Good job |
Can I apply? I know Php inside-out but have not work with Joomla but I am wiling to learn in few weeks if the project is not starting immediately. Let me know what you think. Thanks |
@GraphicsPlus, nice job. i like how compact your code is. I took a longer steps to implement mine. It is always good to see different approaches to same problem solving. I will try and do the second task during weekend. |
I just try to see if I can do the first task and the result I obtained can be found below. I did not optimize my style sheet. I will try the second one when time permit. The link is here http://toscanyacademy.com/testing/button.html Screen shot below

hmm, another new assignment from @Graphicplus. this one requires some algorithm |
singhabhishek25: @Nollyj, you are a good programmer I think, but at the same time I am worried that how a good programmer like you could be jobless? Are you jobless by your choice?I work as a freelance but I am only get few jobs in a while. May be it will change with time. |
People are always afraid of putting up their site for review? The war of words in website review is not helping matter here. 1. The text in product description does not look good o=in my eyes. Try and increase the line-height a bit 2. My opinion - the logo does not look so good for your branding 3. Other Listing is stilling listing the product a user is currently viewing. May be it should be removed from other listing 4. The logo position also seem far off. May be you can consider aligning it with top navigation All the best with your website |
jacintamary: ok, i now see, and i have used templates i edited heavily atimes. If that is a sin, may God forgive me.Remember there are web agencies that do not do the work themselves. They outsource their jobs and take some percentage from it. The can also pay for their own website. My thinking.... |
GraphicsPlus: There are cases I have upto 12 divs.Your first example is just 4 divs thats while I suggested using the last-child but in this present scenario I think using noMargin is a good workaround. |
GraphicsPlus: Again, in my case of .noMargin, reset.css has nothing to do there. reset.css typically removes margins, paddings and stuff like that from block elements, resets how block elements behave, reset ul and anchor links and so on.What about using .theDiv:last-child{ margin-right:0px;} |
Okay, nollyj, that one is very good. It seems you are jobless to be writing all that code, give me your email, let me give you a real life project to work on - this one, you will code css tire, and possibly javascript sef.
Yeah, I am jobless programmer but can code - tosca207 at yahoo.com |
GraphicsPlus: @Nollyj, thank you. u are realy a css guru. do u know that this thing gave me small wahala? at first i knew it will be a simple css3 transform effect, but the texts also were transformed becos i added them inside the transformed divs. i began to think. it then occurred to me that i can place the link outside the divs and position the links absolutely and target each of them to sit on its appropriate div. i think ur approach is quite simpler. You also did a nice job. Your solution has given me another perspective. Yeah, when I first saw that the links were rotated, I decided that since the rotation was 45 degree I can also reset it with minus 45 degree and it worked. Because one problem can be solved in different ways in programming, it has always left me thinking if the approach I adopt is very good. That has been my challenge. |
This is what I have tried to do. The link to the demo is here http://toscanyacademy.com/testing/css.html see the screenshot below
|
I went and made the circles with social icons responsive. Not the best but this is what time can allow me to do now. http://toscanyacademy.com/blog/admission-news-nigeria/learning-how-to-code
|
@GraphicsPlus,Nice job. I am working on the responsive issue. Will see how it goes. |
GraphicsPlus: @Nolly, you tried. At least I like the way you walked around it. You tricked the browser by stacking the human image into three. There is always another way to kill a rat. But why not use one human image instead of stacking them into three. Well, you may say, it's not necessary so long you achieved your purpose. I tend to agree with you.I will fix the responsive part. I did it in chrome and did not test it on mobile. When I reduce my screen size in chrome to device size, it works fine so I thought it will also work in mobile that is my fault. When I have time today I will work on the responsive issue. That one might be easier than working around the hover effect because I think a little media query will solve the issue. |
I decided to try this out. Not sure if my approach is quite good but it worth the time spent. The link to my demo is here http://toscanyacademy.com/testing/ Find the code here http://toscanyacademy.com/blog/admission-news-nigeria/learning-how-to-code |
They also did the same to one of my blogs last year. This is the link https://www.nairaland.com/994054/one-nigerian-website-stealing-content. But they later took it down when I informed them about intending legal action |
@ AUDIENCE, is this how to spell tomorrow "TOMMOROW"? I saw it on jamb website. It is written bold "TOMMOROW"; and it came up with a lady that is putting on an eye glass and a black shirt, when you want to check your result. You see! This just show that JAMB do make mistakes: for they are not perfect! Please whatever they have done lets forgive them and pray that they will take correction from their students. Please, lets not blame them: for they are human and and are bound to making mistakes. lets just wait and see if they are going to correct this Biometric stuff of a thing. And my advice to JAMB is that, they should try to be perfect, even like their father that is in heaven, cos it attracts rewards and claps..................................................................................................
