The biblical quote you presented appears incongruent with the ongoing discourse, deviating from the central theme. Consequently, I find myself disinclined to partake in a protracted debate, given that your predisposition seems inclined towards digression rather than a focused discussion on the matter at hand. Henceforth, I kindly suggest ceasing further elaboration on this matter, as it does not align with the primary subject. My time, regrettably, is not at leisure for an extended exchange in such a manner.

Forget the certificate, it's the experience that counts. When you can prove that you know what you're teaching and you market yourself properly, many parents will contact you.

As far as I am concerned, you are much better than a graduate who studied mathematics education since you've practicing for 6 years. Just believe in yourself.

Find a way to demonstrate yourself by teaching some students free for a month. If you prove yourself, their parents will pay you. Do you know how many people complain about how bad their children are in mathematics?

Leave this site and look for those complaints. Then find a way to contact them and offer your services. Forget the certificate. Prove you have the knowledge. It won't be easy, that I know. But it will be worth it on the long run.

So teaching is now for every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Teaching in certain private schools has become a source of frustration for educators, with underlying issues exacerbating the situation. A particularly alarming concern is the prevalence of exam malpractice orchestrated by some unscrupulous proprietors. This unethical practice not only compromises the integrity of education but is also a means for these proprietors to justify exorbitant school fees charged to parents.

However, the challenges extend beyond exam malpractice. Some proprietors fail to recognize the dedication and hard work of teachers, evident in their refusal to compensate during holidays. Such practices not only contribute to financial insecurity for educators but also create an environment where the passion for teaching is overshadowed by discontent and dissatisfaction.

In light of these issues, a collective call for reform within the private education sector becomes imperative. It is crucial for stakeholders, including educators, parents, and regulatory bodies, to advocate for ethical practices, transparency, and a genuine commitment to providing quality education. Proprietors must be held accountable for their actions, ensuring that the primary focus remains on fostering an environment conducive to learning and personal growth.

In conclusion, the challenges faced by educators in certain private schools highlight the need for comprehensive reform in the sector. Examining and rectifying unethical practices, fostering a commitment to education over financial gain, and advocating for the well-being of teachers are crucial steps in ensuring the integrity and quality of private school education. It is a collective responsibility to pave the way for an educational landscape that prioritizes learning, integrity, and the holistic development of students.

Politics / Re: Eko Row: Benin People ‘Owned’ Lagos, Awori Paid Royalties To Them - Erelu Abiola by Nwanna2588: 5:30pm On Dec 03, 2023
In the intricate tapestry of historical narratives, a parallel discourse emerges, akin to the complex interplay witnessed in the Niger Delta between the minority factions of Itsekiri and Ijaw. Within this narrative, a curious assertion surfaces, suggesting that the Igbo populace once found themselves ensconced in the role of subservience to these minorities. The perplexity deepens as one contemplates the improbable scenario of a numerical minority audaciously asserting dominance over a numerical majority.

The perusal of historical annals is further enriched by the extension of this phenomenon to the Yoruba-Bini dynamic. The Bini, a majority in the expansive terrain of Edo state, endeavouring to wield influence disproportionate to their demographic standing, particularly in comparison to the vast Yoruba-dominant territories of the southwest. The intellectual contortion required to fathom such an inversion of numerical prowess raises the spectre of incredulity.

As the veracity of these historical reverberations unfolds, one is compelled to reflect upon the broader implications and echoes of this historical dissonance. The assertion that minorities, in defiance of numerical logic, held sway over majorities, reaping the bountiful harvest of royalties, elicits a profound sense of wonderment. It is a saga where the conventional norms of dominance and subjugation seem to undergo a perplexing metamorphosis, leaving observers in a state of perpetual awe.

In the crucible of historical scrutiny, echoes of Itsekiri and Ijaw accusations resound, claiming the Igbo as erstwhile subjects of servitude. This thematic recurrence, exemplified by the digital diatribe of Asari Dokubo, prompts a collective yearning for resolution and clarity. Satiating this intellectual thirst requires a meticulous untangling of historical threads, disentangling fact from conjecture.

