Yeah it's the Kenyans who started this whole thing on Twitter and Facebook, not satisfied with attacking the likes of Uganda and Tanzania, they enlarged their coast to SA, Ghana and Nigeria.
Oga mi, 3 gbosa for you.

This is just it. I have never seen a Nigerian anywhere who is interested in comparing or bragging about Nigeria anywhere else.
If not for this thread, i highly doubt you can see Nigerians anywhere dick-measuring country's achievements, but it is online everywhere you see Kenyans VS Tanzanians, Kenyans VS Ugandans and Kenyans VS everyone else. Very soon, Kenyans VS Ethiopians will break the net, now that Ethiopia has overtaken Kenya as the largest economy in East Africa. But i trust my Ethio peeps (so cultured and easy going folks) who don't have time for display of stupidity to place kenyans where they belong.
Sadly Coupled with the Black south africans who are always freaking hot to brag about the white man's achievements. One wonders why we hardly ever come across white South africans bragging online about their country they built.

We Nigerians are so occupied with our own internal problems that we don't even have the time or luxury to count any achievements we make (and truly i love this spirit! It gives no room for complacency cheesy).
This is why you see that the number of active Kenyans on this thread equals or even surpasses the number of active Nigerians on this thread, cos Kenyans are always out on the loose, looking for the slightest opportunity to bragg about their latest achievements.

I closely followed Kenyan media recently when they (sorry, the Chinese) completed this $3 billion railway project of theirs from Mombasa to Nairobi. Mehhn shocked, i would say i was quite ashamed to see the way the entire nation and Kenyan people were all happy, jubilating and celebrating like people who were just granted independence by Queen Elizabeth. .... If it were in Nigeria, you won't find such nonsense jubilation, rather, most of us would be looking for something wrong to insult and criticize about the accomplished project. grin

The Nigerian spirit always believes there is something better to achieve.

Nigerian govt tertiary institutions are some of the cheapest in the world, yet you will see most Nigerians still complaining about the cost. Lol

Taxation and cost of living in Nigeria is quite low and even free compared to many other African countries, yet most Nigerians still complain about high cost of living and taxation.

Not until i saw the comments from Kenyans and Ethiopians here, did i know that Nigerians enjoy a very high level of freedom of speech, but most Nigerians will never believe that, we believe we are under the worst dictatorship ever.

Nigeria undoubtedly has the best entertainment industry in Africa right now, but Nigerians will never stop insulting and criticizing our entertainers, producers, directors e.t.c. We believe they must surpass Hollywood before we commend them. cheesy (forgetting that Hollywood is almost a century old).

Kenyans for instance think Nigerians promote culture too much, but in Nigeria, most people are crying that our cultures are dying and are not promoted enough cheesy

Nigerian banks are the biggest players on the continent, but 'God forbid' for you to see any Nigerian praising any bank. We believe they are the worst on earth.

Compared to other African countries, the Nigerian govt is developing more cities/urban areas at the same time with our too many states and capitals, local govts and headquarters, but not too long ago, many Nigerians were agitating for more states, more capital cities e.t.c

How many more can i mention? I must say, i love this Nigerian spirit. It must continue until we eventually take our place in the world. No time to applaud or celebrate mediocrity.

Now, restructuring and state control is the order of the day in Nigeria. Lol. I sincerely hope it comes to pass.

Really, i wonder why.

It seems like social media has really done much harm to Nigerian unity. The kind of ethnic hatred you find between Nigerians on social media is completely different from what we see in real life in Naija.

We attend the same churches, mosques, schools, working places, parties, clubs, conferences, cinemas and live on the same streets, estates, compounds e.t.c and the issue of ethnicity or religion does not surface, only for you to come on social media and you think Nigeria is disintegrating tomorrow.

First, Kenya is only politically United. There is a lot of tribalism which expresses itself in government procurement, hiring, selective development, etc. Just like in any other country.

May be it's not ethnic diversity in Nigeria, but tribalism?
The nature of ethnic diversity in Nigeria cannot be compared with Kenya or any other African countries really (except maybe Ethiopia)

Almost all Nigerian ethnic groups belonged to one Empire or Kingdom in the past and all these Kingdoms and empires were always at war with each other and developed completely different cultures, orientations, ways of life e.t.c.

The British also created a lot of problems for us by continuing indrect rule during colonialism and promoting some ethnic groups over the other.

