justbusy: You read through the whole brouhaha and how she came to such an illogical conclusion! What she failed to apprehend is that wickedness is not a Nigerian phenomenon, but a global thing. The Bible says that the heart of a man is wicked. It didn't say the heart of Nigerians are wicked. But why do Nigerians find it so hard to show empathy? And for those who do show it, why does it almost always never end well for them? |

I'm trying to decipher the characters in the clip:
Oga pupa- the brother in question?
Pregnant lady- the person in the thread title?
Guy with beard- the husband?
Place- Nigeria?
Language- General Yoruba mostly, with some indication of an Ondoish tone? Especially from the lady in the flower patterned dress.
The guy in plaid- friend? To who?
Aunty with heavy makeup @3:54 mins - "tan ba de do e bayi, bo sofun oko e won ma so wipe won ti do e, baye awon okunrin se ri niyen"
Do do do do full the place like say
I also heard that word which is not PC
Well, interesting script. |

Rosskiki: There were NOT ''plenty of Nigerian professionals'' under British rule. Who educated them? Where? Unless you're referring to professional tailors, hunters, barbers, and shoemakers.
There was not one full fledged university in Nigeria at independence. Compare that to nearly 200 today post-independence. In South Africa by contrast, the colonialists built at least 10 universities before the turn of the 19th century. Their oldest university, the University of Cape Town, was built in 1829. And we are wondering why Nigeria, which had its first university in 1962, is not as developed as South Africa. Truth is we are playing catch up in black Africa largely due to colonial exploitation of our lands in the last 150 years. But we are moving forward. The current African regional integration could be the game changer for the continent. There were plenty of Nigerian professionals under British rule, the high population is what makes you unaware of them. They were educated in Europe, specifically Britain. Some schooled in other west African countries. Not sure if we're on the same page. Perhaps your point is there weren't enough? Comparing Nigeria to South Africa in this context is not feasible, both countries have different histories. As per university education, Nigerians schooled overseas, as mentioned before. This was before and during the Commonwealth when visas were not required of members. |

The wicked also have the power to stop their own wickedness before God gets involved.
As Nigerians, we find it hard to break personal habits and behaviours that are detrimental. It doesnt mean we cant. |

Nigerians have been getting educated since the 16th century, where is this other impression coming from? Under British rule, there were plenty of Nigerian professionals, they might not have been a majority but then again, with the high population and limited resources, how would it have been possible? |

Always avoid Nigerians if you don’t want problems in your life, not all of them tho. They dont want that even though associating freely with them enables the bad behaviour. I just dont know why we dont like ourselves to such extents. |

Litmus: The Nigerian poor are wicked and Nigerians generally are wicked? Wow , see slander. Fact is, few peoples in the world are kinder than Nigerians are. However, as long as the Nigerian State does not take measures that hold individuals accountable for the things they state online, Nigerians will suffer as the world learns only falsehoods about them. These falsehoods endanger Nigerians that have means to travel abroad since negative reputation precedes them and makes foreigners guarded and defensive, which sometimes leads to regrettable overact ions. Conversely, it helps to impoverish poor Nigerian in Nigeria since it negatively affects potential investments in Nigeria.
I hear motions to moderate the flippant, bombastic and false information peddled online are in consideration at the Nigeria National Assembly. If so, I hope censuring and accountability laws are quickly passed. It cannot come quick enough. Accountability both for online and offline, we dont want a situation where some folks group themselves online after stalking others offline. Common with Nigerians. |

I doubt most people would hear anything good about themselves said behind their back. The astonishing thing is those who take any negative info they hear about others, and run with it.

I'd say both genders are emotional. Women in their own way, men in theirs.