I hope they do something about it soon |
Until when JAMB explains this issue of No Biometric verification everything now is just speculation. I still believe that JAMB left everything to their marking machine that does only what it was programmed to do. Case 1. If JAMB took into consideration candidates who could not thumb print during JAMB exam, JAMB results would not have be out by now. Case 2. Did the matching of Biometric verification data software installed on their marking machine 100% accurate? If not why should JAMB use untested or inaccurate Machine for marking answer scripts? Just like I said lets wait until Monday to see if JAMB will come out with a good reason |
We will continue to wait until Monday to see what JAMB will do |
teeowo: to those that did there biometric in there centres dd you feel any form after that or any stamp on your paper or stuff coz am not getting this at allYour questions make sense. Hope to get more inputs from others |
When your JAMB result is pending, many questions come to mind. Will it be release later? I don’t want to spend another one year waiting for JAMB again? What else can I do? What did I do wrong? To have your JAMB result pending is one nightmare any JAMB candidate does not want to see or even wish his enemy. But it happens every other year and this year is no exception. JAMB in her official statement during the release of 2013 result stated that about 12,110 results are pending. When I first saw the news I understand how difficult it will be for candidates whose JAMB results are pending. I have experienced it in the past and I knew how terrible it makes you feel. When your JAMB result is pending it simple means that JAMB is basically trying to find out if you are involved in any form of exam malpractice. In some case, you might not be directly involved and it may be due to your examination centre. If you are being suspected of any form of involvement and your JAMB result is pending, it is a 50 – 50 percentage chance that your JAMB result will be released. The difficult aspect is that JAMB does not effectively communicate to candidates whose JAMB results are pending. They leave you in a state of uncertainty not knowing if they will release your result and even if they will release it, when are they going to release it. JAMB post UTME exam depends on JAMB result and there are other decisions you can make if you have your JAMB result – like applying for change of course or university – which you can’t do without your JAMB result. I am sure that JAMB will release part of the 12, 110 pending results and some will not be released. There are many other options available to you why waiting for your JAMB result. Let’s come together and discussion way forward and other options available. Don’t stay alone and never walk alone. Let’s find strength in each other’s words of encouragement. http://toscanyacademy.com/blog/education/when-your-jamb-result-is-pending |
Ruthia: I did my biometrics nd everytyn........ I 1da y its showing me no biometric ver. Dis pple should stop breaking my hrt nd release my result oo.. Dibu or warevaI feel your pain. Lets pray they release it |
I KILL: I am a victim of this circumstance, as it stands now, what is our fate, some1 said maybe its because we didn't thumb-print but I know people dat thimb-printed dat r still having d same problem, is there a solution? If you did not thumb print it might cause this problem and maybe the JAMB official in your centre did not report it to JAMB that some candidates were not verified. I guess some people who thumb printed and still have this problem might be as a result of mis-match in software between the initial biometric during JAMB application and the new one during the exam. It is my guess. Not 100 % sure |
Are you one of the 2013 JAMB candidates who see No Biometric Verification JAMB result Error instead of your JAMB result? This may be why you are a victim of No Biometric Verification JAMB result Error. Imagine being in a pool of happiness when the news filtered in that JAMB has finally released her 2013 JAMB result. A friend called you and told you that he has checked his JAMB result and he scored 220. Right there, you can’t wait to run to a café with your JAMB registration information to check your result. But in the café, you filled in your required information and click submit button. While waiting for your result to display, No Biometric Verification JAMB result Error appeared. To your surprise you thought you did something wrong when you entered your pin code. You re-enter everything afresh one by one and the same message No Biometric Verification JAMB result Error reappeared. Right then, you realised that something was wrong with your JAMB result. Yes, something is wrong with your JAMB result but you are not alone. There are many 2013 JAMB candidates who are trying to figure out while they can’t see their JAMB result rather they are faced with No Biometric Verification JAMB Result Error. No Biometric Verification JAMB result Error might be cause by any one of the following; Due to problem of internet connection or network strength, many JAMB exam centres where not able to conduct biometric data verification to all candidates that sat for their JAMB exam there. It means you were not authenticated and verified for the JAMB exam as the candidate you claimed to be. Though some invigilators promise to notify JAMB about the issues but how knows if many did. In some situation, this might be caused by the candidate or JAMB officials. But if the JAMB official in charge of your centre did not file any report about it, I am not sure if your JAMB result will be released. It might sound harsh but it is the reality. Note that JAMB uses programmed machine to mark and compile JAMB result and the machine will also check for Biometric Verification data in answer script and may reject results without Biometric Verification data. If you have a question about No Biometric Verification JAMB result Error, feel free to ask. For JAMB candidates who had this problem in previous results we will also like to hear how you conquered it. You can also contact JAMB if you have specific question towards your own JAMB result. See JAMB website http://toscanyacademy.com/blog/education/no-biometric-verification-jamb-result-error |
