I have worked a bit on my template though much is left to be done. I am still missing some few pages and couple of styling. Since it is a work in progress I will like to get feedback on what to improve on. You can see the project here http://toscanyacademy.com/omalicha/index.html

Thanks

This NYSC application can be used to calculate how much you will earn during your one year National Youth Service in Nigeria. http://toscanyacademy.com/blog/nysc-salary-application

This is a learning process and a journey I will undertake as long as time permits. On this post I will share new things I will learn and ask questions to gurus whenever I encounter any problem. Those who want to learn like I do can ride along with me.

I intend to develop a responsive template which will be ported to wordpress, drupal and Joomla. By doing so it will help me understand how the templating system in these three CMS are constructed.

I have mock-up the templates in Photoshop (I am not so good in design but the PSD mockup is free to use and you can modify or change it the way you like.). I used 960 Grid for the layout. Content font size of 13px and a baseline grid of 18px.

I will use Foundation 3 by Zurb as responsive framework on this project. Free feel to use your framework of choice

First I have to recreate the whole PSD mock-up in HTML5 and CSS. This will serves as a base for the three different templates.

The PSD files are more than 10 files and I will only show the home and service files in image format.

You can click the link below it see the home page that I have started coding. You can download all the files here

(Note the file size is 31 MB. If you like you can drop your email and I will send it to you)

I have started with the home page and so far this is what I was able to achieve. I will like your input since it is not yet the final product. The link to the first coded page is http://toscanyacademy.com/omalicha/

I am doing this because I want to improve my skills in web templating.

I will keep up with the updates on work done and questions arising. Feel free to contribute.

(Please note that this is a fictitious website beside its purpose is for learning something new)

@yawa, happy birthday and God's Blessing

Nice post

Slyr0x: Just checked again. .

Nice try with the redirect thing going on. .but it can be easily bypassed.

Watch this video I made some months back http://rotimiakinyele.com/posts/bypassing-authentication-with-the-firefox-addon-noredirect.jsp

You really need to go back to your scripts and do a full audit.

Let's continue this in your mailbox. .

How to fix this

1. Make use of prepared SQL Statements
2. Limit database privileges
3. Escape All User Supplied Input

Thanks so much I have fix it. Thanks for pointing out.

Slyr0x: Just signed up but was unable to login. .

It seems you have run some venerability script on the website. Hope you did not find a hole. I don't know while you could not login. Please can you try to login again. Thanks

Thank you mitey and yawatide for the comments and observation.
@yawatida, I implemented infinite scroll in the photo categories. I have seen infinite scroll in many websites before but what I don't know for sure if many people like it(I did not search for any case study about infinite scroll). I have taken notice of other points you guys raised.

I am making a photo sharing website that focus on African photos and community. This is a project I am using to pass time since am off from work now.

I am using php less framework because I wanted a responsive layout base on device resolution. Right now I have focus on one resolution but will soon complete others.

Please kindly tell me what you think and what to improve on. I know the whole website is not done but half way input will surely help in improving the final project.

I am integrating the facebook and twitter login script now.

Feel free to send your input irrespective of what you think about the website. http://inducesmile.com

Thanks so much for your time

Dual Core: Oya take your medal, Nolly J!

It is just a learning process. Doing something I have not thought of before

Thanks at Dual Core

This is the simple way I can think of but there might be other ways to solve it.

I think most people care less about copyright infringement. They are only concern in ranking high in alexa, have a place in google search first page and make money from adverts irrespective of where their content is coming from.

The two reasons they use for their defense when they do not want to take responsibility is that

1. It was posted by a user (But where was it posted on and who is responsible or in-charge of the "where" )

2. They always claim they do not receive any previous request or notification informing them about right infringement. (Does it mean in cases like this, the contact form does not always work).

If not for anything it is important that we keep to ethics in Nigerian web sphere

Dual Core: Nolyj one question in my head now is the article writers you pay, what agreement do you have with them about the articles they write for you? Who has the copyright to the articles they write for you?

Although its highly unlikely but this may be a case of the same content writer being paid to write "unique" articles for both sites.

I do not think it is the case. My writers sign an agreement and the copyright belongs to me. I have many articles that I wrote myself which were among the copied articles

@Dual Core, thanks. your suggestion is already in my mind.

@naijafinder, you said you did not receive any of my two previous emails. OK, I have send another one and I have provided enough information that I will help you check the authenticity of my claim.

I hope you do something about it.

I just find out that one Nigeria website naijafinder.com are coping my blog post. When I checked they have copied around 60 blog post from my blog. I guess they are using their web spider to scrape my content. I even find out that they ranked higher than my website in many of my articles they copied may be is due not their PR.

I have send them two emails about this issue and that they should take down my content from their site but I have not receive any reply from them since then.

Some of these posts I paid writers for it. Since may website is about education, I care less about coping my content but if you copy my content you have to give credit to my website as the main source of the article.

I am doing something about it right now but I feel it is important to let other bloggers who write original content in Nigeria to check if their content has been copied by this site.

You can check my blog out and this is one of the link they copied from my blog http://toscanyacademy.com/blog/computer-programming/php-lession-2-basic-php

You can also see it on their website here http://www.naijafinder.com/education/17977-php-lession-2-basic-php.html

Please if you know the own of this website, inform him / her that some of their activities is illegal. Even when they choose to run an aggregation website in Nigeria, they should just make sure they are not violating other people's right.

"I graduated five years ago from university. Immediately after my National Service (NYSC) I got a job with one of Nigerian leading banks. Life has been good but since few years ago, they have been constant pressure from my family and friends to find a man and settle down. The pressure is taking toll on me every blessed day. My family and friends do think they know what is best for me, I appreciate their concern but the pressure is killing me gradually. – Anna" ,