However, amidst the cacophony of historical grievances, a salient truth emerges. The current contours of the Nigerian landscape owe their existence to the collaborative efforts of the majority triad: Hausas, Igbos, and Yorubas. It is their collective synergy that has elevated Nigeria to a status transcending mere geographical boundaries, relegating other entities to the periphery in a manner analogous to Benin Republic, Ghana, and their ilk.

As the unfolding chapters of history beckon, the trajectory of this intricate saga remains uncertain. The prism of time may illuminate hitherto obscured facets, allowing for a more nuanced comprehension of the dynamics that have shaped the Nigerian narrative. In the interim, we stand poised on the precipice of revelation, awaiting the revelation of truths veiled by the sands of time.

In the realm of deficient governmental presence, an undeniable revelation emerges: the authorities are remiss in aiding the populace. The consequential effect is an exacerbation of challenges within our nation. Should the reins of development be relinquished to the citizenry, a noteworthy transformation could transpire. These industrious individuals, unassisted by officialdom, possess the capability to rejuvenate even the most desolate regions, perhaps manifesting seaports in ostensibly moribund locales.

However, a clandestine machination appears to thwart such endeavors. Instances abound, as witnessed in Aba, where earnest citizens, spurred by altruism, sought to bestow a facelift upon a designated precinct, only to be rebuffed under the guise of governmental exclusivity in certain ventures. The ubiquitous refrain echoes that certain tasks are the exclusive purview of the government. One is compelled to question the rationale behind this categorical restraint – a suspicion of nefarious stratagems lingers.

This predilection for selective development is not confined to the precincts of Igbo land; it permeates other regions, exemplified by the monopoly of seaports in Lagos, neglecting the legitimate aspirations of places like Ondo. The incessant query resounds: why this unwarranted favoritism? Such discrimination is untenable; the government must diversify its approach. Granting autonomy to proactive entities could metamorphose dormant realms into thriving epicenters of progress.

The salutary impact of such initiatives is manifold – envision Anambra ascending to economic eminence akin to Lagos. The ramifications of this transcend parochial boundaries; it is a boon for the entire nation. However, obstinacy prevails, exemplified by an incongruous policy preventing a pharmaceutical enterprise from establishing in Anambra, purportedly due to an irksome insistence on the Apapa enclave as the sole conduit for drug distribution.

In summation, the government must recalibrate its policies, fostering a paradigm where benevolence outweighs bureaucratic rigidity. The present trajectory, marked by intransigence, is injurious to our collective welfare. An inclusive and equitable distribution of development is not a capricious whim but a sine qua non for the betterment of our nation.

Uzo Kalu's clash with Ohakim of Imo State unfolds as a tragic saga of Godfather versus Godson gone awry. This interstate political drama, often overlooked amidst localized narratives, witnessed the ascension of Ohakim to the gubernatorial throne orchestrated by Uzo Kalu. However, the camaraderie took an abrupt turn when Ohakim, awakening to the Igbo ethos of self-identity, questioned Uzo Kalu's intrusion from Abia into Imo. The rupture of this once symbiotic relationship signifies a unique chapter in political annals, underscoring the pivotal role Uzo Kalu's party played in shaping Ohakim's governorship. A cross-state dynamic of Godfather propelling a Godson to the helm, this tale resonates as an extraordinary facet deserving of commemoration.

The veracity of the assertion that Igbo properties predominate in Lagos is self-evident. However, the proclamation that the Yoruba populace bears the brunt of demolitions is met with incredulity. Having resided in Lagos for an extensive period, I can attest that edifices, omnipresent in my habitation, predominantly boast Igbo ownership. This revelation defies the calculations of those who sought to quantify such occurrences.

