Laveda:madam stop explaining jare. The persons taunting you do not really care what you say (actually, I don't think anyone cares), they just want to know their attempt to make you feel bad is getting to you. Why are you not getting it? Stop giving people psychological weapons to use against you. Let them talk... Today's headline is tomorrow's stale news. Just learn your lesson (if you like) and move on. |
makydebbie:nothing. I'm a big fan ![]() |
vicstar:hmmm... Why? Like this, she's pretty and she NOSE alot. If you ask me, that's Beauty and Brains. |
princeakins:ah... Baba, no be pickup line o. Na just compliment inspired by em... by awe ![]() |

LuveU2:oh. Ok. |
LuveU2:where's the thread? Can't find it. |
Kenneth205:serve? This isn't a presidential election bro. No one serves anyone on NL. Just give good reasons why you should be the one to eat the prize money. We know that's what you all are after. |
YoursGEJ:lolz... Don't mind the guy. He pretends to know what he's saying. He probably thinks sound is an electromagnetic wave. |
LuveU2:thought as much ![]() |
LuveU2:Alright... Tomorrow Tuesday 26th? You wrote this 12:22am today. |
Focus is shifting from the media player to the display. Perhaps up next: holographic television displays and virtual reality media devices. |
oglalasioux:open a thread in science and technology. I'd like to know how the speculative multiverse is solid science. |
oglalasioux:funny how you've taken Schrödinger's highly redundant equation to be rock-solid scientific law. Then you apply it in a way that shows you don't understand it at all (well, neither do I). It's a speculative hypothesis that doesn't tell us anything different from what Heisenberg said in his Uncertainty Principle, a philosophical jargon dressed up as science just like related theories like multiverses (which you are subtly implying). Every particle exists in many places as a wave but contracts to a position when about to be observed and then collapses back after after observation? You seriously believe that? Yeah, a white scientist said so, so it must be true. Then the cat Paradox... Both dead and alive in different realities until observation. In other words, nothing happens unless it's being observed. It's like someone telling you that a falling tree both makes noise and yet makes no sound (at the same time) if there is no one to hear it. Your write-sounds smart at first glance, but then it's just another blind leap of faith. Interesting to see someone in this clime with a passion for science-based theories though. PS: Your last point about white people choosing not to expose religion is nonsense. There are still white scientists who believe in God. Stop worshipping the white man like he is the keeper of some sacred secret. |
foolinlove:if it's not going to help save lives or feed malnourished kids worldwide or cure diseases afflicting MANkind, I'm very much uninterested. There are better things to do than read stories of squabbles about pronouns by gender-insecure persons. Thank you. |
foolinlove:being called woMAN makes you disadvantaged? Lolz... Ok, are going to stop being feMALE and huMAN too? Chai! Thank goodness all ladies don't think the same way. Adios. |
foolinlove:lol. Don't call yourself a woman then. There's MAN in it. Ditch the pronouns 'she' and 'her' for having 'he' in them. Feminists are far less logical than I thought. In constant battle with their imagination. I said you have a victim MENTALITY, not that you are a victim. It means you see yourself as a victimized fighter (against the world) at every turn even when conditions favour you more than you care to admit. I think I'm done. You can go and make your cleavage contribution to the world. |
Na wa sha. While people are brainstorming on the next technological innovations that would help mankind move forward, our sister here is only interested in the right to bare her cleavage as if it's punishable by law. |
foolinlove:If you take responsibility for your actions, you'd have admitted that your actions can influence your public image. But no... You prefer to blame onlookers for forming an opinion. You still aren't getting the point. "It contributes to..." doesn't not translate to "It's the reason why..." I wonder why you are mixing them up. Are you doing that on purpose? The lady in a niqab who gets raped is the unfortunate victim of a person without self-control pushed on by a mind influenced by the media that you ladies have helped sexualize. There's no sole ingredient in any cooked meal. Oh... Please. Feminists didn't change the world. Humans changed the world in every century. Popular ideals change with time. People don't travel on donkeys anymore, monarchy has lost its power... Times change, but Man has always formed opinions since the moment he realized he has a mind. That would never change... The world isn't going to change FOR YOU because you have a victim mentality. Interpret that any way you wish. |
