Let the petitioner know something isn't hers just because she likes to play with it . Also teach the petitioner the importance of being kind enough to share his stuff with his sibling. He should learn kindness and compassion as early as his present age. The case before you is a good opportunity to teach your kids vital and valuable life lessons that will help them in future. |

Education › Re: Stop Sending Your Children For Holiday Lessons by NJV: 1:05pm On Aug 21, 2023 |
Oduok: Sending kids to holiday lessons makes no sense.
Most of you will make your kids go to school till they become useless. You took them to school at age 3 and abandon them there. During long vacation you still send them to school. To do what?
Can't you spend time to bond with your kids? What exactly are they going to achieve in school during vacation? Vacation lesson only favour school owners, not you. Allow kids rest for God's sake.
If you should engage kids during long vacation then teach them skills. Enrol your kids in centres that they can learn practical computer usage, coding, programming, painting and decoration, catering, musical instruments. Let them learn martial art, how to shot guns, how to wrestle. Teach them something beyond pure academics.
If a school should organize long vacation class then it should gear towards extra curricula activities - debate, modelling, music concert, science fair, mini project. How would you call kids back to school during holiday to learn Math, English, Chemistry, Social studies, accounting, by same teachers that taught them during school period. What is the difference? If these teachers knew what to teach why didn't they do it during normal school session.
Education is beyond memorizing facts. Give your kids opportunity to develop and be better prepare for life. Pls increase the volume! Most parents patronize these holiday lessons just so they can have time for daily hustle. But they don't understand that it's counterproductive. |

Britishcoins: Final result... Thanks to all those who followed this project.. God will give you all ur own houses.. And equally to the Admin that made reach front page... Congratulations. Your house is beautiful. By the way I'm moving to my house tomorrow and I'm glad I followed this thread cos I learnt a few things from here. Particularly, you made me decide that it was ok to use the same type of roofing sheets you used when aluminum was not within reach for me. I'm glad I did that or else I would have still been waiting to buy aluminum! At least I'm no more a tenant and I can always use something better for future projects as God blesses me. |

Aurelius1: I remembered the very day ShopRite was looted. I stood from afar and watched how Hon Baro Minabowanre who contested for House of Representatives under APC led things to destroy ShopRite. I felt sorry for shoprite that day cos they were just a few months old in the city then. I never liked that place. The funny thing was that, despite all the violence i witnessed in warri during my short stay there, people used to tell me that the violence has even calmed down. That what i was witnessing was small compared to how hot the place used to be. |

Warri, filled with youths who are ready to fight at any given opportunity. That city was my home for just 2 and half years. Was working peacefully one day, when i was told that rioting boys had shattered my windshield. I had friends who used to run and abandon their cars on the road when the madness starts. i witnessed these boys fight and loot shoprite that year. wow! was so glad when i finally relocated from there. Warri, not a place to raise a family! |
