In the UK as well as any other place, for you to maintain your licence to practice, you must remain on the GMC practice and part of the requirements for that is that you pay your annual dues as well as do your periodic revalidation. Failure to do that means you lose your licence to practice irrespective of the fact that you've practiced before. A licence to practice doesn't last a life time. Saraki obviously is not maintaining his registration as he has no need to.

Earlier today, the award winning governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano donated some patrol vans and motorbikes to the Security Agencies in Anambra State to help in policing the state.

It's no more news that Anambra state is the safest state in Nigeria where crime fighting has been advanced from mere management to prediction and early prevention.

At the presentation ceremony held at Governor's Lodge, Amawbia in the presence of Heads of Security Outfits in Anambra, a total of 13 vans and 20 motorbikes were distributed.

Out of the 13 vehicles which are all four-wheel trucks procured from Innoson Motors, Nnewi, Anambra State; 5 each will go to the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC while the remaining three will be for the Anambra State Vigilante Services. The 20 motorbikes are also for the NSCDC.

Presenting the vehicles and motorbikes, Governor Obiano explained that they were provided as requested by the security agencies and charged the officers to continue putting in their best for the security of the state.

I do not care about who the president of Nigeria is as long as there is no 97% vs 5% division. What Igbos want is a level playing field as ed on merit.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has paid President Muhammadu Buhari a visit at the presidential villa in Abuja.

Though details of the meeting which took place on Friday, November 24, have not been disclosed, analysts suggests that visit may be the governor’s way of showing appreciation to the president for the smooth conduct of the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election.

NAIJ.com had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, November 21, promised to give Nigeria free and fair elections, no matter which way the results swing in 2019.

Buhari made the promise in his reaction to the Saturday, November 18 governorship election in Anambra state which was won by the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano.

In a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the president commended the people of Anambra state, the governorship candidates, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), election observers as well as security agencies and other stakeholders, on the peaceful conduct of the November 18 election in the state.

In a related report, the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, has said the federal government cannot stop people from selling their votes during election periods.

The minister made the statement when praising the successful conclusion of the Anambra state governorship election, Vanguard reports.

He said the outcome of the election showed that the Buhari administration had provided a level playing ground for all.

Forget 2015. Buhari contested three elections prior to that. On two occassions he got over 12 million votes and one just over 6 million votes. On those three occassions, almost 90% of his votes came from the North. Now that his tentacles has spread beyond the North, i will bet with anything, Buhari will defeat anyone with two eyes closed in 2019. The only way he can be defeated is if he choose not to contest. Love him or loathe him, Buhari is an institution.

The attention of Peoples Democratic Party National Youth League (PDPNYL) have been drawn to some malicious and sponsored write-up by some respected party leaders and their supporters against the National Chairman, PDP National Caretaker Committee (NCC), Senator Ahmed Makarfi and other members of the Committee with respect to the December 9 Elective National Convention, the position of National Chairman and the Presidential candidate of our great party.

It is preposterous that while youths and other members of the party are working hard to ensure a hitch-free Convention that will usher in new leadership whose responsibility is to reposition the party for greater height and lead the party to victory in 2019 polls, some senior party chieftains and their supporters are resorting to blackmail the Senator Ahmed Makarfi and members of the NCC alleging that the party Chairman is bent on handing over the party to Prince Uche Secondus, a former acting National Chairman and an aspirant for the National Chairmanship seat in the Convention.

Having followed the process that produced ad-hoc delegates, who together with other statutory delegates will participate in the National Convention as voters, we wish to state that it is untrue that Senator Makarfi and the NCC tilted the process to favour Prince Uche or any other aspirant for any of the elective offices.

As stakeholders in the party, we are aware that state chapters of the party conducted Congresses in states, while those sent from the headquarters of the party only played supervisory role to ensure that the process was successful. The Appeal Committee hear complaints and recommended solution without directly involving in the selection process. May I add that for the first time in years, the NCC made available the names of delegates for aspirants running for the office of the National Chairman and other elective positions, for aspirants to reach them directly to solicit for vote.

