Not a hater but it's a gimmick, imo! What's the purpose of a double shot of 5.56 needles when you can send a 6.8 mm or 7.62 NATO nail ?
Imo this is the only realistic twin barrel tactical rifle; an underbarrel 12 ga shotgun. Yes, 2 simultaneous shots may be ideal to penetrate armour and IIRC the AN 94 from Kalashnikov was prototyped for the purpose.
[urlhttps://youtu.be/XOHmfJ2O-JA[/url]

As you can see it had accuracy issues defeating that purpose and was also too complex for field maintenance and repair.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN-94

JESUS!? Even an experienced Master Gun Maker would struggle to repair the Abakan!

The idea however makes more sense to me than 2 barrels. Ofc increased barrel erosion would be a problem but modern mitigation methods exist from ceramic coatings or application of niobium, titanium and/or tungsten.
I see a successful version of the Abakan coming soon. Nowadays even Sahelian jihadists wear Level 3 armour.
Almost all articles I have read question it's practicality as an assault rifle.

Rvp.... I'm SHMA. Calling me a kid is disrespectful when you know my name.

Raila & Uhuru votes remain static. In 2017-- Raila got 44% ( i believe it's more than that)... Uhuru got 54% --- let's say the man from surgoi brought 14% of the entire votes; On a fair note --- Ruto started at 20% _more or less there_ in 2022 campaign. Assume he has garnered another 24% with Luhya and Kikuyu influence -- with the aid of MDVD, KURIA & GACHAGUA.... Still... Even with that... He won't manage to get into the shoe of RARUA.

Gachagua deducted 7% unapologetically (even more than that) from the previous 44% UDA votes. Karua added a whopping 20% and deducted 7%--- effect of chauvinism —people who don't believe in female leadership—. That means, she added a good 14% to azimio votes to the previous UHURU & RAILA static votes.

Simple logic will suffice.
Am not into politics that much but I can assure you that Railas campaign is loosing steam, the last nail on the coffin will be during the presidential debate.
The only thing that can save Raila from loosing again is having Uhuru to personally hit the ground and campaign for him .

Nigeria got alot of problems. I keep saying that the Nigerian problem is like a big Iroko tree with branches, a stem and roots. The Nigerian authorities keep cutting the branches and scratching off the barks from the stems. Meanwhile, the solution to the problem is cutting off the roots entirely.

The Nigerian security issues start right from the recruitment process and military depots. Where if you don't have people in top places you can't get admitted or recruited. People are not selected by merit but by "connection" and bribery. People fake their certificates and come here. Alotta people who are recruited are way older than the age limit. The authorities don't care about background checks as far as they get what they want. Only a few makes it by merit.

These makes it possible for moles and fifth-columnists to penetrate the security agencies.

Corruption, mismanagement, illiteracy, religious extremism, tribalism, poor followership and poor leadership are the main roots of the Nigerian problem. Intelligence gathering, equipment and manpower are just the "branches on the tree".

Nigerians are not ready yet to make this place better, maybe till Aso villa gets burnt. The people are uninspiring and still playin with this fire that will lit this gunpowder.
True, lately I have been reading a certain thesis by a Nigerian Army Major who argues that there can be no such thing as a pure military victory because insurgency /banditry is not primarily a military problem he says that the dysfunction found in society transfers to the military and is causally linked to battlefield success.

You are seeing better military equipment, you are talking road.

Security before infrastructure. If we had half this capacity, Boko for not fit disgrace all of us for Kuje yesterday night.
I don't think the Nigerian problem is lack of equipment there are gaps in intelligence collection .

Drone based mine/ied detection ( and even destroy them ) system could make a lot of difference especially for route opening patrol teams or any mobile unit for the matter

Cost effective too

Eg pic below is a mistral solutions 2 drone system which not only detects mines ieds but also eliminates them post detection
Interesting

Huh, the amount of tank turrets lying besides highways in Ukrain made me think our numbers are ridiculous even if we had 500 still wouldn't be enough... Or maybe we should invest more on ATGMs?

Yes alshabaab is definitely a spent force, back then their propaganda videos were actually scary, they almost looked like a conventional army without tanks or an Airforce or a navy. They numbered between 16k to 20k... Now estimates put them btn 6k to 10k after replanishing their numbers with new recruits who grow scanty everyday and have less training.. Infact the only thing that has kept them going was the influx of money and bomb experts from m.east who introduced new ways of making cheaper but more powerful IEDs including VBIEDs, this is what has been keeping them afloat, the IEDs do maximum damage with minimum force, then they spen the rest of the time studying and planning their next one time big large scale attacks to remind everyone they are 'still powerful'. We have reached a point I don't even think the rest of alshabaab needs an army to defeat them, AMISOM has won the ideological war, we don't need to fight them anymore, what we need to do is build roads, factories, hospitals and train their civil servants and civilian police to run local administration... Once people start getting paying jobs, youths would see alshabaab as the ones holding them back and not their saviours.

On military procurement, apart from the At-802u light attack aircraft, there isn't any major purchase that's on my radar.. I think Kenya put a break on major purchases because of the huge loans we took for the country's infrastructure, there just isn't any room to justify that kind of spending for the military, parliament would never aprove. Instead the military has been concentrating on low hanging fruits like enhancing local manufacturing for uniforms, boots, ammunition, rifles, military rations, improving training programs.. Bettering Soldier personal protection (it's very rare to see a soldier on the frontline without body armour today, it used to be be common occurrence in the past) We have also seen significant investment in soldier welfare systems... like housing, family support through education and medical cover for dependants , life insurance for soldiers KIA etc

In as much as we are programmed to peg everything concerning the military to the cool military hardware, let's not forget that in veitnam the US committed almost all it's firepower save for nuclear power and still lost.
