In lagos, movie screening started in 1903 and by 1926 movie production in nigeria started.By 1957 coloured production started at a time when such was still a novelty.By 1957 ticket sales hit 3.5million movie goers.
Hmm, this is interesting.

1926 is quite surprising. Which movies were produced, where, by whom and for whom?

Not all these short plump dwarfs littering the south.
She is not a Hausa, she is Kanuri by tribe. Maiduguri people are not Hausas.

I didn't know na. But how come they speak Hausa if they have their own tribe?
Hausa was promoted as the lingua franca of all old Northern region tribes during colonial rule by the colonial masters. Many northern christian tribes were also evangelized to with Hausa.

We all still speak our own languages in our tribal homelands, but Hausa stuck due to the plurality of ethnic groups.

Southern Kaduna alone for instance has about 50 different ethbic groups with different languages. Same thing with Plateau. Nasarawa has about 30, Taraba has about 70 ethnic groups.

really? Interesting! I am learning a lot today honestly I thought that all north are hausa and fulani.
I can see that you do not reside in Nigeria.
Every educated Nigerian knows that the entire North-central (middlebelt) and parts of the North-east and Southern Kaduna are not Hausa-fulanis.

thanks! I will look it up i am interested to know bout this I ve always thought that all the states infact all North are hausa apart from Benue state and kogi
And where did you put we Plateau and Nasarawa people?

We and the Southern Kaduna people speak similar languages, have the same origins and cultures. We are all middlebelters and we are not Hausas. Likewise people from Taraba and Adamawa.

We all know southern Kaduna is made up of mostly Hausa Christians and that is why they are always attacked during any crises. Why can't Nigerians stop being tribalistic for once? undecided
Southern Kaduna people are not Hausas please. They are just like Plateau, Nasarawa or Taraba people. They have their own ethnic groups and languages. And yes they are 99% christians.

Of course, you can favorably compete as a Nigerian there. I have found a lot of success there as a Nigerian and many other Nigerians are killing it there too. If it's on Fiverr where I work, you use a VPN to change your IP so that you appear like you are in US or any country of your choice.
That way, you will be considered just like any other foreigner.

You can offer data entry services on Fiverr and still earn a good amount. Data entry involves just copying data from somewhere (given to you by the client) and pastng elsewhere. This reqyuires just basic computer skills.

If you are looking for the skill to learn under IT, you can look at video animation. It's hot.

Just hang on, I'm writing a full tutorial on how to go about it the right way so you can also make a killing on those platforms.
Ok thanks for your response.

Please, do well to notify me when your full tutorial is complete. You can reach me: nowenuseka@gmail.com
I eagerly await it.

Also, please, what type of Video animation are you talking about? 2D, 3D? Can you please specify?

@Bigboyz32, fergusen. Kudos to you guys for your efforts and more blessings to your work.

Please can anyone without any knowledge on ICT make money as a freelancer? If yes, how please.

Although i am just about to start learning some IT programs. Which do you advice me to go for that will be more profitable for a freelancing career through your experiences?

Lastly, i have registered on one of these freelancing sites you mentioned and seen how many people (other freelancers) from around the world jostle for freelancing projects. Now, apparently, most of the employers on those sites are non- africans. So, please, how do you guys secure freelancing projects there? Cos i really feel the chances as a Nigerian on those sites are very slim.
(thanks for your responses in advance and please bear my too many questions).

lol, okay. So whats these signs on your awesome Idu station?
TayserMahiri:
Are u insinuating the photo was photoshopped? That was Idu before she commenced operations. So who said Kenyans arent concerned. Do you know the number of engineers currently being trained in China and South Korea?
That was not Idu before operations. Read the english writing below the chinese symbol, it was just for the launching or opening ceremony of the station.
It was definitely reomved that same day after the opening ceremony.

But look at your own. Apart from the opening ceremony tag (which may be removed). Other signposts below were in Chinese. I have also seen other normal signposts of Kenyan railway in chinese (and not ceremony tags).

I saw you graduated from Anatomy on a thread. I'm a recent graduate of same and I'm kind of in a need for advice or mentorship from those who made headway in the field. Don't know if you still continued along the career path or you delve into something else ?
Ok, nice to know. Great Assonites! (hope you were a member)? What university?

Well it hasn't been too long i graduated either. And no, i did not continue in the Anatomical career. However, i actually may opt for a lecturing job in Anatomy which i have a means to securing. Or i may decline, depending on the outcome of what i'm already into (which is actually not related to anatomy).

