Hello Nurey,

Just to keep you informed; I interacted with Ivory per your lead. The vehicles are one Defender 90 and one Defender 110. He is a great guy to speak with. I was only interested interested in the 110 which unfortunately is a restoration project car that they working on presently. He sent me many pictures taking from different perspectives of the 110 and the various parts that are being restored.

I will pass on this one but he will be looking out for a viable vehicle for me. Just thought to let you know.

most of the Error you have is electrical, probably you have entered a high depth water, rat have eaten your wires or the sensors have given up due to old age.

Start by finding a good Rewire to trace the wires, you will also need a multimeter to check for breaks in those sensors.

It's past a year, and my shocks are still functional for the rear while the front is 2years whao.

well you know the saying old things need to pass away and new ones fit in.

Got myself brand new front brake disc and one rear hub, water and road had damaged that. Got my self new brake shoes too for the front, while the rear changed the drum internals for one side, the springs, adjuster and clips were rusted.

It is a type of auto trans. You can have auto or manual.
Under auto we have the cvt e.t.c

I am not going to get into an argument on that with you, you have a right to your opinion my basis of differentiation is to let the op know CVT is different from an automatic transmission.

A CVT was designed from an automatic transmission but you will agree with me they are both quite different to a large degree.

besides that city doesn't have an auto trans, it's either manual or CVT. He and his mechanic don't know that reason why they keep pouring Oando dextron 3 inside it.

Your City uses CVT not Automatic transmission. Because you have PRND on your gear doesn't make it an Automatic transmission.

You can either learn from your mistakes or waste funds on ignorance, your call.

Honda City has manual transmission and CVT not normal automatic.

you should always use Honda cvtf in the transmission, any other thing is going to destroy the transmission

I need something that could tackle Naija road but do so with some degree of comfort and good handling. Coming from an Xterra, I appreciate the overall off road capabilities of that car but I need something more refined.

Please people, this is not a thread about how one car is better than the other but what will probably fit into my need.

I have looked at the Acura MDX and Mazda CX9 a lot more just because they both appear to offer that good ground clearance, relatively newish design, good off road capabilities, good handling and shape of both have grown on me.

I also like the Ford Escape - I've had experience with the 2004/5 model, however, I have no clue as to how the more boxy 2009 version will handle Naija roads and level of comfort.


Anyway, enough story. Make I hear from you people. Thank you all in advance.

if you are in Lagos, I mean living and working in Lagos just buy the Honda Pilot. it has less sensor and not complicated and parts would be affordable and available.

The roads are bad and flooded, the Honda will take the beating over and over and over and over ... again without breaking a bank.

the difference between both you picked is one was manufactured earlier than the other, but 07 and 09 ES share same thing trim for trim

@piyke & thebigkendo But it’s just half and top I bought. Everything fit in place. Just the water pump housing that was switched.

@gazzuzz It didn’t have any plastic stuff on it when I saw it at the shop. Does the odyssey and accord engine have different engine mounting configurations? Because the mounts are all in place. Does this engine have a balance shaft that may be bad?

Sorry for the bother but My heart is paining me right now. This engine is already past its warranty and I can’t return it so I’ve used my money to buy space bus engine??

Edit: if there’s an issue with the timing chain of the engine can it give such symptoms?

I believe what you bought is actually a K24 A2 or A3, the A6 in your initial pix looks funny like the 6 was altered not as clear as the rest.

from the stats of the A2 and A3, the engine is more powerful than what was fitted in the US/international market accord. Only the JDM and Euro Accord were fitted with such powerful engine 147kw against 118kw.

I am not really much of an engineer but my verdict point me to think the Engine won't perform well because of the ECU, Engine internal may fit but ECU mapping is different.

but wait for those who are the real mechanic to give you a better know how. The A6 insignia may not really be given by Honda, but by enthusiastic since for that Odyssey, V6 was dropped for a better tweaked A24 in the sporty absolute model.

Please have you come across the 2.4L K24A6 range of Honda engines before? I purchased a new engine for my eod but later found out it’s not the regular K24A4 and if I go on google there’s never any mention of the K24A6 series.
