Josh121:Honestly, I don't know but if you look up courses in Health Sciences, you can find out if she can study that! |
OriEyeLe:He should send a mail to the embassy. Also, he can order his gmc note to know the state of his application. That can help him too. |
mideyola:Go Educators!!!! Congratulations dear!!! So excited for you. I can imagine the feelings. Please don't scream too much like I did and ended up losing my voice. Lol . Go and represent us well! |
PLEASE MY PM DOES NOT WORK. DON'T BOTHER SENDING ME A MESSAGE. If you have questions, please ask them here. You will get your answers and others would learn from it as well. |
matic12:Put the amount for your 1st year school Tuition, for accommodation and upkeep, you put 10k or 11k if you are going to Quebec. Then put the total amount you have for your studies. For example : 7k for Tuition, 10k for Room and Board, and then 25k as Funds available for your stay. |
Josh121:Of course yes! Schools in Canada don't need your NYSC certificate. |
Nzo1:Congrats Nzo1. Go and represent us well. |
awuf:Lol!!! I saw all the curses, I simply jumped the post and passed! Nobody wants to collect curses na. She's not ready yet to get responses. Na wa! |
sleekysoft:My PM doesn't work o. Let me PM you rather. |
vcole:Thanks Vcole. No problem. |
Kmgb:Target between the 1st and 2nd batch of numbers. |
awuf:That's the thing. Mothers going should research daycare Centres and schools near the University. Write to them to demand a space for your child/children. I did all that and got 2 daycare centres willing to accept us. In my case, my children have been attending school since they were 3 months. They are used to classroom setting . I cited that too. So it would not pose any challenge. There's no way on Earth, I would concentrate on my studies if my children are in Nigeria while I'm in Canada. Depression will set in walahi! |
JoseJonn:They didn't work on my application. I did it myself but gave them to review my SOP and asked some questions where I needed help. Please get to work and then ask questions where necessary. Jerry can review your SOP. He is not in school now. Maziude is very busy now but tries to assist once in awhile. |
40manlappy:Wow! You have your PPR already na. By the grace of God, we shall see in Cannyland. |
Kmgb:Will get funding. Paying just my first year school fees. On any case, this is what I love to do. For TEF, make sure you get at least a B2. |
Congrats CAstruggle and Osemigho. |
I got my TRV yesterday for my PhD programme in Quebec. Not ready for PPR application yet. Leaving this Dec. See you in Cannyland. 40manlappy, I'm sure you are enjoying Cannyland ... well done guys and may all our wishes be fulfilled . Amen |
CAstruggle:Congrats to you and to all of you who got your PPR! |
Also, I would like to add that we take our time to prepare our application. Don't rush. I joined this forum last year. I read the Part 1, jotted down some important notes. Been following the discussions here while I still took note of key things. Things you must do! 1. Don't limit yourself. Apply in more than one school. I applied in 3 schools : University of Manitoba, University of Sherbrooke and Laval University. I wasn't given admission in Manitoba. In University of Sherbrooke, I applied for 4 programmes. I got admission for 3 out of the 4. For Laval University, I declined their admission . 2. Make sure you have the funds or get a scholarship (Funding from the school) If you have funding, good. If it is not so much, ensure you have some personal funds to back up your application. If you don't have funding from the school, please take out time to save up enough money..even if you get co-sponsor, it will help your application. 3. Ask questions on gray areas. Don't be shy to ask relevant questions. Don't be too shy to ask those gurus here for help. I reached out to 3 people here : Austinpee (He never replied my messages and I understood he is a busy person), Maziude (He responded immediately and has guided me thus far), Jynuwa (he also responded immediately and guided me on my SOP. He actually revamped it. He also guided me where my brother Maziude had no idea about the process, Jynuwa readily assisted.) I did a lot of back and forth with Maziude and Jynuwa to ensure I didn't make any mistake on my application before submitting. 4. Read current and past posts on this forum and CIC website Please take out time to read , read and read. When you read, you won't even ask a lot of questions and you would get it right in your first application . My Canadian study permit was my first. Never applied before. But it took me more than a year to apply. Don't be in a hurry please. 