Now in Kenyan colonialism, all the Blacks were classified as one!
In Nigerian colonialism, some ethnic groups were given first class treatment and preferences, some 2nd class and some 3rd class!
This system of colonialism i would say was akin to the Belgian colonialism of the Hutus/Tutsis where the minority Tutsis were classified higher than the majority Hutus, hence the Tutsi feeling 'born to rule' kept on being resented by the Hutus. And we all know where this culminated. One of the worst genocide in the 20th century.

You guys, TayserMahiri, mtis and co should learn the colonial history of Nigeria and West African countries, please.

India has many tribes but they all share a common religion HINDUISM, they worship same gods and godesses and have a lot of shared history, cultures and ancestry together.
The only dividing factor within them was Islam/Hinduism divide which drastically ended as soon as Pakistan left.

Ghana is clearly Akan and Christian dominated.

Kenya is a clear dominantly Bantu and christian nation.

Kenyan ethnic groups never belonged to ancient Kingdoms and empires that were at war against each for centuries.

Nigeria and perhaps Ethiopia are the only African countries that have ethnic groups from different feuding past African Kingdoms and Empires all amalgamated and forced together in one country.

So, you can see that it is not the same.

Do proper research man! India [with over 600 tribes and languages] is more diverse than Nigeria yet they are still a united country. Even Kenya that you mentioned have more than 62 tribes speaking different languages. Furthermore, there are over 100 tribes/ ethnic groups in Ghana but they still love themselves. You confirm these facts from the internet. Ethnic diversity is not the real cause of disunity in Nigeria!

Paraguay was the last port of arrival of African slaves in Americas, and they, mostly of Angolan, Nigerian and Kenyan origin. The first batch of African slaves arrived in Paraguay in 1556. The blacks were mostly Yoruba people from Nigeria, Kongo (Ambundu, Umbundu etc) people from Angola and Kamba people from Kenya. The Afro-Paraguayans (Afroparaguanyos) who are also known as "pardos" were concentrated in three communities in the Eastern region of the country. They are the Kamba Cuá, Kamba Kokue (meaning "chacra de negros"- black farm in Guarani language), and Emboscada.

Kenyans should appreciate the Akamba who live in Paraguay in South America for maintaining and prompting the Akamba culture – and therefore Kenyan culture in America for centuries.

From what we hear, it has not always been easy for them with governments that want to deny them of their right to be Kambas.

The Kambas founded the two most significant cities for African Paraguayans, the most important being Kamba Cuá where the dance and culture are derived from the main Kamba dance in Kenya. Their ballet is the only Afro-Paraguayan expression in the country. It premiered at the Folk Festival peach “Uruguay Yi sings in” 1992, where it won the “Golden charrúa”.
Hmm, so, east africans also involved in the trans-atlantic slave trade? Really surprising to know.

I was about telling you and mujtahida to stop wasting your time, energy and intelligence, trying to educate average morons who not only insists on being daft, but at the same time irritatingly display arrogance and sheer madness with a veil of intimidation. You must have not only failed JAMB but also basic comprehension; look at you repeating exactly the same position that had already been painstakingly explained to you - as though you understood absolutely nothing from it; what a shame, common comprehension sef you no sabi! shocked

How also ironical that you should be calling me outdated; yet in the same breath still be clinging on to the same outdated nomenclature of the old regions - a case approbating and reprobating at the same time.

If you had any sense and had carefully read my posts you would have realised that I was only arguing on the legality of the middle belt as a federating unit; and contrary to your assertion I was never begging or appealing to anybody for unity but advancing the freedom of any unhappy party to walk away - so stop talking rubbish - yet again another example of your embarrassingly failed comprehension.
Is it just me or am i wasting my time with a hallucinating lunatic?
You are conspicuously the nincompoop utterly bereft of fundamental comprehension skills.

You are here pointing out people who failed Jamb and lack quality education, whereas the masses of your Hausa-fulani people are hopelessly wallowing in the abyss of illiteracy and horrendous poverty, with Hausa-fulani states leading the pack with the highest illiteracy and poverty rates in Nigeria, similar to Niger republic and Somalia.
So much for 'educated and enlightened people'.

No need for extraneous essays anymore. It is simple and official.
Most middlebelters are no longer interested in sharing the same social identity and destiny with Hausa-fulanis.

Yet another one who must have also failed JAMB.