Drawing upon my two decades as a Lagosian, my perambulations have traversed diverse locales, encompassing Omojuwa Estate, Lafiagi, Happy Land Estate, Lagos Business School environs, University View Estate, and beyond. From Magodo, including Unilag Estate and Magodo Phase 2, my sojourn has spanned the expansive tapestry of Lagos. This perspective challenges the narrative, not with an intent to exalt or assert Igbo superiority but to express skepticism.
Culture / Re: You’re Wrong, Aworis Are Lagos First Settlers - Bamgbade Counters Oba Of Benin by Nwanna2588: 8:14pm On Nov 30, 2023
Lagos, situated in the southwestern region and distinct from the Benin (Bini) stronghold in the south-south, bears witness to a historical migration that, while acknowledging the roots of settlers from Benin, refrains from conferring ownership. To assert dominion over Lagos solely based on migration parallels the fallacy of attributing discovery to Mungo Park in a pre-existing Nigeria. The geographical proximity of Akoko Ondo to Edo would have lent credence to such claims, yet Lagos, distant from Edo, remains rooted in its original ownership. The linguistic nuances, exemplified by the shared etymology of terms like 'Oba,' do not eclipse the rightful ownership vested in the geographical locale. Despite parallels like Upper Iweka in Gabon named by the Igbo, their acknowledgement refrains from asserting unwarranted ownership, a principle that transcends borders and echoes through the historical corridors of Lagos.
Politics / Re: Who Founded Lagos: Yoruba Or Binis? Oba Of Benin’s Claim Stirs Controversy, Agai by Nwanna2588: 1:45pm On Nov 28, 2023
In the discourse on the Bini versus Yoruba dynamics in Lagos, it becomes apparent that the numerical superiority of the Yorubas tends to exert dominance over the smaller Bini community. Yet, amid this demographic reality, a nuanced acknowledgment emerges – an iota of truth lies in the cultural contributions of the Binis, as reflected in linguistic nuances and place names.

Upon closer inspection, historical vestiges reveal Lagos towns bearing Bini names, challenging the assumption that everything is inherently Yoruba. The very title of "Oba" itself, often deemed quintessentially Yoruba, traces its origins to the Bini culture. This revelation underscores a complexity that defies simplistic categorizations.

However, geographical realities persist, with Lagos firmly situated in the South-West, historically recognized as Yoruba territory. The notion of ceding land based on historical connections clashes with the fundamental principle of territorial sovereignty. It echoes parallels of an Igbo claim to Equatorial Guinea, emphasizing the impracticality of asserting ownership without tangible boundaries.

Drawing a parallel to the Black American experience in claiming ownership of America, the conclusion surfaces – the owner of the land remains the owner, akin to the immutable nature of citizenship. This prompts contemplation on the concept of naturalization, advocating a shift from the right of blood to the right of the soil in the Nigerian context.

In the intricate tapestry of Lagos's identity, acknowledging historical contributions while respecting territorial boundaries becomes pivotal. The discourse urges a reevaluation of citizenship paradigms, inviting a nuanced perspective that accommodates both historical legacies and contemporary realities.

The genesis of the dispute leading to his assertion of territorial entitlement remains elusive. However, it behooves me to convey the following: The Ijaw populace in Rivers State mirrors the Idoma community of Benue South. The crux of my emphasis lies in elucidating that ascendancy to governance denotes a benevolence rooted in the prevailing influence of the Igbo demographic within the state. This is underscored by the discernible occurrences in Benue State, where the Tiv constituency steadfastly resisted a southward transfer of leadership. The protracted occupation of said position by the Tivs serves as an instructive precedent for denizens of the present state to exercise judicious discourse, thereby averting a replication of the Benue scenario. It is evident that the Igbo cohort has assumed leadership thrice heretofore, warranting due consideration for their participation in the impending governance. In stark contrast, the Tivs, despite their protracted incumbency, acknowledge their tenure as a privilege rather than an unassailable entitlement. Ergo, while the incumbent holds a legitimate claim, it is concurrently a bestowed privilege. The prospect of emulating the diplomatic approach undertaken by the Igbo constituency in Benue looms as a pragmatic recourse to obviate potential discord.

