Ibrahim mr fish: Igala,is one of the most organise tribe in 9ja.We were a well organise and powerful kingdom b4 d coming of British. We use 2 control Nupe, some part of Yoruba and yes even Igbo.So u guys are so not in our level. So show some respect. NRI PRIEST: Dude you are soo soo ignorant meeeen!! Lol. Is it the same Igala that adopted the ancient Nri four days of the week(eke, oye, afor and nkwor) ?? Is it the same Igala that adopted the famous Nri deities "Ogwugwu" and "Ikenga" ?? Is it the Igala that most likely trace their roots to "Eri" ?? Igbo has no culture but the Nigerian movie industry was build around the Igbo culture and traditions! And for your information we had "Priest Kings" before the arrivals of the Europeans. What we dont practice is "monarchy". Time for home work, little boy!I see you avoided my hard punches yet you go around and kept running your dirty mouth. What exactly do you mean by "we controled the Igbo" ? Oh,let me guess. You will not reply my post because you know you are a rusty empty barrel. Its an insult to compare Igbo to the Igalas. Eri gave birth to the Igalas tribe but you wont know that because you a bassstard that doesnt know the way to his fathers house. I seriously doubt you are Igala like someone said. If you avoid this reply then I will know you are an inferior and a weak nonentity! |
2mch: LMAO!!! So Igbo's marry the dead. hmmm!I stand by my first post; No we dont marry wivies for lonely woman as our culture is against lesbianism. Think with your head, nigguh ! When a woman loses her husband after been married to him for considerably long time and had many children but wasnt able to bear him a male child to continue his lineage the "umunna" kinsmen will make plans and marry a wife in the name of the deceased husband and chose a man from his kinsmen cater to her and bear preferably male children who will advance their fathers(deceased) name and stop it from going extinct. We practice this tradition because we emphasize in keeping fathers name alive. One of my great aunt lost her husband and didnt have male children and she has passed child bearing age and the kinsmen married a wife in the name of her deceased husband and today am proud to say that she has given us very healthy five boys and two beautiful girls and we are contributing in sending them to school. Onye nwe anyi mma mma dili gi ! |
if your are so proud of your Igbo culture and you call us a bunch of cattle herders, then why are you christian are you scared so it means you are cowardly people.
Who exactly are you talking to ? And nobody is scared here! Its this same attitude that make ppl call you "aboki nama". Somebody comes here to slander the Igbo and you are talking like you are discussing a different topic? Too much burukutu. |
RealBitch: Im from Anambra state, and There's this trend amongst igbos, forcing a Man to marry a dead woman. My mum says its the tradition, particularly if the woman has children for him outside wedlock. Does this tradition make senseWho da fhuck is this ? Which town in Anambra are you from because imma get to the bottom of this. This is a big fat lie! You are not Igbo and certainly not an Anambrarian! There is nothing and I repeat there is no practice like this in Igboland. This is nothing but a slander against the Igbo by a non Igbo who is posing like one.I advice everybody to disregard this rubbish! |
shymmex: So, the Igala Kingdom whooped Benin lol...Thats what you always wanna hear! Still mad at the Benins for coloni zing you in your own backyard and even changed your name to "Eko" ? Lmao ! I wonder why the Benin neve fought their Igbo neigbhors . |
afam4eva: Now, i get why Izu and P Square are close. He wasn't even supposed to direct a musical movie featuring P Square sometime ago.Jos was a very calm place to raise kids until this fulani and berom conflict destroyed it all. Jos is like the Enugu of the SE. Indigines are mostly catholis like their Igbo visitors,it has very good university, great scenery with rocky mountains, the ppl are so nice and they love the Igbos. Most Igbos born there are very cool headed, calm, collected and usually successful too. I love Jos and the memory of the place still lingers in my mind. |
afam4eva: Was it against the laws? No, I don't think so.Dont give yourseld headache because some Nigerians are so ignorant beyond redemption; The said money spent was accrue to her. |
afam4eva: Do you think she's guilty of any crime? If you do then tell us some of the crimes she has commited. Thanks.I watched the probe on tv and you dont need a jupiter to tell you that she is clean but it seems her juniors bears a grudge against her maybe because she didnt allow them to steal..lol And do you remember she is the one that ousted Hon. Nembe from the panel, disgracefully. That woman is fearless and she knows her s.h.iit. |
afam4eva: I must watch that movie produced by Izu Ojukwu. He's arguably the best action director in Nigeria. The guy is good and he came from nothing but very determined like Jos raised Igbos like me,p square, obinna nsofor, mikel obi, saint obi and more. |
Ibrahim mr fish: 4 ur information,i'm a Igala person.U stupid canivals,i prefair 2 be a hausa 1000 time.Than 2 be a igbo, people without culture, imagine.U ppl have no king b4 d brit came.Dude you are soo soo ignorant meeeen!! How dem go come waste smoke like that nah? |
@Chinenye,is your mother an Ikwere woman ? |
Ajengogo: I was only praising the gallantry of my ebullient Attah of Igala without any intention of whipping up tribal sentiment. If you ever had a king in your kingdom that has the charisma, the sagacity, the oratory, the awe, etc. that characterised the late Agaba idu; and you failed to praise these attributes, then you must be something elseAbeegi go sidown; You make sound as if Igala defeated Biafra or that Igala as insignificant as they are can stand close the Igbos! Later now you will be crying you are being oppressed because you are minority! Dont start what you cant finish ! |
Time for Omo Igbo to make money. |
July 30th,right. Ayam counting. |
Must every word come from Ibo? very soon you will say 'Kabiesi' is a word used by your ancestors in Isiala Ngwa and Abakaliki to greet their Igwe...haba, must you always comment?