foolinlove:this is exactly why I had to add that a reason is not necessarily an excuse. Still you managed to fly over the point. Impressive! Whether you like it or not, there is a reason for every action, but it only becomes a valid excuse when the reason justifies the action. In the end, every action contributes to some reaction. Some of you like to deny reality because it is unpleasant. Don't even try to go strawman on me. That fallacy is ol'skool. No one is sexualizing anyone. When Nicky Minaj raps about her butt, and guys focus on her butt, whose fault is that? Our male ancestors? You ladies are the ones sexualizing yourselves by highlighting body parts that arouse men by nature. My points thus far since you have a knack for missing them... 1) Your dressing influences how you are viewed. You can change how you are dressed, you can't change the human tendency to form an opinion about your actions. 2) Indecent dressing is one of the MANY THINGS (others include social media, movies that glorify channeling one's frustrations and aggression through sex) that CONTRIBUTE to vices like rape, even though a lack of self control by the rapist is the main culprit. Keep on being obsessed with patriarchy all you wish. You have a right, just as others have a right to form opinions about you and your dressing. It's a crazy world, don't expect it to change for you; it won't. You better start taking responsibility for your actions. |
foolinlove:You haven't answered my question. Would you view two different presidential candidates the same way when one dresses like a ceo of a corporate organization and the other dresses like a drug-addicted gangster? So how is it you say men aren't judged by the way they dress? You are trying to argue that a person's dressing doesn't matter and should never attract negative opinion. I am saying you are wrong. Again, having sexual thoughts isn't the reason for discrimination based on dressing. I wonder why you aren't getting it. Rape? Lemme tell you something all of you are trying hard to deny. Since time immemorial, there have always been persons without much self-control. That is why rape exists at all. But it's not the sole reason it has become so prevalent (take note that a reason is not necessarily an excuse). The world glorifies sex, the media is awash with it. I've seen a matchbox with a female in a sexy pose. Tell me what that has to do with match sticks. These things matter. When you dress with all parts showing, you might not get attacked because whoever gets aroused has self-control or because the conditions aren't favourable; but you may have contributed to the rape of the next person the brute catches in a favourable condition. |
foolinlove:That's what feminists like to think. Feminism isn't really about equal rights. If a man faces some sort of discrimination or even abuse, feminists would look the other way or even gloat over it. When it's a lady on the shorter end of the stick, you all remember to cry foul. You feminists have no idea what equality means, or maybe you are just being devious. If you do, you wouldn't open a post arguing for a woman's right to go bare chested yet denying a man's right to have an opinion about it. That's all shades of silly. |
foolinlove:those men ( whether in the minority or majority, is inconsequential) who do such don't call ladies _sluts because they feel sexual attraction to them. It's usually because they feel the ladies are dressed or behave like the professional ones seeking customers. You think men cannot have sexual thoughts about ladies who dress modestly? If you do, you know far less than you think you do. However they wouldn't address them the same way they would a scantily dressed lady. Tell me, would you think the same thing of a suited presidential candidate and another dressed like a hippie? Dressing leaves an impression. It's not rocket science. PS: I like how you presumed to know me. Presumptuousness is mostly blind. For the records, I don't call ladies _sluts, but if a lady (this applies to guys too) comes for a job interview bare chested (or nearly), she can forget about the job. ![]() |
Tenkobos:thank you. Make dem dey there dey play victim. It's funny anyone would think other people's opinion can put holes in their favourite skimpy dresses. The freedom to criticize is a big part of the free world we desire. If they care so much what people think, dem never ready to bare chest. ![]() |
LuveU2:lol. Do you live in Nigeria? Walk bare-chested and see if it's the men that would criticize you the most. Many of these ideas we attribute to patriarchy are enforced the most by your fellow women. Guess who usually performed FGM on girls in past generations? No, not a man. Guess who wouldn't let a couple rest without a male child? No, not the father-in-law. Guess who attack girls the most for wearing trousers? Hint: they wear long shapeless skirts and feel righteous inside. Ladies mercilessly slut-shame fellow ladies too, and with an air of self-righteousness. Yet you have to blame the men who even enjoy the sight. |
Ok, so you believe women should not be told what to wear or not wear but men should be told what to think or not think of it? Your choices shouldn't have consequences because you are female, right? On instagram, you know what I noticed? The most creative of guys showed off their art and innovations, while most ladies showed off their scantily-clad bodies and twerk videos. Tomorrow you'd wonder why ladies aren't taken seriously, and blame patriarchy for your own choices and their consequences. Truth is, you can rant all you wish but the average person would always have an opinion about your actions, and it's something you can't take away from him/her. You have a right to walk about with boobs spilling out, and I have the right to think whatever I please about it. |

cozy7:dude... Don't rush into battle just because your armour is shining. That's not how to change a font. When you embolden or italicize or strikethrough, you are changing the font STYLE. It isn't the same as changing font. The topic is misleading. If you must pass info, do it correctly or don't do it at all. It's high time we stopped celebrating mediocrity in Africa. |
Una too like drama for this section sef. |
So when you italicize or embolden or strikethrough a word, you've CHANGED the FONT? Smh. |