SOMETIMES WE ARE UNABLE TO PAY BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE. READ MORE:

A few months ago, a fellow neighbour noticed me on my way back from work and decided to walk alongside me until we reached my home. His behaviour struck me as unusual, but soon enough, he explained that he had been waiting for me. Without giving me a chance to respond, he went on to request a specific amount of money.

Despite not having a close relationship with him, we had been neighbours for two and a half years. I decided to take a leap of faith and lent him the requested amount. Internally, I mentally prepared myself to consider it a loss, as my approach in recent times had been to either decline lending money or lend and then forget about it.

From that point onwards, the individual made promises but consistently failed to fulfil them. On the other hand, I chose to remain silent. I even noticed him attempting to avoid me at times, yet I feigned ignorance. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, and I continued to maintain a restrained response.

Although I contemplated raising my voice when it became apparent that he had no intention of repaying, I held back. Today, to my surprise, he showed up at my doorstep to repay the debt.

This experience has taught me several valuable lessons. Firstly, many people are willing to pay their debts but may appear unreliable when they lack the means to do so. Secondly, not every situation requires shouting at debtors as a solution. Lastly, it's important to avoid judging people solely based on societal perceptions. In this case, the young man hails from a region known for its reputation as notorious debtors, but that does not define his character.

I WITNESSED A SIMILAR THING IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL BUT NOT A PHONE ISSUE

In the chronicle of scholastic encounters, one finds oneself compelled to recount a singularly astonishing incident, which transpired during the prior academic term. It was within the hallowed precincts of a classroom, the sanctum of intellectual cultivation, that a tableau of remarkable audacity unfolded. A damsel, emboldened by the temerity of youthful impetuousness, did dare to proffer an utterance most extraordinary, a pronouncement that seemed to suggest an inversion of the established hierarchy. The very essence of pedagogical authority was challenged, nay, spurned, as she forthrightly intimated that it was her coffers whence my sustenance emanated, thereby divesting me of my purported privilege to levy chastisement upon her personage for her transgression of concealing her scholarly parchment.

Yet, dear interlocutor, the narration remains incomplete without amplification of the tempestuous storm that ensued. Her vocal dissent, rather than subsiding as an errant quip, metamorphosed into a cascade of vituperations that cascaded through the lecture hall, a cacophony that one might deem a dissonant symphony of incivility. It was as if the very bedrock of decorum had been besmirched by her verbal aspersions. In my capacity as a guardian of the sanctity of knowledge dissemination, I sought to restore equipoise, threatening her expulsion should she persist in her disruptive discourse. A gauntlet was thus thrown, a challenge tendered in open defiance of the authority vested in me.

As the edifice of my poise withstood this onslaught of verbal barrage, my resolve remained steadfast. Having but recently become acquainted with the pedagogical labyrinth of this institution, I harboured the determination to remain unruffled by the barrage of affronts and provocations. Thus, with an inner fortitude resembling the ancient oak weathering a tempest, I continued to disseminate the pearls of wisdom, my focus unwavering.

Upon the cessation of the lecture, the curtain did not fall on this theatrical episode, for it was only the commencement of another act. A sojourn to the office of the learned principal beckoned, a haven where grievances were bespoken. With a measured timbre, I rendered an account of the occurrence, a narrative that did arouse the principal's indignation. A paragon of administrative authority, she decreed that the young lady be summoned into her august presence, a tribunal where recompense for insubordination would be meted out.

The climax of this saga unfolded in the principal's chambers, where justice—swift and corporeal—was served upon the recalcitrant student. The catharsis, albeit laden with physicality, marked a crescendo, an adjudication that echoed with the resonances of accountability restored and decorum upheld.

Thus, dear inquirer, concludes this chapter, a tale in which the contours of youthful rebellion were met by the ironclad will of institutional probity. The events recounted herein stand as a testament to the intricate tapestry of academic life, where the pendulum of authority swings in the face of insubordination, lest the foundational principles of scholarship be threatened with dissolution.

