please after miskeen and I have tried to link his app he submitted in July but no success. I just noticed one thing now. He submitted IMM1294E(application for study permit made outside of Canada), IMM5707E(family information) and IMM5257(temporary resident visa form). That's the issue on ground. He said the vfs guy cross checked before he paid. He was DELAYED on his first app reason being purpose of visit only( he didn't link the fist app, he was tracking with vfs tracking number) and he submitted all the 3 forms in first application too.
He should send a mail to the embassy. Also, he can order his gmc note to know the state of his application. That can help him too.

How did you fill the financial section?
Put the amount for your 1st year school Tuition, for accommodation and upkeep, you put 10k or 11k if you are going to Quebec. Then put the total amount you have for your studies. For example : 7k for Tuition, 10k for Room and Board, and then 25k as Funds available for your stay.

Greetings Bosses, you guys are doing a terrific job here. I was a silent follower on this thread for long but I reached out to guys here when my first TRV application was refused back in July. My second application has just been approved. We Bless God!

Here's my timeline:

M.Eng (Electrical Engineering, MUN)

1st Application: May 5th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Refused: July 7th, 2017 (Insufficient Funds for tuition fees, Purpose of Visit, & Travel History)
Ordered GCMS Notes immediately and it arrived on August 9th, 2017. VO said i was being sponsored by a third party (my cousin), limited evidence of relationship on file, limited travel history and weak evidence of personal financial establishment.

Meanwhile, it was a fully funded admission, i had to stress that in my second application while also tackling the above reasons.

Second Application: August 28th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Medical passed like three weeks later (same upfront medical i used for the first application)
Application updated November 14th, 2017. Approved

Cheers Bosses.
Congrats Nzo1. Go and represent us well.

Wow! Things are changing by the day.
It was also on this thread, part 10 or so, that I saw an infant's refusal. VO wrote PA approved as she seems a genuine student and primary purpose of going to Canada is for study and not babysitting. The baby's application was denied.

I think she was not elaborate enough as to how her children will be taken care of in her absence and concentrated more on why she wasn't going with them. My 2cents though
That's the thing. Mothers going should research daycare Centres and schools near the University. Write to them to demand a space for your child/children. I did all that and got 2 daycare centres willing to accept us. In my case, my children have been attending school since they were 3 months. They are used to classroom setting . I cited that too. So it would not pose any challenge.

There's no way on Earth, I would concentrate on my studies if my children are in Nigeria while I'm in Canada. Depression will set in walahi!

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Nogen:
Also, I would like to add that we take our time to prepare our application. Don't rush. I joined this forum last year. I read the Part 1, jotted down some important notes. Been following the discussions here while I still took note of key things.
Things you must do!
1. Don't limit yourself. Apply in more than one school.

I applied in 3 schools : University of Manitoba, University of Sherbrooke and Laval University. I wasn't given admission in Manitoba. In University of Sherbrooke, I applied for 4 programmes. I got admission for 3 out of the 4. For Laval University, I declined their admission .

2. Make sure you have the funds or get a scholarship (Funding from the school)
If you have funding, good. If it is not so much, ensure you have some personal funds to back up your application. If you don't have funding from the school, please take out time to save up enough money..even if you get co-sponsor, it will help your application.

3. Ask questions on gray areas.

Don't be shy to ask relevant questions. Don't be too shy to ask those gurus here for help. I reached out to 3 people here : Austinpee (He never replied my messages and I understood he is a busy person), Maziude (He responded immediately and has guided me thus far), Jynuwa (he also responded immediately and guided me on my SOP. He actually revamped it. He also guided me where my brother Maziude had no idea about the process, Jynuwa readily assisted.) I did a lot of back and forth with Maziude and Jynuwa to ensure I didn't make any mistake on my application before submitting.

4. Read current and past posts on this forum and CIC website

Please take out time to read , read and read. When you read, you won't even ask a lot of questions and you would get it right in your first application . My Canadian study permit was my first. Never applied before. But it took me more than a year to apply. Don't be in a hurry please.
5. Be honest in your application.
Be truthful. Some advised me here not to present my children to the Embassy since they don't need a visa to enter Canada. I vehemently opposed that. How can I use my 2 years olds as home ties only to appear at the Point of Entry with them. I could be turned back to Naija. That's deceit! Also, avoid presenting fake documents. They will find out. If you have been denied visas in the past. Say the truth, it won't stop them from giving you a TRV if you deserve one.

