Hahahahahahaha, i assure you that this phone will not "revolutionise" anything. ALL phones these days are just stale and changing a screen's aspect ratio won't make things any better.

I would rather just buy the CX plus with 3GB/32GB than buy this. I hate this new 18:9 ratio and i also don't like the fact that it's back to plastic body... Eiiish, something is wrong here. Even the processor is downgraded form 1.5Ghz on the CX to 1.3Ghz. This is a NO from me.

I think what i really appreciated from this video was the multitasking capability. It was able to resume all the games after being minimised and did not force close them, that's the true advantage of having a whole 6GB Ram. while a 3GB ram could have also played most of those games effortlessly, it wouldn't handle keeping them in the background.

It was beyond my expectations. We all knew they'd be in space, but didn't expect the time travel twist, or the fact that the earth was quaked to oblivion.

Screen size. Anything below 5.5 inches is a NO. Resolution at least 1080p, 3GB/32GB at the least.
Don't care so much about cameras, software updates, waterproofing and all those fancy blah, blah features.

Phantom 8 has global connectivity, works with basically any network in existence. At least that's what was advertised.

Tecno just keep up producing identical phones and just give dem new os after day send u like 200mb bug fix dats all no os upgrade, yet dey will still produce same spec of trash next year and give it Android 8, u guys are still gona jump and buy, if u use ur brain u will knw were am heading to!!!

All phones are like that these days, specs don't change much. Just new OS and processor. You say tecno produces the same phones, but imagine iPhone has had the same design since iPhone 6 almost 4yrs ago. So don't complain, just enjoy your phone and let others enjoy theirs.

Nothing wrong with doing this. If you read major tech sites like GSM arena, you realise that every time security updates and bug fixes are sent to popular phones like the S7 and iPhone7, they write articles about it and inform their readers. Anyway all i'm saying is that you may need to cool your hate down.

That is if your scope of comparison stops just at the Tecno Phantom 8. But look outside Nigerian smartphone market, and you'll see that $275 for a MediaTek Helio P25 is not competitive at all. Doogee Mix with same processor start at $139. Vernee Mix 2 with same processor and even 3-ways bezelles display starts at $189, Xiaomi Mi5s... never mind!!!. Infinix Zero 5 is not competitive to me.

I don't like making price comparisons with phones being sold online, but in any case if you were to order for most of these phones online and add costs of shipping, and also add to your order items like screen protector and case (since you wont get these anywhere in town) you find that the difference is quite negligible and not worth the risk or wait.
However, you buy what makes you comfortable, that's it.

275$ is a very competitive price. I would definitely buy this over the phantom 8 since all the specs seem to be the same.

I just want to say that bezeless screen and 18:9 aspect ratio aren't "premium" or "high end" features and therefore are nothing to be excited about. You can easily buy a bezeless phone from as low as 150$ online.

We all know that the S8 is far better than the Phantom8, no one is opposing that. But why do fanboys get so offended when a simple comparison is made. It's like you're getting angry and frustrated at phones that you don't even own, defending phones you can't even afford.

How do you even go around making a review about a phone you've never even seen smfh... At the end you talk of people selling S7 edge at around 350$ and i highly doubt it, i need to see it yo believe it. The s7 edge is still selling at around 500-600$ for a brand new, but if you can get it at 350$ then i guess it's a better buy.

Their phones are way too expensive for an average nigerian to afford. LG is in the same league with Samsung, Htc, Sony, iphone, Motorola e.t.c In advanced countries where the GDP are higher, LG phones are very popular. E.g the G3 and G4 are still hot in the market in North America and are sold as premium phones by telecom operators.

No they don't retail at the same price. There's a 100$ difference and that's before you incur costs of shipping and taxes. But despite the price difference Mi6 is still a better buy. My only complaint is it's small size, i can't comfortably go back to something smaller than 5.5inches.

Its sad when I see comparisons like this. It would have been much better if the OP had compared maybe the Xiaomi Mi 6 with the Phantom 8. The Xiaomi Mi 6 beats the Phantom hands down in everything, including the design. But it would still have been a better or worthy review cos both are of the same price range.

Phantom 8 is nothing but an overpriced and over-recycled piece of phone. I'll upload the spec and pictures of the Xiaomi 6 just to buttress my point.

just to be clear, the Mi6 is better than the phantom8 but they're not at the same pricing. The Mi6 starts at around 430-450$(before shipping and taxes) while the phantom is between 320-350$.

Correction, not everyone likes this new aspect ratio. I've used an S8+ but it leaves black bars on the sides when playing games and overall the phone is just so unnecessarily long. I also personally HATE the curved screen corners.

For camera sake it's definitely not worth the money. But considering other upgrades like the 64GB vs 16GB, 6GB ram vs 2GB ram, 2.6Ghz vs 1.5Ghz processor, u can see why they still aren't in the same league.

I prefer IPS, but it also depends on the pixel quantity on the screen. The old AMOLED screens on earlier samsungs 1, 2 and 3 had a shade of blue that i really hated, but now the Super Amoled is so much better.

At least they put the fingerprint in the proper location

Where are you people getting your outrageous prices from? Have you even visited Samsung stores or checked online stores? Someone on this thread said her sister bought C9 Pro for 114k.

It's possible. Maybe she bought a refurbished model or a used one. But don't take it from me, check on Amazon and see Samsung's official price listing.

.That is not to say Tecno phones are complete rubbish. No not at all.. They have nice brands, they're just below par.

But that's not the case with Phantom 8. It has a global connectivity on any network around the world.

You're very mistaken. Chinese companies like Zte, huawei Motorola and lenovo have been selling low end phones in USA for years and even on carriers like Sprint and Tmobile. I've seen sub standard brands and i'm sure Tecno isn't one of them. Tecno's phones aren't configured to work with cdma networks in USA so taking a phone there would be useless, but that has nothing to do with overall quality.

Yes Tecno dont use the Lens they advertise... Camera bench marks will tell you that.
The camera lense are chinese version after 6 months go and check with the Picture you snapped when you bought the phone.

That's just an allegation that i haven't found to be true. I have a C9 that i got last year in June and after 1yr and 4months i don't see this depreciation in camera that you talk of. If you protect the outer lens from scratches then it will be fine.

Lol... 128k for Tecno? Like seriously?? You can get Samsung galaxy C9 Pro and Samsung Galaxy A9 pro for same price range.

128,000 equates to about 350$. The C9pro is 450$ at the least. A9pro is more likely to fit the 350k price tag but it's specs are so inferior compared to the Phantom 8.

I'd really love me a note8, but after having experienced my friend's S8+ for the past 3 months, i would not spend 900$ on these phones. At least not in my current financial position. Even spending 350$ on a Phantom 8 is too much. The mini phantom 6 at around 200$ would be a much more viable option for me.

I won't even argue with you. The iPhone 5 came out in the year 2013.. The Tecno J5 came out 2015. You can't even compare the cameras.

J5 was a low end model made with a low end 8mp camera lens. Shame on u for comparing it with iPhone 5. And on than note also notice that the Phantom Z that was released in 2014 has a better camera than a WX3 of 2017 so it's not all about years it's a question of "Which lens was used??"

You guys are just typical liars. Cameras don't just "Depreciate" for no good reason. Either the phone is damaged or the phone lens gets scratched. Some times you just get used to a camera and it's just not as pleasing as it was the first time. Keep in mind that the cameras you're referencing to here are NOT MADE BY TECNO but by SONY and these have also been used in popular brands like Xiaomi, Oneplus and SONY. So explain to me how it's only the lens used by Tecno that depreciates.