The issue of teaching jobs with accommodation raises concerns about the exploitation and unfair treatment of teachers. In many cases, educators who accept positions that come with accommodation often find themselves in situations that are far from ideal. It is essential to recognize that while such opportunities may seem convenient on the surface, they can, in reality, lead to a form of modern-day slavery.

Many school owners take advantage of teachers who are provided with accommodation. They use this as a means to impose additional responsibilities on the teachers beyond their primary role of educating students. This can lead to a situation where a teacher is not only responsible for teaching but also takes on the roles of a gateman, a patron, or various other unrelated tasks. This exploitation of teachers' labour is deeply unfair and should not be tolerated.

Moreover, the subject combination required of teachers can often be overwhelming. Some teachers may be expected to teach multiple subjects, sometimes as many as four. This heavy workload can make the teaching job extremely stressful and can hurt the quality of education provided to students.

Another unfortunate consequence of such arrangements is that teachers may find it challenging to supplement their meagre salaries through home lessons or additional tutoring. This is because they are already burdened with the responsibility of looking after the school premises and its related tasks after regular school hours. This not only limits their income potential but also leaves them with limited free time and opportunities for personal growth.

In conclusion, teaching jobs with accommodation can, in many cases, lead to the exploitation of teachers and an undue burden on their shoulders. Education authorities, institutions, and society as a whole must address these issues and ensure that teachers are treated fairly, compensated adequately, and allowed to focus on their primary role of educating the next generation without being subjected to additional, unrelated tasks that contribute to the hardships they face.

Your assertion, while delivered with a modicum of eloquence, appears to suffer from a misalignment with the subject matter under discussion. It is evident that, in the midst of this discourse, an inadvertent conflation has occurred, wherein I, with no small amount of bewilderment, find myself discussing a peculiar amalgamation of topics that, in truth, bears little semblance of professionalism or cohesion. Meanwhile, you, with a commendable intent to elucidate, have embarked on a passionate discourse regarding the ever-escalating burden thrust upon educators within the hallowed precincts of our educational institutions.

The crux of the matter is the conspicuous absence of any substantive correlation between these two divergent subjects, each having been advertised in the preceding narratives. While I, perhaps mistakenly, embarked upon a curious voyage into uncharted territories of subject matter, the workload inflicted upon our revered teachers remains an entirely separate, yet equally pressing issue.

To reconcile these dissonant themes, one would be compelled to weave a narrative thread with an intricacy and finesse that might rival the most convoluted of tapestries. The objective would be to illuminate, with an intellectual luminescence, the interplay between these unrelated spheres of discourse. However, as matters stand, I must admit that the task, although replete with potential, is one that defies logical synthesis.

In conclusion, it becomes evident that the thematic harmony sought in the initial query remains elusive, a testament to the vast chasm that separates the professional confluence of subjects from the onerous challenges faced by our educators. And thus, we find ourselves in the curious paradox of eloquence without cohesion, a conundrum that, perhaps, could only be unraveled by the passage of time or a fresh perspective.

Family / Re: Igbo Custom On Bride Price Wicked, Evil Ungodly, Says Ondo Court by Nwanna2588: 8:51pm On Oct 11, 2023
As someone of Igbo descent, I concur with the sentiment expressed, but it's essential to note that this practice is not pervasive throughout all regions within Igbo land. There exist areas within Igbo communities where exorbitant bride prices, often referred to as "killer" bride prices, are not customary or are less prevalent.

What truly distresses me is the inclusion of alcohol, tobacco, snuff, and cigars within these bride price requirements. The expectation to procure these items can be perplexing, particularly for individuals who do not partake in smoking or using such products. For instance, envision requesting a non-smoker to purchase a packet of cigars as part of the bride price—a disconcerting notion indeed.

