I recently left a burden school in Lekki. I was a teacher and at the same time house parent. What I saw in my odyssey there is not encouraging.

I cannot advise anybody to put his children in boarding school the there

AFCON is not champions league.

You are wrong....One legged final is the best. AFCON moved from home and away basis to single Final. It also reduce the possibility of violence charactrised by win at home at all cost

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu’s Appearance And My Apology To The Nigerian Army by Nwanna2588: 2:50pm On Oct 21, 2018
Nnamdi Kanu was not wrong to flee from being killed. Prior to the invasion, the NA perfected plan to kill him. There is no justification for that invasion of his residence. The NA violated the sanctity of his residence with the sole aim of killing him.
It was a sensible decision to not stay and lose his life.

Those of us that tried it in 2016/2017 were left disappointed after the organisers engaged the service of some that did not even study what they advertised.
I wish all of you best of luck.
Education / Re: 7 Things All Parents Should Know Before Enrolling A Child In Nigerian Schools by Nwanna2588: 3:54pm On Oct 10, 2018
Using teachers to police the exam of the same school they are teaching is not the best. If WAEC is short of staff they should look for another alternative.
Most private schools are relying on it to survive. Mark my words. Remove teachers from policing WAEC and NECO and see most private schools downfall.
kurlarday:

Come on, if truly you are a teacher, you will know that WAEC has its own examiners. If you know you know. The number of schools writing GCE and SSCE are increasing daily, how do you expect the council to employ staff that will handle all? There are externer supervisors that check the activities of the internal ones. That is never a problem. Please think deep and look somewhere else.

I'm a teacher. This is not far from the truth though it's true to a degree. The day WAEC will stop using teachers to conduct exam is the day Nigerians will know the real truth.

He's right. If Ojukwu can lose election in Igbo land nobody can lay claim to being a 'Jagaban' of Igbo politics.

I hear you but I am considering the home lessons in the two. I was told that Lekki lesson can be up to N50K or more depending on one's bargaining power.

You want us to advise you and you want to kill us with oyinbo abi....kontinu...

And now the other one Magodo to be precise I don't think that the lesson can be like that of Lekki

Please choose for me. It is urgent. I recently secured a teaching job in one of the highbrow areas of Lagos. The job is with accommodation and resumption is on 13th. Now another that is a N120 fare away from my place of residence has called and the deal is almost sealed. The later is paying N20K higher than the prior.
The problem now is that I have packed to the prior as the owner wants me to come and be acclimatised with the environment. Already I have written lesson notes up to the sixth week.
I am also faced with accommodation problem because I stay in a slovenly environment that is prone to flooding. I have been looking for a way to pack out because of the aforementioned problem.
Folks, I am ambivalent of which trajectory to follow. The two are at the highbrow area of Lagos. What is your advice here?

Culture / Re: Five Interesting Traditional Dances From Eastern Nigeria by Nwanna2588: 11:34pm On Sep 12, 2018
As a young boy brought up in Igbo land, I know Ohafia to be the originator of the war dance in question. We used to know them those days as 'oji isi acho isi', 'Ebiriba oji azu agba egwu', etc. are all what fellow Igbos used to address them with.
The war dance is unique and has on many occasions been the cynosure of all eyes. For example, during the burial of the late Odumegwu Ojukwu, they were also invited to demonstrate the war dance. The whole credit goes to Ohafia not Arochukwu. I blame the ignorance of this to the history that has been removed in Nigerian's schools.
Even some years back, corps members from Ohafia won accolades for presenting it during the cultural competition held nationwide and they won as they registered the unique dancing steps that triggered the atavistic memories of those days.
I am not from Ohafia. I am here to correct the misleading information.

And Nkwa Umu agbogho is associated with Afikpo people of the Southern Ebonyi State.
Yes. It should be known that Zik married from Afikpo (Ehugbo) after watching it. Uche Azikiwe danced it and the late Zik was hypnotised.