5. Be honest in your application. Be truthful. Some advised me here not to present my children to the Embassy since they don't need a visa to enter Canada. I vehemently opposed that. How can I use my 2 years olds as home ties only to appear at the Point of Entry with them. I could be turned back to Naija. That's deceit! Also, avoid presenting fake documents. They will find out. If you have been denied visas in the past. Say the truth, it won't stop them from giving you a TRV if you deserve one. 6. Have faith in God. Trust God to do His part. If it is His will, you would go to Canada to study, He will help you provide all that you need to make your application a success. I took a leap of faith a lot . I was in the US in October, I shopped for our winter jackets for myself and the children. I said we need a pair for the flight in December to Canada. I resigned my job . Would stopped working in December. Told them, I would be leaving in December for my PhD. When Jynuwa advised me to apply for a study permit for US as a 2nd option. I was very emphatic with my NO! I told him point blank that I am going to Quebec, Canada for studies not the US. Started preparing my home for the journey long before I even applied. Have faith your application will be successful . |
jnyuwa02:You are right! As a graduate student, you must be part of solution providers. Look at the needs in the society and search for a solution to those needs using your area of study. Would you get that in Nigeria? If no, then look for countries that can help you specialize in your area. My area is a new one in Nigeria and very few international private schools practise that and those in public school do not even know it exists. There are lots of new pedagogical methodologies out there in the developed countries that have been tested and proven effective and efficient for teaching and learning. Research them and see how you can introduce them to our Educational system. Without quality education, Nigeria as a nation has a long way to go, until we began to teach and learn right,we would struggle economically , politically, socially, etc. We must get it right in our educational system. So, those in Education can get their TRV. |
JoseJonn:Greatest Akokite! Amen!!! Ensure you submit a tight application and trust God to seal it. |
jnyuwa02:Jerry is you na. You did an amazing job on my SOP. I do acknowledge and appreciate it. Thanks once again Bro. |

Was thinking it is about passing my medical. Lo and behold, it was APPROVED! I want to say a special thank you to Maziude. He was always there to answer my questions and concerns from the beginning of my application. I took his advise of going for a PhD instead of a pgd. I am glad it paid off in the end. Thanks to Jerry for reviewing my SOP. I appreciate. Now, to mothers who want to go with your little children, please do apply with them. Just ensure you have enough money to prove you can take care of them financially and otherwise. You will be fine. I pray to as many that desire to go study and represent Nigeria well , TRV will fall on YOU ALL. @Mamacaja , come here o, your sister has been given a TRV! I'm returning to Naija as Doctor (Mrs) . A specialist and authority in Education by the special grace of God. Finally, commit everything to God. I took a step of faith, 2 days before I submitted, I went to church with all my documents. I knelt at the church altar and handed everything to God in faith. I have done mine as a human. God , please have the final say. He sure had a final say! @maziude my brother, your Ijebu garri and Bendel garri are coming. Your sister will supply you more than enough Bro. See you soon in Cannyland. |
With great joy in my heart, I want to inform us that my application I submitted exactly 2 weeks today has been APPROVED! |
okelion:Wow!!! Congrats Okelion! Less than 3 weeks? Amazing!! |
Wow!!! Congrats akmog |
akmog:Congratulations! !! |
Ope100:Congratulations Ope100 |
Will certainly begin with you . |
tommee:I think you can also ask for a reopening of your application file. It seems they don't really check the documents anymore. Let the Gurus come and assist in this one. |
@Ilovecanada, many people who applied for masters and PhD programmes did that because they were not originally planning to work in Canada but to acquire knowledge which would be helpful in their home country. Deciding to stay back after one's studies is another thing altogether. That is secondary . |
jnyuwa02:Kai! |