In addressing this matter, it is imperative to consider the diversity of customs and traditions within the Igbo culture, acknowledging that not all communities adhere to the same practices. It is essential for dialogue and understanding to prevail, fostering a balanced approach that respects tradition while also ensuring fairness and consideration for the individuals involved.

sreamsense:

You could have picked one or two police from computer village. Give them like 5k, they will threaten those people and makes resolution faster. Without that, they will only be dribbling you, come today, come tomorrow. The truth is that they don't always like to involve in police case, they would have provided the person that acted it out or force the owner to produce him which would have mounted pressure on them. Second option that may be delayed a bit is to involve Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency ( LASCOPA). You must always be at alert whenever you want to buy good product out of computer village. Developers have turned that place to Den of Frauds. Don't always fall for " Nah Original"

In this unfortunate incident at the Computer village, I encountered a distressing situation that brought to light the need for consumer protection and proper channels for dispute resolution. It all began when I entrusted a phone repairer with the task of fixing my phone, for which I paid a significant sum of N5000 in good faith. However, to my dismay, the repairer was unable to successfully mend my phone, leaving me with a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction.

What compounded the situation was the repairer's audacity to taunt me, confidently asserting that I was powerless to take any action against him. This display of arrogance and unprofessionalism only further fueled my desire to seek justice and resolve the matter. Thus, on that very day, I decided to involve law enforcement, and I sought assistance from the police stationed at the Computer village.

However, regrettably, my attempts to involve the police did not yield the desired results. The officer I approached was unable to accompany me or take necessary action to address the issue effectively. Despite my plea for assistance and justice, she informed me that she was the sole officer available to handle the situation at that moment, citing her inability to leave the station. Consequently, she requested that I abandon my pursuit of the matter.

Disheartened by the lack of support and discouraged by the turn of events, I made the difficult decision to leave my phone in the custody of the repairer. In my frustration, I found myself expressing resentment towards a particular ethnic group, making a hasty and generalized judgment about them. It's crucial to acknowledge that passing judgment based on ethnicity is unfair and counterproductive, as individuals should be assessed based on their actions and not their background.

Reflecting upon this distressing incident, it is evident that there is a pressing need for improved mechanisms for consumer protection and dispute resolution within the Computer village and similar markets. Consumers should have reliable avenues to voice their grievances and seek fair treatment when faced with unsatisfactory services or products. Moreover, fostering an environment of understanding and unity among diverse groups is essential to address challenges and foster a more inclusive and just society.

In the wake of the anticipated loss of Tinubu's seat, the question on many people's minds revolves around the succession plan and who will step into the role of the next president. It's important to recognize that a transition of power at such a high level of government typically triggers a chain of events by the established democratic processes. In this case, once Tinubu's loss is confirmed, the electoral machinery will set in motion to conduct a presidential election within the next three months.

During this transitional period, an interim government may be established to ensure the smooth functioning of the nation's affairs. The interim government would be responsible for overseeing the transition process, organizing the election, and maintaining stability and governance until a new president is elected and inaugurated. This interim period is crucial in upholding democratic principles and allowing the citizens to participate in the electoral process to choose their new leader.

In conclusion, the course of action after Tinubu's potential loss involves holding a presidential election within three months, and during the interim, an interim government would oversee the transition and governance until a new president is democratically elected and assumes office. This process aims to ensure a seamless transfer of power and maintain the democratic foundation of the nation.

Certainly, let's elaborate on the matter. The phrase "What else are we waiting to hear?" emphasizes an impatience for additional information, suggesting that the signs conveyed by the president's body language have already conveyed a message. The mention of "the semiotic of the body language of the president" alludes to the symbolic interpretation of non-verbal cues given by the president, indicating that these cues have effectively communicated a particular message or intent. The assertion "He forged the certificate. Period!" is a conclusive statement alleging that the president engaged in certificate forgery, delivered with a tone of finality and conviction. The subsequent statement, "There is no need saying that what has happened has not happened," underscores a lack of necessity to deny or dispute the aforementioned assertion, reinforcing the belief in the veracity of the claim.
