Recently I was promised some monies after attending an online conference. My problem is that I have never received money in pounds. Though I have a Payoneer account that has been dormant. I also have a PayPal account but have never used it. To make it worst, I have just read online that Nigerians can only send not receive from the latter. The prior is also a problem because of the age mismatch.
Folks, how can I receive money from abroad aside from this method? I have also tried opening Geegpay but to no avail.

WHY I WENT BACK FOR A BACHELORS AFTER MASTERS

As the interview came to an end and the Professors and other Academia on the panel concluded their reviews, one of them decided to speak out.

Prof - You are such an intelligent young man with a fine Engineering mind and experience but we cannot hire you. You don't have the requisite qualification to be a lecturer. You can only come in as a technologist.

Me - (With a worried voice) But why sir.

Another Prof - All the credentials you have here are DIPLOMAs except the M.Eng.

1st Prof - Only first degree holders can lecture in the university.

I looked at the documents I had with me again and for the first time, it dawned on me that I was going about with diplomas;

- OND - Ordinary National Diploma
- HND - Higher National Diploma
- PGD - Post Graduate Diploma

The only A4 paper with a degree was the Masters of Engineering Degree.

Nigeria happened to me.

HND+PGD+MEng is a 'wuruwuru' path, it does not equate the Bachelors degree.

I graduated with distinction in my class and amongst the high flyers of class 2011 of the School of Engineering Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana. I had my plans settled and my career path chosen. I wanted to be a lecturer and nothing more. I asked the questions there was to ask and consulted lecturers in the school who kept assuring me that HND+PGD = BSc. Armed with these assurances, I got into a Post Graduate Diploma programme of FUTA almost immediately after my NYSC, graduated with distinction and headed for Masters straight up.

After the Masters, I applied for a Assistant Lecturer position at the newly established Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE). I was optimistic no candidate can best my grades, abilities and years of experience. 6years of teaching in the secondary level, 3years of Lecturing at the polytechnic as Lecturer III, 12 publications in peer-review Journals, 6 Textbooks of Engineering. 'My CV just full anyhow'.

Alas! I was wrong. HND plus a PGD is all Diploma. I cannot be employed to teach in the University even though I am the best of candidates they had interviewed

To overcome this sort of insult to my intellectual abilities, I return to the south to do a HND-to-B.Eng top-up programme.

My dear friend with HND, please learn from my story. HND cannot be equal to B.Sc, B.A or B.Eng in this country oh. In the Civil Service, there is a limit to your promotion with a HND certificate. This is the sad reality, let no man beguile you.

PS: I have had to repeat this post because of the many enquiries on my DM from HND holders.

While the removal of fuel subsidies has succeeded in making some people better off, it has also made them much worse off.
I have this neighbour whose generator set is close to me. Anytime he turns it on, the noise used to disturb my peace. Even worse is the music he plays. He always turns the audio high such that the noises will be competing for decibel supremacy.
Even more worrying Is the late he keeps. He is the type that sleeps with the generator set turned on. The extraneous noise always keeps me awake because I am a light sleeper. I can't recur the last time I achieved the respite of a good night's sleep.
This continued until the federal government announced the increase in fuel prices. He repeatedly tried to cope with the astronomical price but to no avail. Still unable to afford it, I am now sleeping without the sound of his generator set. I am now achieving the respite of a good night's sleep. This is the only thing I have benefitted from the FG removal of fuel subsidy.

At a time he would confront a person sitting for no apparent busy. Sometimes he would utter invectives. Too many that I cannot express them in words.

Early last year the brother all of a sudden became mad. This is a brother that was very active in the evangelism department. He was even going alone to evangelise without waiting for others. The air of mystery still surrounds what made him mad.
The Church in an attempt to restore him to his former self responded immediately. He was rushed to a psychiatric hospital where he was taken care of. After one month, he was restored but not without being prone to occasional outbursts. The church also sponsored his deliverance program to one of the Church branches but he did not go. This was after the church gave him money for the deliverance.
Today, the church was tired of his occasional outbursts and asked him to stop coming. It should also be known that the church has been feeding him all this while but his outbursts were embarrassing to the Church.

This was after I delayed for about one week before contacting the microfinance bank. I have long gone to the church to give Thanksgiving for not investing in the swindler's venture. Praise be to God.

To make it short, I almost funded the account but my inquiry on the Branch website cleared the blindness that eclipsed me. Guess what! I got feedback that the loan is not from them.

I was told by Mr Godfrey to open an account with Branch Microfinance to lodge the money. The money is 1.54% per cent of the N3m which is N46,200.

Soon I got feedback that my credit history was not encouraging and that I should fund my account (which is why I titled this post) to enable me to get the loan.

I contacted mr Godfrey and he stated the terms and conditions of the loan. It was that the loan is to borrow N3m and pay N3.4 back in 2 years. I swallowed it line, hook and sinker.

I picked an interest and inquired about it. She directed me to the WhatsApp page of one Mr Godfrey who she claimed was the loan officer.

Little did I know that I was attempting to invest in a swindler venture when I picked interest in a car advertised on Facebook.
The moment that the fraudster saw my inquiry about the car the fraudster who posed as a female with the Facebook name Josephine and WhatsApp name urgent loan replied to me.
In my inbox, she said that the car has been sold. She added that they are also into a microfinance bank that gives a loan that can help me purchase a car.

1. Buying a car from Cotonou now the border is opened, does it save cost?