Pls go back to my post and note how I tried (obviously in vain) to draw attention to the fact that a political party and a geopolitical land mass are not and cannot be the same.

In the 1st Republic the country was made up of legally backed geopolitical subdivisions of the regions and provinces; while today's equivalent are the states and local governments - the middle belt was never and still isn't anyone of them, pls get this straight.

It is sheer stupidity and ignorance to therefore equate any of the above, which draw their legality from the constitution, with a mere party or even an association register-able under an ordinary government agency - kindly know what you are talking about before embarrassing yourself in public.
Outdated abokii, we are no longer in the 1st republic or colonial period. A northern Nigerian federating government has died!
We now have only our states as federating units and the people of any groups of states are free to identify themselves however they please!

All Southerners are Southerners by political classification, but the Biafra (Igbo identity), Oduduwa (yoruba identity) and Niger-delta (South-south minorities identity) remains unique.
Everyone must know where his father's compound begins and ends when it comes to socio-cultural identification.

Stop being a unity beggar! Are you hausa-fulanis cursed parasites who cannot survive without parasitizing others? Why can't you be concerned about the affairs of Hausa and fulani land alone?
PoliticsRe: Middle Belt Won’t Follow North If Nigeria Splits – Jerry Gana by Nowenuse: 9:32am On Jul 04, 2017

You must be walking around with your brain in your pocket; so get this straight.

The Northern Region a.k.a. north or Arewa was a legally backed geographical entity, which included the lands inhabited by all the tribes you mentioned; while the so called middle belt never was and still isn't but continues to remain a mere geographical expression, a concept yet to be actualised - much like Biafra.

Presently, your representatives; governors, youth leaders etc are full members and participants in the ACF; likewise the Kaduna Declaration issued by a coalition of Arewa youths was comprised of and involved the full participation of your own representatives - incidentally whose involvement or participation in the coalition have so not been disowned by any individual or group from the so called middle belt.

The likes of Gerry Gana (a mere been) are nothing more than wasted political jobbers angling for prominence and relevance on the basis of cheap ethnic and religious sentiment, who represent a mere minority rather than from the majority of political heavy weights of significance - very much like Kanu/IPOB's quest for Biafra is representing a growing vocal minority rather than the silent majority of Igbos and political heavy weights of the SE.

Finally, much in the same vein with the Arewa declaration; be rest assured that core northerners are not unity beggars and remain resolute in leaving the door opened to any co-traveller wishing to walk out of the union at any time; therefore if you guys elect to leave; by all means feel free to also take the hike along with the Igbos.
Yes, the northern region is a legal entity but Arewa is not a legal entity, it is a figment and coinage of Hausa-fulanis.

The Southern region is also a legal entity, but that doesn't make all Southerners one people or speak with one voice. Yorubas, Igbos and Niger-deltans all answer their own fathers name and speak for only themselves!

Igbos speak for Igbos, Yorubas speak for yorubas and Niger-deltans speak for only Niger-deltans.
So, henceforth, Hausa-fulanis should start speaking for themselves alone.

Middlebelters can be legally part of the northern region but it is not compulsory for us to answer the same father's name with Hausa-fulanis. We must not speak with one voice. We must not belong to the same socio-cultural organizations.

Very soon, we the youths of the middlebelt will protest against our elders and governors associationg with any Arewa group! However, those who still want to join are free, but we will let them know that they are speaking for themselves alone! And not the people of the middlebelt!

-I think the war of where Middle-belt belong will really be fierce and bloody. Not to say the years of violence there hasn't being.

-The best each Nation/Tribe can do is to start a vigorous campaign to distinguish themselves and position itself for the eventuality. This "We're Middle-belters" is lazy, crowded and definitely doesn't hold water.

-Without the above, The Fulani caliphate will continue to do what they do best, enslaving your people. Remember they had the highest concentration of Slaves in the world even before Europeans got into the groove, and most of those Slaves where from the tribes in current day Northern Nigeria.

-The minority Tribes in the North ran Nigeria from mid 60s to late 70s, Gowon's kitchen cabinet known then as "Oxford Tribe" attests to this, but whatever they achieved the Fulani caliphate took the glory and ran away with it.
Very soon, the world will start hearing from us. The scales of slavery is gradually falling from the eyes of the youths.
If the overall middlebelt identity doesn't work, then we will form something else.

At the end of the day, northern minorities must have our own unique identity. Enough of this Arewa nonsense.