6. Have faith in God. Trust God to do His part.

If it is His will, you would go to Canada to study, He will help you provide all that you need to make your application a success. I took a leap of faith a lot . I was in the US in October, I shopped for our winter jackets for myself and the children. I said we need a pair for the flight in December to Canada. I resigned my job . Would stopped working in December. Told them, I would be leaving in December for my PhD. When Jynuwa advised me to apply for a study permit for US as a 2nd option. I was very emphatic with my NO! I told him point blank that I am going to Quebec, Canada for studies not the US. Started preparing my home for the journey long before I even applied. Have faith your application will be successful .

Anyone in any field can get a TRV. All depends on the picture of the vision you paint to the VO. Nogen painted a wonderful picture of a differential theory of learning, a novel idea in educating children taking into account their learning ability and styles. She felt in Nigeria the teaching mode is all about promoting the bright ones and repeating the dull ones. She postulated that the solution had to take into consideration their learning styles, that both the very bright ones and dull ones have the same problem. They both occupy a position in the outlier and are usually misfits due to pressure society puts on them. The differential theory takes this into consideration and tailors the education of a child from the perspective of their ability and styles of learning and encouraging them based on these peculiarities. She felt the solution is not simply telling teachers to teach more and passing the bright ones and repeating the dull ones as is the common solution in Nigeria. Nogen's endeavour to seek to do PHD in Nigerian universities in this area met head storm because this theory is alien to the Nigerian system. But Canada is doing cutting edge research in the area. She wants to study, get her doctorate and come back to Nigeria and teach the theory and train many educators to do the same. The affordability and safety for her family, made Canada among many countries she looked into, an easy choice. You see, when a VO begins to read something like this, it's sweet music to their ears. They feel the compulsion and want to join in the rhythm of the dance. They approve you with immediate alacrity because you are highly favored of God in the first place.
You are right! As a graduate student, you must be part of solution providers. Look at the needs in the society and search for a solution to those needs using your area of study. Would you get that in Nigeria? If no, then look for countries that can help you specialize in your area. My area is a new one in Nigeria and very few international private schools practise that and those in public school do not even know it exists. There are lots of new pedagogical methodologies out there in the developed countries that have been tested and proven effective and efficient for teaching and learning. Research them and see how you can introduce them to our Educational system.

Without quality education, Nigeria as a nation has a long way to go, until we began to teach and learn right,we would struggle economically , politically, socially, etc. We must get it right in our educational system. So, those in Education can get their TRV.

I want to say a special thank you to Maziude. He was always there to answer my questions and concerns from the beginning of my application. I took his advise of going for a PhD instead of a pgd. I am glad it paid off in the end.

Thanks to Jerry for reviewing my SOP. I appreciate.

@maziude my brother, your Ijebu garri and Bendel garri are coming. Your sister will supply you more than enough Bro. See you soon in Cannyland.

Hello Gurus,

Good Evening,My 1 year tuition is 15,445CAD for a 2year PGD intended study i was delayed 30th of last month for with all financial boxes ticked so i applied immediately for my GCMS note. After seeing the notes i think my case is a clear example of V.Os not checking all documents submitted please i really need your input and advise because i want reapply immediately. Apart from paying the tuition fee balance for 1year what other things do you think i can add to tackle this denial. Please see attached GCMS note stating Lump sum from an unknown source and below the history of the financial statement submitted.

Sponsor Mum
GT Bank - 7.8 million (Mum received rent of 4.6 million in July for a whole building she letted out to a school she also paid 7,500 CAD half of 1 year tuition in August
UBA- 2.3 million (her salary account with monthly income of 285,000)

My Bank Statement
GT Bank- 2.5 million (Mum transferred 1.5 million to me and she stated it in the letter addressed to V.O)

Please note that i included rent receipt of the 4.6 million and all documents of the building but obviously the V.O did not check the document and still denied me on lump sum from an unknown source. The v.O also stated i included a third party sponsor which is false. There two statement from my mum and my GTBank LOA
I think you can also ask for a reopening of your application file. It seems they don't really check the documents anymore. Let the Gurus come and assist in this one.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Nogen: 7:28pm On Nov 02, 2017
@Ilovecanada, many people who applied for masters and PhD programmes did that because they were not originally planning to work in Canada but to acquire knowledge which would be helpful in their home country. Deciding to stay back after one's studies is another thing altogether. That is secondary .