So, i don't think i am in a better position to give you such advice. Do you wish to continue? If yes, with a master's degree or securing a job? (just curious).

From the above, it is clear that Nigerians believe they should be the ones supervising themselves in everything even though there's a lot to learn from the white man or Chinese.
And this is what i love about Nigerians. We always ask questions and resent foreign domination/influence.
We would always ask ourselves, "why can't we do it"?

As for Kenyans, they are very much okay and comfortable with any foreign aid and domination.

You can imagine Chinese language signposts all over Kenyan railways! What nonsense! Who in Kenya understands Chinese? Now, this is how internal colonialism begins.

Don't be surprised to hear that Putonghua (Chinese) will soon be compulsory for all Kenyans.

Truth be said, as at right now, Kenya is developing much faster than Nigeria. In a few year, it could completely surpass Nigeria as a modern country.
Developing faster because the Chinese built a railway line linking Nairobi- Mombasa (which is the biggest Kenyan project since independence) or what?

PoliticsRe: Why Was Nigeria Underdeveloped After 63 Years Of White Rule? by Nowenuse: 1:28am On Jul 21, 2017
Rossikki:
Togo? The GDP per capita of Togo is $590 per annum. Nigeria's is $2,700. This is average earning per person. Togo has a population of 7.5 million. Nigeria 200 million. It makes far better economic sense for a Biafran industrialist to establish his car plant in NIGERIA and export to Togo, if they'll accept his cars, rather than sinking funds in Togo with little room for expansion, low patronage, and low profits.

And all this is assuming that France allows Togo to allow you become competition for their Peugeot and other cars already there. You'll be shocked at the power a single phone call from Paris or London can have on some of these small African states.

Finally, even if the above were inapplicable, and it all went smoothly for the Biafran industrialist, who really benefits from his investment in Togo? HIM. And maybe some Togolese employees. The returns certainly won't go to Biafra. Dangote is building refineries and factories in places like Tanzania and Senegal. Is the money he's making reaching you?
I always wished i could re-like your posts. People like Warship and his extremist car-go fellow seccesionist passengers only learn from series of bitter lessons. .......Very very wishful and heavily deluded thinkers.

Rossikki:
Mr bodyguard for white men, you mistake my identifying white theft and brigandage for "blaming whites for our problems". The trouble with your mindset is that it allows imperialism to thrive, by turning a blind eye to it and pretending it doesn't exist. This further ensnares you in the trap of imperialists, as you welcome their exploitation with open arms. Rather than insisting they invest in technology within your territory, you let them get away with merely establishing extractive industries that take and put nothing back. Because you have a "don't blame them for anything" mentality, they come here and people like you treat them like gods, even as they take and take and put nothing back. Stand up. Be a man, and insist on your rights, not just from your own countrymen and leaders, but from all external partners.
I am a lover of your messages.

Any Black african that openly denies the presence of a powerful invisible present-day imperial force by the whites on our people is just blind to that fact.
It's not as if we cannot do better than we are now, no, we can, but there will still be a limit to what we can achieve.

How do you suggest we can stand up and insist on our own rights as you mentioned in your last sentences?

I do not know how long you have known Nairaland, but if I'm judge by your year of registration, then permit to say you are a newbie to OP's way of life. OP blames the white man for everything in Nigeria even not constructing portable roads in every nook and cranny of a place and supplying water to her residents.

Well, everyone is interested in what s/he can gain from the next person (humans are naturally greedy), but that is not an excuse for Nigeria's inability to provide uninterrupted power supply to her citizens after nearly 57 years. Something Faraday performed as an experiment in 1831.
I am a newbie to this thread and i have come across Rossikki on other threads. What you are saying about him is absolutely untrue and exaggerative. He does not go about blaming whites for our woes. I see him as just a very realistic enlightened mind who readily juxtaposes historical and present day realities, giving us Nigerians and Africans hopes and the reason to believe in ourselves by understanding the roots of our predicaments.

I think people like you just extremely exaggerate his personality and message to symbolize complete complacency and inability to take responsibilities for our woes which is not supposed to be.

I understand, but those who quote the 80% poverty rate don't.
Yes and this is the truth.
The people who rank poverty rate statistics for Nigerians do not even know how things work.
Many northern Nigerians may look or be assumed to be poor, but in the real sense, they are not, cos they are well fed with 3 squire meals. Food is excessively abundant and they usually have more than enough for sale.
This is the reason why Starvation is impractical in Nigeria unless with a case of civil disturbance like Boko haram.

Illiteracy and poor government assistance to empowerment of farmers is just the problem and not really poverty (in rural northern Nigeria).