You are uncivil hence I cant converse with you. |
Ajengogo: idu kpala ny'omi! |
MacLovington: .Very interesting. An Igala guy I conversed with earlier told me " Idu" means lion and now this is my first time of hearing Bini was called " Ado n' Idu" which is what Onicha are affectionatelly. And there are two words in that phrase " Ado n' Idu" which depicts two different thing. Meaning "Ado" means something and ""Idu" another. I will like to know what "Idu" and " Ado" mean in Bini. |
Revolva: Rest in peace attah. Read more here http://africanspotlight.com/2012/07/attah-of-igala-and-chancellor-university-of-lagos-dies/My he the AGABA IDU rest in most peaceful bossom of our God. But dude, the Agulueri you mentioned are children of Eri and Nri i much more older than Igala so how can you say you are older than your papa?? There is no doubt in my mind that we the Nri are related to Igala but we are yet to come about when and how that occured. Most Anambra,Delta Igbo, parts of Idoma and Igala lands are the offsprings of Nri Enwelana which a son of Eri. |
vinibabe: . AGABA IDU is for OCI'IDOMA that is the traditional Chief of Idoma, like ATTA IGAlANow I am confused; Seems like Idoma,Igbo and Igala has more in common than they actually know. Well Vinibabe, aletheia thinks differently. He thinks is an Igala expression for " Great lion" while I think its an Igbo expression for "a great man" or " great masqurade" so you tell me what "Agaba Idu" means in Idoma language. Thanks dear. |
Great scenery indeed but like someone pointed out and almost got crucified Chime need to channel more development into the rural areas because 95% of the pictures posted here are of Enugu metropolis. I have always admired Enugu because of its calmness and beautiful scenery but it definitelly need more spread out development because it has great potentials. Spyder nwanne, great work. Olisa nonyelui. |
okeyxyz: I don't give a "f**k" where the word comes from, I'm only pointing out your flawed reasoning. You can't say "idu" is not igbo because one igbo guy happens not to know what it means, simple. Now if that comes across to you as ethnic jingoism, then i'm not suprised your logic was flawed in the first place. He sounds offensive a bit. |
@aletheia,I read somewhere that "Onoja" the daughter of Eri married a man and they bore the Igalla tribe. Igala even have the ancient Nri four days of the week and also has the "Ogwugwu" and "Ikenga" deities which originated from Nri. These factors show a strong Nri origin. So "Agaba" in Igala means great and " Idu" lion or is it the other way round. I have a good reason why I am askng all these. Bear with me. |
aletheia: If it's Igbo, how come you don't know the meaning of "Idu". Not surprising that the phrase occurs in Igboland. . .seeing as some Igbos (some Western Igbos, Onitsha, and around Enugu) descended from Igala. Agaba Idu means Great Lion.Nop,Igala originated from Eri. And "Agaba Idu" doesnt literally mean "great lion". Its an idiomatic expression and can be used to describe a great man. Agaba is actually a masqurade with great esteem in my town but I will call my father tomorow and find out what "Idu" mean because there is another expression he uses " Idu n' Oba". |
olulove: mod front page pls...this is oneWhere do you guys get this " Agaba Idu" from? I swear its an Igbo word. We always call a great person " Agaba Idu" in Anambra where I come from. Is it also used by Igalas. I know what "Agaba" means but the "Idu" I dont know. I am very curous and needs some explanation. Onicha is also affectionatelly called " Onicha Ado n' Idu". |
klairekk: My condolence to all the Igala community....Are you Igbo ? Where did you get the phrase " Agaba Idu" from ? I really need your answer ? |
