plz someone should answer me before i do mistake shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
Every car engine has a specific spark plug number you are supposed to buy. When you buy original plug not meant for your engine then you will still have issues, sparkplugs is not synonymous to "All sizes fit"

To know your recommended sparkplugs

Most Toyotas and some brands have the specific type when you open the bonnet it would be clearly written on a parchment iridium, chromium etc with the type twin tip, copper plated etc.

You can also remove one of the plugs and read the inscription on it, the replacement should be exact example NGK iridium spark plug k45612

Next is information available from the manufacturer and forums these information are available in owners manual, manufacturer website or specific brand forums which can also give details of other brands of sparkplugs that are alternative to the recommended one

Interesting.. I never know volvo shared platform with Mazda & Ford
They did seems Ford is a prostitute in the car industry grin they share UpTo 60% parts, steering, suspension, brake system, electricals and some other stuff though it is the European Ford focus which should be the Ford Mondeo or so.

Though Volvo owners have vowed never to utilize Mazda parts siting issues of reliability but engineers have hinted that Volvo underpinning parts are actually stamped FoMoCo

& which is easier to maintain, more reliable & fuel economy btw 07/08 civic & 03 corolla. Thanks
Both vehicles fair well in the area of comparison. Easier to maintain is subjective as both have identical engine power plant so oil change and filter is likely. The only part here is the corolla would have more failed parts as the mileage will be close to X2 that of the civic.

I would pick a civic bought brand-new in Nigeria because it would certainly have low original mileage. Nigeria isn't as big as US what I would watch out for is maintenance and present engine condition.

The civic comes with factory fitted alloy rim while the corolla is steel rim.

interior wise the civic has an edge with digital dial and well illuminated dash though the center position of things can be a bit odd.

ground clearance I give it to the corolla.

suspension parts I give it to the civic solid engine too.

if both cars were presented to me in good condition the best choice will be the civic if I don't mind resale value as topmost of my priority.

I guess you talking about the second generation, it's a fine car and shares some mechanical parts with Mazda 3 and Ford focus. though if you can avoid the 04, start your search from 05 and above

notice the modifications to the rear suspension

Replaced the entire rear suspension.

coil springs eliminated, leaf springs installed, rear dead axle from possibly a peugeot J5 installed in the rear. This Vehicle (even though unsafe) is ready to haul more than its design capacity without breaking down.
This one is a learner, this same design has one fitted with 4 tyres at the rear, it could either be a Passat or Volvo 740, the day I went to badagry where I slow down with a Lincoln navigator this guy zoom pass it.

Please compare anything that's worth comparing between the two. Thanks
There is not much of anything to compare both will serve you. But the only thing there is if you wish/prefer/like/enjoy to be different pick the Volvo but let it be the wagon V40 the saloon is ugly.

This brand is not sold in US but Asian market, brand-new would probably hover around 10 to 12m with that same amount I can buy a 2013 BMW X6 Mseries which has more effizy and respect than this HR-V

great technology. I hope spare tyres are still fitted under trunks
depends on cost cutting tires and rims fitted under the trunk are exposed to environmental weather and elements which can degrade it since it's in the open it is cheaper that way than say one fitted inside the car with a special holding or those fitted at rear of the car for aesthetics.

some like the rear fitted ones found in Honda CR-V others like it hidden in the car in a special column made for it, while someone like me won't mind the exposed under trunk type makes extra space available for luggage and what's more easier to loosen the tire without offloading luggage when need arises

unlike older models are auxillary gears fitted into newer model suvs?
yes but they are very limited now most utilize something close to AWD which is an intelligent system that activates the needed wheels when it senses slippage, others uses buttons or switches no more auxiliary gear.

I want to know if there is any constant issues with the Toyota rav4 2007 to 2011.

Its not so common and usually under rated as an suv. Any reasons?
The reason it is not common is competition and stereotype.

It has competition from earlier models in pricing and other brands from both the maker and other makers.

Stereotype is that it is a female car, more males stay away from it and a greater % of females have to wait till their husband buy for them. (please it doesn't mean females can't work and buy their own car ooo)

FWD AND AWD both on all season tires would be catastrophic in the snow. Although AWD would offer better acceleration in snow but that's just it. The mistake a lot of people make is thinking whenever they are driving an AWD vehicle they can't get stuck especially all these sedans. AWD in most sedans give u better traction on good terrain and are good for cornering and better acceleration. Has little to do with bad terrain. So like I said it doesn't worth the extra money buying an AWD sedan if u really don't need it. A FWD with winter tires will get the job done.

Watch the video below and see for urself. Even when u equip both with winter tires the AWD doesn't have any significant advantage other than improved acceleration.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXjzYbpt9Ow

Now watch as 2017 honda pilot with AWD got stuck on the beach. This is even an SUV with sand mode oh, compared to most AWD sedans that don't even have sand or snow mode. That thing doesn't give u any better traction on bad terrain.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5wBLzODmkg
so are you telling me 4WD too won't get stuck in that same sand, in my secondary school days, a 4wd Prado got stuck in mud, we had to give it a little push out to assist it.

AWD depending on what type (full-time or part-time) also sends power to other wheels when they require it, the major difference i see there is AWD is an intelligent system while 4WD is more like a manual one.

I agree with you that AWD is a waste in Nigeria you have little or no use for it here. But if that's what within your grasp to buy, then I see no reason not to

Good evening. My Toyota Avensis '96 Wagon has been giving some iron to iron rubbing kinda of noise. More like brakepad rubbing iron against iron. I noticed that when I was on reverse some days ago, the front wheels sort of locked. This morning on my way to church, I noticed that the the brakes pedal floored and I had to pump it up before the brakes could hold.
On reaching the house it also got flat and on pumping it I discovered that the hydraulic was just leaking from one of the front wheels. Please what's the problem and how do I go about fixing it? It's a first for me and I don't want to be a maga for the mechanics. Thanks.
You have problems in the brake section the best advice is to look for a qualified technician to inspect it.

Anyone have any experience with this?
yes the AWD parts would be different from RWD or FWD in the wheels/leg section am talking about shocks, transfer case etc. As for the parts been rare I don't know about that never used one b4 personally.

Do not be deceived. AWD sedans don't offer any significant advantage over FWD in mud or sand. In fact if u are not a type that likes to race then u don't need an AWD sedan. Its just an extra thing that would break.
It does, if you transverse Lagos Ibadan expressway regularly then you will know there are some shortcuts of mud road you don't want to take your FWD else you sink.

I have watched the comparison between a fwd vehicle and the AWD variant of same vehicle and I know the advantage.

what I am saying in essence is because naija doesn't experience snow AWD may not be an immediate need in vehicles

no Nigerian mechanic has visited the car since it came and I don't want to invite someone who would not know what he/she is doing. I have been using cars for years but never experienced such.i don't even know how to explain the issue that's why I'm looking for someone who can come see the car and diagnose
at least if the drive shaft is bad, vehicle should still move when it being pushed in neutral position right?
What type of scanner did you use? I hope it's not those Bluetooth variant. You can check the profiles of the gurus and lift their numbers from there, call them one by one if they can send a representative to diagnose the car and ensure you tell them you will pay for such services that can boost their morale to show face.
