samorobo: Abeg there is a wide difference. One looks first world and modern, the other looks basic and the usually mediocrity in Africa.
Even comparing it with the video you posted you can smell the difference and feel it. If you shuffled both cities and tell me to picking randomly,it’s would be very easy knowing Nairobi.
What's the difference? the south African one has colonial-style architecture while the Kenyan one has a more modern paradigm of architecture.
Just40: You don't need to recarpet already good roads every 2 years.....
Accra just developed an area almost the size of the entire Nairobi built up are in just 6 to 7 years and they all came with roads, drains and beautiful residential areas.. done just in Eastern and Northern Accra alone...
Nairobi is now building it roads because it mostly remained undeveloped.
All the roads you see in that video was built some 60 years ago and every few 10 to 12, depending on the condition of the asphalt surface, it get resurfaced.
What ever you're doing in Nairobi is child's play where Accra is concerned. Accra put up more residential properties in 6 years than the entire Kenya will do in 20 years.
You must be tripping Nairobi of the 80s was more advanced than Current Day Accra
Just40: he doesn't want a longer video hence he has to, that area is too big for one video and every part of it is beautiful... All of those city streets were recarpeted 8 to 10 years ago.
If that was done 10 yrs ago then Accra isn't developing as fast.Every day new buildings are roads popping up in Nairobi red earth everywhere.
i dont know what parameters you are using to measure different development levels .... i dont see much difference infact kenya has already nailed vertical infrastructure once we start focusing on horizontal developments eg pedestrian walkways etc then for sure we are going to be at their level
Stargate254: They were meant for S.Sudan, Then the ship got hijacked by Somali Pirates back then, then the ships manifest was revealed to everyone by the pirates and it became an international incident... With Kenya risking being exposed for breaking an amrs embargo that had been put in place by the US on Sudan for supporting Bin Laden and Alqaeda , Kenya had to save face by pretending publicly that the tanks were meant for Kenya and not S.Sudan... So long story short, The tanks got stuck with us or is it we got stuck with the tanks ?
The funny thing though is that the CIA knew that we were secretely facilitating the arming of SPLM (the CIA even participated in the training of SPLM on how to use these weapons) to enebale them defend themselves against khatoum govt in the fight for self rule but when it was exposed by pirates, the US threw Kenya under the bus, their state department was even considering sanctions against Kenya and Ukraine... But the US Congress investigation is what revealed the truth about US involvement, and in the end they had no choice but to develop selective amnesia and forget the whole thing.
Interesting I didn't know we /CIA secretly trained SPLM on how to "use them"
NTSA: Maybe we should ask ourselves where would the S.Sudanese get the manpower to man and maintain 110 sophisticated equipment considering there had not been a training program for such?..at the time it's military was basically a militia plus . South Sudan didn't technically exist at the time since it wasn't independent. 110 tanks can support a huge number of infantry and since they aren't generally fast moving, where were the vehicles to ferry the infantry?
A tank which is basically an armoured fighting vehicle designed for front line combat, with heavy firepower, strong armour and tracks to provide good battlefield manoeuvrability needs a certain level of operational doctrine which I think the south sudanese militias didn't have at the time.
kabe1: There was news going the rounds that the Tanks were for South-Sudan. Thanks for clearing this up.

NTSA: I was quite engaged didn't watch the launch but will look for the videos. Btw there are prospects for mechanized parade tomorrow or some day later.
Just seen some photos of the place hope we end up hanging our F 5s here in the future.
Stargate254: I was watching live via phone and I saw some rockets and missiles at the Navy and army sections... Man it's sad to realize that we were better armed in the 70s than we are currently

Just40: [s][/s] all these tantrums won't save you ... Come back to reality
It's because you guys are stupid, that is why you allowed accomodations on your most rain fed lands instead of building your cities in the arid regions and use those favorable climatic areas for better agriculture...
Human being can breed on any land except on radiation polluted lands.
Most cities developed organically...as a result of many factors.
