and see what comes of it. It's not really new to me though...I almost wrote french in my WAEC but opted out at the last minute (To the chagrin of my teacher then...I can just see him laughing at me now)

Thanks a lot for your advice
Tojued:

Then my next best advice is take a vacation and go for intensive immersion classes at French village badagry or even for a course in Cotonou.

Otherwise private tutor things... Maybe a lecturer at UNIBEN or a very good final year student. They should teach you using tef curriculum.

sincerely though, can you imagine taking ielts based on if you start to learn English now? And even the French say English is easier than their language... But I won't be a naysayer, nothing in life is actually impossible.

Thank you...Will try this. Were you a french "novice" when you decided to learn the language and how difficult would you rate it? Best of luck to you too

Fuzzyman:

Use duolingo on your PC, it has lessons on grammar, proper writing tests unlike the app on the phone.
There's also duolingo stories, also on PC. It is not basic at all. Its legit.
Watch french short films on youtube. I want to write an exam in December myself. Best of luck

Thanks for this...but to the best of my knowledge they don't have a branch in my location...I'm in Benin City

Tojued:

Alliance Français is your best bet and they don't have online courses. Not sure you can learn French up to B2 (tef level) without physical contact.

sunvick:

Hello house, hope everyone is having a good day. I've decided to try and learn french to pass the time as I'm waiting for CRS scores to drop...and possibly even take the TEF. Does anyone know of any resources I can use (preferably online)?

Not necessarily cash...the same documents you submitted in your e-APR but if using statements, they have to be updated

Please start the process as soon as possible especially if you have a high CRS. The POF does not have to be in your account for 6 months, you can get it a day before you submit your e-APR, just get your uncle to do you a gift deed.

Please note that your POF has to be with you till you land at least as some people have been asked to show this at the POE

Senorita123:
Good evening guys. I really appreciate the good work u do. This thread has been my second home. I should av started this express entry hustle since last year but pof is a big issue. The reason is that Pof is expected to have been in my account six months before submission of documents. However, I have a very strong encouragement to start the process this month come what may. The problem now is that my uncle may not be willing to leave the POF in my account till I get ITA. That's like 90 days (maximum) which is not up to six months stated.... What do I do? This year will not pass me by.

To all my fellow newbies and not-so-newbies, we really need to start reading and researching this whole express entry process. This is a very expensive process, not just financially but also emotionally. We are talking about relocating our families to a new country where everything is different.
It's very discouraging and frustrating to see the same questions asked over and over again. Let's learn to use the search bar at the top of the page if we can't read from the first page of the thread. We need to get serious about this.

No...you don't need to pay WES for verification. Verification is simply WES asking your school to verify the authenticity of the documents received. IMO we should not even pay for this but we dey naija na so anything goes.

Linzo:

OK thanks, I have another question pls, do I need to pay WES any money for verification? Apart from the payments in my school here in Nigeria?
