Sorry we have 5 cities - Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu,Nakuru and Eldoret. We also have more 30 towns that can easily be described in Naija low standards as cities. And we have many small towns that actually can be called towns.

For example public schools - our public primary schools are bad and mostl people prefer private ones - but when it come to high schools - it the revise - and middle class & even richest - try to get to public secondary schools - because some of them are truly world class.

Stop fooling yourself. The majority of Nigerians including myself know that our cities are not as standard as they should be, but it does not stop them from being cities.
Our cities were better planned during the regional govts and when the states were larger. That was why the first sky scrapper in Africa was built in Ibadan, Nigeria. The first radio station in Africa too.
The military rule and proliferation of states came to destroy everything. Since the return to democracy most governors have started trying to rebuild their cities.

You have not been in this thread long enough when we were comparing Kenyan & Nigerian cities with each other. Lagos vs Nairobi, Abuja & PH vs Mombasa.

I challenged a Kenyan here for us to go on a picture posting competition of High middleClass, Average middleClass, low middleClass and low income suburbs in Kenya vs Nigeria. I gave him a terrible beating and he ran away for weeks. I can refer you to those pages if you want.

Apart from the extremely beautiful estates in Kenya where only the rich live, TayserMahiri could not show me pictures of average, low middleclass and low income suburbs in Nairobi.

Kenyans call our cities slums, no problem, let us compare pictures of suburbs in Kenya & Nigeria.

India also has terrible erratic power supply and terrible roads and a large percentage of their population rely on generators, yet, that does not stop 25% of India's population (300 million people) from being middleClass.

MiddleClass is judged based on the mean income and not the amenities provided to you by your government.

Our govt may not provide steady power or water for us, but they do not tax us of these things and we provide for ourselves. Your own govt may provide for you and tax you as well.

Do you know that Ghana and Ivory coast are dominated by the same Akan ethnic stock? Yet Ghanains are still darker than Ivorians on average. Why is this so?

Simple, cos most Akans from Ivory coast heavily intermarried lighter skinned northern west africans like the fulanis, touaregs etc.

l stayed most of my life in Warri and Benin, both are not major cities in Nigeria but have some private schools like the ones you posted too and many others. Standard private schools for the middle class are spread across Nigeria in majority of cities. Some are also built by Churches and they are expensive.

That makes two of us. I have also lived most of my life in Warri & Benin.

Of course the majority of Nigeria's over 40 million middleclass people do not live in Lagos or Abuja. The majority live in Kano, Kaduna, PH, Benin, Enugu, Warri, Asaba, Owerri, Ibadan, Ilorin, Jos, Calabar, Awka and all over the country.

In their country Kenya, 90% of the middleClass population live in Nairobi and perhaps Mombasa. There is no real urban life in Kenya outside both cities.

Kenya is extremely unevenly developed, hence their reason for being overwhelmingly rural and high slum populations. It's such a pity.

Many tribes in Nigeria had natural light skin since time immemorial and we have been mixing with each other for centuries.
My own maternal great grand mother looked like a mixed black and Berber/Arab woman, her hair was curly and not kinky. Many of my maternal relatives have a naturally light complexion and they were rural until my mother's generation.