Furthermore, we are aware that the Senator Makarfi led NCC had further directed that all aspirants for the National Chairman nominate candidates who will represent them in the yet-to-be-constituted Planning Committee that will supervise the Convention, a position that was reinforced by Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the NCC’s Publicity Secretary.

We are amazed that despite these moves to show transparency and fairness, some chieftains still resort to blackmailing party leadership, spewing unfounded and malicious allegations against Prince Uche Secondus and engaging in calumnious campaign instead of to explore all avenues provided by the party to reach delegates who are to decide their fate.

We declare as baseless and unfortunate the allegations against Senator Ahmed Makarfi, the National Caretaker Committee and Prince Uche Secondus.

Finally, we wish to state that on no account should any aspirant for any of the elective offices, including Prince Uche Secondus be bullied out of the race the position they seek. The era where a selected privileged few will sit in a round table to decide who get what in the party and scheme out aspirants without due consultation under the nomenclature of micro-zoning, consensus etcetera is over.

I am writing this piece as a party faithful that has strong interest in the rebuilding of the Peoples Democratic Party for it to be well positioned to offer Nigerians the leadership they earnestly yearned for ahead of 2019.

It is truism that a lot of people (myself included) got aggrieved by the party as a particular point in time between 2014 and now over one reason or the other, but we had to retrace to build the PDP because it is the only party with popular support across the length and breath of Nigeria and with wide acceptance by the Nigeria people irrespective of age, gender, social status, religion or ethnicity- I make bold to say that no other political party could boast of this.

However, since campaign for aspirants vying for various offices commenced, I (and members of the public) observed that some aspirants and their supporters have been engaging in maligning the image of fellow contestants by employing fabricated contents to blackmail both the party and the aspirants themselves. For the purpose of this piece, I shall concentrate on the office of the National Chairman.

Prelude To The Chairmanship Race
On August 12, 2017, the party held a non-Elective National Convention. The National Convention, being the SUPREME ORGAN of the party made a series of resolution and zoned the office of the National Chairman to the South in the next Elective National Convention, while the party's Presidential ticket for 2019 was ceded to the North. Let me state that the South here is in the context of Southsouth, Southwest and Southeast, while the North is in the context of Northwest, Northeast and Northcentral.

After the National Convention, the National Executive Committee (NEC), the second highest organ of the party after the National Convention met and approved zoning of party offices to be contested for at the December 9 &10 National Convention. The NEC approved the zoning of some offices to the South, which include the office of National Chairman. The NEC did not microzone any of the offices to any of the Six Geopolitical zones, the position of the NEC is that let every interested aspirant from each of the two regions (North and South) aspire to any of the offices, including the office of National Chairman, that has been zoned to their region. This position of the party opened the floodgate for party leaders and chieftains to declare interest for their preferred position.

It was because of this arrangement that party leaders from the South such as former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Rashidi Ladoja, former Deputy National Chairman Chief Bode George, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, Mr. Jimi Agbaje and Chief Gbenga Daniel, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi and former Acting National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus declared their interest to lead the party in the capacity of National Chairman.

What Is The Justification For Malicious Content Against Prince Uche Secondus?
I have been reading some unprintable remarks from a couple of Aspirants and some of their supporters for the office of National Chairman against the person of Prince Uche Secondus, a party leader from the Southsouth, whose only offence was being a highly popular and acceptable aspirant among those that are interested for the office he is running for. It is even more disturbing each time I come to the realization that the recent campaign of calumny against Prince Uche Secondus and the Senator Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee is contrary to the provisions of the Peace Pact that was voluntarily drafted and signed by all 8 Chairmanship aspirants.

As a supporter and believer of Prince Uche Secondus project that has been following his campaign activities, I have never at any time heard or seen him maligning his fellow contestants. He has strictly kept himself to his 3Rs, which involves to Rebuild the party, to Reposition it for greatness and to Regain lost ground. What again is the justification of attacks on Prince Uche Secondus person?

I want to appeal to party leaders, contestants and supporters to always have in mind that we are all PDP and calumnious campaign will never work to subdue the choice of members, chieftains and delegates of the party, neither will it kill the spirit of Secondus.

I once again appeal that we remember that we are all PDP and we all have the responsibility to work with the eventual winner so that we can take the party and Nigeria to an enviable level.
