Ayorh4you: They picked Akanni up one morning
Beat him soft like clay
And stuffed him down the belly
Of a waiting jeep.
What business of mine is it
So long they don't take the yam
From my savouring mouth?
They came one night
Booted the whole house awake
And dragged Danladi out,
Then off to a lengthy absence.
What business of mine is it
So long they don't take the yam
From my savouring mouth?
Chinwe went to work one day
Only to find her job was gone:
No query, no warning, no probe -
Just one neat sack for a stainless record.
What business of mine is it
So long they don't take the yam
From my savouring mouth?
And then one evening
As I sat down to eat my yam
A knock on the door froze my hungry hand.
The jeep was waiting on my bewildered lawn
Waiting, waiting in its usual silence.
damn! I love this. Who composed it?

BRAV0O: talk!!! Nd quickly run for cover grin grin " I feel many chubby ladies need these kind of encourage... maybe if they find out how much some certain men do really love them, maybe they'll feel equal I av seen some chubby girl that complain same things like wanting to diet cus they're afraid if men won't love their shape... Many like that

Romance › Re: A Lot Of Men Act Like They Are Doing A Woman A Favor by Oahray: 12:53pm On Jul 11, 2014
If a girl is obsessed with marriage and advertises it, her partner would likely act like he's doing her a favour. I wouldn't blame him either.

It's the same way many girls act like they are doing a guy a favour by dating him, when it's the guy that's going to spend time, energy and resources trying to make her happy.

BRAV0O: well you're right but slims are being too much over rated
no they aren't. It's easier for slim ladies to have the waist-to-hip ratio (about 0.7) that drive most men crazy. Many chubby ladies gather fat around their waist and stomach. Only a good head and personality can compensate for it o.

You guys are incompatible na. E no clear? End the relationship before una kill each other, and work on yourselves before getting into another relationship.

Truth is, bad traits usually worsen after marriage. You'd have all the time in the world to get pissed with each other.

I tried to comport myself but could not and that was how I fell down o grin people were like ahhh, sorry sorry. Mtchww, it was not funny at all. grin
lol. Those days when I was still a total gentleman, I'd look away like I didn't see, or say sorry with the most sympathetic face ever.

Now I make sure I grin first, if the fallen is a girl bent on impressing with her steps.

Jman06: It's good she works too? And then use her earnings for what? See, let's shun double standards and find a lasting solution to this confusion which our marriage institution in Africa has been drawn into by western influences. Now, let me propose two solutions and leave you to choose between them: 1. That all our girls should be withdrawn from school while only boys should be allowed to go to school. Also, all our women in paid employments be denied their jobs and be sent back to the 'kitchen' where they can only engage in petty trading(if they so wish), while our teaming unemployed young men be given their jobs. And women should derive joy from their roles in the 'kitchen' and not start trying to copy the west. And that any woman who tries to take up a paid job outside petty trading should be jailed for life while the same treatment should be meted out on any man who fails to provide for his family. 2. Let's continue in our new found order where women and men are given equal opportunity in all human endeavors while marriage becomes a partnership whereby both men and women are equal partners and make equal contribution in running the affairs of the family, without any grumbling from either side. And that the bills paid to contract such marriages should be shared equally between the partners. And that under such marriages, women should forever stop complaining that men are no longer their old selves, while men should stop lamenting that women no longer take full responsibility of the 'kitchen', and any partner who asks for extra pecks aside this new arrangement should be jailed for life. So sweetie, can you choose from the above conditions?8-)
to each one his own. Choose for yourself what you want as long as your partner wants the same. It's not mine to choose for the world.

Don't ever call me sweetie again angry

Family › Re: What's Happening To Our Men? by Oahray: 9:51am On Jul 10, 2014
Jman06: There's nothing wrong with that so long as the woman takes her rightful place in the kitchen and remains at the man's beck and call in the bedroom. Conflicts will only arise when the woman tries to be 'equal' with the man but refuses to brace up with the responsibilities of being an 'equal'. No room for double standards. Hope you agree with that?
the woman's rightful place isn't in the kitchen. It's good she works too. However psychological and even physiological differences between men and women, make women better suited to care giving in the family.

Men's traditional role (I'm not talking African culture, but the human race as a whole) as head of the family makes them the default breadwinners. But that is changing, and so must everything related.

Conflicts arise when two members try to assume the same role. It's a given.

The world is changing, let's see where it takes us to. The alarming number of single parent families is just a tip of the scary iceberg.

I hope she goes to jail though. No sympathies. A man in her shoes would immediately be tagged a demon and cast into jail to rot, with approving nods from everyone looking.

Had they not mentioned the father of the baby, some presumptuous empty skulls would have decided to tag him runaway so he can be blamed.

We keep deceiving ourselves that the world is getting more civilized. Everything familial is fast dying. Call it postpartum depression, call her sick... Whatever. It's not just her, the world is sick.

Such a cute baby sad

thegoodjoehunt: Valdez has one World Cup medals and I think Three Champions league medal.

The World Cup is number one.

Many argue that the World Cup of the past were fiercer and tougher. The tackles were harsh. Imagine The Teeth-removing collision between the German Goal Keeper Schumacher and French Battison. If Messi was in that era, his leg would have been broken plate.
fierce collision isn't what makes football tough. There's rugby for that. The times Pele ran around with pant shorts were tough? Spare me! They lacked the technicality and finesse of the modern era. FIFA rules have made it more difficult to score goals and win matches now than in the past.

It only seems tough because our mind have a tendency of blowing up the positives of the past and forgetting the negatives. Even the man who could barely feed always has a 'good old days' to remember.

thegoodjoehunt: The Champions league is not the greatest prize. It is so easy to play in and it is given every year. Xavi has three Champions league medals. Very few like Pele have Three World Cup Medals.

Mess I has Three Champions league medals and no World Cup medal. That will tell you the level of difficulty of the World Cup.
well if the world cup were yearly, people would win it more than thrice. Pele played football in an archaic era.

Even Valdez has a world cup medal.

Seriously, whatever.

It's not like Messi was so exceptional tonight. Plus he had a strong team, Ronaldo had to suit up with babies from the portuguese league. tongue
that Ronaldo excuse is cliché already. I think he was always thinking of his next haircut.

First it was Messi cannot perform without Xavi and Iniesta...

Well, Messi debunked it. Then it was, Argentina is rubbish without Messi.

Argentina wins Netherlands, suddenly they are a strong team?

Would you people please make up your minds? tongue
